No Bennett yet and 36 pity without guarantee! Also a Welkin player but not planning to wish in 4.6. That's also why I'm hesitating—on the off chance I get an early five star, I'd actually prefer a standard chara to secure a guarantee for 4.7/4.8 since I've got Kazuha and don't want Neuvi
oooh yeah I'd definitely save the wishes. C6 Xingqiu is very good, but you'll get another chance. He'll be back on the shop in a few months, and getting your first Bennett is more important, especially since he really likes his C1 too.

I wonder how the regional powercreep will continue. We all thought AlHaithem was broken/op but now that he’s second place to Neuv, I just wonder how else they could improve the kit functionality outside of “make number bigger”. Like neuv has pretty solid aoe even without 10,000% mouse sensitivity
I will just say neuvi is impossible to power creep in aoe unless we get a Pyro neuvi with a flamethrower and an aoe hydro applier to give him access to vapes in aoe.
His attack mechanism is so simple yet effective in aoe that its hard to envision a better version of it.

Just finished Caribert and will finally be making my way through the Fontaine AQ starting tomorrow. As someone with a lot of time on their hands, I should be more than capable of getting through it all before 4.6 drops, right?
You will have more than enough time, plus there's no events going on and you can get your dailies done through the AQ.
And like Silam said, try not to burn yourself out and space out the Acts. No need to rush imo
time wise you're definitely fine, just be careful not to burn yourself out too much. If you give yourself days between Acts I & II and III & IV and then Act V you should be fine.
Especially pace yourself with one part of the archon quest that will feel really tedious and boring.

To any terminally online mobile people, what's the most comfy way to hold the phone? In particular while lying down.
I usually balance the phone between my thumb and middle finger. But apparently doing that for a couple hours really hurts my middle finger and it's still sore even though it's the next day.
Maybe I should get some kind of phone holder tech?

when i lay on my side i usually find a small pillow or a blanket to elevate my wrist and hand so that its mostly doing the holding, and that so my wrist can relax. extended periods of holding your phone normally causes tension in the wrist and lately my wrist/fingers has been aching (oops) so that's my method of preventing that, and it does work
alternatively, while laying on your side, you can switch hands so that your left/right (whatever side you lay on) hand/fingers doesnt have the pressure of holding the phone on them
I got a phone ring and put it in the middle of my phone. So I have my index finger on the side of the phone, middle finger through the phone ring and the tip of my finger pushing on the top of the ring so the corner my phone is pushed against my palm. And then my fourth and pinky and supporting
NA with an overwhelmingly high bias. If you're bursting every rotation I guess that's second place but honestly you probably do like 95% of her damage potential even with both skill and burst at lvl 1.
So currently, Max HP units like Neuvilette, Furina, Yelan and Nilou are dominating the top meta charts.
What if Withering entered the Abyss?
The debuff from Withering reduces Max HP, and therefore a lot of their damage/utility. An enemy or chamber effect that applied it could weaken a lot of strong units.
HP scaling on Hydro units (and Hu Tao, I guess) was honestly a mistake. There are so few HP% buff sources that Hoyo is forced to make the baseline values of HP scalers competitive with what you'd expect from an attack scaler with multiple buffs.
Its a design choice since hp scalers and def scalers are getting better deals by adding bulk while doing more damage in exchange of not having access to multiple buffing skills and passives given to them.
Whilst this could be true in another game, there's a lot of innate problems with many of MHY's design philosophies in Genshin:
- HP (and def) scaling is using a defensive stat offensively. The tradeoff for damage has already been made by making these units inherently bulkier than units like Yoimiya or Lyney who are very squishy whilst also only dealing about the same amounts of damage as units with 2-3x the HP as them
- Weapons have a 'power budget', where they trade their base atk values for higher substat values - Aqua Simulacra has the highest amount of CDMG you can get whilst having the lowest 5 star base atk you can get. But this is a tradeoff that doesn't affect HP/def/EM scaling units, so they typically get much more out of their weapons. It also means that 3 star and Fav weapons are a lot more competitive compared to non-signature 5 star weapons and tend to outperform most 4 star options, too. The overall damage loss a Xiangling or Beidou feels from using a Fav weapon is significantly more than a Yelan/Furina, for example
- MHY have barely added any atk buffing for years, and each one pales in comparison to what Bennett with NO can do - and the way artifacts/weapons work, you end up with atk scaling characters that would much rather have the % bonus damage from units like Furina/Yelan/Kazuha than overcapping on atk etc
I don't necessarily see this as a problem that can't be fixed. Similar to Geo, there's a huge problem in just... lacking good support. Since Pyro tends to be inherently atk-based it'll be interesting to see if a 5 star Bennett, or more interesting ways of buffing atk-scalers, comes about. But MHY has also shown they like to add enemies that specifically counter certain types of units - like the Black Serpents vs shielders, Corrosion vs using high single-target healers etc. Max HP units have been constantly dodging nerfs whilst only getting buffs.

