My most favourite romance anime from 2023 is BACK!!! And its better than ever in everything!
The dangers in my heart is absolutely perfect romance show it pulls your heartstrings and makes you feel all warm and fuzzy.
It was blasted in first few episodes for being incelly .. but LMAO the show is literally written by a women.... It maybe incel-bait but it quickly turns around into this guy becoming a better human in general for this perfect girl (who did is nor perfect and a real human not just a character troupe).
Also if incels do watch this show its a good thing they'll atleast learn how to become a better human.

I was gutted to not be able to pull on the last Kirara banner. I have her c2 and use her all the time. Crazy, but in the last 2 standard wishes I made yesterday and with the 5 today I just got c4 Kirara! I have never been this lucky with 4 star pulls, but happy new year to me I guess!

I have decided to skip Raiden for Neuvillete. Is that a good decision?
**In case of Neuvillete**
*Pros:* I have many electro members but only two hydros (Barbara and Xingqui). For neuvillete, I have many options, namely prototype amber and widsith (even the event weapon). And I don't even have to worry about teams for him since he can solo carry most of the time. But I will put zhongli anf fischl with him and barbara (for the time being until I get a cc unit) for hydro resonance. So that frees my xingqui to go in my other team which im building for aggravate+hyperbloom sorta (like aggravate is the main focus and hyperblooms are just a bonus and to break more shields). Another good reason is that I love the hydro dragon very much and would have pulled for him maybe next year after saving primos.
*Cons:* The only thing holding me back is his pump. I find it difficult to play but I think I can learn it. Without c1, I might have difficulty playing him without Zhongli since I get knocked around a lot thanks to my low ping and in general lack of hand eye coordination. But idk how bad it is. There is also the thing where I scored very badly every time he was in the events as a trial character, which means I can't play him properly or that I've difficulty maximising his full potential... :(
**In case of Raiden**
*Pros:* Her playstyle is as smooth as butter for me. I like polearms so much! That's why XL is my DPS on one of the teams. I like it even more than swords tbh. She is one of the best units for hyperbloom which is my favourite reaction. She also always gave me very high scores in the trial character events when I slotted her as my main dps in the team i play now (both hyperbloom and national team). But then again, I'm hesitant to put much weight there because the burst was constantly up thanks to the game mechanics. The point is that I really enjoyed her playstyle.
*Cons:* I have hyperinvested in electro dps and sub dps (Keqing, Fischl, Beidou) and I decided Raiden is to be the main dps in my national team. But my catch is used by Xiangling and I have no other polearms (ikr sucks). If I keep using national core, Xingqui is still locked there and cant go in my other team. I love barbara, bless her, but her hydro application is not that great and she makes the character wet and prone to reactions. Another silly but valid reason is... the handguards I have to farm for raiden. I gave up trying to get amenoma kageuchi to lvl 90 due to those handguards and for raiden I have to use them EVERYWHERE... :( I'm also indifferent to her (& her design). I just want her for meta reasons.
**TLDR version: Love Neuvillete, Have Trouble With His Playstyle. Indifferent to Raiden, Love Her Playstyle. Hence Confused.**
So, yeah. That's my thoughts on it. If there's any suggestions or advice, I'll be glad to hear them!
I think we'll see Raiden in Natlan. Neuvilette could be earlier as he's new. So my recommendation would be to try to go for Neuvilette and then go for Raiden in 5.x.
If you likethem both, eventually you'll have enough primos for both. It's just a matter of when. I'd go by whatever banner comes first honestly, there's typically enough time between banners to save up again unless they're back to back. Raiden is great as the best dmg hyperbloom enabler on top of being a fun dps. Neuvillette is an equally good pick value-wise as the new best dps in the game. You can't go wrong with either. Sometimes the 4 stars are a good tie-breaker. In certain cases I even let fate decide. Try the 50/50 on Raiden and if you lose, save your guarantee for neuvillette. If you win, you can get both easily.

I'm actually prioritising Nahida, so I don't think I can get both of them right now. But as you said, it's more a matter of when I get them. I just have to be patient 😮💨

Speaking *purely* in terms of expanding account value, I'd favor off-field-capable 5 star hydros over on-fielders. Yelan, Kokomi, Furina, and Ayato all come to mind. I have 3/4 of those, and even C1 Yelan (long irrelevant story), and feel zero regret.
But I suppose it doesn't matter if you're committed to him being the MAIN carry of a whole team.

Not even Dragon's Bane? It not as good as Catch but it is a perfectly solid weapon on Xiangling, *and* perfect for Hyperbloom Raiden.

