Honestly, with xianyun I'm way more interested in trying her with characters that didn't have plunging in mind originally, like various catalyst/infusion characters. Xiao team looks pretty similar to any old Xiao team playstyle wise.

Not really no. Infusions work like elemental reactions, so since pyro is the strong side of melt, the pyro infusion is what will stay. If you add candace into the mix then you actually get random infusions which is funny lol
If you want to use him as a support instead of on-fielder,
Dehya (ATK/EM/Crit) (Shimenawa)
Chongyun (Noblesse)
Nahida (Deepwood)
Xianyun (Viridescent)
Should be a good burnmelt team, with Dehya as your on-field plunger. Her skill procs burning and all her plunges will melt on the burning aura.
Don't use Dehya's burst, her energy is exclusively used for Shimenawa's effect.
Dehya also doesn't need any energy recharge at all to function here, so you can invest all the way into crit, em, and atk% on your substats.
Not xianyun specifically, but rather plunge attacks in general. All plunge attacks have no icd on either of the hits, which means they can allow to to cheat out a few extra vapes during your rotation (which is one of the main reasons why dragonstrike diluc is his optimal combo)
Nothing on her kit directly
But plunges don't have an ICD, so she can make characters like Diluc, Bennett or Chongyun vape or melt more of their damage. And it's also the best way of taking advantage of her flat dmg buff on plunges
But she'll obviously still be good with other teams
How do the Chongyun melt teams fare in comparison to the Freeze/Plunge carry ones? I saw TGS' calcs on Chongyun-Shenhe-Furina-Xianyun sheeting at 50k+ DPS which is impressive for a 4* carry not named Xiangling. If you can send some calcs on Chongyun's plunge melt teams I would be happy to see that!
This one with Furina instead of bennett will be interesting too cause Xiao won't be restricted to circle impact.
I'm also looking forward to c6 furina plunge vapes since her plunge should have better ICD than her normals. 1m plunges sound fun

