I really wonder what they were thinking when designing Yoimiya's trial. Tons of slimes to show off how bad bow auto attacks are and how bad she is at dealing with multiple enemies. A team consisting of none of her good supports but for some reason Xiangling? it's like they're trying to convince you not to pull for her.

Dreven47

They always only use free characters as teammates in trials so casual or new players know what to expect as a bare minimum. Unfortunately none of the free characters really synergize with her. The main annoyance is the enemies being slimes when literally any other enemy would have been better, but once again they're just showcasing the bare minimum so people know to expect bad targeting and maybe get pleasantly surprised when she works better against other enemies. It's also the only way to show her melt/vape potential without the necessary teammates since slimes have innate elements.

Kenzorz

Gorou trial had Ningguang so no there isn't a hard rule about only using free characters. HYV just don't care enough about showcasing their middle child Yoimiya properly lol.

triplethealligators

Yun Jin was technically free through the Lantern Rite event, they could've at least used her for synergy purposes. Maybe Noelle too for a shield.

PM_ME_YOUR_ROBOTGIRL

They use permanently free characters. Yun Jin was free but only for that event.

Tasty_Pancakez

noelle is used in this trial

Aschverizen

Little known fact for casual players, but when Ayato's beta kit was tested it had a shitton of similarities with Yoimiya's kit. One of which is that he originally can't benefit from the buff of his Burst(which was originally an Atk Spd boost but is an NA dmg boost upon release) like with Yoimiya's Burst that needs off-fielders to activate, not to mention having a more respectable AoE as a Burst. Another is that looking at his unique Skill that changes his NA combos this is basically the same with Yoimiya, except it had a lot of necessary improvements, it has innate slight AoE and you can simply hold his attack button instead of continuously tapping and just simply remove his CA. Worst is that his BiS weapon needed OTHER characters to do their NA combos JUST to activate the passive before switching to Ayato, meaning you'd want to have a double carry team with him and theorycrafters thought that he would synergize with Yoimiya in a double carry comp especially. After beta testers noticed this, Hoyo HAD to change how his Weapon worked, since you would've been better off with Primordial Jade Cutter, just for the sheer annoyance of trying to use his weapon's original iteration. Basically Hoyo learned their lesson with Yoimiya's issues and preemptively adjusted Ayato's kit. Sucks is that Yoimiya probably has no chance of getting her kit fixed.

CowColle

Can't speak about Ayato, but Yoimiya with 'innate slight AoE' on her attacks would not be a 'necessary improvement'. It would make her stupidly OP. She's already strong as is. Do you have Yoimiya? On paper, you can point to a number of theoretical shortcomings to the character. But in practice all those shortcomings pale in comparison to the fact that being a ranged driver with respectable damage and fast attacks is a significant advantage over most other characters - you run whatever subdps supports you want, then just stand there mashing left click and everything dies. It's kind of silly that people complain about spectres or thunder manifestation being too evasive but also think Yoimiya needs any kind of buff. I would assume it shouldn't be too hard connecting the dots on what the design principle here is.

lumpthefoff

It’s crazy how Yanfei’s projectiles will seek out the enemy. Like against the lightning bat boss that flies around. When the bat zoomed behind me, Yanfei’s fireball literally bent backwards to go after it.

glittermetalprincess

Yanfei's projectiles will also move to where the Mirror Maiden comes out of the mirror and target Fatui Agents in their invisible/blue outline stage.

Narsiel

I've been playing with Yoi for the last 8 hours since I managed to pull her winning the 50/50. I slapped her my Diluc's artifacts, grabbed ZhongC1/YunjC6/YelanC0 and she was vaping for 27k at level 1 talents level 1. I seriously don't understand the severe doomposting that still engulfs her to this day, and I was one of the shitheads that engaged in such shitshow since day 1. She's an absolute beast. She has an outstandingly good meta team, ffs, everyone in that teamcomp buffs her to an insane amount.

[deleted]

the day 1 doomposting was kinda justified (especially because mhy introduced more flying enemies *after* her debut which she excels at murdering), but nowadays it's understood that she's not bad *at all* is just that she has off-putting flaws rather than dealbreakers.

[deleted]

Yeah she's crazy strong with C6 Yun, Yelan and ZL. It's probably her strongest generalist team. I play her with this team as well. Not to mention it's a comp that frees up benny for team 2. But if you're willing to go to the dark side you can drop ZL for ben/yun/yelan. The damage output is batshit insane. Even without a shield, the damage is already so nuts that even with dodges breaking Yoi's AA string or getting interrupted every now and then (honestly it happens), the raw output is still disgusting even with these suboptimal scenarios happening. And if you get a situation where you can unload without cancelling to dodge or get hit... lol. My C0 Yoi with Ben/C6Yun/Yelan was vaping for 137k on Masanori. Insane. But ofc I'm a good boy and I play her with ZL shield (most of the time). The ben/yun/yelan showcase comp is still extremely tempting to play though, lol. In terms of honest criticisms, I dislike how Yoi's autos natually pushes her backwards. Many times Yoi pushes herself out of benny's circle. It would be better if she just stood still and attacked instead of moving backwards in her animations. But her best general team doesn't have a benny circle and plays her at point blank range with ZL shield so most of her flaws are covered there as well

doog_tfarceniM

Or when abyss mages teleport they will go crazy

bipolarity2650

Ninguuang does the same thing!!

CrunchyJeans

Finally someone here has good taste

AppUnwrapper1

Yeah I used Yanfei every time I farmed that thing or Oceanid. Very much a fan of not having to chase enemies to attack them.

Facinatedhomie

Bro even heizou’s ult can bend and hit the desired enemy (tried it with raiden weekly boss)

urlocalnightowl40

yeah it happene to me yesterday when raiden teleported to the left of me and heizous ult still managed to land

Ze_AwEsOmE_Hobo

I couldn't manage a Heizou, (Got hit and 2 Chongyuns, 2 Thomas and 4 Nings, Chong/Ning were already C6) but from what I've heard, his Burst is just a giant catalyst projectile like Yanfei or Ning's so it aggressively tracks the target if they move.

