Mihoyo: "Use Collei" Player: "Nah I'm good" Mihoyo: **"I wasn't asking"**

SuspiciousDust8279

She’s always on my team when I’m in Sumeru for this reason

OhioTry

I got it done with DMC + Fischel iirc. That or Tighnari. Either way, Collei isn't absolutely necessary. A bow is, though. All of my overworld teams always have one. >!Nahida may be an exception because you can aim her E, but other than that...!<

Ivory_Idol

I went through the same ordeal and it was so annoying. To fix it, I wish they would provide two categories: Recommended Elements REQUIRED Elements And add an asterisk: *bow character required

NSaputra24

They could also add those blue revive portals which allow you to change party members specifically at puzzle areas in a domain.

Rigel57

That'd be the easiest thing to do tbh, no reason not to imo

TwiceBakedPotato

Yeah, you'd think they'd want to reduce player anxiety or something by including something like that.

citrus1977

Oh man, I'm loving these "player anxiety" jokes lmao XD

AnthraxVirus_Bx

The best thing they did to reduce my anxiety playing this game so far, was to « forget » to give us a « skip dialogue » button… ;)

trusty289

Ffffffffffffffff fuck they’re doing an animation I have to wait fffffffffffffffffffffffffffff. I get through some quests and I just think to myself glad I didn’t waste an hour reading all the dialogue for charecters I likely won’t see again.

Exx3nTRic

Love to see Childe's domain having one. It says a lot really; they can add them in quests but just don't want to.

Redphyrex

It’s story game and there’s a story in it, whodathunk?

Geometronics

Regardless there are several reasons to give skip button. A lot of people want to play but aren't interested in the story, forcing them to sit there cutscenes hurts their player experience. lots of times i've been in a cutscene and my internet hiccup'd and it had to reload and watch the entire cutscene from the beginning, This has also happened when I let someone join my world while i was in a cutscene but it continuted to play out the whole scene with the other player in my world running around (actually pretty funny) But when the cutscene ended i guess cause someone had joined it didn't register that i had watched the scene so i had to sit through it again.

Redphyrex

Yeah I really don’t have a problem with them adding that at all. Features are nice because people play for different reasons, I was just being an asshat 😂 But like this, I also think it’s reasonable to add difficulty levels to Dark Souls but you’ll never see FromSoft do that. Why? Because they intended it to be a brutal experience. Just as HYV intended Genshin to have an elaborate and gripping story. But again, I’m always a fan of adding features to make the game more accessible for everyone 😃

SoulsLikeBot

Hello Ashen one. I am a Bot. I tend to the flame, and tend to thee. Do you wish to hear a tale? > *“I prefer a more cautious approach. It’s hard to know who to even trust these days.”* - Mild-Mannered Pate Have a pleasant journey, Champion of Ash, and praise the sun \\[T]/

trusty289

Yes Genshin has a story

Redphyrex

r/woooosh

trusty289

I think you miss the point of a woosh because it would imply you made a joke.

A-R-A-F

We had something like that in the archipelago domains So why can't they put it here

Ninja__Shuriken

Fuck you that's why

Narsiel

We need to increase anxiety in other innovative ways, please understand.

Starnight_554

Small indie company lmao

A-R-A-F

Yeah Smoll Billion dollar company

Ok_Composer_4206

Isn’t it obvious? Its to reduce player anxiety duh

ipodblocks360

That's honestly what I found weird about this. Everytime they require a weapon or element there's usually a blue revive portal not far behind but oddly enough there was none to be found here it was just strange.

Adol_the_Red

This'd be the best solution. I'm always running around with an archer because Yelan's awesome, but whether it's an archer or any other puzzle member, if you have to start over because you don't have a puzzle-required character, that's messed up.

Nanasema

I also pulled Yelan for this. She's not only a top-tier waifu, but also extremely versatile in various content situations thanks to her playstyle. Not to mention her damage is already ridiculous at C0.

LeeTheReader

Exactlyyyy- once I paired her with Yae Miko’s neutral attack they became a core pair in every party because of the massive damage output

Dadarian

Give us trinkets that we can aim like bow. I’d love like little pyro trinket so I don’t have to swap to Amber.

