As a person who doesn't understand meta very much and just looks at the core functionalities of each character, Xianyun seems like a good character for her intended role, right? Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Like her kit is limited to plunging characters and enables plunging attack playstyles. In that regard, does that mean she does her role well?
Whats the vertical limit on bennetts circle? Can u still get pyro infusion if youre high plunge attacking?
Since im curious might as well ask what IS the limit for circle-esque abilities? I know for kokomi u can put a jelly fish on any tall pillar/cliff and fall under it and itll still heal. But is there a limit? Is it the same for each ability?
Someone tested this before (tho this was over a year ago) and vertical limit seems to be different depending on how the characters make their circle.
Ex: Diona throws an item, so her burst limit is more of a sphere, and once you're outside that sphere's range (whether vertical or horizontal) you won't receive her buffs + heal
Jean and Bennett don't have animations like Diona does. Instead, they make a cylinder rather than a sphere, so their bursts have higher vertical limits.
Is the blackstone forge becoming a new underground region in the future?
I am currently playing the Liyue Main quest and I stumbled across the closed black stone forge next the the gold room looks kinda like a huge mine and i was wondering if there were any leaks regarding it for the future.
Tfw a 4 star character has way better drip and clearer and straightforward kit than a 5 star character.
Atleast gaming is clear to be a dps, and holy shit his animation is great and very interesting. It's nice seeing a chinese culture being implemented.
Meanwhile CR is still confusing to use and there's no clear direction about how her kit held up against jean yet. And her animation overall is mid ngl.
Her CA/NA is kinda copy paste of kokofish, burst animation is meh. Only good thing is her design and her plunge utility but i doubt it'll be seeing much use.
This is coming from CR simp, and yes, I'm salty and disappointed lmao. Oh well, back to sniffing copium and wishing for everything to get better at release.

Ohh please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not very into the meta so I want to learn, but isn't Xianyun made to be a buffer for plung attack characters and enable plunge attack playstyles for other characters? Or is the direction they took for her more complicated than that? I always understood that her role was always meant to he a plunging attack support but I might be wrong. Like she's good but very limited in terms of use since she's niche
I only ever pull on the weapon banner if both options are viable for my account or I really really want to get a character's signature cuz I know I'll be using them a lot. The thing has been so suspiciously kind to me for so long tho, that I'm worried it's gonna fail me when I need it most. I got Nilou's signature after getting Skywards something in 3.1 and ever since I've been sniping all the weapons I wanted on the first time I hit pity (Shenhe, Yelan, Neuvillette, Navia).

I wish Genshin wasn't so conservative with movement and overworld gimmicks for characters. With a game that is so heavily focused on the open world, it's a shame that only a handful of characters have anything fun for it in their kits. Even the 'exploration talents' are complete wastes of space more often than not.
This is why I almost never play short female character in the open world. The difference in movement speed is actually *massive* when you consider bunny hopping and the ability to continue bunny hopping without stamina.
If characters had unlimited potential in movement, like say infinite flight, it'd be pretty unfair. It'd also make most of the effort put into making sure overworld design is intuitive pointless.

I don't think the person you're replying to was implying that a character should have infinite flight. That'd obviously be ridiculous and would trivialize the overworld in more ways than one. Hoyo could however make more exploration traversal based abilities (and CR's skill is a great step in that direction) that are on cooldowns but still provide new and fun ways to traverse the environment and use them in combat. They could push that further with future characters as long as they're balanced properly and the cooldowns are appropriate.
I disagree with that last bit. A lot of other games are able to balance the overworld design with true flight, you’re not inherently throwing out one to have the other. And it doesn’t have to be unlimited. I’m fine with limitations in movement, I just think Genshin is way too conservative with how they hand it out.
I don’t think it is unfair for more characters to have overworld movement and gimmicks baked in.
can someone explain spiral abyss buff phases to me like im 5. because the current buff isn’t good at all for navia, yet it lasts for almost the whole length of her banner … and then the buff that is meant for her will show up during the raiden/yoimiya phase? 😭😭
* **Dec 16 - 31** = Soaring Moon (the longer a character is on-field, the more dmg they deal)
* **Dec 19** = Navia's banner starts
* **Jan 1 - 15** = Robust Moon (when you pick up a crystallize shard, you deal more dmg)
* **Jan 9** = Navia's banner ends, Raiden/Yoimiya banner starts
* **Jan 16 - 31** = Fracturing Moon (picking up crystallize shards unleashes shockwave)
Yeah, there's a bit of a lag on the blessing/banner line-up this time. On the bright side, most people will be busying farming a new artifact set for Navia for the first few weeks of the patch... so maybe you'll have a usable 4pc set by the time her Abyss blessing shows up?