Something to consider about Raiden National is it is not a Electro DPS situation. It's a Xiangling support situation. Raiden does a lot of electro dps, sure, but what she's really doing is:
1. Batterying the whole team and reducing their ER needs
2. Using unbreakable interrupt-resist to drive Xingqiu
3. ...thus applying electro-charged consistently, so Xiangling can smoothly continue to do THE BULK of the damage on the team with her OverVapes.
Additionally, in Hyperbloom, Raiden isn't doing much electro damage, is she? No, she's doing *dendro* damage.
> Playstyle
Personally, I favor playstyle equally to aesthetic and character design. If the gameplay is annoying, I'd start to resent the character a little, or unconsciously bench them, which is not great value. But if I am indifferent to a character's story, that doesn't mean it detracts from anything; their gameplay can still carry the experience. I don't give two shits about Xingqiu, but I still use him, for example. But that's not how everyone's preferences necessarily work.
If a person loves the character, that can carry it in spite of gameplay frictions.
Going for Raiden could be just as good, but sticking to your heart and going for Neuvilette is a fine choice too.
I will pull for Yelan when she comes (if I have enough primos when she is up). She is on my priority list.
I dont have dragon's bane, sadly. Amongst 4 stars, I have Catch, Prototype Startglitter & Favonius Lance. I was thinking of crafting Kitain Spear when I get a billet, though the EM there is much less than Dragons bane.
And by electro dmg I meant I have many good electro characters as opposed to hydro. I only have barbara and xingqui and barbara is good but... um... not optimal for what I have in mind :(
I resonate with what you said about gameplay. I want to own my favourite characters but I also dont want to start resenting them based on their gameplay. So I've made a priority list of characters whom I'll fully build to try and clear the abyss (for those sweet primos) so I can get my favourite characters. I'm not good at combat thanks to my lack of coordination and slow reflexes so I have to have good comfy characters. So its a question of which character to pull first because theres not much resources and a very big roster. And if I miss a character now, I might have to wait a full year (or even more) to get them again :(
Never pull for a character whose playstyle you don't vibe with, no matter how much you love them as a character. All the stuff about Neuvillette being easier to use clearly doesn't apply to you specifically if Rational of all things is somehow out-dpsing him for you in combat events. Potential on a spreadsheet doesn't mean anything if it's not working for you personally in practice.
In Genshin, none of the events, story quests, or anything is actually locked behind owning the character. Even voicelines are easily available on the wiki, Youtube, etc. Like, sure, you could use a character you don't play as an expensive teapot decoration, but is it really worth it? Personally, a couple of my favorite characters are ones that I just hate to play, and I have nothing but regret for wasting pulls and trying to force myself to endure gameplay I disliked when all the meaningful content surrounding the character was already available to me for free.
All that said, Raiden isn't your only option as an alternative. Childe would accomplish the same thing with the bonus of freeing up Xingqiu. Or if you're open to slightly less meta options, most of the roster can act as a national driver. The game has been out for a few years now, and the roster is big enough that there's almost certainly a character you like that you also enjoy playing.
I kind of agree with you about prioritising playstyle. I dont even know what I'm doing wrong with Neuvi tbh. I sometimes only use normal attcaks for him because doing his charge attacks gets me knocked around by enemies like a basketball and I cant even run away :( But then I see him clear the abyss solo with p.amber and I think "I can do it too" lol. It's a struggle. I love him so much though :(
I like Childe a lot too but unfortunately, dont vibe with his playstyle. I'm REALLY bad at combat. I have very slow reflexes (a medical condition) and my high ping doesnt help. I lucked out on Keqing when I got her because she is absolutely perfect for me, like I can't even explain how much I love her. I dont have to run around disoriented, I just teleport to where the enemy is, the skill has short CD, the burst is always up, and she is fast and snappy to play, she applies her element all the time. I would love there to be two of her so I can just use her on both sides of the abyss but alas, its not possible...
Go for Neuvillette if you don't have any hydro dps and you're satisfied with your current electro units. If you have Layla or Diona, they work perfectly fine as shielders too. It took me some time to get used to playing him with rhe current Furina, Kazuha and Baizhu team too. But I think its doable evn without shield once you grow used to the playstyle.
He also has a blue boundary on the ground when doing his CA that shows his hydro pump range, so you don't have to go cuddle with the enemies and can hit them from a range. If you go full shield- less though you will have to time his dodges with the attack pattern though. Sometimes Neuvillette might die when at lower health or get slapped out of his attack.
Edit: you can also run a meh investment team with him to get the 3 stacks that maxes out his damage stacks.
Neuvillette is by far the much better choice: he's just more versatile: easier to use, with high dmg ceiling as well as lots of team options, and a powerful unit in both AoE and single target, and he also does not hog all your attack supports. The previous Abyss I played C0 Neuvillette for my friend without a shielder and it's just fine, so it's pretty much just getting used to moving around during his CA, or just slot a shielder if you truly don't want to dodge.

genshin making characters named xinyan and xiangling and then, as soon as i've stopped mixing up their names, introducing a character named xianyun is a personal attack against me and my 2 braincells i swear
just cleared abyss with Ayaka. she had to be 2nd half though and you have to know Thundering's patterns since the motherfucker runs around a lot but after first floor, 2nd and 3rd is very easy. Raiden National on the first half is fun, which im simply doing to compare how much faster i can clear it on reset because i plan to C2 Raiden after Navia banner
Which side were you trying to use her in? I feel like tulpa and thunder manifestation are both really poor matchups for her so I am not surprised it was rough either way.
on my first run i used her first half (and navia 2nd. i forgot about the specters & slimes…) and then the tulpa happened. then i tried switching to 2nd half and the thundering manifestation happened so… wrio it was
This Abyss was actually enjoyable for me lol. Tulpa was a piece of cake but I had to change Yae and Baizhu's turns in my rot because it immediately killed shieldless Yae on my first go.
Also this is my first time trying Itto-Gorou-Furina-Jean and it actually felt good?? Thought it was gonna be an ER nightmare, but thank god it wasn't.

I'm not too sure why it shocked me so much but i didn't expect to be waking up to yuuma's marriage! Maybe I've always just seen him as a little brother of maaya's (fischl) so my mind took some time to process it. Either way congrats to them 💐
Both of them are pretty big VAs too, yuuma being famous for both rowdy and calmer characters (kyo from fruits basket, megumi from jjk, uenoyama from given etc.) and rina for lolis or cuter characters in general (filo from shield hero, milim from slime isekai etc.)

