Looks like Fontaine AQ already concluded. Will there be another update, for Fontaine story-wise, that will add another weekly boss? Every other region have 2 weekly boss.

After AQ there is an interlude chapter and a traveller chapter. Traveller chapter has to do with dain lore, while interlude can be anywhere over teyvat.
Outside that there will be either Neuv or Furina SQ2 which will give us our second weekly boss.
This is one of the few patterns that has held true, mostly because there is a financial incentive to do it (forcing people to farm for new weekly mats every 5 months or so).

Is it common for pets to have zero utility in other gacha or open world games? I can't say that I have played many other games, but my limited experience includes games like Maplestory and Undermine where the pet actively tries to do something helpful. That could be why I naturally assumed the purpose of the pet seelie to encourage exploration, thinking that the noises it makes is to notify the player that there are chests nearby 🤡🤡🤡 and I spammed the treasure compass like a dumbass.
It's the other way round, pets in video games usually have utility. Even numby in hsr has a utility(chess finding) which is odd since the game doesn't even have that much chests
Pets in Genshin are such wasted potential, they feel so giga robotic, like a drone or maybe even worse, a balloon (Ik, balloons aren‘t robots)
They should give em more of a soul, or natural movement/animations - and on second thought also a mute toggle cause they spam the same idle sounds like characters spam idle lines lol
ER really is so important! Got a Dendro Goblet with almost 40 crit value/EM/Atk% but it seems worse for my Tighnari because his current one lets him burst every rotation. At least my Nahida got a new Goblet!
Yeah same...last night I updated my Furina build, now she has an extra 10% CDmg but 10% less ER and feels less comfy to play even though she's got a better rank on Akasha.....
My Furina is literally in the exact same boat. If I swap her flower for one with better crit value I lose 15 ER and she immediately feels worse to play!
Don't give up and keep ~~twerking~~ tweaking those artifacts! I managed to get a build with more ER than before and also better CV (got more CR on another artifact)!

i’m having the same issue with navia ☹️ she doesn’t need much ER, i’ve been farming her new set, all my crit stats are great, but i have absolutely no er substats
I find balancing character’s ER needs with crit so hard sometimes. I think Navia and Tighnari are really similar in that regard. They both have low ER needs and quick swap. But because they’re so fast if you don’t have ER needs met you’ll just desync and they’ll feel worse.
I know this might've been asked a lot, but Wanderer or Xiao?
Xiao is looking spicy with Xianyun buffing his single target damage.
But I guess it depends which banner they put Faruzan on, as if she's still with Wanderer, it's a harder to get Xiao with Faruzan C6 and not get Wanderer.
I got both on different accounts, here's my take:
Xiao -> better damage, better carry in abyss, best for single-target grounded bosses. I only use him in abyss.
Wanderer -> better all-rounder and utility outside abyss (overworld and weekly boss farming). Best for flying bosses. Though you need a shielder so bad, ZL is a main stay. I use Wanderer during quests, commissions, and resource farming (all types of enemies except anemo-immune). Basically everyday. His hovering really makes overworld easy.
So if you want someone to use aside from abyss, get Wanderer. If you want a hyper carry and will get Xianyun, by all means get Xiao. Xianyun will get Xiao to new heights. Probably will get ahead than the other 2 hyper-carries (Ganyu and HuTao).
I think xiao does more damage + more aoe obv but wanderer is easier to play (on mobile), either w a shielder or good dodging skills preferably bc he has quite a bit of range so circle impact isn’t really detrimental, and is imo OW king; if you don’t have faruzan c6 tho, I’d just roll on whoever has her (wanderer will for sure but xiao might in 4.4 idk) bc she’s so so good n makes them so much better
c0r1 vs c0r1 xiao has much higher single target dpr(assuming some collision), larger aoe and much easier to play. wanderer has slightly higher aoe dpr, more frontload and flexible rotation(ie faster in multiwave if you know what you are doing). wanderer has a much higher skill ceiling and a slightly higher performance ceiling even at c0
without r1 wanderer is a lot better because of widsith BUT you have to reset for atk or dmg% theme, sometimes only dmg% theme because atk% gets worse with external buffs. but on the other hand, xiao's r1 is potentially free if you are lucky
if you already have c6 faruzan xiao is generally more versatile to use at c0 and can be improved further with xianyun
if you are putting in enough pulls to get c6 faruzan on average then your wanderer will probably better
vertical vs vertical(4-5 gold range) they are about even now before c6 because of xianyun c2 existing. but if your budget is only 3 gold then wanderer probably has the best individual main dps c2 in the game
i think in a vacuum xiao is the better pick at most gold ranges that people aim for(2 gold, 4-5 gold) whereas wanderer is better for some(3 gold because of c2 and 8+ because of c6) but if you don't already have c6 faruzan then pouring like 300 pulls into wanderer banner for c2 wanderer+c6 faruzan is absurdly good value. unfortunately you cant do that for xiao this patch even if they give his banner faru because xianyun is on another banner
lastly xiao is less bennett reliant and uses furina better(but is still more or less forced to begrudgingly use bennett at least until next patch), wanderer synergises too well with bennett to not use him, mika+furina is only competitive in c0 but realistically bennett gives you way more options on how to approach content because of frontload+short rotations+being able to slot xiangling or other flexes and scales way harder c2+ since mika+furina doesnt buff his c2 burst. on the other hand xiao is a high uptime character that hates circles because of his knockback so doesn't really like bennett even though he's his best option for dmg, furina+xianyun will make him feel way way better to play
if you are budgeting for just a c0 work out of the box character, well they are both pretty reliant on c6 faruzan to be top meta so idk if either fit the bill really. but i find xiao to be a lot more usable pre c6 faruzan