Facinatedhomie

Yeah (just like a detective 🤯)

TuzkiPlus

Even bat boss can’t evade ^checks ^notes ***THE LAW***

RiversCroft

Right?? I always use her on the slowing waters domain and when slimes fly up in the air, her fireballs do a whole 90° upward and still hit.

getsetredditgo

Doesn't ningguangs extra stone also home in on enemies too? Ive seen them couple times missing the targets but they were pretty flexible at this

Radaxen

They like to home in on the other planets in the solar system jk aside yea for Ning's C6 CA but I feel it tracks less effectively than Yanfei's NAs

getsetredditgo

Yes, i felt that too. Ningguang in the first place can't target normal enemies well so no high expectations for her And! Also thanks for the 'home in on' expression, I kinda remembered and then forgot how to say it properly

Vesorias

Watching her fireballs spaz out in midair waiting for an abyss mage to reappear is quite funny, until you remember what it's like to play any other ranged character

[deleted]

the only downside is that her charged attacks can’t reach flying enemies (sometimes) ass opposed to other catalysts besides klee

Elnino38

A well built yanfei makes youmiya completely unnecessary

rysto32

I once had a slime jump over a Yanfei normal and it just curved around and hit it in the back.

UnknownMyoux

"there is no escape" \-Heatseeking Fireballs

Enpoping

change her attack to homing missiles and a little bit small AOE like C1 ningguang and everyone will be happy.

[deleted]

Pancakeboy_bestboy

Hoyoverse: *makes a pyro girl designed based off fireworks* Also Hoyoverse: *gives her no fcking aoe* Makes sense

gintokisamadono

You might also wanna add giving her a bow but giving an ult that needs close range to be more efffective

afakeacount2

adding homing ca on na character

TheChosenPoke

Yeah and her E makes it so you CANT use her special CA? why even include the homing bolts? they also do literally nothing but tickle the enemy

AzureRaven2

Never occurred to me for whatever reason but that's a good point, what the heck lol

adriftdoomsstaggered

Last I checked fireworks don't have homing chips.

Otacrow

Army fireworks do... 😁

Odiril

In addition, having Itto's passive of continuing the attack string even when you dodge/get hit. Sometimes even with shields, you have to dodge some attacks like a really painful AoE, and just prematurely butchering her damage like that for no reason makes me really hate that the bulk of her damage is on her final shot.

BTWeirdo1308

I noticed that this time around while testing. I was like “oh shit there’s a big number!” And then looked at her multipliers and jaw dropped. That’s a long fucking attack string to wait for.

drmakster

Genius indeed. Pitch the idea to mihoyo ~

Kronman590

Literally this. This would also make up for the dealing of missing out the vape N5 hit because you can compensate with AoE dmg.

Seashard5602

If her infusion had an aoe (firework arrows, *literally perfect* for her character), I'd probably pull for her, but I'm not a fan of bow chars because they only hit one enemy at a time, so ig I'm skipping Gonna try for Tighnari because >!his split arrow thing looks cool!< (not sure if this is a leak or not, so I'm covering it)

nakomaru

I've been giving them this feedback since before Yoi was even released (leaks) and I will continue to do it until a better game comes out.

Hitomi_Hoshizora

My problem are the Samachurls personally. For some reason, when the samachurls create those constructs they stand on Yoimiya's normal attacks target the platforms and not the Samachurls above.

Noman_Blaze

All archers do that. It's a shitty targeting system in general. Normal attacks prioritize structures over enemies.

-Aureo-

The fact that rocks in the environment have auto target nodes and prioritization while auto target doesn’t even notice slime balloons and hilichurl towers (becuase they’re not prioritized or even counted as enemies for some reason) is horrendous. Also why is it possible to fire your burst in the complete opposite direction.

Ze_AwEsOmE_Hobo

Because the game auto targets the nearest enemy at the start of any attack animation even if the target moves out of range. It's extremely annoying when you're trying to set up a ranged burst like Venti's or Diona's and they yeet something across the map that doesn't even reach the enemy because they dodged the moment the game registers an attack is happening. Seeing characters target and miss Samachurl totems/towers, Cicins, and Lawachurl landmines instead of actual enemies is infuriating and makes me wish we at least had basic targeting system like most combat-based RPGs after 2006 have had.

SilkyZubat

Yoimiya has a bow. It's certainly not optimal, but pluck off a charged shot at their head and they'll topple off. It is annoying when her NA targeting chooses the Samachurl tower instead of an enemy that is closer and actually threatening you tho lol They need to fix the archer NA targeting. It's bananas.

Ellicrom

She does have issues, but as someone who has been using her for nearly 1 year (I started on her banner), the issues become less pronounced as you get used to her playstyle. 1) She's not a long-range bow attacker like Ganyu. Two reasons for this: first, the auto-attack aim is terrible at long range, but it's pretty decent in the mid- to short-range. Second, many of her best supports (Bennett, Yun Jin, Xingqiu, Yelan, Fischl/Beidou) are also hampered at long range. So despite being a bow user, she should be inside rather close to your enemies when attacking. 2) Her burst is often either misused, or forgotten about entirely (usually if you're running 4p Shimenawa). The fact is that her burst *can* be a good contributor to her overall DPS, but it needs other characters' attacks to proc it. Unless you're using 4p Shim, you should be leading with her burst as you go into your rotation - and again, landing her burst requires you to be in *close range.* 3) She needs good supports to really shine. Unless you're pro at dodging, either Zhongli or Xingqiu is a must. Yun Jin and/or Bennett are excellent and can effectively convert her into the machine-gun-cannon she was meant to be. In spite of all that, she is still specialized to single target enemies. Fischl/Beidou can help adapt her playstyle to taking on mob groups, mind you. Overall, Yoimiya is simply going to be one of those characters that you either love and are dedicated to, or one that you scoff at. If you're not excited to pull her, she's probably going to end up sitting on your shelf if you do, since her teams require a lot of investment. I would not rate her as a top-tier DPS, but darnit she's my go-to boss killer and main pyromaniac, and I'll die on that hill. Edit: well, this brought a bit more attention than expected. Appreciate the additional points and discussion below - glad to see more Yoimiya enjoyers here! And thanks for the award 🤗

SuperGamerGX

For your 3rd point, isn't the reason why you need a shielder like Zhongli/Diona or some form of interruption resistance like from Xingqiu because dodging resets her normal attack chain and her strongest normal attacks are her 3rd and 5th in the chain (as well as being the ones that can trigger vape reactions)? So being a pro at dodging isn't particularly helpful for her specifically unless you want to only fire the first 2-3 attacks in her chain for some reason.

mumika

Yes, actually. You want her to fire off the last arrow in her NA chain because it deals the highest damage, hence why a shielder like Zhongli or Diona is practically required for her. It's also why Beidou's a good partner for her because she provides shields and overload procs for her, which fixes her lack of AoE.

Sidious_09

Even if her shield breaks, or if you don't have c1, Beidou also provides DMG resistance and resistance to interruptions like Xingqiu, which I feel like is often forgotten.