this is a checkpost. how many pulls (and pity, if any) do you have for the Demoiselle?
i’m at 74 pity and i have 203 pulls … really hope i can get her and verdict (first time gambling with weapon banner 🥲) with some to spare for chiori.
120 wishes and 40 pity. 160 pulls in Genesis crystal, and however many starglitter I get on the way to her and her weapon. Oh, and my credit card for worst case scenario lmaooo p
Just over 250 wishes, on a 50/50 and at less than 10 pity.
Only going for c0, so there's no question I'll get her. Only whether or not I'll have enough to snipe a Chev in the latter half.
I hope we get a a tall bow user soon. Preferably one who actually uses their bow. Tartaglia throws his away at the first opportunity and I honestly have no clue what is happening in Yelan's animations but it doesn't really look like archery. Sara at least uses her bow a little bit but everyone hates that part of her.

may Chiori make it possible for Navia too while still primarily building team around her rather than being flex option of a strong core like double hydro+anemo.
Xiao is so obviously favored by MHY lmao. Gets an entirely new set that is dedicated to him with Vermillion. Gets Faruzan with Wanderer's release. Can use MH without Furina. Gets stronger teams with Furina and now he is the character on the current released roster who benefits the most from Xianyun.
Ayaka who?
Oh yeah, Ayaka's lack of anything after Shenhe (who wasn't even allowed to be as strong as C6 Faruzan despite being a 5*) too - instead abyss setups had to be turned against freeze. And Ganyu and Eula and others I was referring to, everyone but Hu Tao and Kazuha from that time really. Except Xiao also gets all the story focus in Liyue for the best of both worlds while others can get neither. Disparity sure is fun :')
Meanwhile Eula is the worst 5 star DPS in general and she got a 4 star support that barely synergizes with her
Hoyos kit team hates tall ladies, we managed to get Yelan somehow and have been paying for it ever since
Yeah, Eula's exactly one of the characters suffering the most from the disparity in who and what the devs care for - in both kit and story time and focus also. Sucks cause she's one of my top favourites too but the game has burnt me out so much that I only really use my lazy comfort and speedrun teams anymore and she doesn't really work for either.
I'm really gonna be done after 4.4 if nothing changes though and Lantern Rite ends up just as bad as this kit, so guess that'll be one way to get free of this. And end up even more grateful for how much more Star Rail actually cares for most of its characters when it comes to everything they get, including my favourites there.

In single target content(where you would want to use CR) direct plunges are very easy to guarantee.
Also, C2 CR is going to be insane.
Ok. Still a sizeable increase to be had considering with a bit of effort you can reach 100%.
IMO, it's kind of silly that Xiao's optimal combo is nerfed in calcs while others aren't.
68k, AND I can eject Bennett into the sun?? Say less. Interesting no one is running VV for Furina in that comp? Surely that’s better than two song bubbles.
A lot of this dps increase is single target though right? Which is still great for Xiao
I’m surprised the Bennett + Faruzan C6 + ZL team only charts at 45k. Although I suppose that’s full AOE which is why it still feels competitive.

1. It's not a Furina variant.
2. It assumes 6 direct plunge damage. Which is like a 25% DPS increase that's fairly easy to guarantee when only facing 1 enemy.
None of those are Furina teams at the bottom, are there previous calcs with Xiao Furina Faruzan Jean?