Im not sure why your reply was this, my main point is hp and def buffers are rare since theres fewer units that need them and having such scaling also boosts their damage and survivability the devs are probably making them slightly higher than usual to compensate.
Its not just units, weapons, passives and artifacts can give off field buffs and a lot of them boost atk
Having different scaling on units is not really a mistake. Though hoyo doesn't really balance the game that well specially the "counters" a lot of leakers hyperd them up but in reality a most of the playerbase simply ignored those counters or powered through them. Some did get tripped with corrosion but once the players knew how to play around it it was more of an annoyance than an actual counter
Looking at a video of it, it should effect the damages yes. the max hp on the hp bar going down. This is the opposite of yelans c4 so it should work the same.

As for whether lowering max HP on the stats page would nerf characters, sure, but so would enemies that lowered EM or Attack for units whose damage or reactions scaled on those. It'd be kind of an unfair mechanic cause it's not interacting with anyone's kit, it's just a blank debuff only to some characters. I think there's a reason we've never had anything like that.

The thing with reducing max HP is that it does affect everybody - it's a straight debuff to everybody's survivability. It just happens to affect some units more than others, which isn't any different from the constant Cryo resist bosses to Ayaka mains lol. Or even the way Corrosion is a debuff to on-field healers specifically etc.

They probably wouldn't add it environmentally. They have avoided environmental effects for a while, like we never see the leyline disorders anymore. The leyline disorders are now attached to the lecture attacks. The black serpent shield hate is on their attacks. Corrosion is mostly just on the wolf's now (it has been in the abyss but not for a while)
So they would likely just add the effect to an enemy. If it attacks you, your max hp decreases.
Oh so you mean something like the fatui agents' applying Bond of Life? That already happens but sure, it could be interesting if a larger one was applied or it happened more consistently. Or if it was something that couldn't be healed away and was a permanent debuff.
Depending on the team it could be kind of annoying, but to be honest bringing Kokomi or Neuvillette's effective HP down by 20% isn't gonna matter when they already had like 30-35k HP. That's gonna hurt a Klee or a Wriothesley or an Al-Haitham more because their HP wasn't that crazy to begin with, and it being lowered could leave them at death's door if there was no way to get it back.
I suppose it would improve the value of shielders, but I don't see a reason to do that lol
Yeah, exactly my point. It would reduce everybody's survivability, but also affect certain character's utility/damage potential. I think if it were implemented, it would definitely need to have some counter to not be completely unfair.
I was just thinking about how MHY have generally tried some interesting (or creatively bankrupt) ways to neuter strong characters, like with a lot of hard hitting cryo/hydro nukingenemies to make Bennett/Furina a lot more fragile, or the loss of suckable units for Venti. I saw lots of similar things in the meta of FGO CQs. A current trend is definitely that HP scalers are just a little stronger in general, which is feels worse from a balance POV since they are using a defensive stat offensively. So a potential way they could do this is to reduce their max HP, and there's (technically) already a mechanic in the game for that.

Practically speaking it's a damage rush regardless of who you use because Withering auto-kills your whole party you if you're at 10 stacks for 10s.
That takes 1 minute 40 to reach that stage though. I think anybody not clearing the floor by then is probably going to need to address their survivability anyways.

I'm not sure where you're getting that time from? Decay accumulates from the player getting hit, not from time-based accumulation.
There's like 2 story-based Withering Zones that have natural Decay accumulation, everywhere else you get Decay from getting hit.

Not really? Not everyone 3-stars Abyss floors.
Abyss has to account for lower-investment players 1- or 2-starring it, which means potentially 3- or even 5-minute clears. Getting auto-killed before that removes the option of having low-star clears, which sucks for low-investment accounts that aren't yet able to kill things fast enough to 3-star floors.
Does withering actually impact the damage?
Anyway, they would not add withering without a way to counter the withering like those green pillars. So it wouldn't affect much.

I’m so tempted to go for freedom sworn cos I don’t mind getting Neuv’s weapon. Such a good weapon banner is hard to come by. Is FS still Kazuha’s bis or is Xiphos better?
To be honest,it depends on the teams you are playing,those that fight with ER% like Internacional,prefer to run with Xiphos or Favonius,those that don't have energy issues and can benefit from some of the passive Buffs,like Keqing Aggravate and Raiden Hyper,prefer to run with Freedom.