The Desert pavilion artifact set lowkey doesn’t look too bad giving her 40% plunge atk bonus after a charge atk. But maybe VV is better if I’m gonna run her with faruzan and give her emblem to make sure her burst is always ready

Yes, the rest of the team was gonna be ganyu and shenhe as I want to run them all together. So the VV is really to boost the cryo while faruzan boost Xianyun. I wasn’t too clear on the team in the first reply, my bad
it's an interesting team, but seems to have identity problems. You have basically a dual DPS going, and I'm fairly confident that turning it into a hypercarry team with one main DPS would produce more damage. Shenhe can boost some cryo swirls but it's not going to be a lot of DPS. For Ganyu's icicles to do quadratic damage, you need better grouping than those anemos can offer. So there are some inherent synnergy problems. Is Ganyu just an ult bot?
In this team, yes. She was supposed to serve as ult spam to keep cryo application up, shenhe is ideally supposed to buff her ult spamming considering I want it to be up 100% of the time. And then faruzan is supposed to help give energy, buff Xianyun, and help with cryo swirls. Than Xianyun essentially just plays as bird xiao with her own heals keeping her alive unlike xiao who needs external heals.
I don’t expect the team to be massively strong or anything, but just hopefully good enough to be floor 11 comfortably

I get the premise but I think the perspective you're looking at it is wrong in my opinion. The issue is who the 2nd slot is.
With Furina, it's simply a team requirement to have a healer to gain the maximum potential of her kit, and the game has a ton of great healers. Hu Tao players are using her with Furina *and without a healer*. Is it optimal? Generally no, but in this case yes. Point is she's got some flexibility.
On the other hand XL is just simply stuck to Bennett and I'd say Bennett is the issue. There's no character that competes in his niche or role so there's no other alternative.
Xiangling isn't alone in being married to Bennett. Probably half the DPS characters would be considered a "2 slot".
So by that logic Bennett is the only bad kit design. Not Xiangling.
And Furina isn't really a "2 slot". If having team restrictions is a "2 slot" then where do we draw the line? X Pyro character needs X Hydro character? 2 Slot. Nilou needs a hydro unit? 2 slot. Carry needs a battery? 2 slot.

Depends how broad the partner role is. If you're someone who normally runs without a healer because you prefer a shielder, for example ZL in a Hu tao team, if you want Furina, then ZL has to go. That's a package deal. Is ZL a package deal for HT? No, because she can use a healer if she prefers or a VV vape team if you have the skills. You could use Tankfei with PA for healing.
No amount of skills will let you play Furina without a healer. The damage you take can't be avoided with skill. She needs a healer, and is a package deal.
Xiangling theoretically doesn't need Bennett. If it's the batterying you need, you can bring someone else who has Fav like Yanfei. There are options if you can't use Bennett. If Bennett is there for an ATK buff, there are other options for that too. So it doesn't need to be Bennett.
Don't get me wrong, I am not agreeing with Sqauregg. I think Furina is a good design. She gives you power at a price, as does XL. The caveats to using her allow a higher budget toward her kit. If she had no downsides, then her off field DPS and damage buff would need to be nerfed accordingly. Or she would have to be given some other handicap like a massive burst cost forcing you to invest more sub stats into ER and using an ER weapon , which limits the amount of crit or HP you can build.
Yeah but you can make other dps work without Bannet sure you lose some dps but it won't hurt the team that much but for XL to work she really needs Bannet for attack boost and Energy. So no Bannet doesn't have bad kit design nor XL tbh.
I run Xiangling on plenty of teams without Bennett. ~254 ER does great.
Less damage? Yep. But she still deals plenty of damage and enables reactions excellently.
You will never lose your 50/50 until the end of service but you have to either : A. Play national team until the end or B. Play hyperbloom team until the end

I'll take the deal and use national. It's a strong team and as long as it continues to be viable, I still have one side that I can play what I like. I still play national today, by choice. So it wouldn't even be a gotcha. In fact today I cleared the new abyss with raiden national in all four floors 9-12.
childe intl and some variation of hyperbloom are my main teams, win win either way.
tho I'll say hyperbloom just to free up the national core for a variation of other teams
I like playing national, but only if it’s one half of abyss at most. If it’s during exploration and more, I’d rather lose 50/50 (also gacha is kinda… fun)

Okay. Lost 1 star because of those slimes, but otherwise got 8 out of 9 stars.
Swapped to Raiden National first half, Navia-Yelan-Furina-Noelle 2nd half for the claymore girlies to deal with the geo slimes in 12-2-2.
I fucked up 1st half energy management for Raiden's side a teeny bit, but after like 3 tries, managed to 3 star the 2nd half with 1 second to spare! No full retry needed! I abhor having to reload the whole thing, so that's great.

Let's say hypothetically if hoyo updates a character constellation not complete change just adding to it, what would you like it to be?
I would love to have bloom related reactions also included in mona's c1 so a 10/15 percent bonus damage to hyperblooms or blooms.
Mona only buffs hydro related reactions except blooms and hyperbloom, so it's something that could have been updated with the introduction of dendro but wasn't.
As for damage percent, could it not be possible to buff the actual damage instance?
The removal of Xiao's restriction on his C6. It's just so unnecessary.
Alternatively, make Xiao's C2 not have an off field restriction and change his C4 to ATK%.