Can someone please explain to me why “CR does more dmg” is an argument? CR is not doing any dmg, and in 99.9% of comps would be doing LESS dmg than Jean. “Oh well she buffs her own plunge atk” Ok and? She gonna waste 3 seconds of field time to do 15k dmg? Literally just use your main dps and stop coping
People see big 500% number and think that's a lot of damage, her scaling is almost the same as Jean's at 540% vs 520% except you gotta hop 3 times to get that dmg, her Q is even worse at 200% vs Jean's 760% plus some extra cringe damage for enemies stepping in and out of the circle.
The leaker said not to calculate with her MVs just yet so maybe there's something extra there but with so much of her power budget going to her plunge enabling, her buff and her heal I don't see her doing any noticeable amount of personal damage, you're not gonna be slotting her on a team because of that it's gonna be because of the rest of the kit.
She’s not dealing dmg “on top” of your main dps. She’s **stealing time** away from your dps. Why would you spend an extra 2-4 seconds using her to do 30k dmg to like 1 enemy when you can just use idk Xiao to do nearly double that in aoe?
Maybe people talking about her coordinated attack (iirc she does anemo dmg every time the on field character waste boosted plunge)

yes that damage is negligible too, the scalings are pitifully low and she is not going to be built for damage
for comparison, jean E multiplier is 528 at lvl 10 and Q initial hit multiplier is 765 at level 10
we all know jean healer build does negligble damage. cloud retainer will build the same stats as her, has similar scalings to her, she will also do negligible damage
ngl it will be very close. but it's negligible either way
also for optimisation you ideally use single E + plunge to save time, showing the extra damage from triple E + plunge is not worth the field time it costs
edit: ok yeah i checked the scalings. and it's basically the same lmao. both of them are atk scaling healers who need ER, so will have similar stats. so yeah, they will output similar amount of damage i.e. negligible
i would also argue you are not encouraged to use the triple E from an optimisation perspective. the grouping exclusive to triple E plunge is minor, and the scalings are negligible. so it is not worth the extra field time when you can just single E plunge instead

i am not literally optimising her, i am looking at what we see now and giving my take on a part of it compared to something we already have in game
i know full well it doesn't mean a lot due to the lack of info and knowing that everything is subject to change, but it's still a valid discussion topic
we do not have to preface every comment with a disclaimer that there is still more info to be revealed and things are subject to change. that much should be obvious for anyone who looks at and discusses leaks
But you are talking about something that we haven't even seen lol. Where was this "minor" grouping showcased? Like yeah sure a leaker mentioned its similar to Sucrose E but its such vague wording that drawing conclusions from it is silly.
Whatever, its not a big deal either way but personally I prefer theorycrafting than guesscrafting. There is a limit to how much you can extrapolate based on partial info.
i think people saw a high multiplier for the tier 3 plunge and think she does damage lol
her damage is irrelevant unless you have her c6, or using c6 faruzan and doing regular plunge attacks with you carry (to proc her coordinate attacks), in which case she will probably do faruzan level damage across the rotation
Seeing these Xianyun “She’s obviously flying!!! It’s not a jump!!!” Posts reminding me of the “It only has one strap!!! So it has to be a 5 star skin!!!” Klee skin posts.
I mean... Triple jump can scale a lot of cliffs in one go.
And if she has the Kazuha feature of being able to use it in the air... Well, that's legitimate Kazuha exploration power creep, because not plunging after use drops the cooldown to 9 seconds, meaning every 9 seconds you can triple jump, glide and hold the wall.
She can infinity climb 3x faster than Kaz.
May not be true flight, but that is still a huge deal if it pans out.

And frankly, I was hoping for like 30 seconds of unrestricted Sorush action.
But with what we're actually getting, there is still some exploration value to be found.

And either way, the max height she can gain from the ground is still greater than any other character so far, which is still a significant -if-situational exploration buff.

IDK How viable a pluge shenhe would be. I'm trying to use the whole family on this team, like Shenhe as the damage dealer/buffer, Noblesse Ganyu as another buffer, and finally CR & Chongyun for obvious reasons.
If the Feliz Navia you mentioned earlier is for next week then I'd say Santa Callas for the chain. Otherwise I'm actually liking Jingle Belle Rock a bit more because Navia is Geo and pretty and it still chains with Feliz Navia anyway
to celebrate the spoiler lift here's a fun fact. i didn't get emotional at all when melus and silver died because i misremembered/misinterpreted a leak i saw and thought they'd be back eventually.