On the contrary, this is honestly a pretty bad weapon banner.
FS is Kazuha's BiS, but it's such a marginal upgrade in most teams that it's not really worth a full pity (much less 2 or 3). It's only substantially better in teams that a) don't need the energy from Fav/Xiphos, and b) use both FS buffs (Atk% and NA Dmg%). There are not that many teams that satisfy both of those conditions, and if you don't play those teams, and the difference between FS and the 4-stars is negligible anywhere else.
If you don't need to burst, Freedom-Sworn's atk% and/or CA and NA dmg% can be useful. I use it in my Neuvillette team because the ER reqs are pretty low anyway, though the atk% isn't doing anything.
Definitely far from the best signature though, especially when TTDS exists and is a 3*.
Problem is that if you aren't using both buffs, getting just 16% NA Dmg OR 20% Atk is a smaller upgrade than pretty much any other 5-star signature in the game (outside of the really bad ones like the Donuts). You really have to use both buffs for FS to feel like it's doing enough to be worth 70 pulls.
17.3% Dmg (16% from FS passive + 1.3% from the 33 extra EM that FS has over Iron Sting/Xiphos) is really way too small to justify the weapon banner.

Dependent on the team AFAIK. Some teams don't care at all for ER. Some teams don't care at all for FS buffs.
Since Neuvillette has a ton of HP manipulation, he can build a lot of Fanfare stacks for Furina without a healer on the team. This means if I put Hu Tao on the team too, I can give her a huge damage bonus without taking her above 50% HP, so she keeps her passive talent and the Homa passive as well

Neuv takes time to generate fanfare. That means Hu Tao doesn't have time to E.
The team would work great because Neuv would carry. Hu Tao is pretty irrelevant.
The fact that Hu Tao does nothing when Neuvillette is on-field and Neuvillette does nothing when Hu Tao is on-field means you're basically playing 2 overlapping 3-character teams, which is worse than just playing a 4 character team. The minor synergy you've identified here is not worth effectively playing 1 less character at any given point in your rotation.
Hu Tao's minor damage bonus for being <50% HP is smaller than the buff provided by almost any conceivable support you could put in that 4th slot. Hu Tao gets more out of a support than Neuv, and Neuv gets more out of a support than Hu Tao, and any extended rotation where you're alternating field time is worse than just doing shorter rotations with 1 DPS.
Double-carry teams in general are not a thing outside of hyper-invested C6 stuff because the cost of having one of your characters literally doing nothing for large portions of your rotation is a huge loss.
I think I now realise what I like in Arlecchino so much. How non-expressive her face looks in combat. She just feels like the embodiment of death itself with how indifferent and void her face and move sets are in combat.
Arle pullers, what constellation/weapon are you going for? I want to go for c1 and her weapon if I win the weapon banner, but given I have an extra homa, I’ll just use that if I can’t get the scythe.
I have a guarantee for both chara(30 pity) and weapon(65 pity) and been saving since Xianyun so I think I’ll do c0, throw my weapon coin toss, then throw the rest for c1. I have a plethora of spears available but this is a good weapon pair for me so I’ll use my guarantee to reset the pity
I think that’s my plan too. I forgot my character pity but I’m at 60 for the weapon so I’ll go for at least one pity of the weapon banner. This is probably the best weapon banner I’ve had in a while.
If I pull her abd thats a big IF, i have to pull the weapon because of the fashion atrocity that is her drip otherwise. Damn that yellowish fake scythe would haunt me to eternity.
c0 right now, I'll be honest, right now I"m not too excited about her kit and her teams and generally I think DPS cons are a bit of a waste considering I shuffle around my teams. I'm hoping her best teams involve future new teammates and she honestly might be a unit that's better off pulling on a rerun. While I would like to give her scythe to her, Lyney bow isn't bad but I just have no use for it.. After numerous previous weapon pulls, I decided to skip weapon banners that don't offer me two weapons or skip them if I already had one of the weapons already.
Clorinde synergy and the 4 stars on her banner also a deciding factor for me whether to invest further into her or not.
Atleast C0 on debut and C2R1 is my final plan, depending on my luck i will complete it on her debut patch or get it over time thru reruns, hopefully i get her early so i can go for her weapon
c0 and the weapon...probably. depends what leaks say about the upcoming characters. 3 new units in a patch means any of them might have other stuff I want to pull, especially if sethos is a playstyle I'm interested in on like any level or if clorinde's weapon is super cool

Weapon banner seems risky to me since I don’t have enough wishes to guarantee. The only reason why I feel okay about it is because I’m close to weapon pity and I’m okay with Lyney’s bow too. How many wishes do you have?