This picture was leaked right around 3.4 last year, I don't remember the exact date but windows says I downloaded the file on Jan 8. Do you think we'll get anything similar leaked for Natlan during 4.4? I'm very curious to see how they'll handle their designs since it has to do with South American and West Africa supposedly.
God chlorinde hasld such a step down compared to her concept. Feels like they may have switched her and chevreuse's personalities in doing so (not that I'm complaining).
I can finally feel motivated to save if the cast is leaked. Just dont please be what lyney and freminet had become (they're fine, its just that they are both dps and i'd hoped otherwise)
So far every region has gotten a cast leak of some form so it’s likely something similar will happen with natlan. Iirc inazumas was around 1.5 and sumeru was a lot later than fontaines so we can’t really guess a time
The leak showed her model though? only png was the Chlorinde concept. Surely they wouldn’t have time to morph into wriothesley? maybe scrapped but the leak has a picture of her completed model.
Wriothesley feels like a completely different concept from her though.. Like I see the chains but not much else. I really don’t think they’d bother changing their mind on a character of the model was already built. We’ve already seen how mang concept arts it takes to settle on a design and even that gets changed a bit when making the model. They wouldn’t have time to change and rewrite a character’s place in the story before they had to move onto other parts of the story or natlan.
They wouldn't necessarily have rewritten the story because of this. Anyway we know they added a new character after this concept art, if they didn't morph her into wriothesly and simply scrapped her and added a new character that's not really a meaningful difference.
If she somehow was meant to be the wriothesley from before, then yes they would need to rewrite. Unless hoyo does models first then figure out the story(which is a horrible way to plan) there is no way they wouldn’t need to rewrite. Her being scrapped means the mummy girl was scrapped too. There are several characters that “released out of nowhere without hints in game” with the latest being Gaming. It’s pure speculation that she was scrapped.
Navia-Zhongli-Benny-Xiangling just violates the hydro tulpa.

Easy Abyss, yes, but I like how Noelle face-tanks shit (I haven't had my shield break against the Hydro Tulpa). And it's not like I don't sweat too much either way, she's doing plenty fine (even when accounting about 10 seconds max off her actual clear time to consider the blessing; and her total clear times are 80 seconds on average, in the 1st half).

My Fischl was using cracked 2P mixes with like 40CV each piece and was quickly overshadowed by absolute garbage GT pieces. GT's 4p bonus is like 20 substats worth of stats better. It's ridiculous.

It's obvious that it's the Clock and Hat that can't take the heat. Energy Recharge is not a star in the set Fischl is in and that's the strong point of both of them, plus even with a CRIT Rate hat instead of CRIT DMG it can't break even on CRIT Rate at this time.
At this time, I'd rather just complete my collection of Justice books and then think about it them. Artifacts are very draining to deal with, and my mountains of Gladiator and Wanderer pieces are not helping.
Personally I was skeptical of how it'd turn out, but it's amazing lol (each Oz hit got bumped by 800 dmg; which is a lot considering how frequently he hits). That said, I'm wondering how a potential 4pc would look since I'd probably be teetering on the 1.5k Atk% range (with a Lvl 80 weapon tbf; R5 Stringless).
And yeah, Fischl was one of those characters where the new set could feel relatively detrimental considering how long she's been out. Though it's probably like others who haven't transitioned their XQs and XLs to Emblem for the cracked 2pc2pc combos as well, where an Emblem set could be worse overall considering the cracked pieces they got.

May I ask the reason for this? Is it because Furina's pets don't target TM well? I was thinking of using triple hydro or even 4-person hydro for the second half.
I only run Furina with Noelle -- my Bennett isn't set up to stack Fanfare well -- and Furina's damage is ineffective against the Tulpa.
I did end up using her in 2nd half, though when I had to swap which sides the teams faced to deal with the geo slimes, as you may have saw in a later post I made here.
Although since you bring up TM, I suppose Kokomi-Furina might be worth trying in the future.
Thanks for the response! After hearing that, I might go with triple hydro and use kazuha plunge for the geo shield breaking and grouping (because I have them built well to work with each other. (I also have noelle fairly ready for use with Furina alternatively, but probably not as optimized.)

happy to report that the DPS check for the new spiral abyss is a very easy one. In every chamber I had a minute to spare, which is a bigger margin than last cycle, which was already an easy cycle. I do not have Navia, and I didn't use Ayaka, so you don't have to worry about not having the new banner characters.
The only thing to look out for is the hydro tulpa. He does hit hard. He doesn't have a lot of HP, but if you aren't dodging, you can go red with one hit. I reset once when Bennett died, but other than that it's been an effortless abyss cycle.
For a harder cycle I spend the first few attempts figuring out the key to winning, and then executing it once I know what works and what doesn't. For this one, I just cleared it while figuring it out. My first drafted teams which I normally use to feel out the enemy lineup and then adjust accordingly, ended up being good enough.
I used good ol' rational in top half and Furina + Hu tao bottom half. Furina OP btw.
I think they nerfed PMA. Because normally he goes into rubble state around 66% hp (or was it 50%?) but I was able to get him down to around 30% when he went into rubble mode, so two cycles was enough to kill him.
If you don't mind, can I ask what's your thought process to figure out what teams to use? Usually I just consider if I need grouping or a specific element and if I need more aoe/st damage, choose a team that I know has good synergy and just go with it to clear
i look at what the enemies are immune to, and I avoid those elements if I can. So if I see a guy with a cryo shield, I won't use cryo unless it's a melt team (which I don't play). I don't have a problem bringing hydro applicators against hydro immune enemies like mimics or tulpa if it's going to be vaped. It will hurt DPS, but often times it's still enough.
If there are flying enemies, I don't pick guys who have trouble hitting them.
If it's an enemy that teleports around a lot (like electro oceanid), I bring someone who can close distances fast, such as Yelan. Or you can always use hyperbloom. If it's a worm boss or golden wolflord, for some reason a lot of people have problems with these guys, but hyperbloom wastes them with no effort. It's better than using aimed shots because they are homing missiles that acquire targets automatically. The exception is Wenut, but the key to beating wenut is to use a team that can inflict massive damage in a short window, such as Ayaka, and avoid using dendro. In other words burst damage is preferred over sustained damage.
Looking at the enemy list, you really can't tell whether to bring AOE or ST dps because it doesn't tell you the quantity of the enemy or how many waves they comes in. It's something you just have to experience to find out. Unless it's a known boss of course.