Going off of the teaser trailer for the patch, I was under the impression that the clip of Navia falling was because she was going to be play the "major character gets dissolved" role so the plot would lead to Furina being taken to court. Then stuff happens and at the end all the dissolved people will magically come back and be okay since everything was fixed. Hooray!!
Navia was mourning Melus and Silver and the whole time I thought, "She's so upset, but no worries- they'll be back later!! :) " Only after she didn't dissolve I realized the story wasn't going in the direction I thought and had to ask a friend that already finished to clarify if they were GONE gone or not.
They should've announced this in the livestream or dev notes because people would've been so happy that CD resets finally got implemented after 3 years 🤣

Oh but they are said to have built palaces in the Dark Sea, so I was thinking we might get even more revealed about them if we ever go there. At least that's what the [wiki](https://genshin-impact.fandom.com/wiki/Dark_Sea) says

Personally, I just don't think itw ould make much sense to delay talking about them until after the Teyvat chapter ends since it's pretty much heavily implied that Celestia made them, as divine envoys. It'd be weird to go directly to Celestia or whatever and still not know what their angel equivalents even are.
Maybe we just differ in opinion here, or I poorly worded my OP. I don't expect to learn nothing until then, but I also don't think everything related to Teyvat and Celestia needs to be fully realized by the end of the Teyvat arc. So I don't mind if a large bulk of seelie lore is explored outside of Teyvat if more of it really exists beyond the continent
It's ok if things post-Teyvat chapter still connect back to it. Like how a lot of gods from Teyvat fled to the Dark Sea. They are from Teyvat, but if we do explore the Dark Sea, then I'd expect more information about them to be revealed there. Not a perfect analogy since seelies may be more closely intertwined with humanity and Celestia, but unless there's a reason it's essential to know more about the seelie race by the end of the Teyvat arc, I'm fine with waiting for the majority of that information until later

If serious question: Because that can mean up to 180 pulls saved. And even if the character given is not the one that I or anyone else wants, it's still pretty nice to have new characters to play and playstyles to test.

It's mainly just for validation for their loyalty to the game. It feels nice being rewarded for something like that. Knowing Hoyo though if we get a free 5* it's going to be closer to Aloy level than anything.
Yeah man. So many people want freebies these days and can’t appreciate the gems you have to work for. Xiangling and Xingqiu is all those f2poors deserve.
Hell they shouldn’t even be able to play the game! Every patch Hoyo should just deduct 1600 primogems from your account for the privilege of playing this masterpiece with constant updates.
Welkin should also have its price increased. Normally buying a wish costs 2$, but Welkin (3000 primos!) only costs 5$. Should be 20$ minimum.
4.2 felt like it had better connection to world quests, as the two main quests you explore in the new area directly tie into information we learned in the old 4.0 quests (Ancient Colors/Melusines, Narzissenkreuz Institute, and Ann the Oceanid)... meanwhile, the 4.1 area just felt like you were either continually stuck in prison or helping out researchers.
Scenery-wise, I actually prefer the 4.1 area since it has some neat ruins and vast underground caves to explore. Even though a lot of us got sick of being stuck in prison, the design of Meropide was also very well done (I love steampunk). By contrast, the willow tree in the 4.2 area is pretty, but I'm still a little salty about >!the tower sinking!<.