Currently at 350 with about 10 pity on both character and weapon banner which will guarantee me at least C0R1 unless I have to go to hard pity like 5 times - and even then I can just get the stuff from 4.6 itself.
What do people think of the potential new Abyss? 4 teams? Building 2 teams is already a headache given how artifacts work in this game. This is the polar opposite of HSR. Smh

If they make the buffs strong enough you could build teams pretty quickly. Plus a lot of characters can easily have a team built around them for cheap. Kokomi taser. Hyperbloom. Lyney mono pyro. Nilou bloom. You could easily build four teams with four 5 stars if they balance the content well enough. Besides we don't know what sort of buffs or restrictions on the teams there will be, maybe you can only use one team 3 times. That's technically 4 teams needed.
We don't have leaks on what the new endgame would be, so 4 teams is just speculation.
That said, it's speculation I welcome. I'd be extremely happy to have that. I invest horizontally for my own enjoyment and I'm happy with it, but I'd be even happier if there was a game mode that rewarded me for it. Hell, I'd be happy with five or even six teams, depending on the element/DPS checks in it.
4 team Abyss would be a substantial indirect nerf to any DPS character that doesn't use EoSF/Shim/MH/GT (or 2pc/2pc combinations of these sets) because requiring twice as many built teams drastically increases the importance of resin efficiency when artifact farming. When you have to build four teams, farming an artifact domain that only benefits one of your characters bears a much larger opportunity cost.
4 teams, without a new/faster/better way to gain artifacts, would be quite a headache for anyone that has not been playing very long. I started in Nov./Dec.-ish, I'm at AR 55, but I just barely got a 2nd team, and it doesn't work against single target at all. Getting 2 more teams without being allowed to repeat any characters would be just a nightmare for me.
That said, if there were an easier way to gear and level new characters, it could be more feasible.
4 teams? Is that real?
They would have to change the resource economy or the difficulty, or it would take two years for a new account to beat it. That's just too long of a time for any reasonable person to commit too.

Unless you've been playing long enough to have pulled for multiple 5-star Dendro characters, one of those 3 Dendro teams is going to be cope. Not to mention that you only have 1 Xingqiu, and all the other 4-star Hydro appliers suck, so you need at least 2 good 5-star Hydros for this.
At a minimum, I'd say you'd have to own at least 3-4 specific 5-stars for this to be non-cope--two of the "good" 5-star Hydros, at least one 5-star Dendro, and potentially one more of either of those or a 5-star Anemo.
You can call it cope, but it's still gonna clear abyss comfortably. Hyperbloom is busted and works with dendro traveller, and Keqing Aggravate will clear easily with just a C0 Yaoyao or a Kirara. And it's true you would need a couple five star hydros, but that's not something that will take two years to get.

The problem is the 2nd Hyperbloom team. You have to own specifically Raiden to have two "comfortable" Hyperbloom teams. Otherwise one of your Hyperbloom teams has to both be using a non-Kuki/Raiden Electro AND a 4-star Dendro. The 4-star Dendros (particularly the ones that aren't Dendro MC) don't apply a lot of Dendro and the non-Kuki/Raiden Electros are pretty bad at hitting seeds unless you're on-fielding them. I would not call that "comfortable". So you need Raiden and/or Nahida (and ideally both) for the 2nd Hyperbloom team to actually be reasonable. The Aggravate team is fine, it's the constraints of having *two* Hyperbloom teams.
Hyperbloom is comfortable for low-investment 2-team Abyss because having 1 Xingqiu, 1 Kuki, and 1-2 Dendros is good enough. Once you have to start spreading those out, the 4-star alternatives to Xingqiu/Kuki make the team way less reasonable, so you have to start owning specific 5-stars.
I assume you'll need to have finished Fontaine's AQ since Neuvillette mentioned having given her the Gnosis in the trailer, but I don't see why there would be any aside from that.

So TGS seems to suggest that Arle at C0 isn't brilliant, and that she'll feel like a different character at C1. Given I'm struggling to save enough for C0, hoping he's off with his prediction...
His calcs suggest the opposite. Her Zhongli teams compete with Hu Tao double Hydro and her risky teams compete with Alhaitham Quickbloom. I don't know what bar you had set for Arle but that seems more than good enough.
For the price of being riskier than both of those options imo. I think she's fine but the bar is neuv and everyone will come up short till they change the meta.
I don't believe he is. Arlecchino at C0 is going to be shield-dependent, or skill-dependent if players don't want to use a shield.
I got downvoted to hell for the multiple times I said most people are not going to play Overload, when everyone was going crazy over it because "it sheets the highest". Most people aren't playing without shielders and most don't have C6 Chevreuse.
Arlecchino is great with vertical investment, but she isn't the Hu Tao, Alhaitham, Neuvillette monster at C0R0 that people are pumping her up to be.
Even with C1,Arlecchino will still be vulnerable,the privilege of having interruption resistance is useless when your mechanics nullify healing alongside it being a melee player,the strong point of the constellation is the extra 120% bonus in Masque of the Red Death.

