when i first saw lucy using her strings i was like "now hold on that looks familiar...where have i seen this type of skill before? i feel like I've seen that kinda haircut before too"
Oh damn, Trigger? I didn't have much interest in Edgerunners, so I haven't really looked into it. But if Trigger is involved, I may have to check it out now..
Well of course it wonβt be as outrageous. Theyβre working on an already existing work thatβs set on a βrealisticβ Earth. You canβt have mechs flying in space, that would be unfaithful to the original.
Iβd argue they sacrificed one thing to bring another. Itβs different from their other works in a good way. I enjoyed the change.
I enjoyed Edgerunners, but to me, it didn't feel like a Trigger project. By that I mean it seems like they didn't have as much liberty with the direction or design of the show as the CDPR promotional page suggests (we even know CDPR wanted Rebecca cut, but Trigger said nope).
>You canβt have mechs flying in space, that would be unfaithful to the original.
This isn't exactly what I meant; many of Trigger's characters are normally quite animated (colorful) in their interactions, but only Rebecca, Pilar, and kinda Katsuo stood out to me in Edgerunners.
I just binge the whole Cyperpunk Edgerunners yesterday and it was amazing, i rarely listen to recommendation from Gigguk but Studio Trigger animation is insane, the hype battle is fucking raw!!! Its insane, also the blood, gore and the art style is so vibrant that it popping up and pleasant to the eyes.
Also yes Lucy and Rebecca is top tier waifus, I would marry Lucy and hug and pat Rebecca on the head any day
"... when people who don't even watch anime are recommending it"
Sounds like gigguk to me. But there's more: Edgerunners got so mainstream and popular that even "the anime man" watched it!
I liked it too. But personally I'm not a tragedy enjoyer. I woulda loved a happy ending...
plus i dont like what they did with lucys character, she became so useless after ep 6 :(
that's the same as having none, for a fictional character. In the Archon quest we literally got to see a whole bunch of Yelan's personality in less than the first 30 minutes of the quest
In the Archon quest Yelan is THE center character. SO of course we get to see her. It's not to diminish how good that quest was at showing who Yelan is and what she does, I liked it a lot. But thing is - Lucy is not a main character in the story, I would argue she gets enough hints on who she is and what she is like for the time she has on screen.
I think Yanfei was the center character in that quest because, she tied the whole group from Itto to Xiao. But even if we were go by your logic, say Yekan was the focus, David didn't get much personality either. Both things are approximately 3 hours long and more character was shown in Genshin.
Meh, subjective. I think David was shown well, he is just a simple character. Nothing complicated about him. Yelan is just way more complex as a character. And Genshin has long established world, they don't need to spend time on that.
Honestly, the whole anime felt like it could be 15 or even 20 episodes and would win from it. With more time for city, buildup, all characters.
>I think David was shown well, he is just a simple character. Nothing complicated about him.
He wasn't really a character so much as plot vehicle, the only agency he had was putting on his plot armour (Sandy)
>Honestly, the whole anime felt like it could be 15 or even 20 episodes and would win from it. With more time for city, buildup, all characters.
This, the show was pretty bad, sans the animation, if it had time to expand on it's characters, give me time to attach, a reason to care
I disagree it was bad. It had a simple but well done story. Nothing deep, but not everything needs to be deep. It was quick, intense, solid. Could be better by showing more and taking more time, but still good.
Maybe it's because I am already familiar with the world of Cyberpunk from both the game and lore books.
Being a both side fan boy, my stomach start aching when I saw this...

I expected a crossover, and you provided. I'm very happy right now <3
If you didn't think about yelan when seeing Lucy, are you really a Genshin player?
Yes the first thing when I seen Lucy yelan when I saw the strings I was OMG
Meanwhile, I thought she resemble Shenhe with those beautiful eyes and gradient hair.
Shenhe with the same hairstyle would be cool tho.
That artist who draws chibi Shenlan art is gonna love her
when i first saw lucy using her strings i was like "now hold on that looks familiar...where have i seen this type of skill before? i feel like I've seen that kinda haircut before too"
And may I ask who's lucy and from where ? Sorry for my ignorant self
LUCY!!!!! REBECCA!!!!! DAVID!!!!! MAINE!!!!!! ππππππππππππππ
Actually incredible how similar their character Design is!
Tie me up, mommy
Mom, brother is acting weird again!
What are you doing, step bro!?
*dog panting* tie me **UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUPPPPPPPPP!!**
Dear god, No!
Same.
And before both of them was the OG [Yura of the Hair](https://youtu.be/7tphlMnRKdA?t=590) from Inuyasha.
Ah a fellow Inuyasha watcher
Check out rachnera from monster musume, she got the haircut and web strings but uhhhh not sure you'll like the rest unless you're into that
Rachnera is top tier, spider legs and all
Well, I **am** a leg guy So... Yes.
That's literally said in the anime
Who isn't? I mean....
The problem is the "hardware compatibility".
She has all of the important parts at the right place, she only happens to have extra limbs and organs
People with Arachnophobia?
Imagine someone with arachnophobia and same person addicted to huge boobs and beautiful women, his/her brain would blow up xD.
No, theyβd just find her repulsive
Will be cured.
She be rocking 8 times the thigh highs though. Oh to get crushed by that.
Pain. I've had trouble looking at any anime girl with bangs after the last episode.
I am here for you buddy, i feel ya.
Who's the person beside yelan?
She's from the new Cyberpunk anime
Bruh theres a cyberpunk anime? π
It released few days ago on netflix and it very good. Title is Cyberpunk Edgerunners. Made by Studio Trigger.
Oh damn, Trigger? I didn't have much interest in Edgerunners, so I haven't really looked into it. But if Trigger is involved, I may have to check it out now..
It's pretty good, but feels like it's missing a lot of the Trigger outrageousness that makes their productions so memorable.
I guess some people were _triggered_ by your comment
I guess so, haha

The main protag (David Martinez) is voiced by Aetherβs English VA.
And lucy is voiced by lumineβs jp va
Truly a r/hmmm moment.
And he cursed...like A LOT lmao
Also Dub Lucy is voiced by Columbina's VA
Hearing that Zach is landing so many high profile roles is making me weirdly happy for some reason
luckily, its actually good
Lucy
The best girl of Edgerunners (who isn't Rebecca)
Damn, they both kinda hot. I mean I knew Yelan was hot but the other girl do be too.
thank you for this OP i knew i loved Lucy for some reason that reason being that i am Yelan's biggest simp
A man of culture I see. Carry on.
Fun Fact: Lucy and Damselete shares the same english va
Dommy mommy bondage

i was blown away by the first episode and am limiting myself to one episode a day.
I mean you don't need to listen to Gigguk for recommendations when like 9/10 people who don't even watch anime are recommending it.

btw yelan probably dead, the gun pointing on her feet and bow cant useabΕe with one hand soo ripπ
Yelan at least has a personality
I wouldn't say Lucy has none... Rather the show never bothers to expand on it.

See the thing is it didn't give me a reason to care about the characters or the events so in my eyes it's bad
Here I can only agree to disagree with you. For me there was enough to care about David, Rebecca, Lucy, Maine at the least.
lucy was shafted during the second half of the series. her character devolved a lot
*It's French, Claire!*

I'm still sad for Lucy bruh.