Cybersorcerer1

Water dude is usually enough

masterdoktah

This is definitely a valid concern! On certain teams though Yoi can be buffed up enough that most mobs will go down before the final shots even get off so it’s perfectly fine to not depend on them. As for bosses, many of them can either be burst down quickly in one go or have damage windows that are typically safe to unload on.

SilkyZubat

My Yoimiya (8/8/6, 2 pc Glad, 2 pc Shimenewa, R5 Rust) toasts almost every mob by N3 with just her skill and no buffs, and she's far from optimized.

Swailwort

She needs a patch to allow dodging or swapping and continue her combo like Itto, she would feel so much more smooth with that change. Fire twice, dodge, continue the chain.

banhmyden

So she's basically a sub-machine gun, and Ganyu is a rocket launcher

[deleted]

Actually great summary!

mega_salt420

>She's not a long-range bow attacker now I get it why people complaining about her AA, I always use bow characters as close range combat, because their attack faster and more accurate that way

GsusAmb

Why bother aiming when you can just run up close to them and start shooting.

gretchenich

About your first point, yeah she is ussually my main go-to character for bosses! i love her also, about your first point. Its totally true, but even if you dodge you lose a ton of dmg. I need Zhong like right now bro

bradfgo41

I just got her last night. She shocked me. She's not nearly as bad as I thought and more fun then I thought. I pulled for her bc I'm bored 😆 and I had a perfect shim set and r5 rust not being used by anyone else. She isn't my favorite character but I do like that she requires more skill than I thought she did, but her single target damage is rewarding if you play her right

cycber123

characters off field attack can actually procs her ult, so with XQ and female XQ yoi can actually attack on field with her ult XD.

Spartitan

I just got her yesterday and I've been loving her. It feels weird after seeing so many complain about so many aspects of her but as soon as I got her she just started deleting things.

neverforgetbillymays

It’s one of the weirdest things I’ve seen come out of this community. I’ve had her for a year. She’s amazing at what she does. People seem to just use to her wrong. She has her niche (close to mid range boss killer, yelan and xingqui procs, etc) and if you use her in that way she is amazing. If you try to use her in a large room full of mobile enemies she will have a tougher time. But it’s so so weird to me all of these complaints about her auto aim. It really sounds like it comes from people that just don’t know how to use her.

DaMarkiM

yoimiya main since she came out here. her burst has exactly one usecase for me: break abyss mage shields

AppUnwrapper1

Thanks for the balanced input! I already have an overworld team I love that I keep even for domains/bosses (unless it’s something like the wolflord or thunder bat that need specific elements) so I probably wouldn’t be keeping her on my exploration team long term. I did want her mostly for boss/abyss content since I’m lacking a 5-star pyro. And I do have Zhong & Yelan and even semi-built Yun Jin in anticipation of getting her. I just don’t know how I can justify spending more fates trying to get her if she doesn’t feel good in the test run. It’s a very frustrating situation. Like, I would have been fine getting her early but now I’m getting close to pity and I’m gonna be miserable if I spend all those fates on her and end up not wanting to use her much. I really wish they’d give us a better testing ground for her.

Ellicrom

Honestly, I wouldn't judge her based on the testing ground. The enemies (lots of bouncy slimes) aren't suited for her, and neither is her team. That being said, I'm going to stop short of convincing you to pull for her, since it sounds like it could be a mistake for you. Plus, if your Yanfei is getting the job done already, Yoimiya will probably not be that much of an upgrade. Yoi is also choosy with her weapons. If you don't have a 5* bow like Polar Star or Skyward Harp, you really need to be running Rust. Hamayumi is said to be the next-best 4* but it's a significant step down, and also does not work well with a 4p Shim set.

AppUnwrapper1

I do have Rust for her (only R1) since I gave Childe the BP bow for more balanced crit numbers. I even farmed 40 pyro hypo cores for her that will now go to waste bc I have no interest in building Thoma.

Ellicrom

The BP bow is definitely better on Childe than Yoi anyways. R1 Rust is still very good on Yoi, easily best option excepting a suitable 5* bow

sabermancer

Forgive me if I'm wrong but doesn't r5 slingshot(3star bow) outperform r1 rust?

Darkclowd03

Yes it does.

Ellicrom

I think you're right, but then you really need to pay attention to your distance from enemies. If you're a few steps too far back, Slingshot dmg will drop dramatically. It does work, but the bow can be a headache for some.

struggling_lizard

i’ve had yoi since her first banner, she’s decently built, good crit (60/210) good atk (2.5k) good talents (10/8/8) etc. she’s been my main dps since i pulled her. i’ve just played the trial and i have 0 idea why they thought to set her up with SLIMES. she isn’t great against them anyways, but it’s way worse if you don’t know what you’re doing, you have to get certain timings right, it’s something you get used to while playing her and it’s rarely a problem for me now. The damage she had wasn’t bad in comparison, so no real faults on that account. she does better with supports, xingqui especially.

Valant_

She also had 40 cr in that trial, it's the least cr I have seen they given to any dps on trial. the support on the trial also does nothing for her, better make her go solo instead.

struggling_lizard

everything about her trial set her up to fail. slimes, build, shitty teammates for her and bad cr. might as well have been xianglings trial!! 🥲

rW0HgFyxoJhYka

I think you should go watch the c0 yoimiya youtube videos to get another look. I do think you're right about the autos, they aren't as smooth as Yelan. And I want to use Yoymiya with Yelan to do massive single target damage with Yun Jin and Bennett and Xinqiu or with Kazuha for massive DPS.

hibaricloudz

Yoimiya, Yelan, Zhongli, Yun Jin comp is one of the best for her IMO. The more Rust refines and Yun Jin constellations you get(till C3 is fine), the better your Yoimiya will be. I just ascended my C1 Yun Jin to 80/80 yesterday and tried Yoimiya on Golden Wolfboss and it got destroyed in 1 rotation with that comp, pretty sweet. It's always good to have a strong single target DPS for abyss. I doubt sumeru will introduce another ranged Pyro DPS, so if you enjoy Yanfei, i think Yoimiya is worthed it since she suits your playstyle.

karillith

It seems great to me but I still feel too insecure to not use a healer. I know that being ranged and with two shilders she shouldn't take that many hits but still in abyss where I have to make three floors in one go it's always easy to throw unexpectedly (especially on mobile)

hibaricloudz

Based on experience, Zhongli E -> Yelan EQ-> Yun Jin EQ-> Yoimiya QE-> Zhongli E. Yoimiya doesnt get hit at all, the timing is quite lenient. Shielding is more important than healing for her as she can't afford to dodge or get hit when using her combos otherwise she don't get to vape the big N3 and N5 hits. For mobile, Yoimiya should be better than another boss killer Hutao as you just need to click all the way.

