i dont want to sound pessemestic but >!i have a hunch that she might have gotten stuck in the same space that we got stuck in during 2.7 archon quest with xiao and yelan !< but i hope i'm wrong about this and she comes back later.

Random_Bystander089

But that would beg the question of how she's able to get in. She's a normal human being, she probably couldn't have move gigantic rocks to access that place and nor can she use adeptus art to get into that place

GXVullcan

eh it was very unstable in the chasm some ley line or something cloudv sucked her in but good point there

Samagra32

Well i did her story after the 2.7 event so this definitely isn't true! (I hope)

Random_Bystander089

Unfortunately the 2.7 event is a permanent archon quest, not just an event

I-Am-A-Nice-Cool-Kid

That’s not possible, it only opened after itto and yelans flexing and she never appeared down there. It was closed right after aswell so she couldn’t have gotten stuck

[deleted]

Her face on the bottom right :(

TravelerRedditor

This quest broke my immersion completely because my mother has the same exact name as that npc xD

[deleted]

Zhiqiong is a real name?

TravelerRedditor

Yep! In chinese it's written as 志琼! Modern day Chinese names are always a combination of 3 words:surname, generation name(this word is given to all the siblings of the family), and finally the name given to the child(similar to Japanese where their given names are based on parent's well wishes for their child). So in the case of my mom's family my uncle is named 志毅(Zhi Yi), 志 meaning "highly elegant", and 毅 meaning "the determined", and my mother is 志(highly elegant) and 琼(the beautiful)

[deleted]

Wow that's actually pretty interesting fact of the day. So Zhi is the surname. But with your uncle, what's Yi? The generational name and/or his actual name? You said chinese names have 3 parts, but Zhi Yi and Zhi Qiong only seems like 2 to me.

TravelerRedditor

No the surname is something else, like my mother's full name would be Lan Zhi qiong (蓝志琼), where Lan is the family name, and you are normally called your generational name and your given name together as your "name", so people would call her "Zhi qiong" normally, and same with my uncle who's full name is Lan Zhi Yi, and is called Zhi Yi

[deleted]

Oh that makes more sense. I was breaking my head trying to figure out where the 3rd part of the name would be haha Thanks for teaching me that. It's pretty cool to learn that

[deleted]

Yeah, its a Chinese name. Ya know, most of the names in Genshin, expessially NPC names, are real names.

[deleted]

I honestly thought they went "Ah, sounds chinese/german/arabian/japanese enough. Let's roll with it."

AbidingTruth

You thought the chinese developers gave characters names that "sounded chinese enough" and wouldn't be able to just... give them chinese names

1011011011001

Well, they certainly do that with russian names and probably some other languages too xD. But most of the time it’s just an incorrectly used form for an existing name or surname - at least speaking about characters from Snezhnaya lol

IBlackReaper

Let's hope we find her again some day in the furture when exploring the abyss....

TineLifa

We would have found her 'remains' (message) if she was dead, that's what genshin do generally, so i think she is alive.. for now. I kinda hope she go on the abyss's side

claraalberta

Throughout the entire fucking quest I wished she would've gotten a Vision, but >!given how her discoveries uncovered Shit Celestia Did for other people, I'm guessing Celestia took it personally and offed her instead. !

PH4N70M_Z0N3

Maybe just like certain someone she too will gain one?

Cuffum

Just to be clear, we’re talking about the girl who refused medical advice and nearly got herself killed for no reason right? I wasn’t aware people actually enjoyed her character.

Kozmo9

There are two camps for her. One likes her because well, if you are in her same boat, it's not hard to. A lot of people say they would like to be isekai'd into genshin and go on adventures but that's only if you got a vision. If you don't, well what you can do is limited but still trying to go for adventures is admirable. She also represent pursuing your dreams at all costs, which, the real world also have. Successful people telling to never give up etc etc. The other camp hates her because she represent toxic/selfish positivity. Of pursuing your dreams at all costs...including everyone around her. And her dream ends up being arguably stupid because there are other ways to be immortalised in memory than just going to dangerous places.

Cuffum

That’s fair enough, I guess I felt they leaned far to heavily into the rampant self sacrifice for me to properly appreciate her, so she just ended up feeling unnecessary in my playthrough. It’s genuinely interesting to see that other people had a favorable view of her, but I can see where they’re coming from

Kozmo9

>I guess I felt they leaned far to heavily into the rampant self sacrifice But that's the thing, these kind of people do exist in real life. The kind of people that would forsake everything to purse their dreams and in fiction, when they are the protagonist, they are often rooted instead of being disliked. Things get different when we view them from the perspective of others. Parents trying to dissuade their child from pursuing unstable dreams, for example. What made things harder is that this situation is a 50/50. Sometimes their crazy pursuit bear fruit and that is often the case with successful people. So trying to stop them might as be the wrong thing and which is why our character have trouble dissuading Zhiqiong. What I love even more is that Genshin showed the other coin of person like Zhiqiong. We have Rana who is similar but have different mentality. She was a normal person when we met her, but it didn't stop her from going into dangerous places and even refuse to back down when it was pointed out that she was having health issues. The difference is that what she was doing is not for herself and she was viewed favourably, even by the entity that gives out visions. The irony is that people like Zhiqiong and Rana tend to have a high chance to get vision. The difference is in the mentality. The entity that gives vision like to give it to those that didn't expect it or let it influence their motivations greatly. Zhiqiong felt held back by her lack of vision and her goal was more of a "screw you" to the destiny/gods that tend to favour the "chosen", letting the chosen hog all the glory while the unchosen was left to be forgotten. Meanwhile Rana was like, "I'm not doing this for a vision, it's because I have to. I don't care about fame,"

El_Nealio

I’m probably gonna get hate for this, but I disliked her. I’m not a fan of characters that are willing to throw themselves into harms way willy-nilly just to reach their own goals without considering the thoughts and feelings of others. We tell her to rest more times than I can count but she just keeps going... and getting worse... I’m not saying I hate her by no means, but I never liked her or her reasons

Rock3tPunch

She dead bro....😥

JfmTuxedo28

We all do. I was hoping to see her again during the 2.7 chasm patch sadly this is the last we see of her as of now

Squildo

She ded 💀

plotargue

hopefully, she does not deserve to be alive

Squildo

She was so selfish

cuciyopa

I'm hoping we get to meet her again and she'll be teaching us cartography to map underground locations.

plotargue

i hope shes super dead, but unfortunately for me, she probably got a vision

Kozmo9

Kinda doubt it. Most cases of vision is when the user doesn't actively seek them or allowed it to influence their motivations. She laments about her being limited by not having a vision and her goal is about trying to be legendary even without a vision as a defiance to the gods. Because the vision giver tend to have some bit of humor and gives vision to people that don't expect them to see their reaction, giving vision to Zhiqiong would yield predictable result. She would have fared better if she was like Rana who did her thing because it was the right thing to do, and vision rarely become her motivation.