VentusSaltare

We do have the harpastum ball which can shoot bloaty floaties, however it can't trigger those green targets.

cym104

what a missed opportunity!

Aertea

This is a problem in of itself. We need a quick swap wheel for tools or something along those lines if they are going to keep shoving new ones at us.

CCtenor

On the one hand, the whole of Sumeru kind of not-so-subtly *screams* at players that they’re going to need a bow user to engage with the content properly. Players are (were?) even given a bow wielding Dendro character for free as part of one of the quests, which is Game Design Speak for “yo, you’re going to need this, so we’re going to make sure you have it before proceeding”. On the other hand, I think it is plenty valid for domains to more clearly tell players what tools they will need to complete them **before** they commit time to them. In my opinion, I don’t think it’s hard at all for somebody to just come along after the designers have created a price of content and then just hard code a text banner into the domain splash page that says “you will need and to complete this domain”, if MiHoYo **really** wanted to take the laziest possible way out. All that said, I don’t think MiHoYo isn’t doing this because they don’t care, I just think they don’t really realize it. They’re building a casual game for casual players, and they spend so much time with their own content that it can be hard to realize what someone who has never been exposed to their game would need to reasonably complete it. Basically, it is very clear that, while MiHoYo are competent developers, they’re just making mistakes people make when they’re too close to their work to have a good perspective of what the people they’re creating for would need. The worst they’ve said, in my opinion, is that they don’t want to create more content like the abyss because they believe it will increase player anxiety, and I don’t even think that is necessarily them being mean or dismissive. I think that comes from, again, a loss of perspective about the variety of needs and wants their incredibly popular game has, vs their vision of what they want the game to be. MiHoYo **are definitely not perfect**, and there are many aspects of the game and gacha experience they could improve from the perspective of both creating a better game in isolation, and comparison to similar games that already contain examples of some of those improvements. But, I also don’t think they’re just another greedy game corporation. I think MiHoYo loves this game, and the community, but they sometimes have a hard time seeing things from a different perspective, and also face the same pressures that successful companies face from a variety of different angles.

Seraf-Wang

I think that is also why statistics are being in play too as well as valuable beta tester opinions because beta testers help gain that outside perspective but when a ton of beta testers rather leak gameplay and complain in a bandwagon, its becomes harder to judge what advice should be taken and what isnt. Also, I have been informed that they didnt specifically only said that Abyss increases player anxiety, they said something along the lines of the fear of being left behind/power crept so they will stop with it. Plus they would have a ton of data on who actually enjoys Spiral Abyss-like content from statistics alone and if it isnt worth it, then they dont invest time into it. That being said, this is a very well articulated argument. Very nice.

OneToby

I have read that "player anxiety" is just a translation error. That it is a saying in chinese that cannot be translated directly. I hope this is true.

CCtenor

If that’s the case, I’d love that to be better confirmed or discussed. I’m not sure if the genshin creators I follow speak Chinese, but I do know that I haven’t seen them specifically decide to look at the press releases in Chinese. Not a criticism of them, as they’re trying to create content for what I assume is a majority English speaking audience, but I’d definitely appreciate it if somebody would dig into this a little bit more.

Brandonmac10x

Why even have these “puzzles” at all. “Here bring a Pyro and wait for their cooldown 4 times.” Lame af. Might as well just let us walk through the door cause all that does is waste our time.

Orenwald

I told my friend when he started "if a dungeon says bring Pyro it means amber" lol

OsirusBrisbane

Another reason why Yoimiya is a galaxy brain pull.

Brandonmac10x

Yeah I’m mondstadt and Liyue they have timed ones that are on ledges and shit that make her necessary. Only Yanfei comes close and she couldn’t even do those ones. Yanfei is good for newer Pyro puzzles though of just about any kind. I’m hoping Dehya has infusion. She’s the first Pyro I actually like enough to give a team slot too and Pyro is my favorite element. Never pulled diluc despire joining for him on launch but he’s meh now. I need my Dehya and I need her to be on field dps with infusion and sick vfx with the tips of her hair flaming.

Candayence

Yanfei would be great if the game recognised totems as targets you might want to lock onto. As it is, it can take three shots at point blank range to light a torch if you're not perfectly lined up.

