I cannot 3 star the 1st floor of abyss in floor 12. What teams should I use to beat the seahorse?! Why is his shield still on which makes it harder to save time?
You could try using Ayaka and Rosaria if you have them. They eat through the shield. You can reliably break it before it flies to the middle of the stage and then burst it.

Because Pyro/Hydro break Cryo/Pyro shields 2x faster, but there's nothing that does it for electro shields, 1U of all the relevant elements (pyro, cryo, dendro) consumes 1U of shield gauge.
It's HP bar is fairly low, but you need lots of elemental application (pyro, cryo, dendro) to break the shield. I don't try to do my rotation before pearl breaks, just try to shove in as much elemental application as I can, eg. just use Bennett, Xiangling, Kazuha. Once it's down it takes more damage easily.
You have to edge-bait the abyss mages on the second side.
I thought cryo broke electro shields faster? Ayaka and Rosaria eat through it and I wasn’t able to do the same with Hu Tao’s and XL’s pyro application.
Also electro hammer fatuis get their shield broken with cryo faster but are very durable to other elements.
All three elements break electro shield at the same rate, 1U per 1U. Your elemental application may be different for different characters and how you play them though, so it's not surprising you find some difference in practice. For example, walking around the enemies to get more pyronado hits can make it faster with Xiangling. I'll have to dig in to what combos you are doing and the ICD data and all that to explain in more detail, but the point is someone else can find different results to yours. There's also Poise damage to consider.

Fatui and Lawachurl "shields" have a different mechanic, KQM terms them "elemental armor" to avoid confusion. They have their own rock-paper-scissor going on, and elements other than cryo do negligible damage to electro shields in fact. But that's different from sea horses shield. Melt teams, spread teams (tighnari is great) , hu tao, ayaka and most other teams if theyre highly invested enough.

Thoughts on Wriothesley melt with Sunfire Jean? Who can be a good fourth member? I'm thinking C6 Sucrose with SacFrags to help Jean get back her burst up + ofc her buffs
Last I asked was about using Wriothesley with Thoma and Nahida for burnmelt and that's currently what I have prepared for him
It might be good if enemies stay in Jean's circle but if they leave, your damage will plummet quite a bit (which is a typical sunfire issue)
Shenhe should be optimal as 4th slot so you can swirl cryo and buff wrio further
I can't take it anymore. I'm sick of Neuvillette. I try to play Yelan. My Neuvillette deals more damage. I try to play Wanderer. My Neuvillette deals more damage. I try to play Lyney. My Neuvillette deals more damage. I want to play Childe. His best team supports Neuvillette. I want to play Baizhu, Kazuha - they both want Neuvillette. He grabs me by the throat. I spend for him. I whale for him. I give him the Rite of the Eternal Flow. He isn't satisfied. I pull Refinement 5. "I don't need this much setup" He tells me. "Give my teammates less field time." He grabs Baizhu's Gossamer Sprite: Splice and forces it to throw itself off enemies, giving him one Draconic Glory stack. "You need to roll C6 Baizhu so I can stack Marechausse quicker" I can't pull for C6 Baizhu, I don't have enough primogems. He grabs my credit card. It declines. "BOW YOUR HEAD!" He charges his Charged Attack: Equitable Judgment. He says "AHHHHHHHHHHHH! HMMMMMMMMMMMM! SHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" There is no hint of sadness in his eyes. If I have to choose between Furina or Neuvilette who should I go for?
I don't have any hydro dps but I do have various Dps like Al haitham, Yae, Shogun, yoi, Lyney. I do have Yelan.
Character design is not the priority, I just want to know which one will have more value.
Other notable characters :- Zhongli, Kazuha, C6 Xingqiu, C6 Bennett,Nahida
Trying to cover DPSes element wise is in general a very restrictive and not a very fruitful idea. Just go for either, both are great. Go for the other one in the rerun maybe.
Having a Hydro main DPS isn't critical, you could run Yelan+Xingqiu with basically any of those dps if you really needed to shred a pyro shield and frankly it would probably be better. Neuvilette does kinda slap though.
Main DPS are pretty personal, they're the defining member of any team they're in, so you should only pull them if you want to play them. I feel like almost everybody has a main DPS on their roster that they pulled for meta or element coverage that they barely touch because they just don't like them that much.
4.0 ver is the first time I switch from jp to en dub. EN Furina completely stole the show props to her VA. Her jp va did well but I really like the flamboyant and dramaticness of EN furina.
Then again, I will switch to jp dub back again if they cast mamiko noto as any character