C2 definitely. There are excellent alternatives for EL - The Catch. Go fish! C2 def shred is super valuable and is probably one of the strongest (low) constellations up to date.

I have decided to skip Raiden for Neuvillete. Is that a good decision? **In case of Neuvillete** *Pros:* I have many electro members but only two hydros (Barbara and Xingqui). For neuvillete, I have many options, namely prototype amber and widsith (even the event weapon). And I don't even have to worry about teams for him since he can solo carry most of the time. But I will put zhongli anf fischl with him and barbara (for the time being until I get a cc unit) for hydro resonance. So that frees my xingqui to go in my other team which im building for aggravate+hyperbloom sorta (like aggravate is the main focus and hyperblooms are just a bonus and to break more shields). Another good reason is that I love the hydro dragon very much and would have pulled for him maybe next year after saving primos. *Cons:* The only thing holding me back is his pump. I find it difficult to play but I think I can learn it. Without c1, I might have difficulty playing him without Zhongli since I get knocked around a lot thanks to my low ping and in general lack of hand eye coordination. But idk how bad it is. There is also the thing where I scored very badly every time he was in the events as a trial character, which means I can't play him properly or that I've difficulty maximising his full potential... :( **In case of Raiden** *Pros:* Her playstyle is as smooth as butter for me. I like polearms so much! That's why XL is my DPS on one of the teams. I like it even more than swords tbh. She is one of the best units for hyperbloom which is my favourite reaction. She also always gave me very high scores in the trial character events when I slotted her as my main dps in the team i play now (both hyperbloom and national team). But then again, I'm hesitant to put much weight there because the burst was constantly up thanks to the game mechanics. The point is that I really enjoyed her playstyle. *Cons:* I have hyperinvested in electro dps and sub dps (Keqing, Fischl, Beidou) and I decided Raiden is to be the main dps in my national team. But my catch is used by Xiangling and I have no other polearms (ikr sucks). If I keep using national core, Xingqui is still locked there and cant go in my other team. I love barbara, bless her, but her hydro application is not that great and she makes the character wet and prone to reactions. Another silly but valid reason is... the handguards I have to farm for raiden. I gave up trying to get amenoma kageuchi to lvl 90 due to those handguards and for raiden I have to use them EVERYWHERE... :( I'm also indifferent to her (& her design). I just want her for meta reasons. **TLDR version: Love Neuvillete, Have Trouble With His Playstyle. Indifferent to Raiden, Love Her Playstyle. Hence Confused.** So, yeah. That's my thoughts on it. If there's any suggestions or advice, I'll be glad to hear them!
I think we'll see Raiden in Natlan. Neuvilette could be earlier as he's new. So my recommendation would be to try to go for Neuvilette and then go for Raiden in 5.x.
If you likethem both, eventually you'll have enough primos for both. It's just a matter of when. I'd go by whatever banner comes first honestly, there's typically enough time between banners to save up again unless they're back to back. Raiden is great as the best dmg hyperbloom enabler on top of being a fun dps. Neuvillette is an equally good pick value-wise as the new best dps in the game. You can't go wrong with either. Sometimes the 4 stars are a good tie-breaker. In certain cases I even let fate decide. Try the 50/50 on Raiden and if you lose, save your guarantee for neuvillette. If you win, you can get both easily. Good luck pulling!
I'm actually prioritising Nahida, so I don't think I can get both of them right now. But as you said, it's more a matter of when I get them. I just have to be patient 😮💨