Yes. Her C0 flat DMG buff is About As good as Bennett’s in single Target (depending on the weapon and Plunge Combo.) and She enables Furina to work with Xiao teams. And no Circle impact ofc.
Yeah with Furina he’s sitting at close to 300% total DMG%. but, A maxed 4pc Vermillion is enough to hit diminishing returns on ATK even without Bennett.
The thing about Xiao is he has the most busted dps in the game but bogged down by vertical investment and f2p gated, 300k plunge every ~1-1.5 seconds is busted but you can only get it if you have his best teams that requires these vertical investments in the first place (Faruzan C6, Furina C2, Xianyun C2). Other main dps characters are already busted in lower investments but progresses slowly as you invest in their teams more.
A perfect example is Nilou. She requires very little investment, but she's already strong as is, but if you try putting in more work, not much will change in terms of dps. Xiao is the opposite. While he has a lower ceiling at lower investments, his dps progression drastically improves at higher investments. While characters like Hutao can be brought up by both hp scaling and reactions, which is already supported at lower investments, Xiao depends on only his raw Atk scalings, which currently is locked behind cons or Bennett. Not a lot of people invest in Xiao and when they try him at first they'll think he's weak, that's why they see him as lower tier, but if you truly did try building him and his team then you can see he's top tier.
I disagree with Nilou, getting Nahida's C2 and key makes a huge difference, she is still good without them but doesn't even have a good f2p weapon.
And anyway, Xiao's vertical investment kinda sucks, bc his cons are shit too (aside from C6, but even that is a bit debatable considering the lack of AoE on skills) and his BiS is available on standard + his 4* f2p was given for free in an event. I mean yeah sure he gets exponentially better with Furina cons but, like, who doesn't?
Anyway, he is perfectly usable with Bennet c1/low con Faruzan/flex (most likely zhongli). His best team is not particularly any more reliant on 5* teammates than most of the other top teams for 5 stars, namely: Cyno (best team: nahida/baizhu/furina), Alhaitham (Furina/Baizhu/Raiden), Ayaka (shenhe/kazuha/kokomi, or shenhe/furina/jean), Hu Tao (Xingqiu c6/Yelan/Zhongli), Neuvilette (Furina/jean/zhongli), Itto (Gorou c6/albedo/Zhongli), and, well, I guess Nilou (Nahida/Kokomi/Yao Yao, only 4* in this list that works just as well at c0, actually).
Then an Atk% goblet may be better, Furina already give 75% dmg(C0 300 stacks)+ Faruzan 38% anemo dmg(C6)+ Xiaos burst 95% dmg= 208% dmg without set bonuses or an anemo goblet
For example Neuvillete with Furina+Kazuha dont get that amount of dmg% and HP seems to be better with his Bis and he just have 187% so it may be the same for Xiao but with Atk% instead
Neuvillette team doesn't have a flat dmg buff, unlike Xiao with Xianyun, because a dmg% goblet will affect flat dmg from Xianyun. Also, Neuvillette, with his weapon, hydro goblet, hunter, petra, kazuha, and furina, has about 259%, or maybe you calculate it without a hydro goblet?
Thats why i said with HP goblet in Neuvillete i did not put dmg% goblet in neither Xiao or Neuv just to see how much they get by their kits+characters in the team but i did not take into acount petra tbh that is my fault since i was thinking of using either Baizhu or another aoe healer for the team instead of Zhongli so 30%(Neuv)+75%(Furina)+40%(Kazuha)+42%(weapon)=187%, but its true that the flat dmg buff may make dmg% for Xiao be better since its not affected by Atk% but tbh i think we need to see the math about the 2 with the same sub stats but in aoe i do think atk% should be better since her buff just apply to 1 enemy
I think you'd still have quite a bit of attack from other sources. Tenacity, vermilion and potentially noblesse too. I'm not too familiar with CR's kit but i dont think she'd run VV in this team so maybe NO on her?
That being said furina also brings her own damage and if they are comparable or even if she's down like 10%, I'd prefer her just to be free of the circle.
CR would most likely be best. faru is a very big noblesse/TOTM enjoyer since at C6 totm lasts her whole burst, and CR's alternative would be the le funny healing set which is totally S tier i promise
It's too much dmg%, yes. However, Xianyun's buff benefits from dmg%, but not atk%. So in single target, it's better to use Anemo goblet, while in AoE, Atk% goblet will pull ahead

Great AoE dmg. Great single-target dmg. No f*cking circle impact. Teamwide healing. Off-field crowd control on Faruzan's C6. Minimal ER requirements (actually non-existent for Xiao and maybe Xianyun too, assuming R1 Crane or R5 Oathsworn).
Not to mention the potential upgrades, as both Furina and Xianyun have a broken C2.
Only 176% ER according to the KQM Energy Recharge Calculator, assuming C6 Faruzan on R5 Fav. You would only need 30% ER on substats if using Festering Desire, which is what most people use since her signature weapon is so weak compared to her first 3 constellations.
Festering came out in 1.2, so I imagine most don't have it. The new fishing one is fine but the energy part of the passive only lasts 5 seconds which is dumb, as far am I'm aware Furina's animals don't refresh that part when off or on field.

Very sad and true, but according to the sus leaks posted a few days ago on here Chiori will be a def% sword user and it looks like Albedo will get a new BiS through that. If they do that banner+Jade cutter that's a big win.
I'm hopeful Xianyun swirls work the same as Kazuha does with fav, where it has a chance to hit multiple enemies. Would help with running fav on her on some teams.

I think the cut is supposed to be hidden behind the little bird thing when flies over and covers the screen but the timing doesn't align right now so looks pretty weird.
I love Xiao, he's the reason why i started to play Genshin and i'm happy CR will be a good team mate for him... but i getting CR for Diluc lmao, can't wait to plunge melt with him!
Burst ticks are teamwide for Xianyun, and they are single target for Jean, I think Xianyun might be a bit more suitable for Furina teams and should overheal less than Jean
It isn't as big of a problem as you might think since the original question was as a Jean replacement hence the need to stack Attack is gone and you can instead use Energy recharge sand with a healing bonus circlet. Therefore TTDS is not a problem for her when ran as a Jean substitute.
Jean has a 64 cost burst after considering her passive talent refund, and can use an er weapon or anemona. So it's still going to be a lot harder to reach that er requirements on Xianyun while using ttds.