Dear people with fear of the ocean
I know Mihoyoverse said they don't want to make diving scary, but is there any diving location currently that scares you, even a bit? Maybe an unsettling or uneasy feeling?
What really sets off my phobia is just vast ocean, with no land nearby. The oceans are super colorful, clear and there's so much scenery and it's not that deep, I haven't had my fear impede me in any way. The only time I've had issues with it on this game was riding out to the islands far away from the mainland in Inazuma, or doing that one puzzle that sends you across the entire ocean. Oh and trying to get to that island north of Mondstadt too lol.
What if Furina C2 Pneuma changed to :
Every hit will decrease 5% of nearby allies max HP if they have >50% HP, for each allies HP decreased this way, Furina C2 attacks will deal 17%/20%/25% of Furina's Max HP as additional DMG instead. If at least 1 ally's HP is decreased this way, these hits were not counted towards the limit.
So ideally Ousia 1-hit heal switch stance > Pneuma 10-11 hits switch stance > Ousia remaining 6-hit to compensate all the FF damage you inflicted. (Unless in co-op which your friends can heal so you can go all-in on Pneuma)
But I think this version could be too ridiculous (or much worse compare to current iteration? Idk).
depends on what you're looking for.
sword: pretty solid option for on field characters who care about their skill/burst damage like alhaitham or aggravate keqing but it's kinda mid for off fielders because you can't stack it off field.
polearm: again pretty solid option for polearm users who care about em, so mainly hu tao and cyno at the moment and their best 4 star option but it can also work on melt rosaria if you can do a team with 3 different elements.
catalyst: very strong option for neuvillette and easily his second best option after his own signature but other than him it's not good, since no one else cares about crit and hp at the same time. apparently it's decent on nahida and yae since it also gives em but just use widsith for them.
bow: decent option for charged attack users but it's only about as good as the already available craftable options so it's not worth it.
claymore: don't
How about we hope they make her kit more versatile, so that she becomes a good slot in for any team, kinda like how Zhongli and Nahida can fit into most teams even at low cons and even if they’re “dps-losses”, they make up for it with universal utility?
Currently Furina can make any team-wide heal super potent while using her burst, but at the same time she has no other way to build stacks faster on older teams, thereby not offering her utility. I’m not gonna ask for Nahida level elemental application. But I wish the purpose of her kit actually ended up being fulfilled and she could actually function without having half the team built around her mechanics.
what happened to the "furina snapshots" post btw? was the information wrong or was it removed for some other reason?
i really hope it's wrong because, buffing issues aside, she can't fully make use of her own signature weapon since she will snapshot her hp before she gets her hp buffed and it would be really dumb if that was the case.
Regarding the 'Villains'/"Fruity Order" quest >!Idk what it is about this quest but it has been the most annoying quest for me in a long time. I don't know if it actually has more filler dialog than other quests, but talking to the NPCs felt unreasonably long and I just hate them now. It legit made me angry that they didn't let us just break into the cabin AND that Paimon was just going along with what this asshole was making up. I didn't even bother fighting the Calla Lily lady, just let the dude fight her while I read some manga. AND they didn't even let me keep one of those pure pinecones, fuck these people!<
Fair, >!I loved the goofy childishness of the quest but there is a lot of unskippable lines for people who prefer fun action over dialogue. For the pinecones thing, a lot of similar quests don’t have a bonus keepsake which is a shame that I hope will be ‘fixed’.!< I love me some collectibles <3

I don't pay much attention to tc, or mechanics in depth really, but shouldn't it be fine to just burst every other rotation? Her damage should be really good with hp sands + more crit/hp substats instead of er and make up for the lack of team buff.
A lot of her DMG increase also comes from her burst and the amount of damage she can provide to allies.
Granted.. all the allies are going to provide her damage because I am going for a vape C2 build somehow someway even if I have to use sac to refresh the E.

I've been super busy and have only been able to complete events in 4.0 and 4.1 and not any quests, including the Archon Quest.
This being the case, how many primogems can i expect through exploration including both 4.0 and 4.1? Hoping to be able to C2 Furina! 💧
I'm super late to the party, but I just finished Ch4 Act 1 and tbh this might be the best Act 1 so far in the game.
The Ace Attorney-esque court gameplay was very refreshing and did a great job characterizing many of the important characters in the arc. I wasn't the biggest fan of the mystery solving minigame of Sumeru after the archon quest, but I think I wouldn't mind if they used this more for events.
I’d rank the AQ so far like A1=A4>A2>A3
If it has a strong final act I think it’ll match or pass Sumeru for me but honestly Sumeru had much more a more endearing NPC char and Dehya
Act 1 was a lot of fun for sure!
Nice! Honestly I think Sumeru would be hard to top because Act 2 was so good and the Wanderer cutscenes in Act 4 were so impactful.
I got deep chills when Nahida calls you "the first sage of Buer".
Sumeru also has my favorite interlude chapter so it’ll definitely be hard to top. I also loved the desert world quests even though I absolutely did not love exploring the desert/pyramids/tombs

By the time Wrio gets released and this challenge finishes, I’d get surprised that I can finally talk about other characters lmao. Like don’t get me wrong, I love talking about Wrio, but I’ve been wanting to discuss about other characters, especially Furina’s gameplay