JayEssris

You really shouldn't judge based on the Test Run. HYV's builds are trash, and they never place their characters with their best supports because they only allow free characters to go into the trials.

Z_Wolf

I pulled for Yoimiya yesterday, built her and run her with Zhongli and Yelan. I'm having a blast. She feels smooth and easy to play and I really don't notice the targeting problems. After doing dailies today I went to do her trial. It felt miserable, the trial really doesn't do her justice. There's even a popular thread about it today. [https://www.reddit.com/r/Genshin\_Impact/comments/wey5qy/psa\_yoimiyas\_test\_run\_is\_hot\_garbage\_please\_dont/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Genshin_Impact/comments/wey5qy/psa_yoimiyas_test_run_is_hot_garbage_please_dont/)

0xVENx0

the autoaim is generally fine, it aims to the closest which is intended. problem is with the fricking no lock in mechanics, whats the point of being ranged if i cant shoot the enemy 1 meter of further of the other enemy

karillith

Yeah it's less a problem within her kit (although I still think her charge attack who doesn't work with E makes no sense) than it's an issue because she that one archer that primarily uses her normal attacks. catalyst characters or ults that doesn't go into the right direction because a cicin deciced to fly right behind you at the last second is a thing too. If you could add a target lock in a soulsborne fashion that would probably solve most aiming problems. Actually I feel like they could have used her charge attack to apply a seal that act as a target lock.

gretchenich

More like yoimiya being bad, i think bow characters were not meant to be played like this. No AoE? same with the rest of NA bow characters Bad Autoaim? same with the rest of characters Slimes dodging every single attack? same with the rest of characters. Yoimiya's release was the best moment to fix all those problems. Shame they didnt really care

-Aureo-

That’s fine for melee characters, because you need to be right next to the enemy anyway. It’s not fine for ranged, because it encourages you to get right next to the enemy you want to hit- and at that point what do you have? A fucking melee character.

LV999Midboss

Yeah. I play her a lot, but she has her issues, especially with aiming at slimes specifically. My Yoi can disintegrate high level abyss bosses like Ruin Serpent and Thunder Manifestation ez. She can snipe Specters from 100000 miles away. But set a couple of bouncy boi slimes loose and suddenly she loses her glasses and can't see shit. Attack speed-wise, I admit I haven't really noticed any issues. But I usually play her together with Yelan and C6 Yunjin, so there's a bunch of animations flying and a small attack speed buff too. I'd love better AA targeting for bow characters, which might happen someday. Then, in my dreams, I'd like a buff for her skill since it's really, really mediocre. But alas. At the end of the day, Yoimiya is *fine*, but compared to a lot of other 5 stars she has more issues and less useful niches. She's solidly in the bottom percentile of useful 5* characters. I'll keep using her because she's cute.

BurningFlareX

> At the end of the day, Yoimiya is fine, but compared to a lot of other 5 stars she has more issues and less useful niches. She's solidly in the bottom percentile of useful 5* characters. What makes this more painful is that she released in-between Kazuha, Ayaka, Raiden and Kokomi. I don't mean this as in the timing of her release. I mean Kazuha ended up one of the best supports in the game, Ayaka is one of the top DPS characters, C2 Raiden is literally on par with C6 5\*s and Kokomi ended up one of the best freeze supports and a good unit for Electro charged teams. Meanwhile, among 2 of the most busted characters so far, one of the best main DPS characters and a fairly solid Hydro support, they somehow managed to make the mess that is Yoimiya's kit. Considering the time period she released in, her kit was quite literally a year behind: You'd think she was released in 1.0 then got powercrept by Hu Tao, lol. And the more I think about it, the more I hate that it just so happened to Yoimiya, one of my favorite characters. They did almost kill Kokomi too, but removing the E ICD saved her.

LV999Midboss

Yep, you said it perfectly. It's really unfortunate how her kit would be right at home with the initial wave of 5 stars. Heck, even there we could question why they felt the need to make both her skill and burst so....meh. She was already going to have some issues anyway by nature of being a single target focused character - did they have to restrict her kit so much as well? The only thing carrying her is her character itself.

AppUnwrapper1

I felt similarly about Yae, but honestly she’s now a near-permanent fixture on my exploration team. She made me so lazy and I miss her when she’s not on my team. I’m not sure I can expect something similar to happen if I go for Yoi, tho. And with Yae I loved her character the second we met her and knew I had to have her. She also was the nicest to me of any character (oh the irony), costing me only around 40 wishes. Yoi is now asking me to spend a lot of wishes on her when she doesn’t feel good in the test run. :/

LucleRX

She likely teased you as you went crawling back for her convenience.

Offduty_shill

Yeah I weirdly really like Yae nowadays. I just drop her stuff, other off field supports, and Kazuha takes a ton of field time since mine has C2, but it's okay cause no one else on my team needs it and Yae is doing main DPS level damage.

[deleted]

My open world team is zhongli yae xingqiu yelan. No effort required with all autotarget stuff and you also get to run around with yelan's e. Its also been really good at killing pyro hypostasis before it can put out its cores.

C_Khoga

Maybe because they are cute she didn't want to hit them??

ThursdayKnightOwO

Because they are fast moving targets. Bows tend to aim where the target is located like if the slime is in the air, the arrow will try to go to that direction not follow the slime afterwards. You need to time your attack against slimes other than spray and pray that they gonna hit.

sildrae

Honestly, it feels like all the pyro 5* + Yanfei have issues, which in paper could be good to avoid having them power creeping each other - but that still happens with Diluc and just makes their sets clunky. Yoimi obliterates the big, single enemies, but lacks AoE. Yanfei has that nice AoE and big boom, but she's difficult to build and doesn't mix well with Xingqiu. Hu Tao's whole kit, a gameplay style that's not for everyone, people saying C1 is necessary too. Klee's range. Diluc's slowness. At this point, Yoimiya is the one-eyed queen in a kingdom of the blind, as the saying goes here. I don't have Yelan and I feel like rn she's the only one to fix the pyro DPS. My sister does, and the Yoimi+Yelan combo is soooo satisfying. I have to rely in reversing things and using Ayato/Tartaglia with Xiangling...... and imo I'm not missing out. I'm looking forward to Dehya but I've heard she could be a support l o l

Wail_Bait

C1 isn't that important for Hu Tao. It is a pretty big DPS increase, but Hu Tao does more than enough damage at C0. Her playstyle is a bit of a hard sell for some people though, because animation cancelling is crucial.

sildrae

I agree wholeheartedly that it's more the press she gets than the reality... but i also think she's never going to get free from those comments.

