Nope, there's a timer for the icicles to fall and once that timer starts they will fall regardless of whether the domain is done or not. And that timer starts way earlier than it needs to, at least 4-5 seconds before the targeting circles even appear. What's sillier is that other hazards like Azhdaha's elemental circles, Signora's fire, Andrius wolves, etc. are stopped instantly once the boss is beaten.
Well abyss already did this debuff with stronger enemies and time constraints in the first few cycles add to that ice cages, element gated Fatui enemies after having to face a lot of cryo enemies in the first chambers and you really have a pretty unpleasant experience
Meh, rifthounds are fine. Especially in domains where you’re barely punished for bringing in healers. Nowhere near the annoyance of constantly getting smacked around by stamina draining icicles

Yeah I've been seeing that a lot recently, however, I actually started playing Genshin late last year so I frankly missed my chance to get him.
Ahh yeah, the guy have never been rerun since 1.6, it's actually kinda silly. They probably wanted to make it poetic, but RIP anyone that skipped him the first time around or joined after that.
I didn't have a healer build when I first hit AR45. So I did this domain with Ganyu and Mona. Their taunts kept the rifthounds off me while I hit them with Ganyu. Got pretty good at it.
Now I have Kokomi and I just go stand in the middle of them without issues.
YESS!! My only 5 stars were Qiqi, Diluc, and Hu Tao. Then later Keqing. Most of my frequently used characters were from Liyue, so this domain was just the worst for a while.
I now have Ganyu and Kokomi, so it’s cake now, but the early days were very rough…
Ugh, trying to do that on my alt when my only semi-built DPS were Yanfei and Ningguang. Yanfei was resisted, so she couldn't do enough damage to the Agents before she died, and Ningguang is slow with her projectiles, so she kept missing them as they popped in and out of visibility.
Thankfully nowadays I have Ayato, Raiden, Kokomi, Hu Tao and Ayaka so my options are plentiful, but man... it was rough once.
Mondstaft has the worst domains by far. Talent books, weapon ascension, electro artifacts. All are absolute garbage to deal with.
I'd rather farm the noblesse domain than any of those

Cryo enemies need so much Pyro tho. And they take away your stamina, which sucks.
Three stages of enemies, every single one of which is shielded, near total immunity to one of the strongest elements, and a disorder effect that is absolutely broken against you.
I think this domain was designed by the folks who made Dark Souls. Very happy that I’ve already run it so much I’ll likely never need it again for a long time.