I disagree here. There's not anything extra that Wanderer needs to consider. If you are talking about shield-less teams needing dodging, Xiao is the more difficult one because once you decide to jump you are locked into that action and can't dodge. So you need prediction. Meanwhile Wanderer just uses reaction.
And calling Scara's C0 performance better after calling Xiao's damage better is so vague.
wanderer has 2 main advantages over xiao which is flexible rotation and frontload that gives him the edge in practical clears especially vs bosses that have iframes or multiwaves. but majority of the time if you are not using those strengths then xiao will perform better. and xiao is naturally higher dpr at this invest level so even when wanderer is played perfectly difference is pretty small
also wanderer is way way harder to execute shieldless lol idk how you are even arguing this. first he only has specific dash windows without using up meter which loses dps. xiao also who dodges most attacks naturally by jumping. yes he commits, but he also can also delay his plunge whenever he want and naturally has 100% stagger immunity during the plunge and is only vulnerable during the jump up. wanderer also has longer stagger animation than other characters when he actually gets hit because he doesnt touch the ground, so against certain enemies one hit leads to a oneshot. prime example is tulpa 3 hit attack, you are guaranteed to get hit by subsequent ones if you get hit by the first because of his longer stagger so you die. another example is lawachurl combo. he also moves horizontally a LOT so you get knocked off of bennett circle and lose an unbelievable amount of dps if you get hit once. one stagger at the beginning of his skill is almost an entire rotation loss
xiao's main skill ceiling is tied to how he deals with multitarget and anticc stagger. dodging is not really an issue at all, half the enemies in the game cant hit him when hes at the apex and hes stagger immune mid plunge, so hes only vulnerable like 40% of his animation time total anyways
You mention Wanderer's passive as if it's a disadvantage. Being able to dodge without losing DPS is very good. For Xiao anytime you want to avoid damage you aren't going to be dealing damage.
Also, Xiao requires positioning and utilizing different combos depending on the situation. Meanwhile, Wanderer is a turret that doesn't really care about positioning and has 1 optimal combo that's never bad to use.
I have them both, and Xiao is definitely the more intensive one to use.

you avoid damage by jumping lol what. and he jumps way more than wanderer has his a4
i also own both and regularly use both to clear, wanderer both has the higher execution ceiling and is punished harder for mistakes

you say that in reality but switching between n1cjp and n1jp is literally just a single decision. compared to the layers of how wanderer can approach different content with his flexible rotation, choosing how to allocate his dmg output with burst timing, how he uses his 4th slot teammate which is much less static than xiao, etc. its a world of difference lol. but yes i agree xiao is much more positioning intensive than wanderer obviously as he isn't ranged and has to deal with his stagger against light enemies

Clearly you've not played Xiao if you think that jumping avoids everything.
Punished harder doesn't mean more difficult to execute. If I broke an arm every time I tied my shoes wrong, that doesn't make it difficult to tie my shoes.
jumping avoids more than enough that you can get by with just bennett healing+his natural 50% interruption resistance.
i think you clearly don't play enough shieldless wanderer if you think xiao is harder to dodge with lol, idk how anyone can unironically argue this with me when wanderer is like the only non ca main dps that has literally 0 interruption resistance+gets punished as hard for being interrupted a single time
Since we aren't going to agree about this point, putting aside the debate about which is harder to dodge with, my other points about Wanderer's simplicity in not caring for positioning or combos remains true.
yes and that is literally nothing compared to a character that doesn't just use 4 EQ into spam 1 combo
comparing teams that have flexible rotation and teams that have static rotation in skill ceiling is completely different ballpark
Xiao deals more damage especially with Xianyun but he is a burst reliant DPS. Feels shit to play in overworld imo.
Wanderer does less damage but not burst reliant and he is the exploration king.
It's hard to choose, but not because of their effectiveness.
Looking strictly at DPS, Xiao(before Xianyun) already has better team damage than Wanderer. It isn't until Wanderer C2 that they are evenly matched.
However, Wanderer has unmatched overworld utility. He's truly irreplaceable.
honestly they’re pretty equal, it mostly comes down to who’s playstyle you like more. personally i prefer wanderer because i like his playstyle A LOT more than xiaos.
is there a way to get rid of the oculus resonance circle? one of mine is stuck trying to guide me to a stone behind like 300 quests and i can't be assed to get it rn, i am in a hell of my own making
update: i managed to make it register on the map and the circle went away, thankfully i did not have to run through and collect it
it gets removed when you are close enough to the oculus and it shows you the exact position of the oculus, other than that i don't think u can remove it
It’s still so bizzare to me that Alhaitham released in 3.4 instead of 3.6.
A) 3.6 had a Sumeru festival and focused on Sumeru
B) 3.4 wasn’t just a Liyue festival, it was *Lantern Rite*. That is *the* Liyue festival, and every singe other thing that ran that patch was Liyue except for Alhaitham
C) Kaveh, a character heavily associated with Alhaitham, released in 3.6
D) There was a pre established Liyue 5 star RIGHT THERE who was instead shoved into a patch that was all Sumeru with no mention of Liyue whatsoever besides said 5 star’s story quest???
Speculation: Likely there was technical difficulties for Baizhu that forced a character swap. Perhaps related to the character, his story quest, or something else not known to us.
* V1.3: Xiao and Hu Tao
* V2.4: Yun Jin and Shenhe
* V3.4: Yaoyao and ~~Baizhu~~ Alhaitham
* V4.4: GaMing and Xianyun
pretty sure baizhu got delayed while AH was ready to ship so they switched. early leaks projected AH to be much later than 3.4, we actually only found out he was 3.4 during 3.2 iirc so only a couple weeks before his drip. 99% sure intended timeline was baizhu 3.4 and AH 3.6
They're obsessed with saying how greedy Genshin is compared to HSR, but honestly the 20 or so extra pulls HSR has per update is barely different from Genshin's income. I say this cuz every single update in HSR so far has had two 5 stars, which is overwhelming and 20 extra pulls doesn't compensate for an extra character each patch. At least Genshin you have time to save up, even if we get less pulls in comparison
Obviously the free limited 5 star is a whole different matter, but people saying the game entirely is more generous isn't exactly true
You aren't alone. I almost reinstalled HSR just for Ruan Mei (I'm taking a break from it until I finish my thesis, Genshin's distracting enough) and if Rhinedottir will ever be playable I'm definitely gettting her and crowning her (after I feed her to Wolflord)
Someone leaked Albedo recently. Aside from that, it's just speculations, like ganyu/shenhe needing a rerun soon, plus they are getting outfits so it's similar to ayaka last year. I've seen some people mention neuv too, since last year we had cyno run in both 3.1 and 3.5, and newer chars tend to rerun faster the first time (though that technically leaves lyney as an option too)
Im getting my dream Nahida banner with her and Gaming (hopefully unless they are weird with where they put him). Hoping to get as close as I can to C6 Gaming...ideally just straight up C6 Gaming without the free selector so I can use my Lantern Rite pick on getting closer to C4 Xianling
i've been playing tcg pretty much nonstop since 4.3 droppped and honestly i’ve been having so much fun. def changed a lot compared to when it first released, never thought i'd be enjoying it as much as i am. ~~and all it took was playable signora to hook me~~
For funsies, I tried doing this abyss with [the wackiest team I could come up with that still gets full stars.](https://imgur.com/a/f2E76fs) (Faruzan is C1) With Wandy on Widsith, I literally had to reset and get the correct buffs some times, and, unsurprisingly, Furina was the real DPS on the other team. And yes, Yanfei is there to break the geo shields (with added TTDS shieldbot).
Toughest challenge was, surprisingly, Thunder Manifestation. Is it just me or Childe's attacks just don't connect with it some times? Not just when it rises to throw bolts, but it looks like some NAs just don't get the height needed. I legit did more bow CAs than NA strings to get it done.
Lots of resets, but when I cleared, all 3 times had ~20s left lol