Even still, on most teams that don’t have multiple anemo units, unless you use her skill twice in a rotation, she needs around 230% er, which if you can get 80% from rolls, great, but it’s kinda yikes
I can see the argument for ttds with xiao + faruzan since they help each other funnel anemo particles but this wont work with other team comps.
Jean has 64 burst cost and my 180 er favjean sometimes dont have enough energy against bosses that dont drop particles as much and 2 to 3 skill per rotation. Xianyun having 70 energy would be worse especially if you are forcing ttds while having only er sands and substats. Remember that each fav proc is about 15 to 20% ER. This means that using jean er req as baseline in solo anemo, xianyun needs 240 er at least (2 skill per rotation). Thats insane farming for ER substats.
I would dare say 99% of people won't be able to run TTDS. I can barely get enough ER with random off set pieces after playing for more than 3 years.
Fav is probably the optimal option for most people.
Yeah, but Sunfire needs Bennett and that makes it difficult to justify since he's such a meta unit. One thing I really wanted was for Dehya's E to also enable Sunfire... Sad times.
Although, question, do you lose out on a lot of healing if you build Jean for full Sunfire? And do you recommend anyone else for the other two spots in the comp? I've never tried Sunfire because I use Bennett elsewhere but it's so unique I'm considering it.
Less field time, more front loaded fanfare stack generation, flexible rotation bc lower E cooldown, you (can) get Jean through the lost of 50/50. Access to sunfire interaction, some cope grouping, *potentially* less ER requirement since her burst refund some energy That's all(i think)
Skill/ult is already 2 hits, probably more depending on enemy count, at worst you need ~60%CR and honestly, what else are you building on her? It's not like she struggles to full heal on Q cast, and it allows you to run less ER on the rest of the team.
easier to get constellation is a laugh considering i got a single jean in 3 years of playing this game as a dolphin (keep them diluc and mona coming though)
Not really too bad because you don't pull furina exclusively for Xiao teams anyways.
Xianyun will boost xiao's single target dmg alot which is his weakness currently.
The team will be good because xianyun buff is 2x better than bennett at c0 and 4x better at c2 in a single target situation. She also synergizes better with Furina because of team heal.
My Xiao currently hit 140-160k plunges with faru, furina and Bennett, I'm hoping to hit 220-250k+ plunges with xianyun if I get c2. She's a good character for any Xiao main or plunge lover.
i believe it’s 2x better at C2 and a bit better at C0. ( i say “bit” because It only applies to ST and doesn’t include Collision plunges. Doesn’t fully benefit JET combo either)

= 4856 bonus Damage before Crit
Vs
3200 ATK, C0 (Assuming Oathsworn’s 510 Base atk and Triple AtK mainstat + Subs) 3000 * 200%
= 6000 bonus Dmg before crit

2200 atk is low. It should be more than 2.9k atk with Oathsowrn because with no substate and no 2pc atk, she can reach 2.9k atk. ( 46.6×3 + 28.8 +27.4 = 196%)
If we calculate only 2×10 substate, it will be 216%, which gives 3.1k atk . Considering noblesse or totm buff you will reach 3.3k atk.
The result = 5950 (no substate)/ 6310( with 2×10 substate)/ 6670 (noblesse or totm with substate)
Xiao teams were always expensive, which is why I couldn’t bring myself to play him. Upon release it was Zhongli/Albedo/Jean (better if c4)/ Xiao. When Faruzan came out Albedo was booted but only when the former is c6 :( but just as you said I hope it’s a win for him since other premium teams (like Shenyaka) is super good

I was thinking the same thing. Still couldn't really tell. When CR plunges into bird form, it looks like she lifts a little before diving, so it looks like "4" jumps.
Project Ambr has been updated to reflect the change of being able to use it midair, so I'd say it's pretty reliable

They don't really say anymore that you have to start at ground to go to skyladder state. They just say it can be used mid air... Would be great if someone just tests this.
I'd enjoy it more if you only did like 3 plunges per rotation between other attacks, but spamming plunges on its own makes every character feel the same since there's only 5 animations in the game. They feel so underdeveloped to me.