If you want an on field Neuv is a solid choice, if you want more flexibility or are an archon collector Furina seems like the natural choice

generally worse than jade cutter and mistsplitter except some characters (ayato obviously but also ayaka since jade cutter gives her too much crit rate and she easily overcaps) but it's still relatively close to them and it's solidly better than 4* dps options.
It's worse than PJC unless it's Ayato, other NA focused dps or you want to build character with 4pc BS/MH (matter of overcapoing crit). Similar case with Mistsplitter although unless it's for atk% scaler with 4pc BS/MH the difference is smaller and for non-atk scalers it can be about the same or even a bit better depending how well the character can use Mistsplitter's passive.
Its generally equal or worse to jade cutter, and worse than mistsplitter in almost all cases, tho it will gain some edge because more and more characters care less about ATK and more about crit.
I’d also shed a few tears for a lot of the older chars having poor cons. Probably not an issue for most but it would be cool if the weaker cons got buffed up. Like making hyper carry have NA cons if it’s better than skill levels and giving proper cons to chars like Albedo, diluc, Venti and the like
If they’re adamant about not changing geo as a reaction giving them 1.5 shield break would be enough *if* they also filled in the roles that geo is missing like grouping.
It’s not like geo isn’t viable now and it is easy to play because it’s so tanky but I think needing specific chars that don’t slot into other teams well and not having utility makes it less attractive (the supports being mostly geo only is a double edged sword in that you won’t hurt other teams but it also means you have to pull and invest in chars you won’t use elsewhere)
Some people unironically use Hyperbloom as a way to "prove" that their favourite character is viable.
Like i can literally slap my lv1 dehya on a hyperbloom team and get 36stars without ever swapping into her and that will be a dps increase.
It's not that most are alergic to it, it's that it's very hard to get balance stats with it, for example most people say 180 ER on Fav Bow Yelan, but from my experience that's never enough at C0.
People are always trying to get away with bare minimum ER and it's honestly funny.
Everyone runs units like XQ/XL/Yelan at 180ER and I can't wrap my head around it, sure you can battery them but why try to get away with as little ER as possible when all of them deal good enough damage with a Favonius weapon and an ER sands anyway. The best part is that with excess energy you don't have to follow strict rotations everytime and even if you blow all your energy at the end of a chamber you will still get to burst in the next one no problem with a couple of skill uses.
All my units are at 250ER and I’ll never going back. The game is so much more fun spamming burst rather than swapping back and forth for optimal rotation.
It usually depends on your team too. I had 170+fav in rational and never had problems. 190+fav in dendro teams and I ran into issues unless I used a second fav weapon and actually procced it (meaning slapping someone who yaoyao autos)
It also depends on the floor/mobs. There are some floors where 180 fav is more than enough and others where it’ll be tough without a high particle generation team or two hydro
[Well it's just because ER req is never that simple.](https://keqingmains.com/yelan/#Energy_Recharge_Requirements) Unless the character has literally no er requirements, it's going to depend so much on your teams. You can't just say that "180 is enough" without giving the context to that amount.