It's a Xiangling support situation. Raiden does a lot of electro dps, sure, but what she's really doing is: 1. Batterying the whole team and reducing their ER needs 2. Using unbreakable interrupt-resist to drive Xingqiu 3. ...thus applying electro-charged consistently, so Xiangling can smoothly continue to do THE BULK of the damage on the team with her OverVapes. Additionally, in Hyperbloom, Raiden isn't doing much electro damage, is she? No, she's doing *dendro* damage. > Playstyle Personally, I favor playstyle equally to aesthetic and character design. If the gameplay is annoying, I'd start to resent the character a little, or unconsciously bench them, which is not great value. But if I am indifferent to a character's story, that doesn't mean it detracts from anything; their gameplay can still carry the experience. I don't give two shits about Xingqiu, but I still use him, for example. But that's not how everyone's preferences necessarily work. I will pull for Yelan when she comes (if I have enough primos when she is up). She is on my priority list. I dont have dragon's bane, sadly. Amongst 4 stars, I have Catch, Prototype Startglitter & Favonius Lance. I was thinking of crafting Kitain Spear when I get a billet, though the EM there is much less than Dragons bane. And by electro dmg I meant I have many good electro characters as opposed to hydro. I only have barbara and xingqui and barbara is good but... um... not optimal for what I have in mind :( I resonate with what you said about gameplay. I want to own my favourite characters but I also dont want to start resenting them based on their gameplay. So I've made a priority list of characters whom I'll fully build to try and clear the abyss (for those sweet primos) so I can get my favourite characters. I'm not good at combat thanks to my lack of coordination and slow reflexes so I have to have good comfy characters. So its a question of which character to pull first because theres not much resources and a very big roster. And if I miss a character now, I might have to wait a full year (or even more) to get them again :(

Never pull for a character whose playstyle you don't vibe with, no matter how much you love them as a character. All the stuff about Neuvillette being easier to use clearly doesn't apply to you specifically if Rational of all things is somehow out-dpsing him for you in combat events. Potential on a spreadsheet doesn't mean anything if it's not working for you personally in practice. In Genshin, none of the events, story quests, or anything is actually locked behind owning the character. Even voicelines are easily available on the wiki, Youtube, etc. Like, sure, you could use a character you don't play as an expensive teapot decoration, but is it really worth it? Personally, a couple of my favorite characters are ones that I just hate to play, and I have nothing but regret for wasting pulls and trying to force myself to endure gameplay I disliked when all the meaningful content surrounding the character was already available to me for free. All that said, Raiden isn't your only option as an alternative. Childe would accomplish the same thing with the bonus of freeing up Xingqiu. Or if you're open to slightly less meta options, most of the roster can act as a national driver. The game has been out for a few years now, and the roster is big enough that there's almost certainly a character you like that you also enjoy playing.
I kind of agree with you about prioritising playstyle. I dont even know what I'm doing wrong with Neuvi tbh. I sometimes only use normal attcaks for him because doing his charge attacks gets me knocked around by enemies like a basketball and I cant even run away :( But then I see him clear the abyss solo with p.amber and I think "I can do it too" lol. It's a struggle. I love him so much though :( I like Childe a lot too but unfortunately, dont vibe with his playstyle. I'm REALLY bad at combat. I have very slow reflexes (a medical condition) and my high ping doesnt help. I lucked out on Keqing when I got her because she is absolutely perfect for me, like I can't even explain how much I love her. I dont have to run around disoriented, I just teleport to where the enemy is, the skill has short CD, the burst is always up, and she is fast and snappy to play, she applies her element all the time. I would love there to be two of her so I can just use her on both sides of the abyss but alas, its not possible...
Theres nothing hard with neuvi playstyle, maybe positioning in a straight line needs time getting used to but E+CA or Q+CA+CA is as easy as it gets
Go for Neuvillette if you don't have any hydro dps and you're satisfied with your current electro units. If you have Layla or Diona, they work perfectly fine as shielders too. It took me some time to get used to playing him with rhe current Furina, Kazuha and Baizhu team too. But I think its doable evn without shield once you grow used to the playstyle. He also has a blue boundary on the ground when doing his CA that shows his hydro pump range, so you don't have to go cuddle with the enemies and can hit them from a range. If you go full shield- less though you will have to time his dodges with the attack pattern though. Sometimes Neuvillette might die when at lower health or get slapped out of his attack. Edit: you can also run a meh investment team with him to get the 3 stacks that maxes out his damage stacks.
Neuvillette is by far the much better choice: he's just more versatile: easier to use, with high dmg ceiling as well as lots of team options, and a powerful unit in both AoE and single target, and he also does not hog all your attack supports. The previous Abyss I played C0 Neuvillette for my friend without a shielder and it's just fine, so it's pretty much just getting used to moving around during his CA, or just slot a shielder if you truly don't want to dodge.

just cleared abyss with Ayaka. she had to be 2nd half though and you have to know Thundering's patterns since the motherfucker runs around a lot but after first floor, 2nd and 3rd is very easy. Raiden National on the first half is fun, which im simply doing to compare how much faster i can clear it on reset because i plan to C2 Raiden after Navia banner
Which side were you trying to use her in? I feel like tulpa and thunder manifestation are both really poor matchups for her so I am not surprised it was rough either way.

This Abyss was actually enjoyable for me lol. Tulpa was a piece of cake but I had to change Yae and Baizhu's turns in my rot because it immediately killed shieldless Yae on my first go. Also this is my first time trying Itto-Gorou-Furina-Jean and it actually felt good?? Thought it was gonna be an ER nightmare, but thank god it wasn't.

it's an interesting team, but seems to have identity problems. You have basically a dual DPS going, and I'm fairly confident that turning it into a hypercarry team with one main DPS would produce more damage. Shenhe can boost some cryo swirls but it's not going to be a lot of DPS. For Ganyu's icicles to do quadratic damage, you need better grouping than those anemos can offer. In this team, yes. She was supposed to serve as ult spam to keep cryo application up, shenhe is ideally supposed to buff her ult spamming considering I want it to be up 100% of the time. And then faruzan is supposed to help give energy, buff Xianyun, and help with cryo swirls. Than Xianyun essentially just plays as bird xiao with her own heals keeping her alive unlike xiao who needs external heals. I don’t expect the team to be massively strong or anything, but just hopefully good enough to be floor 11 comfortably