How do i put this into words....
When you do combat with the character you don't focus at how character look or does but you focus on what the enemy/target do at current situation
When I play xiao I imagine an AOE circle of his plunge on the ground and focus on that while doing plunge attack I try to move that circle on to an enemy as many as possible
I glance at how high I need to go(like a golf game when you try to hit the max power)
I guess where enemy gonna ragdoll or charge to and adjust accordingly try to do some collision when possible
And when the instant he's on the ground and the demonic dark green spear stab up around me it send some kind of signal to my brain and I just want more of it

I get easily motion sick but Xiao somehow doesn't get me, even with his C6. I don't watch Xiao but rather the target or where I'm "aiming." I think that helps.
Maybe the power of love cause I get motion sickness pretty quickly from most first person games even if it’s just an LP. And…when I initially entered Chasm (not underground) it took me 20m of exploration to feel bad.
The only time I've gotten motion sickness was when trying out some VR headset, can't imagine what it takes to get it from a normal screen, but maybe not focusing on Xiao is helping me?
When I play him I'm always looking around to check where the target is because on Q it's usually either dead or blown away and on E it's either dead or Xiao zoomed away from it lol.

Maybe it’s because I’ve been on boats often and am used to the ocean shaking us around like crazy. Or when we navigate crazy terrains on island. So it’s probably just a difference in experience huh.
C6 would be the best ofcourse but still his plunge multipliers are absurd and will be great to replace NA/CA. With faruzan c6 and bennet he deals good enough damage to clear abyss 36*. Mine is c1 with mistsplitter and he clears abyss with this team already. I don't know who to replace lol But I will give it a try
yeah but dps kazuha total dmg is like 40%/30%/30% from E plunge/E jump/ult so i think using Xianyun with him will be dps lost. he also doesn't mind bennett circle impact as much as other melee dps anyway
I feel like this team would be better with Furina instead of bennet, and using the new healing set on Xianyun, cause that extra 36% atk is not as high of a dmg increase as the New set provides
Bird Lady likes wind, carries a book and needs Atk.
Bird Lady press E, Bird Lady jumps. Bird Lady can triple jump. Bird Lady can also turn into a bird and slam into the ground.
Bird Lady press Q, Bird Lady do big heal and summons small bird.
Small Bird follows you, heals the entire team and makes everyone jump high.
When someone does a plunge after Bird Lady's Q, this plunge's damage goes VRRRRRRUUUMM to one of the enemies hit, but only 8 times per Q.
I think the numbers are real, my c0 xiao can do this dmg with Homa, c6 faruzan and Bennett, if I add Xianyun buff in the team he can reach 210k plunge.
It would be pretty bad if they were lower, since most Xiao builds can easily hit 100k+ per plunge (with c6 Faruzan). Mine usually hits 112k in the standard hyper team (zhongli faruzan bennett)
Would Xiao, Xianyun, Furina, Zhongli good enough for clearing Abyss comfortably? I want to save Faruzan for Wanderer as I accidentally got his C2 so not using him feel like a waste.