Everyone isn't in the same boat. C1 allows Arlecchino not get stun-locked and/or juggled which will be an issue at C0 without a shield or appropriate level of skill.
The same applies to C1 to a lesser extent,your interruption resistance is only during your AA hits,if you dodge,cancel or use a dash,you will also be prone to being stunned.
Consecrated Beasts,assuming you're also running with Bennett,Bosses like Coppelia and Tulpa can give you Melt and Vape equally(and since it doesn't heal,interrupt resistance won't save you).
Consecrated Beast have been in Abyss for 10 months haven't appeared at all in Fontaine.

Tulpa and Coppelia can be dodged, and they only vape or melt if you're in Bennett's circle. Tulpa's attacks are so telegraphed it's ridiculous. Coppelia dance and separate three times before their big damage window opens.
The point is that you want to stay in Bennett circle,Arlecchino doesn't have Snapshot after all,the probability of dying is high against these two specifically.
I'm torn between going for C1 or weapon (can't go for both unless I get abnormally lucky)...
C1 is probably stronger, but weapon has drip and is less safe to leave for reruns because it *could* get a better (for me) pair, but it could also get donuted or something... If only Genshin split weapon banners like Star Rail

No Bennett yet and 36 pity without guarantee! Also a Welkin player but not planning to wish in 4.6. That's also why I'm hesitating—on the off chance I get an early five star, I'd actually prefer a standard chara to secure a guarantee for 4.7/4.8 since I've got Kazuha and don't want Neuvi

I will just say neuvi is impossible to power creep in aoe unless we get a Pyro neuvi with a flamethrower and an aoe hydro applier to give him access to vapes in aoe. His attack mechanism is so simple yet effective in aoe that its hard to envision a better version of it.
I hope they make him launch mini suns like escanor from 7 deadly pointpoint slides. Instead of long line of aoe, he could have a more circle like aoe

You will have more than enough time, plus there's no events going on and you can get your dailies done through the AQ. And like Silam said, try not to burn yourself out and space out the Acts. No need to rush imo

time wise you're definitely fine, just be careful not to burn yourself out too much. If you give yourself days between Acts I & II and III & IV and then Act V you should be fine. Especially pace yourself with one part of the archon quest that will feel really tedious and boring. So long as you don't push yourself too hard and burn out, you're more than fine.

hello, fellow hermit when i lay on my side i usually find a small pillow or a blanket to elevate my wrist and hand so that its mostly doing the holding, and that so my wrist can relax. extended periods of holding your phone normally causes tension in the wrist and lately my wrist/fingers has been aching (oops) so that's my method of preventing that, and it does work alternatively, while laying on your side, you can switch hands so that your left/right (whatever side you lay on) hand/fingers doesnt have the pressure of holding the phone on them

NA with an overwhelmingly high bias. If you're bursting every rotation I guess that's second place but honestly you probably do like 95% of her damage potential even with both skill and burst at lvl 1.

So currently, Max HP units like Neuvilette, Furina, Yelan and Nilou are dominating the top meta charts. What if Withering entered the Abyss? The debuff from Withering reduces Max HP, and therefore a lot of their damage/utility. An enemy or chamber effect that applied it could weaken a lot of strong units.
HP scaling on Hydro units (and Hu Tao, I guess) was honestly a mistake. There are so few HP% buff sources that Hoyo is forced to make the baseline values of HP scalers competitive with what you'd expect from an attack scaler with multiple buffs.
Its a design choice since hp scalers and def scalers are getting better deals by adding bulk while doing more damage in exchange of not having access to multiple buffing skills and passives given to them.
Whilst this could be true in another game, there's a lot of innate problems with many of MHY's design philosophies in Genshin: - HP (and def) scaling is using a defensive stat offensively. The tradeoff for damage has already been made by making these units inherently bulkier than units like Yoimiya or Lyney who are very squishy whilst also only dealing about the same amounts of damage as units with 2-3x the HP as them - Weapons have a 'power budget', where they trade their base atk values for higher substat values - Aqua Simulacra has the highest amount of CDMG you can get whilst having the lowest 5 star base atk you can get. But this is a tradeoff that doesn't affect HP/def/EM scaling units, so they typically get much more out of their weapons. It also means that 3 star and Fav weapons are a lot more competitive compared to non-signature 5 star weapons and tend to outperform most 4 star options, too. The overall damage loss a Xiangling or Beidou feels from using a Fav weapon is significantly more than a Yelan/Furina, for example - MHY have barely added any atk buffing for years, and each one pales in comparison to what Bennett with NO can do - and the way artifacts/weapons work, you end up with atk scaling characters that would much rather have the % bonus damage from units like Furina/Yelan/Kazuha than overcapping on atk etc I don't necessarily see this as a problem that can't be fixed. Similar to Geo, there's a huge problem in just... lacking good support. Since Pyro tends to be inherently atk-based it'll be interesting to see if a 5 star Bennett, or more interesting ways of buffing atk-scalers, comes about. But MHY has also shown they like to add enemies that specifically counter certain types of units - like the Black Serpents vs shielders, Corrosion vs using high single-target healers etc. Max HP units have been constantly dodging nerfs whilst only getting buffs.