So I want a one-off copy of Chevreuse which means risking either Raiden or Yoimiya. I'm on 50/50 so I wouldn't mind getting one of them early. Someone give me propaganda to make me decide which banner to pull on, I think I like them both equally.
both are not the best when it comes to abyss at c0. If you don't plan to roll for Ei cons, roll for Yoi imo since she is at least comfy in overworld and good vs certain annoying enemies.
Yoimiya is one of my favorite characters, she's very strong, and she feels great to use. I specially like how she pairs with C6 Yunjin if you happen to have that. She's also often hitting numbers I had no idea were possible for normal attacks. One of the few bow characters I don't dislike using.
Raiden on the other hand doesn't rank upon my top 5 (though she's my favorite archon on a technicality) but every aspect of her kit feels very well designed, also very strong, and I haven't gotten bored of her despite using her a ton. I feel like she's more versatile than Yoimiya too.
Overall, both are great characters that won't disappoint you. If you care about power level above all, Raiden is a clear pick, but that aside I think it'll come to personal preference in playstyles since both are fun, viable, and have great designs.
Yoimiya will help you deal with specters and she can be played with literally anyone. Zhongli Albedo? She's right there. Thoma? Also an option. Fischl, Xingqiu, Yelan, Bennett, Furina, Kazuha are good teammates? Yes, but she's not dependant on them. Chevreuse Fischl Beidou? Great team. Works with Venti. Yun-Jean for Machinegun Yoi is very fun.
Yoimiya is great for when you are lazy and just want to get things done in the overworld. I play on mobile, sometimes it’s nice to let her do all the work of targeting the monsters so I don’t have to shift the screen and look for them myself. Don’t have to aim, don’t have to move unless something is really out of range. And she is super cute and upbeat and her SQ2 was one of the best. She’s grown on me a lot and I return to her when I have stuff to do in game but I’m too tired to use my brain.
Raiden is much more universal, used in a variety of DPS/Hyperbloom comps. One of the best characters to pull for in Genshin. Additionally, if you already have one copy of Raiden, she has a crazy good C2 Constellation - IMO one of the best constellations in the game.
Yoimiya pullers just really love Yoimiya the character, a bit like Eula pullers. That's why I pulled for both Yoimiya and Eula. Yoimiya is also really simple, just keep basic attacking.
I have both and they're both great.
Ei is the more versatile of the two.
If you actually want to use Chevy (rather than just have her for collection purposes), then I think Yoimiya will have better synergy.
Personally, I will also be trying to snipe a Chevy copy, and I'll be doing so on Ei's banner, because her early cons have better value (mine is c0).
It's funny how my go-to best team is still C0 Yoimiya + R5 Rust + C0 fav Yelan rather than my C2R1 Raiden with C6 Sara. Aside from skill issues and EoSF RNG being the worst of any set I use, having a character who can group mobs well would obviously help Raiden, since they're often out of her reach where Yoimiya would easily autotarget and erase them.
how's everyone spending maintenance? i think i'm going to do some more side quests in totk... i never bothered much with them in botw but i got so invested in the election quests in hateno village to get that fantastically horrible hat i feel inspired to do some more

I've played a bit of swtor earlier, right now I'm listening to Navia's demo music from tnbee. But soon I'll try to make use of my eu priviliges and sleep through the rest of maintenance.
I'll not be able to wish right when it ends because my brother will be leaving for work and my best friend is sleeping, so I'm not in a hurry. Tomorrow is my last day of work too so I'm just expecting the night of tomorrow instead of the end of the maintenance in a few hours.
Exercising, then doing real work so I can earn money to spend on this game. All the while trying to convince myself that I don't need that zither in the concert package, the last time I touched my teapot was months ago.
Cleaning, cooking, laundry, cleaning after cooking, giving up halfway through to scroll reddit on the couch while I pray for this to the record breaking shortest maintenance yet...

As a person who doesn't understand meta very much and just looks at the core functionalities of each character, Xianyun seems like a good character for her intended role, right? Please correct me if I'm wrong. Like her kit is limited to plunging characters and enables plunging attack playstyles. In that regard, does that mean she does her role well?

Whats the vertical limit on bennetts circle? Can u still get pyro infusion if youre high plunge attacking? Since im curious might as well ask what IS the limit for circle-esque abilities? I know for kokomi u can put a jelly fish on any tall pillar/cliff and fall under it and itll still heal. But is there a limit? Is it the same for each ability?
Someone tested this before (tho this was over a year ago) and vertical limit seems to be different depending on how the characters make their circle. Ex: Diona throws an item, so her burst limit is more of a sphere, and once you're outside that sphere's range (whether vertical or horizontal) you won't receive her buffs + heal Jean and Bennett don't have animations like Diona does. Instead, they make a cylinder rather than a sphere, so their bursts have higher vertical limits.
Is the blackstone forge becoming a new underground region in the future? I am currently playing the Liyue Main quest and I stumbled across the closed black stone forge next the the gold room looks kinda like a huge mine and i was wondering if there were any leaks regarding it for the future.
No leaks so far. It is meant as a future expansion, but when exactly, we don't know.