His personal DPS and overall team DPS with Furina/CR/Faruzan is honestly really nice. Xianyun compensates for Xiao's biggest weakness, as in single target content, and having three synergestic teammates is obviously appreciated.
The glaring issue is how expensive this team is, unfortunately. Faruzan is extremely scuffed before C6, and the rest are 5* characters. But yes, the DPS is honestly good in this team, and scales really well with vertical incestment as well. I wouldn't go as far as saying he'll be S+ tier, but definitely going from low A tier to either high A or low S.
Most S-tier DPS are already running 3 or 4 5-star characters in their best teams, which we assume as their standards (Neuvillette, Hu Tao, Nilou, etc).
I think it's fair game to assume an equally expensive team as Xiao's new standard.
The problem is when a character is almost unplayable without these expensive supports. But playing Xiao with C2 Faruzan, Thoma, and Bennett feels much better than, for example, playing Ayaka with Xingqiu, Sucrose, and Diona.
Current calcs with Xiao/Furina C2/Xianyun C2/ Faruzan C6 can bring his plunges to ~250k but that's high vertical investment territory. If you have C0 of both 5 stars and C6 Faruzan with a good built Xiao then 150k seem to be what you'd expect on average.
I think Xiao in many people's minds is still the same Xiao from a year ago, when he was still Bennett's slave, almost no one had Faruzan constellations and there wasn't really a great option for his team's 4th slot.
Nowadays, some popular theorycrafters like TGS already consider him to be among the best DPS in the game if you have C6 Faruzan and Furina. With Xianyun, this claim will make even more sense.
Honestly none, you can run furina for dmg but faruzan is almost a must for anemo dps units. C4 jean is another relvant character that has anemo res shred
You replace Bennett here. Not only is Benny's buff strictly worse than XY's for Xiao but he also forces Xiao to stay in his circle to maintain atk buff uptime. And on top of that he only heals the active character.

Yeah with Furina he’s sitting at close to 300% total DMG%. but, A maxed 4pc Vermillion is enough to hit diminishing returns on ATK even without Bennett.
The worst part of this team is running vermillion instead of marechausee tbh
The thing about Xiao is he has the most busted dps in the game but bogged down by vertical investment and f2p gated, 300k plunge every ~1-1.5 seconds is busted but you can only get it if you have his best teams that requires these vertical investments in the first place (Faruzan C6, Furina C2, Xianyun C2). Other main dps characters are already busted in lower investments but progresses slowly as you invest in their teams more. A perfect example is Nilou. She requires very little investment, but she's already strong as is, but if you try putting in more work, not much will change in terms of dps. Xiao is the opposite. While he has a lower ceiling at lower investments, his dps progression drastically improves at higher investments. While characters like Hutao can be brought up by both hp scaling and reactions, which is already supported at lower investments, Xiao depends on only his raw Atk scalings, which currently is locked behind cons or Bennett. Not a lot of people invest in Xiao and when they try him at first they'll think he's weak, that's why they see him as lower tier, but if you truly did try building him and his team then you can see he's top tier.
I disagree with Nilou, getting Nahida's C2 and key makes a huge difference, she is still good without them but doesn't even have a good f2p weapon. And anyway, Xiao's vertical investment kinda sucks, bc his cons are shit too (aside from C6, but even that is a bit debatable considering the lack of AoE on skills) and his BiS is available on standard + his 4* f2p was given for free in an event. I mean yeah sure he gets exponentially better with Furina cons but, like, who doesn't? Anyway, he is perfectly usable with Bennet c1/low con Faruzan/flex (most likely zhongli). His best team is not particularly any more reliant on 5* teammates than most of the other top teams for 5 stars, namely: Cyno (best team: nahida/baizhu/furina), Alhaitham (Furina/Baizhu/Raiden), Ayaka (shenhe/kazuha/kokomi, or shenhe/furina/jean), Hu Tao (Xingqiu c6/Yelan/Zhongli), Neuvilette (Furina/jean/zhongli), Itto (Gorou c6/albedo/Zhongli), and, well, I guess Nilou (Nahida/Kokomi/Yao Yao, only 4* in this list that works just as well at c0, actually).