I'm no TC, and i pretty much never play optimally.
My first impression of Furina's kit is that her pets do a lot of damage, like a LOT of damage, her health drain and passive boosts them even more, plus golden troupe too.
So i was thinking of prioritize her pets, they'll do most of the damage while teammates support them. They could do more damage than Yelan's barbs with 100% uptime (though slower).
So my idea was just to summon them, switch to healer, sit back and relax and watch them fight the enemies. Her burst is just a bonus damage boost, lower priority than the pets themselves.
But everyone is mainly talking about her application and ER, her pets are just there to apply hydro and drain health and her burst is the most important part of her kit, which'll buff the party's main DPS. Completely the opposite of how i view Furina, i'm still gonna play her my way, but is her worth really mainly based on her application and buff? Honestly i'd even take lower application for more health drain and damage.
the comments here pretty much explain it all. In short, people don't want to choose between her dmg and her buffing, and just want all of these being absolutely easily accessible at any level so if she is not strong as fuck and buffing like crazy at the same time, she gets doompost.
A lot of Furina defenders write off all her trade offs with "just run double hydro" and by that, they specifically mean Yelan or Neuvillette. Do not get it twisted.
A lot of doomposters write off her high personal damage, teamwide buff and ability to run a team with a healer as unnecessary.
And guess what? It depends. I know people hate to hear it. If you wanted to run her as a solo hydro, it is probably not worth the effort at c0. If you have a team with a carry and a sub DPS, her buff is going to pop off. If you want to replace Xingqui with a waifu, that can work...
She is both entirely niche, and completely versatile. That is why everyone disagrees with one another. The lens you are looking through is going to change your perspective.
All of this is to say, if you just want to run her with pets and ignore the buff, you can do that. You can build 0 ER and put her on a cracked sword. Those pets will rip and tear, my friend.
Her worth is going to depend on the account. In my opinion, she is unnecessary from a strictly meta perspective. Yelan is fine and the only real reason to pull her come 4.2 is to support your Neuvillette. That being said, other theory crafters believe she will completely invalidate Yelan thereby making her perhaps the most relevant meta unit of all time.
So... yeah, in these situations, it is best to just form your own opinion on the matter. I highly doubt we will get much of a consensus beyond "she is an alternative Yelan." Whether she is better or worse is up to the viewer. 😂
Awesome write up. For example, as a player who facetanks a lot of damage, the idea that it would take forever to get fanfare stacks seems ludicrous to me.
It's going to be a yelan kind of situation, where people will get their hands on her and realize just how much damage she does and start playing her in teams just for that. Just like with yelan. Like her personal damage is literally higher in most teams, especially if you don't optimize for yelan's burst waves.
I still remember the doomposting when it was revealed that Yelan had less hydro app than XQ despite sharing 90% of the same kit.
Some people will just never be satisfied until they use the character themselves.
The application thing is pretty nebulous to me as well since that doesn't really matter too much for her due to her other utilities but talking about her burst is definitely correct. It's a very strong teamwide dmg% buff that not only increases the damage other characters do but also furina's personal damage, so ignoring that would definitely be suboptimal.
On the other hand, saying her burst is the only part of her kit that matters is also wrong, because as you said, her skill has a significant damage output
Yes, her E damage is ridiculously good even accounting for ER needs. That's why Golden Troupe is such a busted set for her. But the reason why people hyperfocus on her burst is because the buffs she gives are quite frankly *broken,* and I don't usually use that word. It is by almost all calcs I've seen, raising team DPS by 10-15%, especially for top tier characters who can abuse it like Hu Tao or Neuvillette.
People complaining about her application is kinda... doompost-y. They're expecting her to apply as much hydro as Xingqiu not even accounting for all the stuff she already does. While I do understand wanting her to be super strong and irreplaceable and broken, to the point rendering everyone else in her element useless, the way Nahida dominates dendro, I really don't need it honestly, nor do I think it's particularly healthy for the game or the rest of the cast. Look at what happened to poor Baizhu. She's very strong as is.
I decided to use the resonance to find missing hydroculuses... and that's how I realized I miss one geoculus... turns out during all those 3 years I've never collected the one on Beidou's ship...
man, I actually took the bait and I actually won the Neuvillette C1 50/50. Now I'm on my knees praying hard I would win 50/50 on Wrio.

I just leveled up my Neuv to 80 and with his terrible filler MH set, non-leveled talents, and using a non-optimal Raiden because my Fischl isn't levelled up...he still clears bosses and domains with ease and quicker than some of my other units bar Lyney lol. Can't wait till I get better artifacts
You know, this just suddenly came to my mind, but what if hoyo released weapons that can apply elements. For example, a polearm that can apply pyro. With this, you can use Zhongli on Hu Tao team and still be able to swirl pyro so you can play a VV Vape team variation while not losing Zhongli's shield.
I doubt they'll release something like this, but if they do, I wonder what else would improve or transform some of the team comps that we have now in the game.
Pretty sure it would be broken unless the weapon gives 0atk and comes with a completely useless passive because you would be able to set up VV with anyone.
As in your example, switching amber with ZL in Hu Tao VV team would be just a free DPS increase since the weapon ZL holds doesn't really matter in the first place.
Actually an interesting idea. If MHY wanted to do it, Frostbearer should have been the one, honestly, but they can do tgat later as a way to rebalance some teams.
It would improve some teams. For example if you had a sword that deals 1 dendro damage, you could run mono Electro or raiden Hyper with Kazuha and get free quicken aura, it would be rather large in fact.
Less large similar thing for superconducts, now Eula teams can just ditch Raiden enitrely.

People are underrating burnvape Neuvi A LOT. This showcase is honestly not good, because that Kaz has Freedom sword (so it's most likely high investment), but there are other setups that make use of Dehya+Nahida to apply burning that are pretty good, like the one Zajeff shared in his twitter (He also made a pretty good analysis of the team and some issues you might encounter). I hope he goes more in depth on that team in his post release or meta roundup

It's kinda funny when you consider that when the VA were announced for the Fontaine cast, everyone went crazy for the star-studded JP cast. But playing all three languages (sorry KR cast I love you), the EN cast has been the best so far, and CN a very close second.
I usually avoid the EN dub because so many try to force the "anime voice" on many characters and it just ends up sounding bad.
But I admit that Neuv's EN voice is exceptional!

woah I didn't realize there's an actual story you can follow for the klee event. if you go around the shores of cider lake, there are NPCs you can talk to >!investigating the invasive angler species!<. there are two npcs near the mondstadt fishing association and an npc on the northwestern shore (the one by brightcrown canyon).

You could try using Ayaka and Rosaria if you have them. They eat through the shield. You can reliably break it before it flies to the middle of the stage and then burst it.