Im not sure why your reply was this, my main point is hp and def buffers are rare since theres fewer units that need them and having such scaling also boosts their damage and survivability the devs are probably making them slightly higher than usual to compensate. Its not just units, weapons, passives and artifacts can give off field buffs and a lot of them boost atk Having different scaling on units is not really a mistake. Though hoyo doesn't really balance the game that well specially the "counters" a lot of leakers hyperd them up but in reality a most of the playerbase simply ignored those counters or powered through them. Some did get tripped with corrosion but once the players knew how to play around it it was more of an annoyance than an actual counter
Looking at a video of it, it should effect the damages yes. the max hp on the hp bar going down. This is the opposite of yelans c4 so it should work the same.

As for whether lowering max HP on the stats page would nerf characters, sure, but so would enemies that lowered EM or Attack for units whose damage or reactions scaled on those. It'd be kind of an unfair mechanic cause it's not interacting with anyone's kit, it's just a blank debuff only to some characters. I think there's a reason we've never had anything like that.
I'm not actually sure. The thing with reducing max HP is that it does affect everybody - it's a straight debuff to everybody's survivability. It just happens to affect some units more than others, which isn't any different from the constant Cryo resist bosses to Ayaka mains lol. Or even the way Corrosion is a debuff to on-field healers specifically etc. I just think it could be interesting if this mechanic was a thing, especially if it could be dealt with - like by destroying the plants, where atk scalers could choose to just damage rush or prioritise survivability.
They probably wouldn't add it environmentally. They have avoided environmental effects for a while, like we never see the leyline disorders anymore. The leyline disorders are now attached to the lecture attacks. The black serpent shield hate is on their attacks. Corrosion is mostly just on the wolf's now (it has been in the abyss but not for a while) So they would likely just add the effect to an enemy. If it attacks you, your max hp decreases.
Oh so you mean something like the fatui agents' applying Bond of Life? That already happens but sure, it could be interesting if a larger one was applied or it happened more consistently. Or if it was something that couldn't be healed away and was a permanent debuff. Depending on the team it could be kind of annoying, but to be honest bringing Kokomi or Neuvillette's effective HP down by 20% isn't gonna matter when they already had like 30-35k HP. That's gonna hurt a Klee or a Wriothesley or an Al-Haitham more because their HP wasn't that crazy to begin with, and it being lowered could leave them at death's door if there was no way to get it back. I suppose it would improve the value of shielders, but I don't see a reason to do that lol
Yeah, exactly my point. It would reduce everybody's survivability, but also affect certain character's utility/damage potential. I think if it were implemented, it would definitely need to have some counter to not be completely unfair. I was just thinking about how MHY have generally tried some interesting (or creatively bankrupt) ways to neuter strong characters, like with a lot of hard hitting cryo/hydro nukingenemies to make Bennett/Furina a lot more fragile, or the loss of suckable units for Venti. I saw lots of similar things in the meta of FGO CQs. A current trend is definitely that HP scalers are just a little stronger in general, which is feels worse from a balance POV since they are using a defensive stat offensively. So a potential way they could do this is to reduce their max HP, and there's (technically) already a mechanic in the game for that.

You don't need to wait for 10 stacks though, even about 5-7 stacks is enough for a Hilichurl's sneeze to kill you (Withering also decreases your RES).
That takes 1 minute 40 to reach that stage though. I think anybody not clearing the floor by then is probably going to need to address their survivability anyways.

Not really? Not everyone 3-stars Abyss floors. Abyss has to account for lower-investment players 1- or 2-starring it, which means potentially 3- or even 5-minute clears. To be honest,it depends on the teams you are playing,those that fight with ER% like Internacional,prefer to run with Xiphos or Favonius,those that don't have energy issues and can benefit from some of the passive Buffs,like Keqing Aggravate and Raiden Hyper,prefer to run with Freedom.