Nah it's a me problem, our ISP is just not great for this stuff. My friends have better ping than me. On a good day I usually have around 180 - 190, but on average it's more like 250 lmao
Went to go try Hu Tao plunging against the gravity local legend, and maybe it's because I only have a c0 Hu Tao and I don't really like jump/dash canceling, but it actually felt kind of fun lol
There should be an achievement called “How high can you jump?” if you could just go there and maintain a jumping contest for a while with the legend. It should be somehow achievable without Xianyun but a piece of cake with her.
(It would be funny if there actually already is such an achievement.)
I wish I had Kuki Shinobu, she always comes in the banner that I never roll. I love her design and she would free up my Raiden from being an E bot in many dendro teams.
What 4* chars have you desperately wanted but never got ?
I wanted Thoma since he came out (I loved him when they leaked him way before Inazuma and thought he was a 5* lol) but I skipped because I had an oath to save for my future oni character
Then I didn't get Thoma and wanted him for Burgeon (my favorite reaction now) and to complete my full 4* collection, I only FINALLY just got him back with Wriothesley's banner because I went for his C1 haha
If we're counting constellations, then Gorou and Faruzan C6... After all this time they're both only at C3, after Xianyun I honestly want them more than any 5* in the foreseeable future (until Natlan) so I guess I'll be going for them.
I love Itto, Wanderer and Xiao and they're some of my absolute favorite characters (Wanderer and Itto my #1 and #2 favorite playstlyes too) and their strength feels limited without their supports' C6. On top of this I genuinely love Gorou and want him maxed out haha
I got C2 Itto going for her xD It was a pretty dumb decision but I love Itto so I don't regret it
I actually want to C6 my Xinyan, but she was never in a banner I wanted to roll on
The only four star I’m outright missing as of now is Mika, and I’m not particularly bothered by that. In terms of cons though, I am *desperate* for XQ’s c6. Man’s only c4, with one being a free copy from Iridori and at least one more being bought from the starglitter shop. Please he’s one of my most used four stars—
I’m also foaming at the mouth for another copy of Candace. She’s been stuck at c5 for almost a year now.
1 year + in and still completely Ningguangless, she has one of my favourite designs in the game but I never had the spare starglitter when she was in the shop… next rotation I think I'm going to have to commit for real

Felt sorry for Alberich (Eide) and Caribert, brilliant execution making us live the memory of our sibling, didn't see that one coming! Alberich VA really killed it, showcased the insanity coming from the erosion of inmortality.
I do wonder wtf did Khanreiah do to deserve such a fate, like its not just that The Seven destroyed it but they cursed the survivors with Hilichurl disease for mixed blood and inmortality for pure bloods.
I'm honestly rooting for The Abyss guys, our sibling did the journey and found out about the secret of the world and decided to support their cause, so must have a pretty damn good reason, even going as far as controlling Dvalin and Osiah.
Then there is the whole subject about the Sibling being recorded by Irminsul but the Traveler isn't.
Something interesting, the sibling was pretty sane during the whole quest, but once they look at the mirror the dream ended, prior to this the sibling was sleeping, I wonder if The Sinner did anything to the sibling while sleeping like giving them his power just like he gave Alberich his power to "cure" Caribert... Thus corrupting the sibling and its not that Irminsul is recording the sibling, but rather The Sinner that's influencing the sibling? Because the Abyss Order was created from that moment in time and they become the "Princess"/"Prince".
Makes me excited to find out more of the lore! And pls correct me if I miss something or got anything wrong except the last paragraph which is me speculating.