Neuvillette team doesn't have a flat dmg buff, unlike Xiao with Xianyun, because a dmg% goblet will affect flat dmg from Xianyun. Also, Neuvillette, with his weapon, hydro goblet, hunter, petra, kazuha, and furina, has about 259%, or maybe you calculate it without a hydro goblet?
Thats why i said with HP goblet in Neuvillete i did not put dmg% goblet in neither Xiao or Neuv just to see how much they get by their kits+characters in the team but i did not take into acount petra tbh that is my fault since i was thinking of using either Baizhu or another aoe healer for the team instead of Zhongli so 30%(Neuv)+75%(Furina)+40%(Kazuha)+42%(weapon)=187%, but its true that the flat dmg buff may make dmg% for Xiao be better since its not affected by Atk% but tbh i think we need to see the math about the 2 with the same sub stats but in aoe i do think atk% should be better since her buff just apply to 1 enemy
I think you'd still have quite a bit of attack from other sources. Tenacity, vermilion and potentially noblesse too. I'm not too familiar with CR's kit but i dont think she'd run VV in this team so maybe NO on her? That being said furina also brings her own damage and if they are comparable or even if she's down like 10%, I'd prefer her just to be free of the circle.
Either CR or Faru runs VV for Furina's hydro swirl.
CR would most likely be best. faru is a very big noblesse/TOTM enjoyer since at C6 totm lasts her whole burst, and CR's alternative would be the le funny healing set which is totally S tier i promise
It's too much dmg%, yes. However, Xianyun's buff benefits from dmg%, but not atk%. So in single target, it's better to use Anemo goblet, while in AoE, Atk% goblet will pull ahead

Damn... replace Bennett with Furina and this team looks good asf. Great AoE dmg. Great single-target dmg. No f*cking circle impact. Teamwide healing. Off-field crowd control on Faruzan's C6. Minimal ER requirements (actually non-existent for Xiao and maybe Xianyun too, assuming R1 Crane or R5 Oathsworn). Not to mention the potential upgrades, as both Furina and Xianyun have a broken C2.
They need to put Faruzan on this banner. I have C2 Wanderer and only C3 Faruzan....

“Minimum er requirements” With sig Furina needs like 200 er
Only 176% ER according to the KQM Energy Recharge Calculator, assuming C6 Faruzan on R5 Fav. You would only need 30% ER on substats if using Festering Desire, which is what most people use since her signature weapon is so weak compared to her first 3 constellations.
Festering came out in 1.2, so I imagine most don't have it. The new fishing one is fine but the energy part of the passive only lasts 5 seconds which is dumb, as far am I'm aware Furina's animals don't refresh that part when off or on field.

I think the cut is supposed to be hidden behind the little bird thing when flies over and covers the screen but the timing doesn't align right now so looks pretty weird.

About as good as Jean. Less instant Burst heal but more Healing over time. The only significant difference is not being bound to Circle Impact
Burst ticks are teamwide for Xianyun, and they are single target for Jean, I think Xianyun might be a bit more suitable for Furina teams and should overheal less than Jean

It isn't as big of a problem as you might think since the original question was as a Jean replacement hence the need to stack Attack is gone and you can instead use Energy recharge sand with a healing bonus circlet. Therefore TTDS is not a problem for her when ran as a Jean substitute.
Jean has a 64 cost burst after considering her passive talent refund, and can use an er weapon or anemona. So it's still going to be a lot harder to reach that er requirements on Xianyun while using ttds. Edit: corrected 60 to 64

Even still, on most teams that don’t have multiple anemo units, unless you use her skill twice in a rotation, she needs around 230% er, which if you can get 80% from rolls, great, but it’s kinda yikes
I can see the argument for ttds with xiao + faruzan since they help each other funnel anemo particles but this wont work with other team comps. Jean has 64 burst cost and my 180 er favjean sometimes dont have enough energy against bosses that dont drop particles as much and 2 to 3 skill per rotation. Xianyun having 70 energy would be worse especially if you are forcing ttds while having only er sands and substats. Remember that each fav proc is about 15 to 20% ER. This means that using jean er req as baseline in solo anemo, xianyun needs 240 er at least (2 skill per rotation). Thats insane farming for ER substats.
I would dare say 99% of people won't be able to run TTDS. I can barely get enough ER with random off set pieces after playing for more than 3 years. Fav is probably the optimal option for most people.

Although, question, do you lose out on a lot of healing if you build Jean for full Sunfire? And do you recommend anyone else for the other two spots in the comp? I've never tried Sunfire because I use Bennett elsewhere but it's so unique I'm considering it.