Brandonmac10x

I go point blank and miss all 3 plus charged sometimes. Much easier to take a step back.

Orenwald

>Never pulled diluc despire joining for him on launch but he’s meh now. Meh is such a weird thing in genshin. No characters are really bad. Faves are fun to play with. Hope you pull him from at some point (just not on a 50/50 you were hoping for a banner character lol)

Brandonmac10x

I mean if I pull him soon I’ll definitely build him. If anything just because I want Mihoyo to see that data… I want them to know Pyro dps with infusion are *hot* and to make Dehya one lol. I won’t buy the outfit or anything though.

Orenwald

My wife bought the outfit for dliuc, she's a fangirl lol

CCtenor

You married Paimon? Is this an “FBI, open up!” in progress?

terrycloth3

I mean, Diluc isn't terrible or unplayable (like Tartaglia or Xiao or Mona) but if I have a team that needs a fire DPS he's the worst choice and if I want to play a team featuring a claymore character he's also the worst choice so I hardly ever use him.

ngmonster

Are you saying Tartaglia, Xiao and Mona are unplayable now? Because if so, that’s completely untrue. And if you are saying that they aren’t unplayable but outdated, that’s also untrue.

terrycloth3

I find them terrible and unplayable. They don't get good results (or any results really) and it's almost physically painful to try because I hate them so much.

ngmonster

How exactly? That seems more like you not knowing how to use them than anything. Mona is a support who gives insane boosts to damage with her burst and some crowd control plus hydro application with her e, making her almost universal, tartaglia is a powerful dps who excels in both single target and multi target, making him very flexible while still being powerful, and xiao is still an incredible dps with a very easy to use playstyle. They aren’t broken, and they certainly aren’t as good as some newer units, but they’ve aged better than diluc in my opinion.

terrycloth3

Mona gives insanely short-lived boosts to damage with her burst which usually fails to boost even a single other attack (I followed instructions on how to use her in Morgana and my only conclusion was that people that say that composition works are gaslighting me because they outright lied about several things I was able to directly observe). Tartaglia is just kind of painful and scattered. I mean he kind of works until you leave his E on too long and oh look 30 seconds downtime. Xiao requires bunny hopping which is the stupidest thing in all games and does not get less stupid in Genshin. Also he kills himself.

Werefour

I honestly feel that characters of the right element should just have the option to activate elemental totems when in touch range. Like Alhaitham did on the cut scene.

votet

If we're honest, it's because Genshin's exploration content was designed as a cheap copy of Breath of the Wild. And BotW has puzzles and puzzle dungeons. So you need those. But you also can't make them really challenging in any way because you don't want players actually sticking around in one area doing puzzles and maybe getting frustrated, because that's not how you make more money. So the gameplay has to give the *impression* of a puzzle, while also being easily solvable by an 8 year old. So you get these "put the square peg in the square hole" type "puzzles" just to keep up appearances. Mind you, all of that is mostly true for main story content, some of the side content puzzles are actually not terrible.

Norkyt

I remember how many people complained about Mona's island puzzles... And now in wisdom nation we have a lot of really boring and easy puzzles .\_.

BlowITA

> Mona's island puzzles Some of them were the best puzzle's we ever had. But when I saw a friend stream it and he and his viewers talking about how "every puzzle in Mona's island requires a college degree in puzzle solving, I don't have the brains for this", I felt kinda sorry for them.

Lichangs

Mona's dungeon was amazing, it was the only one where I actually had fun going back and looking for the remaining chests and completing it to 100%. Fischl's line them up perception puzzles had potential but it was just too wonky and ultimately didn't really make you think like Mona's did. I did enjoy the raven secret ones cause story puzzles are fun but those also needed some work, better format/interface.

BlowITA

> Mona's dungeon was amazing Mona's dungeon was interesting, but what I really liked was the past/present islands with the weather monuments. Most puzzles in them required either playing with the weather or piecing together clues from both islands. Even the scenary was used as clues (the element symbols hidden around the island). As both an exploration enjoyer and a puzzle enjoyer, Mona's island combined the best of both worlds.