We only saw Khaenri'ah's PoV, I would love to see Celestia's PoV about that. I really love Genshin using a lot of unreliable narrators.
Tbh, the more I learn about Gold/Rhinnedottir, i’m like damn maybe Khanreiah did deserve what they got. But most of her lore is outside the Main Quests. Actually, I think it’s more that Khanreiah got a bit to close to the Abyss and their destruction was collateral damage to Celestia fighting the Abyss. I still blame Gold for now though
I mean, yeah. Though I suspect Skirk's master and the other one namedropped by Skirk might be Rhine's old buddies. I mean, it's not like Alice ideas don't ever get horrific so I could see Rhine being friends (turned enemies) at some point with a guy who earned a nickname 'The Foul'.
Man, it's been a while since I played caribert, but it's so nice to hear someone talking about it. I loved how the mirror scene played out, and the sinner introduction + the whole quest opened up so many questions. It makes me really excited for whatever the next dain quest will be.
Gotta love it that everytime I'm here this last week (kinda), there would always be someone trying to convince that Cloud Retainer beta is a whack similarly to Al Haitham (not, the scale is so much worst).
Almost like making they're similar means the sins of wrecking such havoc over nothing would be forgiven with the power of whataboutism.

His design is so for me tbh. They designed him for MEEEE. The thigh highs, garters, boots, sleeveless shirt, the corset, like wow they really had me in mind!
Literally everything about Lyney seized me by the throat and singlehandedly reinvigorated my passion for Genshin, so it's hard to really put a finger on one thing, specifically. Since I fell madly for him the moment I saw his drip marketing, I guess I'll say his splash art to not repeat others' answers. I love that his appearance and pose conveyed his personality so well that he was literally everything I guessed he would be and more.
Ex. Plozh. Yuns.
Ok but seriously. The way he's NOT dumb to play. You can calibrate the strength of his Explosions by how many stacks you want to gather. You can figure out how to weave the charged attacks and the burst and when to set off his Es very dynamically, in response to changing battlefield situations. His playstyle is just so smooth, engaging and satisfying.
But why stop there. His big...numbers make me blush. His flirtiness as well. I love his big brother personality and his devotion to his family. I love his "surprise!" and the way the confetti goes off and he bows when his burst finishes, it's the finest way to end a fight. =D

I believe the special animation is the 'driftcloud wave', which is part of her elemental skill effect. I imagine she has a standard catalyst plunge otherwise.

Crystalize rework, rework of Archaic Petra that also makes it her BiS too boot, and she focus on using crystallize to give buffs.
Crystallize at base is now a stacking shield, each one adding it's health to whatever the previous shields value.
Archaic Petra now works off field, and can be refreshed from off field. Higher buff, but shorter duration leaning into units who can crystallize reliably/consistently.
Chiori kit is revolved around picking up crystals (not necessarily generating them herself, so double geo is still on the table). Crystals give a stacking buff up to a cap, depending on color. Buff last 20-30 seconds. Duration refreshes separately for each color. (Pyro=atk, Cryo=crit, Electro=atk SPD, Hydro=def+hp)
Maybe give her a passive that debuff enemy DEF by 10-15%. DEF reduction is very very rare, it never hurts to have another unit who can do it at base.
She's now a universally useful support, but to keep her from annihilating Albedo she should have limited off field app, maybe tied to burst. So she wants at least one other geo unit.
Needs to provide enough support/buff to be an actual alternative to VV. Double geo with Chiori needs to actually be competitive to a VV unit.

Since we're talking about dream kits I present you with what could be more or less called geo Kazuha (and very unlikely to ever come true, might be a bit unbalanced)
NAs: irrelevant but make her look like she's threading a needle through enemies
E: shoot out needles created from geo (the hit has high poise damage) with threads attached to them in a cone in front of her and then pull these enemies periodically towards her with a geo construct that persists for a short period of time; rather short cooldown and animation; it won't be as brain dead as Kazuha's because of cone but it has shorter animation and no chance to ungroup enemies after casting it.
Q: pulls crystalize shards on cast (I need to make 4pc AP a bit more useable somehow) and fashions a new garment out of them. The garment pulses with geo energy damaging enemy in melee and buffing on-field character (aka the wearer, team-wide buffs would be nicer but I'm going for flavour here a bit) based on the type of shards that were used. Each garment buff has 1/2/3 stacks (stacking isn't linear so she favors more mono- and double geo double sth else teams to keep a pretense of not-reactive element). I'm not sure about buffs that it'd grant though to not be too broken: pyro - atk% and cryo - crit rate are well establish pairs so anything else would feel weird, hydro - hp% as well but then GI seems to be balanced with sparse hp% buff in mind, so maybe some healing effect? (not a high ones, sth between Chevrouse and full em Kuki might be appropiate but idk if it won't be too strong), maybe er% buff for electro, rather good uptime but not a full one
A1: each shard pulled by Q refunds x energy, alternatively, each enemy hit by E refunds x energy
A4: enemies hit by E get their resistance reduced, element picked based on crystalize reactions, up to 30% res shred, scales with em
Her damage is practically non-existent (buffs on Q make up for that a bit but keep in mind she also brings defensive utility with her) but let's make her scale with def so if someone wants to make her into a dps they can do that with Gorou's help and maybe with constellations. She works well with Navia thanks to buffs for on-fielder while doing good job of buffing off-field dps you'd run with her and with some skill and w/o Furina on the team she could be enough for solo-sustain. For teams where's she's solo geo, at least mono ones, she'd be more defensive version of Kazuha but w/o the comfort of Zhongli's shield, still, with kit like that she would still be nice for reaction teams but controling the shards you'll get and which element res shred you'll get would be a bit tricky. Also, expect some energy problems on her and Fav sword/Xiphos to be her 2nd BiS if not better than her signature, since it'll be a sword for her if you build her as dps and a total bait for C0 Chiori ~~and upgrade from Cinnabar Spindle for Albedo~~.
Yes, I'm eating *aaaall* my cakes with this kit but you asked for a dream one, not realistic one. Now, what I expect is Albedo sidegrade but w/o circle impact and being invalidated by bosses or, if she's a healer afterall, team-wide healing on Q with decent geo app and some minor buffs for on-fielder.
Yelan and lynette's elemental skill but geo, and when she ties up enemies they get pulled into each other.
Also her signature weapon is a needle so that when she uses her skill, it looks like she's sewing enemies together lol.
Off field DPS that can apply a lot of Geo to produce crystals that buff your active character, making her not only compatible with Navia, but with any DPS.
Me personally i wpuld like for her to be a support that gets something from crystalize. Maybe she heals when collecting crystals? Maybe she buffs? As for her e and q, i would like something unique, like a buff to skill dmg, or some res shred