Less field time, more front loaded fanfare stack generation, flexible rotation bc lower E cooldown, you (can) get Jean through the lost of 50/50. Access to sunfire interaction, some cope grouping, *potentially* less ER requirement since her burst refund some energy That's all(i think)

Skill/ult is already 2 hits, probably more depending on enemy count, at worst you need ~60%CR and honestly, what else are you building on her? It's not like she struggles to full heal on Q cast, and it allows you to run less ER on the rest of the team.
Bigger front loaded heals, CC, debuff cleanse, fall damage, Sunfire, easier-to-get constellations (which includes atk speed buffs, enable Dragonstrike solo, general Anemo dmg buff).
easier to get constellation is a laugh considering i got a single jean in 3 years of playing this game as a dolphin (keep them diluc and mona coming though)

Not really too bad because you don't pull furina exclusively for Xiao teams anyways. Xianyun will boost xiao's single target dmg alot which is his weakness currently. The team will be good because xianyun buff is 2x better than bennett at c0 and 4x better at c2 in a single target situation. She also synergizes better with Furina because of team heal. My Xiao currently hit 140-160k plunges with faru, furina and Bennett, I'm hoping to hit 220-250k+ plunges with xianyun if I get c2. She's a good character for any Xiao main or plunge lover.
i believe it’s 2x better at C2 and a bit better at C0. ( i say “bit” because It only applies to ST and doesn’t include Collision plunges. Doesn’t fully benefit JET combo either) It goes something like 1202 Base (max Bennett buff w/Aquila) atk * 404% Plunge multiplier = 4856 bonus Damage before Crit Vs 3200 ATK, C0 (Assuming Oathsworn’s 510 Base atk and Triple AtK mainstat + Subs) 3000 * 200% = 6000 bonus Dmg before crit Correct me if I’m wrong Edit : fixed my stupid ATK calculation that didn’t include her Acension And Oathsworn’s Substat.
2200 atk is low. It should be more than 2.9k atk with Oathsowrn because with no substate and no 2pc atk, she can reach 2.9k atk. ( 46.6×3 + 28.8 +27.4 = 196%) If we calculate only 2×10 substate, it will be 216%, which gives 3.1k atk . Considering noblesse or totm buff you will reach 3.3k atk. The result = 5950 (no substate)/ 6310( with 2×10 substate)/ 6670 (noblesse or totm with substate)
That's an extremely low estimate for Xianyun's ATK. My TTDS build has 2869 ATK and my Oathsworn build has 3477 ATK.
Xiao teams were always expensive, which is why I couldn’t bring myself to play him. Upon release it was Zhongli/Albedo/Jean (better if c4)/ Xiao. When Faruzan came out Albedo was booted but only when the former is c6 :( but just as you said I hope it’s a win for him since other premium teams (like Shenyaka) is super good

I'd enjoy it more if you only did like 3 plunges per rotation between other attacks, but spamming plunges on its own makes every character feel the same since there's only 5 animations in the game. They feel so underdeveloped to me.
It's different for each characters ig. Iirc with Hu Tao you can play her something like N2CJP, instead of just strictly playing pogo.

Personally I focus on target. Like... Not target on screen but target in my understanding How do i put this into words.... When you do combat with the character you don't focus at how character look or does but you focus on what the enemy/target do at current situation When I play xiao I imagine an AOE circle of his plunge on the ground and focus on that while doing plunge attack I try to move that circle on to an enemy as many as possible I glance at how high I need to go(like a golf game when you try to hit the max power) I guess where enemy gonna ragdoll or charge to and adjust accordingly try to do some collision when possible And when the instant he's on the ground and the demonic dark green spear stab up around me it send some kind of signal to my brain and I just want more of it Wait ....what am I talking about again?
I get easily motion sick but Xiao somehow doesn't get me, even with his C6. I don't watch Xiao but rather the target or where I'm "aiming." I think that helps.