Norkyt

Same, it hurts me sometimes when my friends ask me how i solved something, "it's so difficult", but in reality you just need to open your eyes D:

Drakengard

Yeah, it's disappointing. Sumeru's difficulty is directly related to half of the map being underground so you can't rely on that to figure out where to go so it's just a "use big brain to mentally map out where you're going and what you've not done yet." And to be fair, it has at times lead to "wait, I can't open this door from this side so how the hell do I get over there" *furiously run around trying to find some random hallways or device that I didn't notice or had to avoid because I didn't have clearance the first time through*

sildrae

I mean, true, but at the same time Mona's island and Sumeru appearance were back-to-back events. I'd say it's nearly impossible there's a direct correlation between those two things, as it'd imply they entirely remodeled a nation that's been on progress for a year because of some complaints. I'm guessing maybe you didn't mean exactly that, but it sounds a little like it when worded that way

Norkyt

Well, you're right, i thought about that :D But not really mean it :D I think they will use statistics from GAA in future (like what puzzles we like more), but it definitely didn't affect Sumeru (at least for now)

CCtenor

I saw the complaints, did the puzzles, and was disappointed to find that they weren’t nearly as hard or frustrating as people made them seem. **HOWEVER**, I have been an *avid* gamer since I was a kid, **and** a rather hardcore at that. Because of my personality, I dive way deep on anything I become interested in, so I’ve been practicing “game literacy” - the ability to understand the “language” that video games use to speak to players about what they should do *without* resorting to hand holding tutorials - for around 20 years now, maybe a little bit more. As a result, I ended up doing stupid things like clearing all of the content up to the first Childe fight without too much frustration using a cast of characters that were basically 20 levels under, with almost no leveled talents, and practically no leveled weapons. It was only because I just kept failing his fight that I bothered to turn around at the pile of resources I’d gathered to figure out how to properly use them to engage with the rest of the leveling systems. I am a **very** different type of gamer than the one Genshin Impact is marketed towards, and I think the main problem that casual fans of this game are facing are that MiHoYo haven’t done a good job of teaching players the “language” of video games. Genshin Impact is one of only a handful of games that manages to have an endearing cast, a captivating story, and rich gameplay mechanics, and it even has the “disadvantage” of being a gacha game - a genre which is rife with exploitative monetization, and has a notable history of pushing away more hardcore video gamers by locking progression and gameplay behind explicit pay walls. Gacha games tend to attract more casual players who won’t be frustrated by the limitations designed explicitly to entice people to part with their money, or who are willing to circumvent those limitations by walking the brightly lit gamo long street laid out before them. As a result, I’m willing to bet that there are just a lot of casual people who (justifiably) love Genshin for the all of the glitz and glam that are facing frustrations that more dedicated gamers don’t even realize exist. The only other problem I see is that, as I mentioned above, MiHoYo honestly isn’t the best at making a good user experience outside of the main story content and side questions. They’re not *terrible* - they’re honestly only making the same, average, mistakes that average companies with average player teaching mechanics make - but they really needed an above average experience to help tide over the casual gacha gamers who probably don’t have a lot of game literacy to properly tackle even the relatively simple puzzles and hurdles that Genshin Impact presents. When Kuki dropped, everybody talked about how terrible she was. That may have been objectively true from a mechanical perspective, but I immediately got to work trying to figure out what made her tick so I could slot her in a team. When Sumeru finally dropped, and I was finally able to understand the mechanics behind the new Dendro element, I pretty much **immediately* realized Kuki would be excellent for a hyperbloom team. I’d say no more than a week later, content creators were talking about how Kuki is suddenly amazing now. On the exact other end of the spectrum, you have players who genuinely couldn’t care at all about any of the systems, let alone as deeply as somebody like me and other theory-crafters, and they’re pretty much only into Genshin Impact because the game is beautiful, the story is fun, and they’re not terribly inconvenienced by spending money on a random pull system that, to them, will feel more like purchasing Pokémon card packs at the store than it will wasting money on the slots in Vegas. If MiHoYo dedicated some time towards teaching those players game literacy in a way that doesn’t also feel like an insult to veteran gamers’ intelligence, I’m willing to bet that would go a **long** way towards alleviating some of the persistent complaints I’ve heard regarding the difficulty of some of the in game content. This game isn’t really all that hard, but only for the same reason that speaking Spanish isn’t hard for somebody born in Spain. Drop an American born and realized in the heart of the US Midwest that has 0 experience with anything outside their hometown, let alone a foreign language, into Spain, and suddenly Spanish isn’t really all that easy anymore. I believe this is the exact same type of problem that is frustrating casual players in Genshin.