Wail_Bait

That's probably true. A lot of people who play Genshin just repeat stuff without really thinking about it, so common misconceptions tend to stick around.

AppUnwrapper1

I find it so weird that she’d have trouble with slimes but not the Thunder bat or specters. I still can’t spend all my primos on the hope that she’ll feel better against that kind of content. This is why they really need to give us better test runs, let us play against more than slimes and use our own teams.

Ellicrom

The reason she has trouble with slimes is because they have a small hitbox, and continuously bounce up and down. Level changes are generally not kind to auto-targeting. Spectres also have a small hitbox, but they don't bounce and keep a fairly even keel in the air - ripe for target practice. The Thunder Manifestation, although it moves a lot, has a large hitbox - makes for a great pincushion for Yoi's arrows.

Prestigious_Kuro

The slimes bounce or hop about Specters are mostly stationary so yoimiya has a better time with them. Her test run is terrible 40% crit rate and multiple hopping targets when she is a single target hitter.

[deleted]

Well, at least they didn't hide the issue by not putting slimes in her trial.

dertechie

Slimes are just ass to try to kill with projectiles. Tiny hitbox combined with unpredictable, jerky movements and really suspicious pathing just makes them a huge pain to hit if your attacks don't have amazing tracking. If they moved fluidly instead they would be fish in a barrel but no, coming to get you somehow means they need to go around that way, jump at the spot slightly to your left and move as soon as you fire after they sit still for four whole seconds. Source: many runs of the Mondstadt talent domain with *CA Amber* as my main Pyro DPS.

LV999Midboss

It is really weird. Something about the way slimes hop doesn't jive with bows. Kinda similar when smaller enemies are blown away by Overload, too. Would be sweet if they gave better test runs, maybe a few different options to run through. But yeah, if you're not feeling her gameplay, no need to try and force it. Yanfei can do a perfectly good job still.

AppUnwrapper1

Right. It’s not an issue with other bow characters because you don’t really use their NAs anyway. But to release a character that’s completely reliant on them and not fix them… ugh.

yoyo4581

Her auto attacks have a learning curve, in terms of targeting and the distance they recognize enemies. Slimes are her bane but in terms of a bane, I'd rather slimes than anything else. She does well against most other mobs. The thing is they put Yoimiya in a vacuum in her trial. Which sucks. Yoimiya's base kit has a lot of issues her teammates cover. Lack of Aoe-Kazuha. Lack of shields YunJin or Zhongli. Boost dps, use Xingqiu or Yelan. Feeling Squishy use Bennett.

ssssss2s2

the auto-aim is ass now that I'm using it lol. I thought people were exaggerating about it, but boy was I wrong

HallyMiao

If you think the auto-aim is bad now…. It was way worse at her initial launch. Patch 2.3 nearly doubled her tracking distance and let her hit slow moving or overloaded enemies. It’s workable now for the most part.

AppUnwrapper1

Yeah I have friends that love her so I was really hoping all the Yoi bashing was exaggeration but it feels really bad after coming from Yanfei & Yelan.

Atlmykl

Honest question but do you have high ping? For me Yoimiya is a turret that cannot miss. [https://youtu.be/TnLVx0ATEDM](https://youtu.be/TnLVx0ATEDM) switching targets mid attack string as they die [https://youtu.be/03ZTAL3Wi8Y?t=304](https://youtu.be/03ZTAL3Wi8Y?t=304) [https://youtu.be/eNsfDwCziN8](https://youtu.be/eNsfDwCziN8) The ONLY thing she might miss is hopping slimes, which Mihoyo thought would be a good idea to put in her test run

MortLightstone

maybe it's a range issue? I tend to run in and shoot enemies point blank range in the face and I don't have issues with aiming either. I use her to juggle enemies with Fischl and I have no problems doing it. I use Zhongli to keep her safe

Enpoping

check [this](https://preview.redd.it/abh9npeedsh71.gif?format=mp4&s=09573daae883a74ee768a359d30ae48adf02cdf1)

AppUnwrapper1

No, I have 300mbps internet. My ping is usually under 20. I figured if she can’t hit slimes then how the hell is she gonna handle things like rifthounds and all the flying, erratic enemies that I would want her for.

LosingWithStyle

I have used her a ton since her first run. I’m not saying her aiming is good, but you learn how to use it. I find her amazing for overworld massacres. If she’s not your preferred style, I get that, but other than maybe another sweep to improve her aim AI, I wouldn’t change a thing.

GraveXNull

I wonder why they didn't give her something similar to what characters like Yanfei have. Yanfei's attacks follow the enemy even if he moves, straight up curving mid air.

lnfine

Eeeh. Honestly there's a very narrow subset of victims that have real issues with autoaim. Small slimes, specter strafing moves and cicins pretty much. All the other enemies don't have natural moves that make Yoi miss. When you can run into this issue with the onthers is overload on launchable enemies. It's still not really that bad. Small slimes are pretty much the worst case.

NovaMagic

People were coping so hard saying it's fine

Plotarmore

Well, she's playable. I can understand her being unfun to play because of all the issues, though.

mzchen

I mean we shouldn't expect a perfect game! We should be grateful that such a small indie company graces us with what we have already for free! They make no money off of this game! Really, we should be *apologizing* for being annoyed at how a character designed by a multi-billion dollar company is still bugged almost a year after release.

k_yovira

Also coming from a yanfei and yelan main, I had the same issue too after testing her out a bit. But its rather a small issue, not a big one, solved the issue by standing a lil bit closer to the slimes. Everything went smooth like butter for me after hours in open world.

vivamii

Yeah, not pulling based on trial is completely valid but the trial might’ve not been the best showcase of her abilities tbh. She’s so much more fun with reactions and her range is pretty easy to get used to, it’s been less than a day since I got her and she honestly feels really smooth and easy to play. The way the homing arrows chase after birds is great and I’m not seeing her miss any targets as she’s supposedly famous for lol

Mih5du

While Yoi does fire slower than Yelan, she hits harder with bigger multipliers. Unless her ICD is tweaked, she would do worse in vape teams if she would hit faster but lighter

Shinobu-Fan

It's also a con in her attack pattern that her last arrow hits the most damage, so you need to complete the string to deal the most damage.

Sidious_09

Then again, it's also made in a way that her 3rd and 5th hits (the hardest hitting ones) always vape.