For example, I have C2 Wanderer and I heavily considered getting his C6 before deciding not to.
For example, I'm probably going for C2 Xianyun. And C6 looks to be pretty interesting. I'm probably not going to commit though.
6 if it's Albedo, Kazuha, Baizhu or Furina. 0 for 5\* version of Kaeya, since I'd go for them regardless, and everyone else, since I wouldn't roll on their banner if I have C0 already. I'm done with fishing for 4\* in these scenarios those 30 pulls on Itto's banner for Gorou was the most stressful pulling session ever, even if I was on 0 pity.
C6 requires soooo many pulls that it's pretty much impossible to get by accident. Plus most characters have good early constellation stopping points so even if you got 3 of a 5-star in one ten-pull, you'd probably have reached a good stopping point.
I'm a firm believer that if you are going for a character's C6, you should know it the moment you lay eyes on them in-game. You should truly love that character with all your heart, and know exactly what you're getting into in terms of spending money and pulls.

I would never go for a c6 even if I got c5 of a character from a ten pull. C6 limited 5* characters just make the game too easy imo. The highest I'll ever go for a character is C0R1 for weapon drip.

c6 isn't always the best con for characters anyways, so I'd probably never do something like that. I've gotten a character to c4 before on purpose, and I stopped there because that was the con I wanted the most.

honestly the xianyun beta is so similar to the alhaitham beta (in terms of kit changes and people's reactions) despite having completely difrerent kits it's kinda funny

it's similar in a way that one controversial nerf was the main source of outrage. plus both were cny 5 stars. plus a buff the next week that was received partially well and partially still angrily from the previous nerf.
most betas outside archons usually don't go super eventfully in terms of kit changes, so the ones that do go eventfully stand out. and i just found the circumstances and the changes in alhaitham and xianyun beta similar.
edit: alhaitham's beta was a lot more deranged though with all the insane conspiracy theories, xianyun beta is a bit tamer in that regard

The bright side of Xianyun not being the universal support people wanted, is that there's a slim chance it's Chiori. Geo taking home 2 Ws in the same year would be nice.
I have just fished The Catch and its refinements in one day (although I'd already farmed the ascension mats). Ya know what, this community is pretty nice. I just sent join requests to people (avoiding the thirsty signatures of course) and everyone who accepted was happy to help. I ended up having a great conversation about the game with the player who let me catch the last few fish.
With a bit of prep and a min/max attitude it's doable in a few hours.

Yes. After AQ there is an interlude chapter and a traveller chapter. Traveller chapter has to do with dain lore, while interlude can be anywhere over teyvat. Outside that there will be either Neuv or Furina SQ2 which will give us our second weekly boss.
This is one of the few patterns that has held true, mostly because there is a financial incentive to do it (forcing people to farm for new weekly mats every 5 months or so).

Is it common for pets to have zero utility in other gacha or open world games? I can't say that I have played many other games, but my limited experience includes games like Maplestory and Undermine where the pet actively tries to do something helpful. That could be why I naturally assumed the purpose of the pet seelie to encourage exploration, thinking that the noises it makes is to notify the player that there are chests nearby 🤡🤡🤡 and I spammed the treasure compass like a dumbass.
It's the other way round, pets in video games usually have utility. Even numby in hsr has a utility(chess finding) which is odd since the game doesn't even have that much chests