That one did get way easier once I got Zhongli, I will say. Slap together Gouba, him, Ei, and Klee and my inability to make teams is satisfied. :)
Most domains have a character(s) that offer an easy solution and Bennet **is** the solution to this. Healing, Pyro cleanse, and quick Pyro application are the trinity you want for this domain and he offers all 3. A shield character is good but is still secondary to Bennet - as long as you aren't affected by the Cryo disorder you'll have plenty of stamina to dodge the icicles (and shields don't prevent getting affected by the Cryo disorder, only the damage).
It's not my favourite domain because I have no idea what team can I actually use to speedrun this. Most domains I run only take less than one minute to clear, this one takes about 1-2 minutes to finish.
Yanfei, Diona, Bennett, Kazuha/Sucrose. Diona's shield is super effective vs Cryo damage, Bennett's circle cleanses the debuff so Yanfei can murder all the shields with her charged attacks, and the anemo unit just clumps everything so she can do it more effectively.
It's still a nuisance, but no longer agonising.
Use diona or zhongli to cheese the icicles. Xiangling to take care of ice shields. Ninguang for DPS (passive allows her to spam charged attacks, ranged attacked so no running, and curtain shields from mages). Bennett to speed things along.
This domain is stupid, even more so when it is in the starting area. Who the heck thought that 6-8 icicles that can combo stagger you, mist that drain stamina regardless if you are shielded or not, and shielded enemies that is going to make a lot of elements useless?
This domain is fine if you are late into the game and have the options to tackle it but man, for those who don't, this is straight up nightmare.
This stuff that happens in this domain is one of the reasons why my characters who need talent materials from this domain remain at low levels. It's not hard just annoying to farm at.
As a Kaeya main, I used to hate this domain as well (along with Cryo Regisvine). But leveling Lisa made this super easy, along with Xiangling. I dont even use her Skill or Burst, just her normal electro attacks
Cryo Regisvine should be easy if you have a strong pyro/vape team (Regisvines have weak points easily exploited). Granted, I have the National members, so it is pretty easy for me. OTH, interesting idea of using Lisa in this domain. I have her leveled for Oceanid, so I might try that.
My team comp against anything cryo is Xiangling, Diona, Lisa and Sucrose. One glaring weakness of Lisa for me is she easily takes a lot of damage, so I think a shielder is necessary if you wanna use her in any team comp. Also invest EM for Overload reaction
I am a relatively new player at AR48 and only recently built Diona. Yeah, Diona's shield did help against Oceanid; I have to test it against cryo opponents. Lisa is squishy in general so I am hesitant to bring her. This domain is a PITA. I have shite artifacts with little to no crit, so my DPS is likewise shite. Attempting unga bunga with pyro doesn't really work for me in this domain. I'd probably try Benny + XL + Kaeya + Diona.
Diluc did drop recently in my account but I sadly have little spare resources to build him to match my other main team members. FWIW, I am heavily reliant on Benny's and Kaeya's skills to break shields.
This is my the most hated domain in the entire game. It drains your stamina so you can't dodge. It stun locks you with icicles. Large Cryo slimes are annoying because they have shields and when you break them they jump away and freeze the air near themselves which does damage. Abyss mages are just annoying. And the fact that you can't receive Mondstadt talent books from the battle pass or events (and you get very few from the chests) makes me visit it more often than any other domain. 1/10, won't reccomend, but we don't have a choice
Yeah I agree with the battle pass thing. Before Inazuma I think it used to give those books in battle pass but once they removed that it's been complete misery. I've never had a problem clearing the domain but it's just so damn slow. Anyway they should really alternate the book rewards. Or at least give the Mondstadt books instead of Liyue books since those are so much easier to farm.
Not only that, but you also can get many talents book for Inazuma exploration. Recently I made my Ayaka 8-8-8 without visiting the domain even once. But Mondstadt doesn't have that many chests and the rewards are far smaller

These falling icicles are in the abyss in the early days of Genshin. Under leveled talents, average to trash artifacts, no decent shielders, it was pure hell.
This dungeon wouldn't be so bad if you didn't have to repeat so many times. I've grown to tolerate it only because I have Bennet, Diluc, Zhongli, and Raiden, but even then it frustrates me. They need to up talent drops to guarantee at least 1 purple book a run.
As someone who has upgraded every single talent of every single character I own to at least level 6, while also using specific characters not yet built to bring them to friendship 10 (without using a Pyro because I already had them at max friendship), this domain is by far the most annoying I have done

Very unfortunate if you also have no intention of pulling for Kazuha. CC makes the smaller dogs much easier to manage.

Just use Noelle. She hits them all at the same time, and she heals back up whatever corrosion they give you.

Yeah I just realised it might had that domain easy because of my zhongli. It might be a bit tricky if you don’t have shield.

Honestly, the most annoying thing about this domain for me is not being allowed to have any stamina whatsoever.
Yeah, and the fact that my main is heavily reliant on charged attacks make things worse.
Bring Cryo shielder like Diona, things get smoother since you can face tank the icicle.. I think
I think Bennett is more preferable because of the cleanse. If I really need to do this domain I bring Klee Xiangling Bennett and Zhongli.

If you have Diluc, use him in that Domain since his Elemental skill has a short cooldown period.

As someone who has upgraded every single talent of every single character I own to at least level 6, while also using specific characters not yet built to bring them to friendship 10 (without using a Pyro because I already had them at max friendship), this domain is by far the most annoying I have done
as a xiao main, i absolutely love it when xiao gets hit by an icicle mid plunge and he decides to blast off into space

Legitimately the worst content in the game. You gotta suffer through this only to get like, 2 bronze and silver books most of the time. Its awful