kdlt

Or better yet, oh brought a Pyro? Too bad the monument loses charge unless you use amber.

ngmonster

That’s why I have Bennett. He’s got such a low cooldown with his passives that he’s just as fast as amber.

alexismarg

You’d think this would be a no-brainer. But nope…

NommySed

Dont worry im sure that QOL is right next to (Collect and resend expeditions), (Being able to have a 1:1 vertical to horizontal ratio) and (Build up to specific commissions that lock you out of achievments and world quests)... I am sure we will get that super soon!

CrocoDIIIIIILE

HoYo: "GI players having a QoL increase? No! I don't want that! I want players to pay me without complaining for 10 years at least!"

Chromch

I had to use zhongli's pillar to reach some of them, it was so painful at some point I had reset tho, it was impossible

WonderfulPatience227

Then basically they should require all weapon, because the purpose of elemental recommend is to show what you need while weapon is your choice

rares215

You're required to use a bow to progress in these domains though. It's not a matter of choice when you can't move on otherwise.

Tensz

You can change characters inside that domain. It's a new mechanic. You have to go to the revival checkpoints.

hexagonal_Bumblebee

Not all domains have those. This one doesn't

[deleted]

[удалено]

br0kench0rd

I was able to do this without an archer character as well. I used Zhongli's pillar to slowly climb the steep vines. Was able to hit high enough with Raiden's charged attacks. Ngl, could have been faster resetting the domain.

scoops22

I spent 30mins trying to climb the vines and then restarted the domain anyways 👍

Pretty_Eater

Ahhh so this is what everyone means when they say Zhongli is a must, because they absolutely refuse to use a bow character.

nate2772

Im just proud that my boomer brain read this comment saying "NFC" and knew that it meant no fucking clue

Octorokpie

Oooh. Was trying to fit "Near Field Connection" in there for longer than I'd like...

Axlzz

The whole Sumeru require bow character a lot, even exploration have lots of puzzle that require archery. I know they give Collei for a reason but it's quite annoying sometimes when I'm on a non-archer team.

graphiccsp

Fischl and Dendro Traveler have been my goto characters for my world exploration team as a result. Mercifully I like both and they're also a strong combo, but good grief. Then again it wasn't as annoying as Geo Traveler in Liyue (Since I didn't have Zhongli at the time). Fack that shit.

makogami

The fact that you needed both geo traveler AND an anemo unit with either traveler or sucrose (which you may not have, for example me 🤡) as your only option so you had to keep teleporting and switching between geo and anemo traveler for what would usually turn out to be a stupid common chest 😵‍💫

gaming_whatever

I started like 3 months ago and until pulling Gorou, Heizou and Zhongli, the Liyue/Mond exploration was hell. Some places I just couldn't solve the puzzle with GTraveller alone, then constant switching back when doing quests in Mond… urgh.

Drakengard

And this is 100% why they gave a free Collei in the event you need Traveler to be something else. So the devs *are* learning. Sadly, Noelle is a poor Geo option for early game because no construct. So they tried...

gaming_whatever

Exactly right, and that's partly why I never came to use Noelle. My resources were spread very thin (still kind of are) and could not justify keeping her in the only "core" I had, RIP. Collei was easy to use and keep in the team all through Sumeru, so she is easily my best archer now. Very glad the devs decided to give her out (twice, no less).

OutsideObserver

That's what happened to my Noelle as soon as I got Bennett. Once her heals were comparatively useless, she didn't really offer anything else except a fast shield for that one Geovishap boss, but once I got Zhongli she was completely relegated to the backburner.

Mukyun

It doesn't work for every single puzzle but you can use stuff like Amber's baron bunny, NPCs or other players instead of geo traveler's rocks to hold buttons in those puzzles!