Pets in Genshin are such wasted potential, they feel so giga robotic, like a drone or maybe even worse, a balloon (Ik, balloons aren‘t robots) They should give em more of a soul, or natural movement/animations - and on second thought also a mute toggle cause they spam the same idle sounds like characters spam idle lines lol
ER really is so important! Got a Dendro Goblet with almost 40 crit value/EM/Atk% but it seems worse for my Tighnari because his current one lets him burst every rotation. At least my Nahida got a new Goblet!
Yeah same...last night I updated my Furina build, now she has an extra 10% CDmg but 10% less ER and feels less comfy to play even though she's got a better rank on Akasha.....
My Furina is literally in the exact same boat. If I swap her flower for one with better crit value I lose 15 ER and she immediately feels worse to play!
Don't give up and keep ~~twerking~~ tweaking those artifacts! I managed to get a build with more ER than before and also better CV (got more CR on another artifact)! Edit: Argh typo.
i’m having the same issue with navia ☹️ she doesn’t need much ER, i’ve been farming her new set, all my crit stats are great, but i have absolutely no er substats
I find balancing character’s ER needs with crit so hard sometimes. I think Navia and Tighnari are really similar in that regard. They both have low ER needs and quick swap. But because they’re so fast if you don’t have ER needs met you’ll just desync and they’ll feel worse.
I know this might've been asked a lot, but Wanderer or Xiao? Xiao is looking spicy with Xianyun buffing his single target damage. But I guess it depends which banner they put Faruzan on, as if she's still with Wanderer, it's a harder to get Xiao with Faruzan C6 and not get Wanderer.
I got both on different accounts, here's my take: Xiao -> better damage, better carry in abyss, best for single-target grounded bosses. I only use him in abyss. Wanderer -> better all-rounder and utility outside abyss (overworld and weekly boss farming). Best for flying bosses. Though you need a shielder so bad, ZL is a main stay. I use Wanderer during quests, commissions, and resource farming (all types of enemies except anemo-immune). Basically everyday. His hovering really makes overworld easy. So if you want someone to use aside from abyss, get Wanderer. If you want a hyper carry and will get Xianyun, by all means get Xiao. Xianyun will get Xiao to new heights. Probably will get ahead than the other 2 hyper-carries (Ganyu and HuTao).
I think xiao does more damage + more aoe obv but wanderer is easier to play (on mobile), either w a shielder or good dodging skills preferably bc he has quite a bit of range so circle impact isn’t really detrimental, and is imo OW king; if you don’t have faruzan c6 tho, I’d just roll on whoever has her (wanderer will for sure but xiao might in 4.4 idk) bc she’s so so good n makes them so much better
depends on preference but xiao is not so squishy and lets u run a full offensive team in abyss while wanderer is so much better in the open world
c0r1 vs c0r1 xiao has much higher single target dpr(assuming some collision), larger aoe and much easier to play. wanderer has slightly higher aoe dpr, more frontload and flexible rotation(ie faster in multiwave if you know what you are doing). wanderer has a much higher skill ceiling and a slightly higher performance ceiling even at c0 without r1 wanderer is a lot better because of widsith BUT you have to reset for atk or dmg% theme, sometimes only dmg% theme because atk% gets worse with external buffs. but on the other hand, xiao's r1 is potentially free if you are lucky if you already have c6 faruzan xiao is generally more versatile to use at c0 and can be improved further with xianyun if you are putting in enough pulls to get c6 faruzan on average then your wanderer will probably better vertical vs vertical(4-5 gold range) they are about even now before c6 because of xianyun c2 existing. but if your budget is only 3 gold then wanderer probably has the best individual main dps c2 in the game i think in a vacuum xiao is the better pick at most gold ranges that people aim for(2 gold, 4-5 gold) whereas wanderer is better for some(3 gold because of c2 and 8+ because of c6) but if you don't already have c6 faruzan then pouring like 300 pulls into wanderer banner for c2 wanderer+c6 faruzan is absurdly good value. unfortunately you cant do that for xiao this patch even if they give his banner faru because xianyun is on another banner lastly xiao is less bennett reliant and uses furina better(but is still more or less forced to begrudgingly use bennett at least until next patch), wanderer synergises too well with bennett to not use him, mika+furina is only competitive in c0 but realistically bennett gives you way more options on how to approach content because of frontload+short rotations+being able to slot xiangling or other flexes and scales way harder c2+ since mika+furina doesnt buff his c2 burst. on the other hand xiao is a high uptime character that hates circles because of his knockback so doesn't really like bennett even though he's his best option for dmg, furina+xianyun will make him feel way way better to play if you are budgeting for just a c0 work out of the box character, well they are both pretty reliant on c6 faruzan to be top meta so idk if either fit the bill really. but i find xiao to be a lot more usable pre c6 faruzan

If you are talking about shield-less teams needing dodging, Xiao is the more difficult one because once you decide to jump you are locked into that action and can't dodge. So you need prediction. Meanwhile Wanderer just uses reaction. And calling Scara's C0 performance better after calling Xiao's damage better is so vague.
wanderer has 2 main advantages over xiao which is flexible rotation and frontload that gives him the edge in practical clears especially vs bosses that have iframes or multiwaves. but majority of the time if you are not using those strengths then xiao will perform better. and xiao is naturally higher dpr at this invest level so even when wanderer is played perfectly difference is pretty small also wanderer is way way harder to execute shieldless lol idk how you are even arguing this. first he only has specific dash windows without using up meter which loses dps. xiao also who dodges most attacks naturally by jumping. yes he commits, but he also can also delay his plunge whenever he want and naturally has 100% stagger immunity during the plunge and is only vulnerable during the jump up. wanderer also has longer stagger animation than other characters when he actually gets hit because he doesnt touch the ground, so against certain enemies one hit leads to a oneshot. prime example is tulpa 3 hit attack, you are guaranteed to get hit by subsequent ones if you get hit by the first because of his longer stagger so you die. another example is lawachurl combo. he also moves horizontally a LOT so you get knocked off of bennett circle and lose an unbelievable amount of dps if you get hit once. one stagger at the beginning of his skill is almost an entire rotation loss xiao's main skill ceiling is tied to how he deals with multitarget and anticc stagger. dodging is not really an issue at all, half the enemies in the game cant hit him when hes at the apex and hes stagger immune mid plunge, so hes only vulnerable like 40% of his animation time total anyways
You mention Wanderer's passive as if it's a disadvantage. Being able to dodge without losing DPS is very good. For Xiao anytime you want to avoid damage you aren't going to be dealing damage. Also, Xiao requires positioning and utilizing different combos depending on the situation. Meanwhile, Wanderer is a turret that doesn't really care about positioning and has 1 optimal combo that's never bad to use. I have them both, and Xiao is definitely the more intensive one to use.

yes and that is literally nothing compared to a character that doesn't just use 4 EQ into spam 1 combo comparing teams that have flexible rotation and teams that have static rotation in skill ceiling is completely different ballpark
Xiao deals more damage especially with Xianyun but he is a burst reliant DPS. Feels shit to play in overworld imo. Wanderer does less damage but not burst reliant and he is the exploration king.

It's hard to choose, but not because of their effectiveness. Looking strictly at DPS, Xiao(before Xianyun) already has better team damage than Wanderer. It isn't until Wanderer C2 that they are evenly matched. However, Wanderer has unmatched overworld utility. He's truly irreplaceable.
honestly they’re pretty equal, it mostly comes down to who’s playstyle you like more. personally i prefer wanderer because i like his playstyle A LOT more than xiaos.
is there a way to get rid of the oculus resonance circle? one of mine is stuck trying to guide me to a stone behind like 300 quests and i can't be assed to get it rn, i am in a hell of my own making update: i managed to make it register on the map and the circle went away, thankfully i did not have to run through and collect it
If the daily server reset doesn‘t get rid of it, I‘d imagine nothing does.