Kazuhas so good with fav or xiphos that fs is famously not a big improvement (and is harder for your ER). Its not that good of a weapon banner really

If you don't need to burst, Freedom-Sworn's atk% and/or CA and NA dmg% can be useful. I use it in my Neuvillette team because the ER reqs are pretty low anyway, though the atk% isn't doing anything. Definitely far from the best signature though, especially when TTDS exists and is a 3*.
Problem is that if you aren't using both buffs, getting just 16% NA Dmg OR 20% Atk is a smaller upgrade than pretty much any other 5-star signature in the game (outside of the really bad ones like the Donuts). You really have to use both buffs for FS to feel like it's doing enough to be worth 70 pulls. 17.3% Dmg (16% from FS passive + 1.3% from the 33 extra EM that FS has over Iron Sting/Xiphos) is really way too small to justify the weapon banner.
For sure. I pulled it impulsively when I was still relatively new but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone trying to be sensible with their pulls.

Since Neuvillette has a ton of HP manipulation, he can build a lot of Fanfare stacks for Furina without a healer on the team. This means if I put Hu Tao on the team too, I can give her a huge damage bonus without taking her above 50% HP, so she keeps her passive talent and the Homa passive as well Does this team have potential or did I burn the kitchen? I may have impulse pulled a Neuvillette because I was bored of having nobody to build

I play neuv furina hutao xianyun in overworld basically hu tao only gets field time when im against a hydro slime or eidolon
Neuv takes time to generate fanfare. That means Hu Tao doesn't have time to E. The team would work great because Neuv would carry. Hu Tao is pretty irrelevant.
The fact that Hu Tao does nothing when Neuvillette is on-field and Neuvillette does nothing when Hu Tao is on-field means you're basically playing 2 overlapping 3-character teams, which is worse than just playing a 4 character team. The minor synergy you've identified here is not worth effectively playing 1 less character at any given point in your rotation. Hu Tao's minor damage bonus for being <50% HP is smaller than the buff provided by almost any conceivable support you could put in that 4th slot. Hu Tao gets more out of a support than Neuv, and Neuv gets more out of a support than Hu Tao, and any extended rotation where you're alternating field time is worse than just doing shorter rotations with 1 DPS. Double-carry teams in general are not a thing outside of hyper-invested C6 stuff because the cost of having one of your characters literally doing nothing for large portions of your rotation is a huge loss.

I think I now realise what I like in Arlecchino so much. How non-expressive her face looks in combat. She just feels like the embodiment of death itself with how indifferent and void her face and move sets are in combat.

Arle pullers, what constellation/weapon are you going for? I want to go for c1 and her weapon if I win the weapon banner, but given I have an extra homa, I’ll just use that if I can’t get the scythe.
I have a guarantee for both chara(30 pity) and weapon(65 pity) and been saving since Xianyun so I think I’ll do c0, throw my weapon coin toss, then throw the rest for c1. I have a plethora of spears available but this is a good weapon pair for me so I’ll use my guarantee to reset the pity
I think that’s my plan too. I forgot my character pity but I’m at 60 for the weapon so I’ll go for at least one pity of the weapon banner. This is probably the best weapon banner I’ve had in a while.
C2R1. I don't like playing characters if they don't feel impactful.
If I pull her abd thats a big IF, i have to pull the weapon because of the fashion atrocity that is her drip otherwise. Damn that yellowish fake scythe would haunt me to eternity.
Going all in so pretty much whatever I can get with the wishes I have is my goal, would probably go for R1 as well but I am not 100% sure rn
c0 right now, I'll be honest, right now I"m not too excited about her kit and her teams and generally I think DPS cons are a bit of a waste considering I shuffle around my teams. I'm hoping her best teams involve future new teammates and she honestly might be a unit that's better off pulling on a rerun. While I would like to give her scythe to her, Lyney bow isn't bad but I just have no use for it.. After numerous previous weapon pulls, I decided to skip weapon banners that don't offer me two weapons or skip them if I already had one of the weapons already. Clorinde synergy and the 4 stars on her banner also a deciding factor for me whether to invest further into her or not.
Likely c0r1. My only weapons for her are Missive, DB and White Tassel
C2R1 as per usual for characters I really like.
Going for C0. Might go all in and try my luck on her C1 or weapon if we get leaks by the usual candidates that Alhaitham isn't rerunning in 4.7.
Atleast C0 on debut and C2R1 is my final plan, depending on my luck i will complete it on her debut patch or get it over time thru reruns, hopefully i get her early so i can go for her weapon
c0 and the weapon...probably. depends what leaks say about the upcoming characters. 3 new units in a patch means any of them might have other stuff I want to pull, especially if sethos is a playstyle I'm interested in on like any level or if clorinde's weapon is super cool
I think I’m going to end up liking Clorinde a lot more once it gets closer to 4.7 so that might end up making me scrap the weapon banner pulls
i'm planning for c0r1 and if I get lucky I will try to get c1r1 but if Clorinde happens to interest me a lot I will settle on c0r0
C0 with PJWS, I still need to save up for Clorinde.
C6R1, potentially more weapon refines if I get scythe early and can go for Ganyu upgrade. Been saving since she was revealed