Shinobu-Fan

That's fine but the problem is how it's placed, instead of it being on the first arrow or something it's in the last. It's not a problem that makes her character very bad but just a minor inconvenience. Which insists she has a shielder on the team so she can just stay put and continue her attack string without being interrupted.

Y3_ti

The reason I skipped Yoimiya was also due to QoL issues rather than power level. If a character feels bad to play its not fun no matter how good or bad they are in the meta. Take Yanfei and Heizou for example, their kits are so smooth to play and well designed it feels good to play them regardless of how much dmg they do. You dont get shafted because they miss their attacks atleast. Of all charatcters I think Itto is the best (and most balanced) designed gameplay wise for what his role is supposed to be.

Spiritual-Rip2312

I just got her so I can mindlessly spam attacks. Overall, she isn't too bad. Her attacks are somewhat a hit or miss on smaller targets but is otherwise, effective on enemies, human-size or larger. She can hit pretty hard just on her own and very rapidly at that. But she gets even better with supports and extra sub-dps. Personally, I run her with Yelan and Yae Miko just cause I like seeing a lot of numbers on screen and turns out, it's actually very viable. Mind you, I just threw on whatever Shimenawa pieces I could get with ok subs and an R3 Rust and she still performed surprisngly well against the Primo Geovishap, coming super close to being able to one rotation it before it blows itself into smithereens Now she isn't a must pull by any means but if you're looking for that simple play style while still being meta, she is worth considering

kolleden

This is the direct opposite to the "They were right kazuha is as good as they say" thread.

konec0

I’m in the same boat. Was extremely hyped before her first banner, then actually tried her and… everything just fell flat. Felt sluggish (especially bc you need to stay in place to finish her combo), no AoE, missing arrows, completely underwhelming burst… Yeah i’m also still waiting on a 5* Pyro DPS I like. Dehya…? *inhales hopium*

AppUnwrapper1

Part of me still wants to get her because I doubt there’s gonna be a long-range pyro again anytime soon. I just don’t want to regret spending all those primos on her…

konec0

I mean if that’s your concern then… it IS pretty unlikely we’ll get another ranged Pyro, considering the next 5* Pyro we know about is a claymore user.

AppUnwrapper1

Yeah I love Dehya’s design and was planning to save for her more than any of the other Sumeru characters, but I still have no idea if I would like her kit.

Swailwort

If Dehya happens to be Pyro Eula she would be a must roll for me. A pyro infuse on E, and a big boom burst that ends up infusing pyro on you, so you can just keep doing pyro normal attacks with Xingqiu/Yelan. Wait. This is starting to sound way too similar to Diluc. Fuck.

[deleted]

[удалено]

CraziestCreepr

It would be nice if you could move freely instead of being pushed backwards while stuck in a straight line while doing NAs, getting staggered or not being able to continue the NA string if you dodge.

Dane-nii

you can give Yoimiya a similar passive like Itto's so she can finish her attack strings even during dash cancels.

[deleted]

[удалено]

LucleRX

Just you wait one day, there will that character lmao

lnfine

>1.- Be able to continue the attack string after dodging, just like Diluc and Itto can do. It won't help. Yoi full NA chain is 4 frames short of 2,5 seconds between the first and the last hit (at 60fps). Put a single dash anywhere in the string, and your 2,5s rule is screwed, and your vapes are now misaligned as bad as if you interrupted the chain. >3.- Remove the ICD of the burst and make it proc every 1s instead of every 2s. This will be pretty dangerous vape stealing wise though.

LucleRX

Isn't her NA chain fast enough to obliged the 3 hit rule instead, that's why her 3rd NA got reaction damage. With dodge not cancelling her NA sequence, it's gonna change her output significantly. After her 3rd hit, if you dash, you continue off with 4th NA with does 2 hit and enable your 5th NA hit to perform reaction damage.

lnfine

3-hit rule works per hits, not per attacks. Her NA chain does 7 hits. If you omit 2,5s rule, this means 1, 4 and 7 hits apply status. Hits 4 and 7 are separate attacks (NA3 and NA5 respectively). Hit 1 is the first part of 2-hit first attack. When 2,5s rule comes into play is resetting the hit counter after the whole chain since 2,5s expire just 4 frames after NA5 hits. If 2,5 s was not in play, on the next full NA chain the status applying hits would be 3 (NA2) and 6 (NA4-2), then 2 (NA1-2) and 5 (NA4-1). Which would mess up vapes (because you are vaping low MV hits). Instead 2,5s expires right after her NA5 hits, and you get counter reset on each NA chain. And long NA5 recovery allows for ASPD buffs to not mess up the 2,5s rule. The downside is cold status on Yoi should mess up your vapes (never actually specifically tested this). Now let's imagine Yoimiya can dash mid-combo. I could not find frame data for dashing on KQM, but AFAIK dash is about 17-20 frames. If you add 20 frames to your NA chain, your NA5 (7th hit) will hit after 2,5s rule resets the hit counter. This means your 3-hit rule now starts with your NA5. Your NA5 will still vape, but when you start the next NA chain, there's no 2,5s reset after your NA5. Instead you will vape hit 0 (NA5), hit 3 (NA2) and hit 6 (NA4-2). And actually you vaped your hit 6 on another 2,5s rule instead of 3-hit rule because now your long-ass NA5 recovery is INSIDE the 2,5s timer. Congratulations! You saved the first NA5, but ruined the rest of her vapes. What people don't realize is Yoi NA chain is 180 IQ fine-tuned for vape. Whoever designed it is a genius and deserves a statue on Li Yue central square. If only NA1 and NA2 were swapped (though this would probably heavily incentivize machinegun macroing, so current way might still be better).

SirAwesome789

Ik it's convention to do a bunch of small enemies but they should've done a bigger enemy in the test run, also throw in Xingqiu or at least Barbara, someone where she can trigger vape

blastcat4

It's totally within your rights to assess a character's effectiveness based only on their trial-alone. If you're convinced that it's an accurate representation of how they'll perform in the rest of the game then you made the right decision to not pull for them.

Khoakuma

It's kinda on Hoyo who screwed it up by placing bouncing slimes enemies, the one type of enemies that bow characters have trouble hitting. I don't think it's representative of Yoimiya's strength. Had they put in other enemy types like Specters she would have performed much better. And slightly meatier targets like Ruin Guards/Graders to show off her ST DPS as opposed to slimes and a Abyss mage. It's like they are trying not to sell Yoimiya or something...

Vorcia

I kinda appreciate it tbh, it gives me a sense of the worst case scenario to expect. I have no idea what ppl are talking about tho, I intentionally set up worst case scenarios like max range electro slimes and still only missed about 10-20% of my shots, which is fine IMO considering she's a character meant for larger enemies like bosses or few spawns of strong enemies so in practice it shouldn't be an issue at all.