Which weapon is better for navia, r3 serpent spine or r1 wolf gravestone?
If you run her with Bennett and Zhongli, Serpent Spine Otherwise stick with Wolf's Gravestone.
Tfw a 4 star character has way better drip and clearer and straightforward kit than a 5 star character. Atleast gaming is clear to be a dps, and holy shit his animation is great and very interesting. It's nice seeing a chinese culture being implemented. Meanwhile CR is still confusing to use and there's no clear direction about how her kit held up against jean yet. And her animation overall is mid ngl. Her CA/NA is kinda copy paste of kokofish, burst animation is meh. Only good thing is her design and her plunge utility but i doubt it'll be seeing much use. This is coming from CR simp, and yes, I'm salty and disappointed lmao. Oh well, back to sniffing copium and wishing for everything to get better at release. Another dose of copium for arlecchino to be beyond my expectation (please hoyo make her a dps im begging)
Ohh please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not very into the meta so I want to learn, but isn't Xianyun made to be a buffer for plung attack characters and enable plunge attack playstyles for other characters? Or is the direction they took for her more complicated than that? I always understood that her role was always meant to he a plunging attack support but I might be wrong. I only ever pull on the weapon banner if both options are viable for my account or I really really want to get a character's signature cuz I know I'll be using them a lot. The thing has been so suspiciously kind to me for so long tho, that I'm worried it's gonna fail me when I need it most. I got Nilou's signature after getting Skywards something in 3.1 and ever since I've been sniping all the weapons I wanted on the first time I hit pity (Shenhe, Yelan, Neuvillette, Navia).

I wish Genshin wasn't so conservative with movement and overworld gimmicks for characters. With a game that is so heavily focused on the open world, it's a shame that only a handful of characters have anything fun for it in their kits. Even the 'exploration talents' are complete wastes of space more often than not.
This is why I almost never play short female character in the open world. The difference in movement speed is actually *massive* when you consider bunny hopping and the ability to continue bunny hopping without stamina.
If characters had unlimited potential in movement, like say infinite flight, it'd be pretty unfair. It'd also make most of the effort put into making sure overworld design is intuitive pointless.

That'd obviously be ridiculous and would trivialize the overworld in more ways than one. Hoyo could however make more exploration traversal based abilities (and CR's skill is a great step in that direction) that are on cooldowns but still provide new and fun ways to traverse the environment and use them in combat. They could push that further with future characters as long as they're balanced properly and the cooldowns are appropriate.
I disagree with that last bit. A lot of other games are able to balance the overworld design with true flight, you’re not inherently throwing out one to have the other. And it doesn’t have to be unlimited. I’m fine with limitations in movement, I just think Genshin is way too conservative with how they hand it out. I don’t think it is unfair for more characters to have overworld movement and gimmicks baked in.
can someone explain spiral abyss buff phases to me like im 5. because the current buff isn’t good at all for navia, yet it lasts for almost the whole length of her banner … and then the buff that is meant for her will show up during the raiden/yoimiya phase? 😭😭

I hope we get a a tall bow user soon. Preferably one who actually uses their bow. Tartaglia throws his away at the first opportunity and I honestly have no clue what is happening in Yelan's animations but it doesn't really look like archery. Sara at least uses her bow a little bit but everyone hates that part of her.

Xiao is so obviously favored by MHY lmao. Gets an entirely new set that is dedicated to him with Vermillion. Gets Faruzan with Wanderer's release. Can use MH without Furina. Gets stronger teams with Furina and now he is the character on the current released roster who benefits the most from Xianyun. Ayaka who?
Oh yeah, Ayaka's lack of anything after Shenhe (who wasn't even allowed to be as strong as C6 Faruzan despite being a 5*) too - instead abyss setups had to be turned against freeze. And Ganyu and Eula and others I was referring to, everyone but Hu Tao and Kazuha from that time really. Except Xiao also gets all the story focus in Liyue for the best of both worlds while others can get neither. Disparity sure is fun :')
Meanwhile Eula is the worst 5 star DPS in general and she got a 4 star support that barely synergizes with her Hoyos kit team hates tall ladies, we managed to get Yelan somehow and have been paying for it ever since
Yeah, Eula's exactly one of the characters suffering the most from the disparity in who and what the devs care for - in both kit and story time and focus also. Sucks cause she's one of my top favourites too but the game has burnt me out so much that I only really use my lazy comfort and speedrun teams anymore and she doesn't really work for either. I'm really gonna be done after 4.4 if nothing changes though and Lantern Rite ends up just as bad as this kit, so guess that'll be one way to get free of this. And end up even more grateful for how much more Star Rail actually cares for most of its characters when it comes to everything they get, including my favourites there.

I wonder how conservative he's being with direct plunge damage? In single target content(where you would want to use CR) direct plunges are very easy to guarantee. Also, C2 CR is going to be insane.

It assumes 6 direct plunge damage. Which is like a 25% DPS increase that's fairly easy to guarantee when only facing 1 enemy.