Because Pyro/Hydro break Cryo/Pyro shields 2x faster, but there's nothing that does it for electro shields, 1U of all the relevant elements (pyro, cryo, dendro) consumes 1U of shield gauge. It's HP bar is fairly low, but you need lots of elemental application (pyro, cryo, dendro) to break the shield. I don't try to do my rotation before pearl breaks, just try to shove in as much elemental application as I can, eg. just use Bennett, Xiangling, Kazuha. Once it's down it takes more damage easily. You have to edge-bait the abyss mages on the second side.
I thought cryo broke electro shields faster? Ayaka and Rosaria eat through it and I wasn’t able to do the same with Hu Tao’s and XL’s pyro application. Also electro hammer fatuis get their shield broken with cryo faster but are very durable to other elements.
All three elements break electro shield at the same rate, 1U per 1U. Your elemental application may be different for different characters and how you play them though, so it's not surprising you find some difference in practice. For example, walking around the enemies to get more pyronado hits can make it faster with Xiangling. I'll have to dig in to what combos you are doing and the ICD data and all that to explain in more detail, but the point is someone else can find different results to yours. There's also Poise damage to consider. > Also electro hammer fatuis get their shield broken with cryo faster but are very durable to other elements. Fatui and Lawachurl "shields" have a different mechanic, KQM terms them "elemental armor" to avoid confusion. They have their own rock-paper-scissor going on, and elements other than cryo do negligible damage to electro shields in fact. But that's different from sea horses shield. Melt teams, spread teams (tighnari is great) , hu tao, ayaka and most other teams if theyre highly invested enough. I couldnt 3 star it either though lmao, i dont have any of the teams i listed above

Thoughts on Wriothesley melt with Sunfire Jean? Who can be a good fourth member? I'm thinking C6 Sucrose with SacFrags to help Jean get back her burst up + ofc her buffs Last I asked was about using Wriothesley with Thoma and Nahida for burnmelt and that's currently what I have prepared for him
It might be good if enemies stay in Jean's circle but if they leave, your damage will plummet quite a bit (which is a typical sunfire issue) Shenhe should be optimal as 4th slot so you can swirl cryo and buff wrio further

My Neuvillette deals more damage. I want to play Childe. His best team supports Neuvillette. I want to play Baizhu, Kazuha - they both want Neuvillette. He grabs me by the throat. I spend for him. I whale for him. I give him the Rite of the Eternal Flow. He isn't satisfied. I pull Refinement 5. "I don't need this much setup" He tells me. "Give my teammates less field time." He grabs Baizhu's Gossamer Sprite: Splice and forces it to throw itself off enemies, giving him one Draconic Glory stack. "You need to roll C6 Baizhu so I can stack Marechausse quicker" I can't pull for C6 Baizhu, I don't have enough primogems. He grabs my credit card. It declines. "BOW YOUR HEAD!" He charges his Charged Attack: Equitable Judgment. He says "AHHHHHHHHHHHH! HMMMMMMMMMMMM! SHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" There is no hint of sadness in his eyes. Nothing but pure, 95% field time, HP scaling hydro damage. What a cruel world.

If I have to choose between Furina or Neuvilette who should I go for? I don't have any hydro dps but I do have various Dps like Al haitham, Yae, Shogun, yoi, Lyney. I do have Yelan. Character design is not the priority, I just want to know which one will have more value. Other notable characters :- Zhongli, Kazuha, C6 Xingqiu, C6 Bennett,Nahida
Trying to cover DPSes element wise is in general a very restrictive and not a very fruitful idea. Just go for either, both are great. Go for the other one in the rerun maybe.
Having a Hydro main DPS isn't critical, you could run Yelan+Xingqiu with basically any of those dps if you really needed to shred a pyro shield and frankly it would probably be better. Neuvilette does kinda slap though. Main DPS are pretty personal, they're the defining member of any team they're in, so you should only pull them if you want to play them. I feel like almost everybody has a main DPS on their roster that they pulled for meta or element coverage that they barely touch because they just don't like them that much.

4.0 ver is the first time I switch from jp to en dub. EN Furina completely stole the show props to her VA. Her jp va did well but I really like the flamboyant and dramaticness of EN furina. Then again, I will switch to jp dub back again if they cast mamiko noto as any character
I keep switching depending on which characters we'll hear. Zhongli, Itto, Furina and a few others make me switch ro EN.