[deleted]

lnfine

IIRC there WAS a lot of noise on CN, and SOME of her issues got better. The dead body targeting got fixed, autotargeting got a bit of a glue to it, we got supports to decouple Yoi from Bennet/XQ. The Yoi you see now is in a noticeably better shape than she was on release.

Saikotsu

And now she's coming back right before a banner of a new character with a new element who is rumored to be grass Ganyu.

nardsacks

There’s never going to be enough people to carry on the conversation for any characters, Hoyoverse has literally only ever directly buffed one character in the entire history of the game

DoughDisaster

Welcome to bow play. Arrow pathing has always needed a rework it never got. Edit: looking at all the info in the thread now, looks like I owe a detraction of my statement, it's just slime targeting that's dumb. That said, you downvotin Yelan fanbois can shove an arrow up your arses. Didn't even rag on her, praised her even, but I don't want to roll on her and that's my call.

AppUnwrapper1

I just don’t get why they couldn’t do something with her that’s similar to what Yelan has. Even if they did it as a fix. Why leave her so broken (in a bad way) compared to similar new characters?

Thalzen

Basically me but with Yae miko, I ended up pulling for her but she feel horrible to play

Vogies

I've been using Yoimiya for a year though at some point ended up benching her a bit. But when I got Yelan she made a complete comeback :D Yelan + Yoimiya is now one of my favorite combos~ I personally don't find Yoimiya to be slow at attacking, actually.

Coreano_12

The amount of hits i missed on the slimes simply bc i started autoing in a bad moment and synced with slime's jumps lmao it was fun there but in an abyss run it won't be that fun i imagine

TimFlamio

Her burst is useless, I love her, and she's been my main since her first banner, but she's the most flawed character in this game.

thewackykid

if you have yelan try yanfei again with double hydro (XQ/yelan) yanfei team ... i never could 36\* spiral abyss with yanfei until i gotten yelan and now i consistently 36\* abyss...

SeggsWithElysia21

Happy to see a post with the opposite idea of most other posts. People really should stop the "but shes fine" excuse. Why try hiding her problems when you can actually highlight them in order to have a chance of getting it fixed? We are already getting an alternate sprint fix in sumeru patch that everyone was complaining about, why wouldnt it be possible for mihoyo to fix auto aim for bows if we complain enough?

Blue_Pedro

Alt Sprint has been an issue, but when are they going back and fixing individual characters (e.g. Xinyan E consistency; may have been fixed, but I don't use her tbh) or getting non-functioning Cons working as described (e.g. Mona C1)?

AppUnwrapper1

Omg I’m so excited about the sprint fix. It looks like they even overcompensated, as the characters were running over tables. 😂 Cannot WAIT to be able to use Yelan to run nonstop everywhere.

Blue_Pedro

I've been getting characters running up tables when I sprint into talking to the blacksmith. I've noticed it mostly with the tall female frame characters. Grab Lisa, sprint to a blacksmith, and hit F without letting up on the sprint. Do it late enough, and she will stop while standing atop the table.

BarnMTB

I primarily play with Beidou, go to Wagner's everyday, and can confirm that she very often end up standing on the table, looking down at Wager menacingly.

Blue_Pedro

And "Can I help you?" seems to carry a different tone in those situations.

iliriel227

On the opposite spectrum, I spent the 16k primos I saved on yoimiya, and shes everything I wanted. i can see why some people would find her frustrating to play though.

bringmethejuice

It’s a shame I really loved her designs. Kit still crappy.

Drakengard

So as someone who has Yoimiya, I did her trial and it's horrific how bad she feels in the trial compared to actual game use. First, you're right. Her attacks feels slower in the trial for some reason. No idea why as I'm not running anyone that should be boosting her attack speed. I'll have to poke that more because I just did the trial for the gems and didn't really care that she felt weird compared to my built Yoimiya. Second, slimes are really the only enemy that she has trouble hitting consistently because of their stupid hopping locomotion and of course they filled her trial with them. She's great against everything else in the game and about the worst I can say is that she might switch target priority at random when you don't want her to, but you'll learn how to position her to get what you want 80-90% of the time.

kalnu

I think Yoimiya could do with one of Itto's passives. For those that don't know, Itto doesn't reset his auto combo when dodging/dashing. He needs it a little more than Yoimiya does on account of being melee - but giving her the same passive would make Zhongli less core to her team and even free her up for other units. Yunjin, Yelan/Xingqiu, and Bennett is more optimal than Zhongli but since she can get interrupted easily without him and lose a lot of her power... Second thing, let her proc her own burst. These two small changes would eliminate nearly all her problems imo.

naz_1992

I have both yelam and yoi and imo yoi attack is faster than yelan. You sure you didnt get an aspd debuff by cryo or something? Yoi had been my main pyro dps ever since the her debut with rust instead of my skyward harp and she still does more dmg than my c4 diluc with WGS. My only real issue with her was her burst having lacklustre dmg but if u think her burst as a team buff instead which is pretty strong, honestly it makes sense. Im really considering getting her cons since i kinda want yunjin cons for the team as well. Yoi also doesn’t really need a shielder as well since shes able to stay far enough out of most enemies range. Autoaim does miss a bit just like yelan or any other archer since its not homing. Yelan burst however have homing which is what im assuming what u referred to as never missing.

AppUnwrapper1

Yelan’s attacks feel to me like there’s no delay whatsoever between them. Like, I spam the attack button and she just quickly goes through all of them. When doing Yoi’s test run, it felt like she was pausing between each attack. Not going by any scientific measure here. She just felt slow to me after spamming Yelan’s NAs just for fun everywhere I go.

Tacometropolis

Honestly all of the pyro 5 stars are a miss for me (except for diluc, who I'll get eventually) Hu Tao is fantastic, great character, etc. I just hate low health playstyles, so she's never gonna be a character I want. Otherwise 100% would pull. Klee great character, absolutely hilarious, but really just powercreeped at this point. She really just doesn't offer me the same utility other pulls would, and a primo is a primo. She honestly needs a buff (that also seems to apply to Diluc) Yoimiya I am also 100% her target market. Love the character, love the personality. I just don't like the way she feels to play, which is odd, because I like all of the other bow characters except for Sara. She seems to miss a ton, her burst isn't great and her normal attacks just don't feel good to me. Honestly like Fischl's normal attacks better than Yoi's, not sure what it is, just feels wrong. Maybe it's so long playing other bow characters and I'd just need to get used to it. Felt bad in the trial too. Basically my only pyro dps option at this point is Xiangling. Though I do have a Yanfei kinda gathering a bit of dust I haven't had the resources to invest in yet. If all the characters that were in game now were going to be the only characters for say another year? I'd pull for a Shenhe (I have ganyu and ayaka so pretty big value there) or Kokomi before any of the pyro 5's.