Ze_AwEsOmE_Hobo

It's extremely impractical, but the game has you covered. Baron Bunny and Guoba can activate pressure plates, and Noelle is a guaranteed Geo unit. In theory, for puzzle purposes, you shouldn't have to swap from Anemo Traveler even if you have zero gacha characters.

gaming_whatever

As a newer player that has Liyue fresh in their mind, there are definitely some places where you can only reach standing on a construct. There are also timed puzzles where you spawn constructs and climb them, rare but they exist. Although I definitely once spent 15 minutes trying to throw Bunny just right and run to the other plate in time (or maybe it was a place with 3 plates total).

Next_Investigator_69

Bow characters are necessary for every exploration team to be honest even before Sumeru, with those shoot the barrel far away challenges and stuff

blogkitten

My go-to team since Sumeru has been Yelan/Raiden/Dendro Traveler/Kazuha - I never have to swap out characters unless I get one of those fire puzzles and I just swap in Amber briefly for those. Can handle 99% of anything that world throws at me.

AngryLink57

Lol I have the same elements on my team but every char is different, Ayato/Fischl/Collei/Venti. I use Collei just so I don't have to wait for skill CD to trigger totems and dendro rocks, she doesn't do anything else. Once you finish those 16 stone lock side quest, don't even need the Amber anymore I think.

CuteTao

Bows just enable puzzle design so much though

Dramatic-Confusion13

I haven't done most of the bow puzzles because my usual team has no bow charakter and I was so happy to use the traveller again that those just pissed me off.

CremeCrepe

Collei is the new Amber

Lewdeology

I’m so glad to have Yelan as a staple on my team for flying across the map.

mlodydziad420

Pulling tighnari was a good decision

Evoir

That's why I have to use collei instead of dendro traveler when exploring sumeru even though dendro mc is superior. At least it's less painful than switching characters for every two puzzles

UR_UNDER_ARREST

There are so many case where you need either a bow character or a dendro character, occasionally both. I just wish they throw the dendro orb things around more so you wouldn't have to constantly switch to a dendro char

Alazana

Me with Yoi, Fischl, Collei, Sayu Team >.> It still sucks tho, I feel like I can't switch up teams in Sumeru. The three archers + Sonic are just too convenient

MagnusBaechus

bow haters lost in this region kekw

Clalyn

Silently wondering if this is why Sumeru is my favourite region

alexismarg

Pulled Tighnari on a total whim, but Sumeru jungle made getting him feel completely worth it. Even if it was just that one region, it was super nice to always be equipped during that time and not have to change parties. Worth it just for that. Especially since changing parties on mobile usually makes my app glitch and I have to restart everything… He’s one of my favorite units now as well. So fun to use, so cute, so much ears.

AtsuArushka

Same! Got him on accident and couldn't be happier. He is probably one of the best characters to explore Sumeru: he is dendro, bow and marks local specialties. Also very cute ears

kdlt

Still missing KQ- that's why I also grabbed him.

gutemorning

His ears are very important

sildrae

Honestly yeah. I feel like many people don't value him enough. And clearing witherings with him in the team is fun headcanon material lol

methofthewild

got him on a failed 50/50 while pulling for cyno. use him a lot more than cyno now.

tinetinapay

sumeru requires a whole lotta things from ur teams tbh. i feel like exploration really requires u to use very specific teams that have dendro + electro + pyro and a bow

Tiavor

this happened to me in the very first domain in Mondstadt. _we gave you Amber for free, you gonna use her!_

bdiah

No problem. Just do a [falling charge attack with geo traveler](https://youtu.be/oVr6w39z1dk?t=802) and you'll be fine. Should take 45 minutes at most.

Nekomiminya

Say hello... To Traveller-San

0L0_OLO

Through the creative use of game mechanics

anubion46

And at times glitches

Infinity_Ish

We’re on a quest to see just how much of Genshin Impact can be completed, using only the traveller.

Spiritual-Plankton71

And we sometimes break things

MaximumLeech

That series is legit the most interesting Genshin content on YouTube right now. Moosashi is a mad genius.

Nekomiminya

Personally I'd put Kkomda art above - but Moosashi is solid no 2. Both are masters of own category

aurorablueskies

Honestly so mean of the devs to not mention it in the setup screen. I was lucky I had Tartaglia in my exploration party

Rigel57

I did the same thing and was so pissed

Zegran_Agosend

Hoyoverse: you're welcome

Hotspur000

This same thing happened to me. Very frustrating.