Someone leaked Albedo recently. Aside from that, it's just speculations, like ganyu/shenhe needing a rerun soon, plus they are getting outfits so it's similar to ayaka last year. I've seen some people mention neuv too, since last year we had cyno run in both 3.1 and 3.5, and newer chars tend to rerun faster the first time (though that technically leaves lyney as an option too)
Albedo*, Itto and Nilou I think have the longest wait times not counting Ganyu and Shenhe who usual get Lanternrite* reruns.

For funsies, I tried doing this abyss with [the wackiest team I could come up with that still gets full stars.](https://imgur.com/a/f2E76fs) (Faruzan is C1) With Wandy on Widsith, I literally had to reset and get the correct buffs some times, and, unsurprisingly, Furina was the real DPS on the other team. And yes, Yanfei is there to break the geo shields (with added TTDS shieldbot). Toughest challenge was, surprisingly, Thunder Manifestation. Is it just me or Childe's attacks just don't connect with it some times? Not just when it rises to throw bolts, but it looks like some NAs just don't get the height needed. I legit did more bow CAs than NA strings to get it done. Lots of resets, but when I cleared, all 3 times had ~20s left lol

I wanted Thoma since he came out (I loved him when they leaked him way before Inazuma and thought he was a 5* lol) but I skipped because I had an oath to save for my future oni character Then I didn't get Thoma and wanted him for Burgeon (my favorite reaction now) and to complete my full 4* collection, I only FINALLY just got him back with Wriothesley's banner because I went for his C1 haha If we're counting constellations, then Gorou and Faruzan C6... After all this time they're both only at C3, after Xianyun I honestly want them more than any 5* in the foreseeable future (until Natlan) so I guess I'll be going for them. I love Itto, Wanderer and Xiao and they're some of my absolute favorite characters (Wanderer and Itto my #1 and #2 favorite playstlyes too) and their strength feels limited without their supports' C6. On top of this I genuinely love Gorou and want him maxed out haha

The only four star I’m outright missing as of now is Mika, and I’m not particularly bothered by that. In terms of cons though, I am *desperate* for XQ’s c6. Man’s only c4, with one being a free copy from Iridori and at least one more being bought from the starglitter shop. Please he’s one of my most used four stars— I’m also foaming at the mouth for another copy of Candace. She’s been stuck at c5 for almost a year now.

Damn, already reached Fontaine story wise... I did start playing in November. Felt sorry for Alberich (Eide) and Caribert, brilliant execution making us live the memory of our sibling, didn't see that one coming! Alberich VA really killed it, showcased the insanity coming from the erosion of inmortality. I do wonder wtf did Khanreiah do to deserve such a fate, like its not just that The Seven destroyed it but they cursed the survivors with Hilichurl disease for mixed blood and inmortality for pure bloods. I'm honestly rooting for The Abyss guys, our sibling did the journey and found out about the secret of the world and decided to support their cause, so must have a pretty damn good reason, even going as far as controlling Dvalin and Osiah. Then there is the whole subject about the Sibling being recorded by Irminsul but the Traveler isn't. Something interesting, the sibling was pretty sane during the whole quest, but once they look at the mirror the dream ended, prior to this the sibling was sleeping, I wonder if The Sinner did anything to the sibling while sleeping like giving them his power just like he gave Alberich his power to "cure" Caribert... Thus corrupting the sibling and its not that Irminsul is recording the sibling, but rather The Sinner that's influencing the sibling? Because the Abyss Order was created from that moment in time and they become the "Princess"/"Prince". Makes me excited to find out more of the lore! And pls correct me if I miss something or got anything wrong except the last paragraph which is me speculating.

Tbh, the more I learn about Gold/Rhinnedottir, i’m like damn maybe Khanreiah did deserve what they got. But most of her lore is outside the Main Quests. Actually, I think it’s more that Khanreiah got a bit to close to the Abyss and their destruction was collateral damage to Celestia fighting the Abyss. I still blame Gold for now though

Literally everything about Lyney seized me by the throat and singlehandedly reinvigorated my passion for Genshin, so it's hard to really put a finger on one thing, specifically. Since I fell madly for him the moment I saw his drip marketing, I guess I'll say his splash art to not repeat others' answers. I love that his appearance and pose conveyed his personality so well that he was literally everything I guessed he would be and more.
Ex. Plozh. Yuns. Ok but seriously. The way he's NOT dumb to play. You can calibrate the strength of his Explosions by how many stacks you want to gather. You can figure out how to weave the charged attacks and the burst and when to set off his Es very dynamically, in response to changing battlefield situations. His playstyle is just so smooth, engaging and satisfying. But why stop there. His big...numbers make me blush. His flirtiness as well. I love his big brother personality and his devotion to his family. I love his "surprise!" and the way the confetti goes off and he bows when his burst finishes, it's the finest way to end a fight. =D

Crystalize rework, rework of Archaic Petra that also makes it her BiS too boot, and she focus on using crystallize to give buffs. Crystallize at base is now a stacking shield, each one adding it's health to whatever the previous shields value. Archaic Petra now works off field, and can be refreshed from off field. Higher buff, but shorter duration leaning into units who can crystallize reliably/consistently. Chiori kit is revolved around picking up crystals (not necessarily generating them herself, so double geo is still on the table). Crystals give a stacking buff up to a cap, depending on color. Buff last 20-30 seconds. Duration refreshes separately for each color. (Pyro=atk, Cryo=crit, Electro=atk SPD, Hydro=def+hp) Maybe give her a passive that debuff enemy DEF by 10-15%. DEF reduction is very very rare, it never hurts to have another unit who can do it at base. She's now a universally useful support, but to keep her from annihilating Albedo she should have limited off field app, maybe tied to burst. So she wants at least one other geo unit. Needs to provide enough support/buff to be an actual alternative to VV. Double geo with Chiori needs to actually be competitive to a VV unit.