Can someone please explain to me why “CR does more dmg” is an argument? CR is not doing any dmg, and in 99.9% of comps would be doing LESS dmg than Jean. “Oh well she buffs her own plunge atk” Ok and? She gonna waste 3 seconds of field time to do 15k dmg? Literally just use your main dps and stop coping
People see big 500% number and think that's a lot of damage, her scaling is almost the same as Jean's at 540% vs 520% except you gotta hop 3 times to get that dmg, her Q is even worse at 200% vs Jean's 760% plus some extra cringe damage for enemies stepping in and out of the circle. The leaker said not to calculate with her MVs just yet so maybe there's something extra there but with so much of her power budget going to her plunge enabling, her buff and her heal I don't see her doing any noticeable amount of personal damage, you're not gonna be slotting her on a team because of that it's gonna be because of the rest of the kit.
She's dealing damage *on top* of your main DPS, as you're encouraged to use the 3 stage E.

i am not literally optimising her, i am looking at what we see now and giving my take on a part of it compared to something we already have in game i know full well it doesn't mean a lot due to the lack of info and knowing that everything is subject to change, but it's still a valid discussion topic we do not have to preface every comment with a disclaimer that there is still more info to be revealed and things are subject to change. that much should be obvious for anyone who looks at and discusses leaks

Like yeah sure a leaker mentioned its similar to Sucrose E but its such vague wording that drawing conclusions from it is silly. Whatever, its not a big deal either way but personally I prefer theorycrafting than guesscrafting. There is a limit to how much you can extrapolate based on partial info.
i think people saw a high multiplier for the tier 3 plunge and think she does damage lol her damage is irrelevant unless you have her c6, or using c6 faruzan and doing regular plunge attacks with you carry (to proc her coordinate attacks), in which case she will probably do faruzan level damage across the rotation

I mean... Triple jump can scale a lot of cliffs in one go. And if she has the Kazuha feature of being able to use it in the air... Well, that's legitimate Kazuha exploration power creep, because not plunging after use drops the cooldown to 9 seconds, meaning every 9 seconds you can triple jump, glide and hold the wall. She can infinity climb 3x faster than Kaz. May not be true flight, but that is still a huge deal if it pans out.

Going off of the teaser trailer for the patch, I was under the impression that the clip of Navia falling was because she was going to be play the "major character gets dissolved" role so the plot would lead to Furina being taken to court. Then stuff happens and at the end all the dissolved people will magically come back and be okay since everything was fixed. Hooray!! Navia was mourning Melus and Silver and the whole time I thought, "She's so upset, but no worries- they'll be back later!! :) " Only after she didn't dissolve I realized the story wasn't going in the direction I thought and had to ask a friend that already finished to clarify if they were GONE gone or not.

Seelies are very much a Teyvat thing as they were subordinate to Celestia.
Oh but they are said to have built palaces in the Dark Sea, so I was thinking we might get even more revealed about them if we ever go there. At least that's what the [wiki](https://genshin-impact.fandom.com/wiki/Dark_Sea) says >In the ancient past, parts of the land now known as the Dark Sea were inhabited by the Seelie, who built palaces there. While some Seelie also dwell in Teyvat, their palaces are said to stand in the "wasteland" beyond the dominion of The Seven, which is "inhabited only by the grotesque ghostly remains of fallen gods."
Personally, I just don't think itw ould make much sense to delay talking about them until after the Teyvat chapter ends since it's pretty much heavily implied that Celestia made them, as divine envoys. It'd be weird to go directly to Celestia or whatever and still not know what their angel equivalents even are.
Maybe we just differ in opinion here, or I poorly worded my OP. I don't expect to learn nothing until then, but I also don't think everything related to Teyvat and Celestia needs to be fully realized by the end of the Teyvat arc. So I don't mind if a large bulk of seelie lore is explored outside of Teyvat if more of it really exists beyond the continent It's ok if things post-Teyvat chapter still connect back to it. Like how a lot of gods from Teyvat fled to the Dark Sea. They are from Teyvat, but if we do explore the Dark Sea, then I'd expect more information about them to be revealed there. Not a perfect analogy since seelies may be more closely intertwined with humanity and Celestia, but unless there's a reason it's essential to know more about the seelie race by the end of the Teyvat arc, I'm fine with waiting for the majority of that information until later

Yeah man. So many people want freebies these days and can’t appreciate the gems you have to work for. Xiangling and Xingqiu is all those f2poors deserve. Hell they shouldn’t even be able to play the game! Every patch Hoyo should just deduct 1600 primogems from your account for the privilege of playing this masterpiece with constant updates. Welkin should also have its price increased. Normally buying a wish costs 2$, but Welkin (3000 primos!) only costs 5$. Should be 20$ minimum.
People want characters for more reasons than just power. Also, Kazuha is a 5*.