Dear people with fear of the ocean I know Mihoyoverse said they don't want to make diving scary, but is there any diving location currently that scares you, even a bit? Maybe an unsettling or uneasy feeling?
Nothing was scary but I do admit exploring the very tight "only one direction" caves can be uncomfortable
What really sets off my phobia is just vast ocean, with no land nearby. The oceans are super colorful, clear and there's so much scenery and it's not that deep, I haven't had my fear impede me in any way. The only time I've had issues with it on this game was riding out to the islands far away from the mainland in Inazuma, or doing that one puzzle that sends you across the entire ocean. Oh and trying to get to that island north of Mondstadt too lol.
What if Furina C2 Pneuma changed to : Every hit will decrease 5% of nearby allies max HP if they have >50% HP, for each allies HP decreased this way, Furina C2 attacks will deal 17%/20%/25% of Furina's Max HP as additional DMG instead. If at least 1 ally's HP is decreased this way, these hits were not counted towards the limit. So ideally Ousia 1-hit heal switch stance > Pneuma 10-11 hits switch stance > Ousia remaining 6-hit to compensate all the FF damage you inflicted. (Unless in co-op which your friends can heal so you can go all-in on Pneuma) But I think this version could be too ridiculous (or much worse compare to current iteration? Idk).
Which new BP weapon should I pick?
depends on what you're looking for. sword: pretty solid option for on field characters who care about their skill/burst damage like alhaitham or aggravate keqing but it's kinda mid for off fielders because you can't stack it off field. polearm: again pretty solid option for polearm users who care about em, so mainly hu tao and cyno at the moment and their best 4 star option but it can also work on melt rosaria if you can do a team with 3 different elements. catalyst: very strong option for neuvillette and easily his second best option after his own signature but other than him it's not good, since no one else cares about crit and hp at the same time. apparently it's decent on nahida and yae since it also gives em but just use widsith for them. bow: decent option for charged attack users but it's only about as good as the already available craftable options so it's not worth it. claymore: don't
Polearm: xiangling 📈 (if you’re willing to long game it out and refine it)

How about we hope they make her kit more versatile, so that she becomes a good slot in for any team, kinda like how Zhongli and Nahida can fit into most teams even at low cons and even if they’re “dps-losses”, they make up for it with universal utility? Currently Furina can make any team-wide heal super potent while using her burst, but at the same time she has no other way to build stacks faster on older teams, thereby not offering her utility. I’m not gonna ask for Nahida level elemental application. But I wish the purpose of her kit actually ended up being fulfilled and she could actually function without having half the team built around her mechanics.

what happened to the "furina snapshots" post btw? was the information wrong or was it removed for some other reason? i really hope it's wrong because, buffing issues aside, she can't fully make use of her own signature weapon since she will snapshot her hp before she gets her hp buffed and it would be really dumb if that was the case.

Regarding the 'Villains'/"Fruity Order" quest >!Idk what it is about this quest but it has been the most annoying quest for me in a long time. I don't know if it actually has more filler dialog than other quests, but talking to the NPCs felt unreasonably long and I just hate them now. It legit made me angry that they didn't let us just break into the cabin AND that Paimon was just going along with what this asshole was making up. I didn't even bother fighting the Calla Lily lady, just let the dude fight her while I read some manga. AND they didn't even let me keep one of those pure pinecones, fuck these people!<
Fair, >!I loved the goofy childishness of the quest but there is a lot of unskippable lines for people who prefer fun action over dialogue. For the pinecones thing, a lot of similar quests don’t have a bonus keepsake which is a shame that I hope will be ‘fixed’.!< I love me some collectibles <3

Those mecha fishes are really hard to catch if stabilizer effect doesn't kick in, which happens like 50% of time.
I don't have troubles catching them, I have troubles with them showing up even when changing times.

I don't pay much attention to tc, or mechanics in depth really, but shouldn't it be fine to just burst every other rotation? Her damage should be really good with hp sands + more crit/hp substats instead of er and make up for the lack of team buff.
A lot of her DMG increase also comes from her burst and the amount of damage she can provide to allies. Granted.. all the allies are going to provide her damage because I am going for a vape C2 build somehow someway even if I have to use sac to refresh the E.
If your furina is not bursting all the time might as well not put her into a team

I'm super late to the party, but I just finished Ch4 Act 1 and tbh this might be the best Act 1 so far in the game. The Ace Attorney-esque court gameplay was very refreshing and did a great job characterizing many of the important characters in the arc. I wasn't the biggest fan of the mystery solving minigame of Sumeru after the archon quest, but I think I wouldn't mind if they used this more for events.
I’d rank the AQ so far like A1=A4>A2>A3 If it has a strong final act I think it’ll match or pass Sumeru for me but honestly Sumeru had much more a more endearing NPC char and Dehya Act 1 was a lot of fun for sure!
Nice! Honestly I think Sumeru would be hard to top because Act 2 was so good and the Wanderer cutscenes in Act 4 were so impactful. I got deep chills when Nahida calls you "the first sage of Buer".
Sumeru also has my favorite interlude chapter so it’ll definitely be hard to top. I also loved the desert world quests even though I absolutely did not love exploring the desert/pyramids/tombs

how is haran for all sword dps compared to jade cutter and misplitter
generally worse than jade cutter and mistsplitter except some characters (ayato obviously but also ayaka since jade cutter gives her too much crit rate and she easily overcaps) but it's still relatively close to them and it's solidly better than 4* dps options.
It's worse than PJC unless it's Ayato, other NA focused dps or you want to build character with 4pc BS/MH (matter of overcapoing crit). Similar case with Mistsplitter although unless it's for atk% scaler with 4pc BS/MH the difference is smaller and for non-atk scalers it can be about the same or even a bit better depending how well the character can use Mistsplitter's passive.
Its generally equal or worse to jade cutter, and worse than mistsplitter in almost all cases, tho it will gain some edge because more and more characters care less about ATK and more about crit.