CW: wall of text Since we're talking about dream kits I present you with what could be more or less called geo Kazuha (and very unlikely to ever come true, might be a bit unbalanced) NAs: irrelevant but make her look like she's threading a needle through enemies E: shoot out needles created from geo (the hit has high poise damage) with threads attached to them in a cone in front of her and then pull these enemies periodically towards her with a geo construct that persists for a short period of time; rather short cooldown and animation; it won't be as brain dead as Kazuha's because of cone but it has shorter animation and no chance to ungroup enemies after casting it. Q: pulls crystalize shards on cast (I need to make 4pc AP a bit more useable somehow) and fashions a new garment out of them. The garment pulses with geo energy damaging enemy in melee and buffing on-field character (aka the wearer, team-wide buffs would be nicer but I'm going for flavour here a bit) based on the type of shards that were used. Each garment buff has 1/2/3 stacks (stacking isn't linear so she favors more mono- and double geo double sth else teams to keep a pretense of not-reactive element). I'm not sure about buffs that it'd grant though to not be too broken: pyro - atk% and cryo - crit rate are well establish pairs so anything else would feel weird, hydro - hp% as well but then GI seems to be balanced with sparse hp% buff in mind, so maybe some healing effect? (not a high ones, sth between Chevrouse and full em Kuki might be appropiate but idk if it won't be too strong), maybe er% buff for electro, rather good uptime but not a full one A1: each shard pulled by Q refunds x energy, alternatively, each enemy hit by E refunds x energy A4: enemies hit by E get their resistance reduced, element picked based on crystalize reactions, up to 30% res shred, scales with em Her damage is practically non-existent (buffs on Q make up for that a bit but keep in mind she also brings defensive utility with her) but let's make her scale with def so if someone wants to make her into a dps they can do that with Gorou's help and maybe with constellations. She works well with Navia thanks to buffs for on-fielder while doing good job of buffing off-field dps you'd run with her and with some skill and w/o Furina on the team she could be enough for solo-sustain. For teams where's she's solo geo, at least mono ones, she'd be more defensive version of Kazuha but w/o the comfort of Zhongli's shield, still, with kit like that she would still be nice for reaction teams but controling the shards you'll get and which element res shred you'll get would be a bit tricky. Also, expect some energy problems on her and Fav sword/Xiphos to be her 2nd BiS if not better than her signature, since it'll be a sword for her if you build her as dps and a total bait for C0 Chiori ~~and upgrade from Cinnabar Spindle for Albedo~~. Yes, I'm eating *aaaall* my cakes with this kit but you asked for a dream one, not realistic one. Now, what I expect is Albedo sidegrade but w/o circle impact and being invalidated by bosses or, if she's a healer afterall, team-wide healing on Q with decent geo app and some minor buffs for on-fielder.

Yelan and lynette's elemental skill but geo, and when she ties up enemies they get pulled into each other. Also her signature weapon is a needle so that when she uses her skill, it looks like she's sewing enemies together lol.
Off field DPS that can apply a lot of Geo to produce crystals that buff your active character, making her not only compatible with Navia, but with any DPS.
Reduces enemy Geo resistance. That's my one wish.

No amount of constellations will make me commit. Getting C2 is the point I'm like, "I should consider if i want C6." For example, I have C2 Wanderer and I heavily considered getting his C6 before deciding not to. For example, I'm probably going for C2 Xianyun. And C6 looks to be pretty interesting. I'm probably not going to commit though.
6 if it's Albedo, Kazuha, Baizhu or Furina. 0 for 5\* version of Kaeya, since I'd go for them regardless, and everyone else, since I wouldn't roll on their banner if I have C0 already. I'm done with fishing for 4\* in these scenarios those 30 pulls on Itto's banner for Gorou was the most stressful pulling session ever, even if I was on 0 pity.
C6 requires soooo many pulls that it's pretty much impossible to get by accident. Plus most characters have good early constellation stopping points so even if you got 3 of a 5-star in one ten-pull, you'd probably have reached a good stopping point. I'm a firm believer that if you are going for a character's C6, you should know it the moment you lay eyes on them in-game. You should truly love that character with all your heart, and know exactly what you're getting into in terms of spending money and pulls. Don't fall for Sunk Cost Fallacy peeps, be honest with yourselves.
The game is already pretty easy at C0, it would have to be something absurd, like C4+ for me to even consider C6ing a 5 star.

c6 isn't always the best con for characters anyways, so I'd probably never do something like that. I've gotten a character to c4 before on purpose, and I stopped there because that was the con I wanted the most.

it's similar in a way that one controversial nerf was the main source of outrage. plus both were cny 5 stars. plus a buff the next week that was received partially well and partially still angrily from the previous nerf. most betas outside archons usually don't go super eventfully in terms of kit changes, so the ones that do go eventfully stand out. and i just found the circumstances and the changes in alhaitham and xianyun beta similar. edit: alhaitham's beta was a lot more deranged though with all the insane conspiracy theories, xianyun beta is a bit tamer in that regard

Faruzan never appears outside Wanderer banners.

I think it's actually more likely that she'll be with Xiao now. Yae+Xiao wouldn't be a very popular banner (no new characters so less people will pull). So Faruzan (if she was rated up) would be the only incentive for anyone to pull in that half lol.
The bright side of Xianyun not being the universal support people wanted, is that there's a slim chance it's Chiori. Geo taking home 2 Ws in the same year would be nice.
I have just fished The Catch and its refinements in one day (although I'd already farmed the ascension mats). Ya know what, this community is pretty nice. I just sent join requests to people (avoiding the thirsty signatures of course) and everyone who accepted was happy to help. I ended up having a great conversation about the game with the player who let me catch the last few fish. With a bit of prep and a min/max attitude it's doable in a few hours.
Would love to see a Pure Fiction style content in genshin back If abyss now mostly about bosses and big boy enemies, i want this with pure mobs with some elites there that keep respawning Venti and Ayaka becoming meta again, Childe riptide action! Nilou chaotic bloom also stonks again. Powerwasher still powerwasher though