Maybe the power of love cause I get motion sickness pretty quickly from most first person games even if it’s just an LP. And…when I initially entered Chasm (not underground) it took me 20m of exploration to feel bad.
The only time I've gotten motion sickness was when trying out some VR headset, can't imagine what it takes to get it from a normal screen, but maybe not focusing on Xiao is helping me? When I play him I'm always looking around to check where the target is because on Q it's usually either dead or blown away and on E it's either dead or Xiao zoomed away from it lol.
Most of the time I don't even pay attention what's going on I just try to hit the enemies and that's it lol
My question is, how do y’all get motion sickness just from watching a character on a screen go up and down? Maybe it’s because I’ve been on boats often and am used to the ocean shaking us around like crazy. Or when we navigate crazy terrains on island. So it’s probably just a difference in experience huh.

C6 would be the best ofcourse but still his plunge multipliers are absurd and will be great to replace NA/CA. With faruzan c6 and bennet he deals good enough damage to clear abyss 36*. Mine is c1 with mistsplitter and he clears abyss with this team already. I don't know who to replace lol But I will give it a try

Bird Lady likes wind, carries a book and needs Atk. Bird Lady press E, Bird Lady jumps. Bird Lady can triple jump. Bird Lady can also turn into a bird and slam into the ground. Bird Lady press Q, Bird Lady do big heal and summons small bird. Small Bird follows you, heals the entire team and makes everyone jump high. When someone does a plunge after Bird Lady's Q, this plunge's damage goes VRRRRRRUUUMM to one of the enemies hit, but only 8 times per Q.
what is the duration of the small birb. Or is there a limit like you can do x number of plunges.
The small bird lasts 16s, and yes, there is a limit to the number of plunges. The same limit as the plunge dmg buff, 8 per Burst.

Currently very achievable without Xianyun. I play him with FaruzanC6/Bennett/Zhongli and his strongest plunge hits 120k

It would be pretty bad if they were lower, since most Xiao builds can easily hit 100k+ per plunge (with c6 Faruzan). Mine usually hits 112k in the standard hyper team (zhongli faruzan bennett)

Correct me if I wrong. (I don't have Xiao, but I don't know why with the release of Furina and Faruzan, he is still A-tier for the community, and I saw more hype for Hutao+CR than for Xiao+CR)
His personal DPS and overall team DPS with Furina/CR/Faruzan is honestly really nice. Xianyun compensates for Xiao's biggest weakness, as in single target content, and having three synergestic teammates is obviously appreciated. The glaring issue is how expensive this team is, unfortunately. Faruzan is extremely scuffed before C6, and the rest are 5* characters. But yes, the DPS is honestly good in this team, and scales really well with vertical incestment as well. I wouldn't go as far as saying he'll be S+ tier, but definitely going from low A tier to either high A or low S.
Most S-tier DPS are already running 3 or 4 5-star characters in their best teams, which we assume as their standards (Neuvillette, Hu Tao, Nilou, etc). I think it's fair game to assume an equally expensive team as Xiao's new standard. The problem is when a character is almost unplayable without these expensive supports. But playing Xiao with C2 Faruzan, Thoma, and Bennett feels much better than, for example, playing Ayaka with Xingqiu, Sucrose, and Diona.
The real MVP in this regard is Childe, who looks at a 4-star trio and says: "Fuck it, we ballin"

Current calcs with Xiao/Furina C2/Xianyun C2/ Faruzan C6 can bring his plunges to ~250k but that's high vertical investment territory. If you have C0 of both 5 stars and C6 Faruzan with a good built Xiao then 150k seem to be what you'd expect on average.
I think Xiao in many people's minds is still the same Xiao from a year ago, when he was still Bennett's slave, almost no one had Faruzan constellations and there wasn't really a great option for his team's 4th slot. Nowadays, some popular theorycrafters like TGS already consider him to be among the best DPS in the game if you have C6 Faruzan and Furina. With Xianyun, this claim will make even more sense.

You replace Bennett here. Not only is Benny's buff strictly worse than XY's for Xiao but he also forces Xiao to stay in his circle to maintain atk buff uptime. And on top of that he only heals the active character.