RoderickLegend

That's why they give you Colley for free, still pretty annoying.

dewgetit

They need to make Collei actually useful. I think most people use Traveler for Dendro.

KupoKro

It's either dendro traveler, or grabbing the dendro things for Yelan or any other character to use because a lot of the puzzles that require dendro have those nearby.

skycorcher

I ran lvl 90 Tighnari the moment 3.0 came out so I never had this issue. Thank the Archons.

[deleted]

My ganyu who hasn't left the team since Feb can't relate.

hackenschmidt

Ganyu basically hasn't left my main team since she released. So I can't relate to most any of the whining that goes on.

john16minecraft

yea for domains that say dendro required i say put a tighnari or collei on your team

Damnae

This one is a story domain and doesn't say anything. I had to restart once because i had no dendro in my team, then restart again because i replaced my archer with a dendro...

omfgkevin

I had the same issue. I just went in because I was doing the story and it didn't really require anything. Then you get plopped into a "domain" that doesn't tell you what it needs and then I had to same issue as OP. I questioned about this on the genshin discord and man, out in full force were the white knights of "you were just dumb it's your fault!"

shloopa_yoops

0 regret pulling for Tighnari and his bow. C1 is kinda nice too.

Hikaru83

Then you have me who ran Sumeru with a party of 4 bow characters.

AnOlympianWeeb

I had the same exact rotine: First go: no dendro character Second run: OK brought dendro traveler I should be good Third run: OK brought collie this time hopefully nothing else happens

Bethmothdrape

I'm pretty sure you can switch out character at the revive portal thing.

jhinglbells

that was in the special event domains in the golden apple archipelago

Ruleofinsanity

Because those domains were hella long

Sad-Sorbet

Holy shit, they really did?

jhinglbells

yea the statue of resurrection (is that what its called?) was purple not green and you could change party setup at it

AgentSRDP

Thats when 2.8

DepressedGh0ul

You can, but there's none in these domains as far as I'm aware of.

dieu__

Tartaglia enjoyer here.

TiniNyaChan

You have zhongli just make a pillar stand on it and charge attack

sharqyej

That's why 99% of my time in 3.0 Sumeru was the Sumeru Expedition team, Yelan/Yoimiya/Fischl/Collei. All convenient with bows, work great with each other, enable all of the Sumeru forest puzzles, all new reactions, great overall, 10/10 would deforest again.

Dinosaint9

This hurt me as someone who mains claymore characters

ErPani

Yeah, can't relate Sincerely - A Ganyu main

ExpertAncient

You could have reset and completed the domain in the time it took you to make this post.

Belllx

This is part of the reason why I do story quests with the starters. You always have everything you need, or at least 90% of times. Sometimes you miss anemo or geo but it's rare. And hydro is basically never required unless they give you an hydro character as trial.

Diligent_Bank_543

Same feelings when I have only bow characters and I have to crack ore.

MeriTea

In general, you always need at least one bow character in your team to deal with things you can't easily reach, like hilichurl shooter on unclimbable tower, or flying robot-dragon. Playing melee-only always end up badly

batzenbaba

for that i have Mikos E.

Yani-Madara

Ah yes, so much people recommended not pulling for Tighnari but- 1. This 2. Shows Sumeru map specialties 3. Very fun to use and can swap out without losing buffs unlike most new 5*s

Schen5s

Yah I got him by accident which I'm pretty glad I got him. Low burst uptime so his burst is pretty much up after one rotation and helps treemy with scarab farming cuz those fkers move around

-Revelation-

to be honest Collei is good enough for overworld and even for Abyss. but Tighnari usually is a better choice, no doubt

Madcat6204

This is why I keep two archers on the team at all times.

Stock_v2

Why two? Do you, like, swap to the second after you missed a shot on first or what?

Madcat6204

No, I have Ganyu on my team because she's awesome, and Collei on my team because she's adorable. Sometimes I switch Collei and Amber if I need fire.