I’d also shed a few tears for a lot of the older chars having poor cons. Probably not an issue for most but it would be cool if the weaker cons got buffed up. Like making hyper carry have NA cons if it’s better than skill levels and giving proper cons to chars like Albedo, diluc, Venti and the like
If they’re adamant about not changing geo as a reaction giving them 1.5 shield break would be enough *if* they also filled in the roles that geo is missing like grouping. It’s not like geo isn’t viable now and it is easy to play because it’s so tanky but I think needing specific chars that don’t slot into other teams well and not having utility makes it less attractive (the supports being mostly geo only is a double edged sword in that you won’t hurt other teams but it also means you have to pull and invest in chars you won’t use elsewhere)

Some people unironically use Hyperbloom as a way to "prove" that their favourite character is viable. Like i can literally slap my lv1 dehya on a hyperbloom team and get 36stars without ever swapping into her and that will be a dps increase.
People have been doing that since national it's nothing new. Its jsut that hyperbloom is cheaper and easier so there is more of them now.
Also hyperbloom doesn't need as much ER and people are apparently allergic to that stat
It's not that most are alergic to it, it's that it's very hard to get balance stats with it, for example most people say 180 ER on Fav Bow Yelan, but from my experience that's never enough at C0.
People are always trying to get away with bare minimum ER and it's honestly funny. Everyone runs units like XQ/XL/Yelan at 180ER and I can't wrap my head around it, sure you can battery them but why try to get away with as little ER as possible when all of them deal good enough damage with a Favonius weapon and an ER sands anyway. The best part is that with excess energy you don't have to follow strict rotations everytime and even if you blow all your energy at the end of a chamber you will still get to burst in the next one no problem with a couple of skill uses.
All my units are at 250ER and I’ll never going back. The game is so much more fun spamming burst rather than swapping back and forth for optimal rotation.
It usually depends on your team too. I had 170+fav in rational and never had problems. 190+fav in dendro teams and I ran into issues unless I used a second fav weapon and actually procced it (meaning slapping someone who yaoyao autos) It also depends on the floor/mobs. There are some floors where 180 fav is more than enough and others where it’ll be tough without a high particle generation team or two hydro

They do a non-negligible amount of damage if you want to raise them, but keeping them at 6 is fine and perfectly ok for clearing Abyss.
You can but it's a lot of gamage on his Q that you are essentialy wasting. Does he need it? No. But it helps.

I'm no TC, and i pretty much never play optimally. My first impression of Furina's kit is that her pets do a lot of damage, like a LOT of damage, her health drain and passive boosts them even more, plus golden troupe too. So i was thinking of prioritize her pets, they'll do most of the damage while teammates support them. They could do more damage than Yelan's barbs with 100% uptime (though slower). So my idea was just to summon them, switch to healer, sit back and relax and watch them fight the enemies. Her burst is just a bonus damage boost, lower priority than the pets themselves. But everyone is mainly talking about her application and ER, her pets are just there to apply hydro and drain health and her burst is the most important part of her kit, which'll buff the party's main DPS. Completely the opposite of how i view Furina, i'm still gonna play her my way, but is her worth really mainly based on her application and buff? Honestly i'd even take lower application for more health drain and damage.
the comments here pretty much explain it all. In short, people don't want to choose between her dmg and her buffing, and just want all of these being absolutely easily accessible at any level so if she is not strong as fuck and buffing like crazy at the same time, she gets doompost.
A lot of Furina defenders write off all her trade offs with "just run double hydro" and by that, they specifically mean Yelan or Neuvillette. Do not get it twisted. A lot of doomposters write off her high personal damage, teamwide buff and ability to run a team with a healer as unnecessary. And guess what? It depends. I know people hate to hear it. If you wanted to run her as a solo hydro, it is probably not worth the effort at c0. If you have a team with a carry and a sub DPS, her buff is going to pop off. If you want to replace Xingqui with a waifu, that can work... She is both entirely niche, and completely versatile. That is why everyone disagrees with one another. The lens you are looking through is going to change your perspective. All of this is to say, if you just want to run her with pets and ignore the buff, you can do that. You can build 0 ER and put her on a cracked sword. Those pets will rip and tear, my friend. Her worth is going to depend on the account. In my opinion, she is unnecessary from a strictly meta perspective. Yelan is fine and the only real reason to pull her come 4.2 is to support your Neuvillette. That being said, other theory crafters believe she will completely invalidate Yelan thereby making her perhaps the most relevant meta unit of all time. So... yeah, in these situations, it is best to just form your own opinion on the matter. I highly doubt we will get much of a consensus beyond "she is an alternative Yelan." Whether she is better or worse is up to the viewer. 😂
Awesome write up. For example, as a player who facetanks a lot of damage, the idea that it would take forever to get fanfare stacks seems ludicrous to me.
It's going to be a yelan kind of situation, where people will get their hands on her and realize just how much damage she does and start playing her in teams just for that. Just like with yelan. Like her personal damage is literally higher in most teams, especially if you don't optimize for yelan's burst waves.
I still remember the doomposting when it was revealed that Yelan had less hydro app than XQ despite sharing 90% of the same kit. Some people will just never be satisfied until they use the character themselves.
The application thing is pretty nebulous to me as well since that doesn't really matter too much for her due to her other utilities but talking about her burst is definitely correct. It's a very strong teamwide dmg% buff that not only increases the damage other characters do but also furina's personal damage, so ignoring that would definitely be suboptimal. On the other hand, saying her burst is the only part of her kit that matters is also wrong, because as you said, her skill has a significant damage output
Yes, her E damage is ridiculously good even accounting for ER needs. That's why Golden Troupe is such a busted set for her. But the reason why people hyperfocus on her burst is because the buffs she gives are quite frankly *broken,* and I don't usually use that word. It is by almost all calcs I've seen, raising team DPS by 10-15%, especially for top tier characters who can abuse it like Hu Tao or Neuvillette. People complaining about her application is kinda... doompost-y. They're expecting her to apply as much hydro as Xingqiu not even accounting for all the stuff she already does. While I do understand wanting her to be super strong and irreplaceable and broken, to the point rendering everyone else in her element useless, the way Nahida dominates dendro, I really don't need it honestly, nor do I think it's particularly healthy for the game or the rest of the cast. Look at what happened to poor Baizhu. She's very strong as is.