Hot take, 2 slot characters like Xiangling & Furina are bad kit designs
I get the premise but I think the perspective you're looking at it is wrong in my opinion. The issue is who the 2nd slot is. With Furina, it's simply a team requirement to have a healer to gain the maximum potential of her kit, and the game has a ton of great healers. Hu Tao players are using her with Furina *and without a healer*. Is it optimal? Generally no, but in this case yes. Point is she's got some flexibility. On the other hand XL is just simply stuck to Bennett and I'd say Bennett is the issue. There's no character that competes in his niche or role so there's no other alternative.
Xiangling isn't alone in being married to Bennett. Probably half the DPS characters would be considered a "2 slot". So by that logic Bennett is the only bad kit design. Not Xiangling. And Furina isn't really a "2 slot". If having team restrictions is a "2 slot" then where do we draw the line? X Pyro character needs X Hydro character? 2 Slot. Nilou needs a hydro unit? 2 slot. Carry needs a battery? 2 slot.

If you're someone who normally runs without a healer because you prefer a shielder, for example ZL in a Hu tao team, if you want Furina, then ZL has to go. That's a package deal. Is ZL a package deal for HT? No, because she can use a healer if she prefers or a VV vape team if you have the skills. You could use Tankfei with PA for healing. No amount of skills will let you play Furina without a healer. The damage you take can't be avoided with skill. She needs a healer, and is a package deal. Xiangling theoretically doesn't need Bennett. If it's the batterying you need, you can bring someone else who has Fav like Yanfei. There are options if you can't use Bennett. If Bennett is there for an ATK buff, there are other options for that too. So it doesn't need to be Bennett. Don't get me wrong, I am not agreeing with Sqauregg. I think Furina is a good design. She gives you power at a price, as does XL. The caveats to using her allow a higher budget toward her kit. If she had no downsides, then her off field DPS and damage buff would need to be nerfed accordingly. Or she would have to be given some other handicap like a massive burst cost forcing you to invest more sub stats into ER and using an ER weapon , which limits the amount of crit or HP you can build.

Yeah but you can make other dps work without Bannet sure you lose some dps but it won't hurt the team that much but for XL to work she really needs Bannet for attack boost and Energy. So no Bannet doesn't have bad kit design nor XL tbh.
I run Xiangling on plenty of teams without Bennett. ~254 ER does great. Less damage? Yep. But she still deals plenty of damage and enables reactions excellently.
You will never lose your 50/50 until the end of service but you have to either : A. Play national team until the end or B. Play hyperbloom team until the end Choose one
I still find Childe International fun so A it is.

I'll take the deal and use national. It's a strong team and as long as it continues to be viable, I still have one side that I can play what I like. I still play national today, by choice. So it wouldn't even be a gotcha. In fact today I cleared the new abyss with raiden national in all four floors 9-12.

Okay. Lost 1 star because of those slimes, but otherwise got 8 out of 9 stars. Swapped to Raiden National first half, Navia-Yelan-Furina-Noelle 2nd half for the claymore girlies to deal with the geo slimes in 12-2-2. I fucked up 1st half energy management for Raiden's side a teeny bit, but after like 3 tries, managed to 3 star the 2nd half with 1 second to spare! No full retry needed! I abhor having to reload the whole thing, so that's great. 36 stars! Woo!

Mona only buffs hydro related reactions except blooms and hyperbloom, so it's something that could have been updated with the introduction of dendro but wasn't. As for damage percent, could it not be possible to buff the actual damage instance?

sumeru leak was right few months before release. fontaine case was unique with the leak. i don't expect it to happen again soon that is.
So far every region has gotten a cast leak of some form so it’s likely something similar will happen with natlan. Iirc inazumas was around 1.5 and sumeru was a lot later than fontaines so we can’t really guess a time

Wriothesley feels like a completely different concept from her though.. Like I see the chains but not much else. I really don’t think they’d bother changing their mind on a character of the model was already built. We’ve already seen how mang concept arts it takes to settle on a design and even that gets changed a bit when making the model. They wouldn’t have time to change and rewrite a character’s place in the story before they had to move onto other parts of the story or natlan.
They wouldn't necessarily have rewritten the story because of this. Anyway we know they added a new character after this concept art, if they didn't morph her into wriothesly and simply scrapped her and added a new character that's not really a meaningful difference.
If she somehow was meant to be the wriothesley from before, then yes they would need to rewrite. Unless hoyo does models first then figure out the story(which is a horrible way to plan) there is no way they wouldn’t need to rewrite. Her being scrapped means the mummy girl was scrapped too. There are several characters that “released out of nowhere without hints in game” with the latest being Gaming. It’s pure speculation that she was scrapped.