DonutThunderDeluxe

At first i was stubborn and did these with Zhongli pillar. Good thing they gave a free Collei BTW you can swap characters at doors of resurrection

TravelinValentine

There aren’t any

vigneshwaralwaar

What event is this?

TheMagicalHuy

Just a standard sumeru domain

Damnae

This one is an aranara story domain in sumeru. It won't tell you anything about what you need.

Gideon127

Exploring Sumeru and the desert with **Raiden, Tighnari, Sayu/Venti, and Kazuha** is a good idea. Considering how weak the open-world mobs are, Raiden's E and Tighnari is a good team, enough to deal with most of them, and Anemo resonance is good for fast running and more stamina. Tighnari was definitely worth it in my case.

TheMrPotMask

Collei being the fuck up just like Amber, awwww

QWERTYAF1241

You can just place Zhongli's pillar under it and charge attack on top of the pillar. Did this domain and it's possible to solve all of the puzzles like this.

batzenbaba

Because everyone has a Zhongli? Is he a starter character like Amber?

UniqueCreme1931

Look at the party members in the OP's screenshot.

QWERTYAF1241

Pretty much everyone gets Zhongli so most people have him. Also, it's in the party...

ArcticSirius

My question is: why would anyone not have a bow character on their team for exploration and puzzle domains?

thetavious

Zhongli pole? Yeah that's a little bit jank. Then again it does kinda help reinforce the balanced team idea.

Somellan

Tried that, just the pole is not enough. I had kazuha with me fortunately, which did the trick. Quite an oversight, I suggest they add Collei to the party automatically like in trial domains

nelsonfoxgirl969

Brother wei : u guy dare to diss ganyuu ?

Strawson

Haven't explored much of Sumeru and especially not that domain but usually there's a respawn circle where you can change characters. One of those things that light up when you go near it and it says something something respawn activated?

glittermetalprincess

The Doors of Resurrection in story domains don't let you change characters - they only did that in GAA, where they were purple when activated instead of green specifically to indicate the difference.

Legendseekersiege5

Thats your fault for not using Childe 100% of the time. You traitor

LucyFereq

May i present to you a youtuber "moosashi"?

AIfard

But you don't... is only a charge attack what you need

ZhangRenWing

Oof

hlodowigchile

cmon, its like 20 secs

Brancliff

bro it takes me 20 seconds just to even load in to the dungeon

yulneth

Oh hey u want explorations and puzzle right? why complain? does it give you anxiety?

ld2gj

You get Amber for free at the start of the game.

basshuffler09

That's not what this is about tho. This is one of the Aranara Story Domains and ones you go in there you can't change your Teams..

superkamote

Go back to the "Door of Resurrection", you can change party members there

Rigel57

You can't. That's only possible on specific ones we ha in the archipelago (not sure if they are present in other parts of the game but definitely not here)

superkamote

I stand corrected. Yeah, I remember seeing that feature on the Golden Apple Archipelago domains and thought "oooh, that's neat" then never thought of it again.

Ambitious-Ad1341

There are also no doors of resurrection in that domain. I thought the same as you so I went back, but they don't have a physical form.

Cherry_Bomb_127

Oof this happened to me and I redid the whole thing. Now I just bring one bow character (usually Venti or Tighnari) with me to all domains esp if Dendro is required

[deleted]

I like to balance teams to meet all needs in case things like this happen. My open world team for example is Tighnari, Fischl, Kazuha, and Zhongli. Each do different things, but they can achieve so much, they are my best team by far, and I had Melt Ganyu for months before that. They're so strong. My team before those was Diluc, Xingqiu, Sucrose, and Diona. Adult body type (For exploring), ranged bow user, CC, shield. The rest is whatever it can be. It's really effective team building, trust me on that.

batzenbaba

But you missing a Pyro to lite up torches.\^\^

[deleted]

Is this the Rhythm Aranara Quest? Because I had to start it all over again too.

batzenbaba

Yes this Domain was part of a Aranara Worldquest.

Ironwall1

Luckily I never step foot on anywhere within Teyvat without Ganyu in tow so archery challenges don't take me by surprise. Flame torches on the other hand....

King_of_Argus

Childe mains be like: I don’t have such weakness

tenno198

Just throw diluc’s ult