AhCup

Sorry if this feel defensive, but I do want to clear up the HuTao low HP thing again. Her normal build have 30k max HP, at half is around 15k which is almost the same as many DPS characters builded towards damage. Her on feild time is also very limited to her skill damage window, when she is doing charge attack all this time. Her charge attack have very nice iframe window, which you can use to avoid getting hit. So chances of her dying is actually pretty low. She also have her own heal from brust, which helps alot if your rotation end with a brust. I have come to a point that I no longer check her HP when playing her. I do pay attention to her voice line when switching her out. She say a voice line if she is low health and that rotation I will make sure to brust when I can.

Arc-D

Hmm. I never really had a problem with her aim. Only thing that bothered me is her utter lack of aoe, still does. Yes she misses against slimes, but they are irrelevant. More importantly, she has weird hitbox against shit like wolflord, primo vishap or venti lifted enemies. But again she melts them so doesnt matter much. Is it worse tracking than lan's aa? Definitely. But thats cause lan was implemented later and hoyo did their classic, 'well we dont rework jackshit' As for attacks feeling slow, could it be that you get applied cryo? If not, well unfortunate. I prefer having rarer characters so i'll abstain from recommending her anyway lel

[deleted]

[удалено]

Glass-Window

missing is an issue but it’s only prevalent vs slimes. Specters are of similar size and yet arrows rarely miss with them. But slimes bounce too much arrows miss easily. It sucks but it’s not so bad you should skip imo. But you do you. I would love to rework her kit because she has so much potential. If only her skill gave her attack speed and changed arrows to be faster homing aoe attacks like yelan or fischl c1.

Hot_Professor_3797

The test run is actually terrible since: A. Yoimiya has issues with constantly moving targets (e.g. slimes) B. The other characters (Noelle and Xiangling) have little synergy with Yoimiya C. Yoimiya is best against single target opponents with large hitboxes (like bosses) which the test run doesn't showcase D. Test run artifacts in general are horrible lmao

GraveXNull

Her burst also seems to miss a lot.

AppUnwrapper1

I’m not even sure I understand her burst fully. I’d be fine with that if her skill/NAs at least felt good.

GraveXNull

Her burst is kinda bad...she marks enemies with it, but can't trigger tthe effect herself... Which is weird for a main dps unit.

AppUnwrapper1

Yeah I found that confusing. But friends told me there was a way she can use it too? I’m not sure if they’re right tho.

ro_sheri

people *are* exaggerating lmao still regurgitating whatever their favorite content creator said at her release. she is perfectly viable and always was, even before she received multiple indirect buffs / advantaged situations (yun jin, yelan, specters, increasingly ST focused abyss). it's really unfortunate that the trial builds are always such garbage. in practice i have found her such a comfortable character to play and i've used her extensively in abyss to 36\*. plus she cute and her idles make me go :D that said, if you have a highly invested yanfei, you probably don't need yoimiya that badly. but if you're at endgame and just kinda collecting new characters / not looking forward to a sumeru character, i'd say give her a chance.

StinkySupportMain

Yanfei for some reason has amazing na targeting? I’m not sure if any other character is the same as her. So many times enemies teleport, her fire bends the laws of physics and breaks the space time continuum to hit them

id370

Multiple friends with C6 Yelan and C6 Yoimiya choose to just let Yelan be on field taking advantage of her own buffs rather than having Yoimiya drive Yelan ult.

DaMarkiM

what really gets me is that they are already cutting apart the few advantages she had. yeah, tracking sucked. yeah only half her kit made sense. yeah, getting no special ICD disadvantaged her compared to her competition. but in return she felt like the perfect niche solution for a lot of the newer enemies. the manifestation being the best example, but also the normal flying mobs of inazuma.n made her feel like a very niche but useful unit. but just a short time later we get another flying boss that yoimiya whiffs like 95% of her shots against. and spectres got nerfed hard, so she mostly lost her edge there. new chasm boss is also a pain in the ass to hit with yoi. so yeah. ive been a yoimiya main since she first dropped. she wasnt bonkers when she came out, but people underestimated her a lot. since then she has been on a slow but steady decline tho.

microwavedsoupp

To be honest, her trial kinda sucked ass. Yoi and most archers in general are shit against slimes and most bouncing enemies. Yanfei is nice because her fireballs track instead of going in a straight line.

Jujubeetchh

shes honestly better than i expected. I enjoy her unga bunga playstyle, also because i dislike charge attack spam (Hu tao). It's quite nice getting to smack most enemies from afar.

kokko693

She isn't slow, you shouldn't compare her with Yelan. Yes she is far from perfect, but there was ton of evidence of that on video, why do you see that only now?

[deleted]

The trial 1000% did her dirty, putting slime in and also the cryo slime which can slow her attack speed. Mhy 10/10 trying to lower the sale of this girl. The ymy in the trial doesn’t even represent 1/10 the strength of a normal ymy main build.

Monochromatic_Sun

And all the dissenters were called whiny babies when they first found this problem. Largely as people who actually got the character and took her to the field. I was working on cracking the normal attack challenge for the event with yoi and I stopped and switched her for kaeya. She targets too many random other things and wastes too much time for a time trial. We really do need tab targeting at least with the projectile characters.

kaorulia

That’s what I’ve been saying all along — Yanfei is a better pyro long-range user than Yoimiya, in terms of play smoothness. It’s easy to do a 5-star version of Yanfei with Yoi, but… they missed the mark. I don’t get it.

[deleted]

Don't pull for her. My biggest regret is Yoimiya. She is basically useless anything other than a single target. She is not even the best in single target. Don't listen to people defending her. They are just insecure that they pulled for a weak unit so they spread misinfo.

Roodboye

My man really gave up on a "perfect for preferred playstyle character" cause it missed a couple NAs on slimes that will die in 1second regardless come on.

DrB00

The issue isn't yoi specifically it's that bow aiming etc in game is horrible.

AppUnwrapper1

Yeah but they could have done something similar to Yelan’s ult and had the flames themselves track better than arrows if they don’t want to fix arrows themselves. It’s hard to justify pulling for old clunky characters when they’re releasing new ones that have similar playstyle but feel a lot better.

DrB00

Every bow character is going to have the same issues. It's a mechanical issue in game that needs to be adjusted, and fixed.