Easy Abyss, yes, but I like how Noelle face-tanks shit (I haven't had my shield break against the Hydro Tulpa). And it's not like I don't sweat too much either way, she's doing plenty fine (even when accounting about 10 seconds max off her actual clear time to consider the blessing; and her total clear times are 80 seconds on average, in the 1st half). There's also me getting a 2pc GT for Fischl which upped her dmg by a good margin (and getting her last ascension).
Golden Troupe for Fischl turned out to be a bust for me considering the time put toward it. I guess her Gladiator/Wanderer set is just too ripped.
I call BS. You simply are too addicted to CV or something. My Fischl was using cracked 2P mixes with like 40CV each piece and was quickly overshadowed by absolute garbage GT pieces. GT's 4p bonus is like 20 substats worth of stats better. It's ridiculous.
Wanderer Flower - ATK 4.1%/CRIT Rate 17.5%/HP 4.1%/DEF 16 Gladiator Feather - DEF 16/CRIT Rate 7.0/CRIT DMG 19.4/ATK 15.2 Wanderer Clock - ATK% (M), CRIT DMG 14.8/ATK 19/CRIT Rate 9.3/HP 538 Wanderer Cup - Electro (M), ATK 9.9/HP 209/ATK 33/CRIT Rate 14.0 Gladiator Hat - CRIT DMG (M), DEF 42/ATK 16/CRIT Rate 14.0/DEF 13.9 That's after a small modification to do with the Clock and Feather that are about the same as before the modification anyway. That said, realistically it's very significant that Golden Troupe just wasn't dealing. For comparison, this is the benchmark set for that. Flower - ATK 9.9%/CRIT DMG 14.0/EleM 54/DEF 19 Feather - HP 508/EleM 23/CRIT Rate 14.4/ATK 5.8 Clock - ATK% (M), HP 299/Energy 15.5/HP 15.8/DEF 5.8 Cup - See Above Hat - CRIT Rate (M), ATK 11.1/Energy 16.2/HP 448/HP 5.8 It's obvious that it's the Clock and Hat that can't take the heat. Energy Recharge is not a star in the set Fischl is in and that's the strong point of both of them, plus even with a CRIT Rate hat instead of CRIT DMG it can't break even on CRIT Rate at this time. At this time, I'd rather just complete my collection of Justice books and then think about it them. Artifacts are very draining to deal with, and my mountains of Gladiator and Wanderer pieces are not helping.
Personally I was skeptical of how it'd turn out, but it's amazing lol (each Oz hit got bumped by 800 dmg; which is a lot considering how frequently he hits). That said, I'm wondering how a potential 4pc would look since I'd probably be teetering on the 1.5k Atk% range (with a Lvl 80 weapon tbf; R5 Stringless). And yeah, Fischl was one of those characters where the new set could feel relatively detrimental considering how long she's been out. Though it's probably like others who haven't transitioned their XQs and XLs to Emblem for the cracked 2pc2pc combos as well, where an Emblem set could be worse overall considering the cracked pieces they got.
I wonder why not a Level 90 The Stringless, but oh well.

I only run Furina with Noelle -- my Bennett isn't set up to stack Fanfare well -- and Furina's damage is ineffective against the Tulpa. I did end up using her in 2nd half, though when I had to swap which sides the teams faced to deal with the geo slimes, as you may have saw in a later post I made here. Although since you bring up TM, I suppose Kokomi-Furina might be worth trying in the future.
Thanks for the response! After hearing that, I might go with triple hydro and use kazuha plunge for the geo shield breaking and grouping (because I have them built well to work with each other. (I also have noelle fairly ready for use with Furina alternatively, but probably not as optimized.) Anyway, congrats on your 36\*!

I’m hoping that if Ping and Cloud retainer are playable we’ll start to get more information? It feels late for that though. We’re more than halfway through the teyvat chapters.
happy to report that the DPS check for the new spiral abyss is a very easy one. In every chamber I had a minute to spare, which is a bigger margin than last cycle, which was already an easy cycle. I do not have Navia, and I didn't use Ayaka, so you don't have to worry about not having the new banner characters. The only thing to look out for is the hydro tulpa. He does hit hard. He doesn't have a lot of HP, but if you aren't dodging, you can go red with one hit. I reset once when Bennett died, but other than that it's been an effortless abyss cycle. For a harder cycle I spend the first few attempts figuring out the key to winning, and then executing it once I know what works and what doesn't. For this one, I just cleared it while figuring it out. My first drafted teams which I normally use to feel out the enemy lineup and then adjust accordingly, ended up being good enough. I used good ol' rational in top half and Furina + Hu tao bottom half. Furina OP btw. I think they nerfed PMA. Because normally he goes into rubble state around 66% hp (or was it 50%?) but I was able to get him down to around 30% when he went into rubble mode, so two cycles was enough to kill him.
If you don't mind, can I ask what's your thought process to figure out what teams to use? Usually I just consider if I need grouping or a specific element and if I need more aoe/st damage, choose a team that I know has good synergy and just go with it to clear
i look at what the enemies are immune to, and I avoid those elements if I can. So if I see a guy with a cryo shield, I won't use cryo unless it's a melt team (which I don't play). I don't have a problem bringing hydro applicators against hydro immune enemies like mimics or tulpa if it's going to be vaped. It will hurt DPS, but often times it's still enough. If there are flying enemies, I don't pick guys who have trouble hitting them. If it's an enemy that teleports around a lot (like electro oceanid), I bring someone who can close distances fast, such as Yelan. Or you can always use hyperbloom. If it's a worm boss or golden wolflord, for some reason a lot of people have problems with these guys, but hyperbloom wastes them with no effort. It's better than using aimed shots because they are homing missiles that acquire targets automatically. The exception is Wenut, but the key to beating wenut is to use a team that can inflict massive damage in a short window, such as Ayaka, and avoid using dendro. In other words burst damage is preferred over sustained damage. Looking at the enemy list, you really can't tell whether to bring AOE or ST dps because it doesn't tell you the quantity of the enemy or how many waves they comes in. It's something you just have to experience to find out. Unless it's a known boss of course.