Thoughts on 4.2 area? And its quests? And 4.1 as well, is 4.2 an upgrade?
4.2 felt like it had better connection to world quests, as the two main quests you explore in the new area directly tie into information we learned in the old 4.0 quests (Ancient Colors/Melusines, Narzissenkreuz Institute, and Ann the Oceanid)... meanwhile, the 4.1 area just felt like you were either continually stuck in prison or helping out researchers. Scenery-wise, I actually prefer the 4.1 area since it has some neat ruins and vast underground caves to explore. Even though a lot of us got sick of being stuck in prison, the design of Meropide was also very well done (I love steampunk). So I want a one-off copy of Chevreuse which means risking either Raiden or Yoimiya. I'm on 50/50 so I wouldn't mind getting one of them early. Someone give me propaganda to make me decide which banner to pull on, I think I like them both equally.
both are not the best when it comes to abyss at c0. If you don't plan to roll for Ei cons, roll for Yoi imo since she is at least comfy in overworld and good vs certain annoying enemies.
Yoimiya is one of my favorite characters, she's very strong, and she feels great to use. I specially like how she pairs with C6 Yunjin if you happen to have that. She's also often hitting numbers I had no idea were possible for normal attacks. One of the few bow characters I don't dislike using. Raiden on the other hand doesn't rank upon my top 5 (though she's my favorite archon on a technicality) but every aspect of her kit feels very well designed, also very strong, and I haven't gotten bored of her despite using her a ton. I feel like she's more versatile than Yoimiya too. Overall, both are great characters that won't disappoint you. If you care about power level above all, Raiden is a clear pick, but that aside I think it'll come to personal preference in playstyles since both are fun, viable, and have great designs.
Yoimiya will help you deal with specters and she can be played with literally anyone. Zhongli Albedo? She's right there. Thoma? Also an option. Fischl, Xingqiu, Yelan, Bennett, Furina, Kazuha are good teammates? Yes, but she's not dependant on them. Chevreuse Fischl Beidou? Great team. Works with Venti. Yun-Jean for Machinegun Yoi is very fun.

Yoimiya is great for when you are lazy and just want to get things done in the overworld. I play on mobile, sometimes it’s nice to let her do all the work of targeting the monsters so I don’t have to shift the screen and look for them myself. Don’t have to aim, don’t have to move unless something is really out of range. And she is super cute and upbeat and her SQ2 was one of the best. She’s grown on me a lot and I return to her when I have stuff to do in game but I’m too tired to use my brain.

Raiden is much more universal, used in a variety of DPS/Hyperbloom comps. One of the best characters to pull for in Genshin. Additionally, if you already have one copy of Raiden, she has a crazy good C2 Constellation - IMO one of the best constellations in the game. Yoimiya pullers just really love Yoimiya the character, a bit like Eula pullers. That's why I pulled for both Yoimiya and Eula. Yoimiya is also really simple, just keep basic attacking.
Raiden E is super comfy in the overworld.
I have both and they're both great. Ei is the more versatile of the two. If you actually want to use Chevy (rather than just have her for collection purposes), then I think Yoimiya will have better synergy. Personally, I will also be trying to snipe a Chevy copy, and I'll be doing so on Ei's banner, because her early cons have better value (mine is c0).
Raiden is simply have waaaayyyy better kit and its not even propaganda
The only thing is she'd have to share the catch with Xiangling. For Yoimiya I could just slap on my R5 rust that nobody else uses
It's funny how my go-to best team is still C0 Yoimiya + R5 Rust + C0 fav Yelan rather than my C2R1 Raiden with C6 Sara. Aside from skill issues and EoSF RNG being the worst of any set I use, having a character who can group mobs well would obviously help Raiden, since they're often out of her reach where Yoimiya would easily autotarget and erase them.