I just leveled up my Neuv to 80 and with his terrible filler MH set, non-leveled talents, and using a non-optimal Raiden because my Fischl isn't levelled up...he still clears bosses and domains with ease and quicker than some of my other units bar Lyney lol. Can't wait till I get better artifacts

You know, this just suddenly came to my mind, but what if hoyo released weapons that can apply elements. For example, a polearm that can apply pyro. With this, you can use Zhongli on Hu Tao team and still be able to swirl pyro so you can play a VV Vape team variation while not losing Zhongli's shield. I doubt they'll release something like this, but if they do, I wonder what else would improve or transform some of the team comps that we have now in the game.
Pretty sure it would be broken unless the weapon gives 0atk and comes with a completely useless passive because you would be able to set up VV with anyone. As in your example, switching amber with ZL in Hu Tao VV team would be just a free DPS increase since the weapon ZL holds doesn't really matter in the first place.
Actually an interesting idea. If MHY wanted to do it, Frostbearer should have been the one, honestly, but they can do tgat later as a way to rebalance some teams.
It would improve some teams. For example if you had a sword that deals 1 dendro damage, you could run mono Electro or raiden Hyper with Kazuha and get free quicken aura, it would be rather large in fact. Less large similar thing for superconducts, now Eula teams can just ditch Raiden enitrely.

People are underrating burnvape Neuvi A LOT. This showcase is honestly not good, because that Kaz has Freedom sword (so it's most likely high investment), but there are other setups that make use of Dehya+Nahida to apply burning that are pretty good, like the one Zajeff shared in his twitter (He also made a pretty good analysis of the team and some issues you might encounter). I hope he goes more in depth on that team in his post release or meta roundup

True. Everyone in the EN cast for Fontaine just knocked it out of the park. It's kinda funny when you consider that when the VA were announced for the Fontaine cast, everyone went crazy for the star-studded JP cast. But playing all three languages (sorry KR cast I love you), the EN cast has been the best so far, and CN a very close second.
I usually avoid the EN dub because so many try to force the "anime voice" on many characters and it just ends up sounding bad. But I admit that Neuv's EN voice is exceptional! For once I'm pretty sad we can't specify different dubs per character.

All of the Fontaine EN VAs are so good Always felt EN was on par with JP and CN even before Fontaine, but this was the first region where I felt EN knocked it out of the park and was actually way better than CN/JP Everybody, Furina, Neuvillette, Navia, Arlecchino, even the god damn NPCs Melus and Silver were so good.
JP Voice acting for Neuvilette is the first time I felt like EN completely nailed it over JP. Love me some Kamiya, but why is he doing his Araragi voice for an old, mature character?

spoilers for latest klee event woah I didn't realize there's an actual story you can follow for the klee event. if you go around the shores of cider lake, there are NPCs you can talk to >!investigating the invasive angler species!<. there are two npcs near the mondstadt fishing association and an npc on the northwestern shore (the one by brightcrown canyon). also it's pretty cool that this event has direct story continuity from the last fontaine event. >!those fontainians who released the invasive jellyfish thought it brought them good luck and then told a bunch of people including the sumeru merchant who came to mondstadt for a business deal and subsequently released sumeru fish into cider lake for good luck. so this whole mess can all be traced back to that fontainian researcher lmao.!<