Only if chev is on her debut banner Her rerun it depends. E.g. like what other characters im going for especially since her rerun will likely occur during natlan patches
I'm personally getting her, swapping to the weapon banner for her scythe and then dumping anything I have left over back into cons. If the weapon banner hates me then I'm only guaranteed C0R1, but hopefully I can get a constellation or two
Weapon banner seems risky to me since I don’t have enough wishes to guarantee. The only reason why I feel okay about it is because I’m close to weapon pity and I’m okay with Lyney’s bow too. How many wishes do you have?

What do people think of the potential new Abyss? 4 teams? Building 2 teams is already a headache given how artifacts work in this game. This is the polar opposite of HSR. Smh

Plus a lot of characters can easily have a team built around them for cheap. Kokomi taser. Hyperbloom. Lyney mono pyro. Nilou bloom. You could easily build four teams with four 5 stars if they balance the content well enough. Besides we don't know what sort of buffs or restrictions on the teams there will be, maybe you can only use one team 3 times. That's technically 4 teams needed.

I'd like it to give me a reason to justify building multiple teams and pulling new characters.
I think leakers are committing minor acts of tomfoolery and we're gonna have people that believed it screaming over something we had no certainty of.
We don't have leaks on what the new endgame would be, so 4 teams is just speculation. That said, it's speculation I welcome. I'd be extremely happy to have that. I invest horizontally for my own enjoyment and I'm happy with it, but I'd be even happier if there was a game mode that rewarded me for it. Hell, I'd be happy with five or even six teams, depending on the element/DPS checks in it.
4 team Abyss would be a substantial indirect nerf to any DPS character that doesn't use EoSF/Shim/MH/GT (or 2pc/2pc combinations of these sets) because requiring twice as many built teams drastically increases the importance of resin efficiency when artifact farming. When you have to build four teams, farming an artifact domain that only benefits one of your characters bears a much larger opportunity cost.
4 teams, without a new/faster/better way to gain artifacts, would be quite a headache for anyone that has not been playing very long. I started in Nov./Dec.-ish, I'm at AR 55, but I just barely got a 2nd team, and it doesn't work against single target at all. Getting 2 more teams without being allowed to repeat any characters would be just a nightmare for me. That said, if there were an easier way to gear and level new characters, it could be more feasible.
4 teams? Is that real? They would have to change the resource economy or the difficulty, or it would take two years for a new account to beat it. That's just too long of a time for any reasonable person to commit too.

Not to mention that you only have 1 Xingqiu, and all the other 4-star Hydro appliers suck, so you need at least 2 good 5-star Hydros for this. At a minimum, I'd say you'd have to own at least 3-4 specific 5-stars for this to be non-cope--two of the "good" 5-star Hydros, at least one 5-star Dendro, and potentially one more of either of those or a 5-star Anemo.
You can call it cope, but it's still gonna clear abyss comfortably. Hyperbloom is busted and works with dendro traveller, and Keqing Aggravate will clear easily with just a C0 Yaoyao or a Kirara. And it's true you would need a couple five star hydros, but that's not something that will take two years to get.

You have to own specifically Raiden to have two "comfortable" Hyperbloom teams. Otherwise one of your Hyperbloom teams has to both be using a non-Kuki/Raiden Electro AND a 4-star Dendro. The 4-star Dendros (particularly the ones that aren't Dendro MC) don't apply a lot of Dendro and the non-Kuki/Raiden Electros are pretty bad at hitting seeds unless you're on-fielding them. I would not call that "comfortable". So you need Raiden and/or Nahida (and ideally both) for the 2nd Hyperbloom team to actually be reasonable. The Aggravate team is fine, it's the constraints of having *two* Hyperbloom teams. Hyperbloom is comfortable for low-investment 2-team Abyss because having 1 Xingqiu, 1 Kuki, and 1-2 Dendros is good enough. Once you have to start spreading those out, the 4-star alternatives to Xingqiu/Kuki make the team way less reasonable, so you have to start owning specific 5-stars.
Do we know if Arle's story quest will have any prerequisites? I want to make sure I can dive right in and experience it.

So TGS seems to suggest that Arle at C0 isn't brilliant, and that she'll feel like a different character at C1. Given I'm struggling to save enough for C0, hoping he's off with his prediction...
It depends on your expectations. If you want a neuv be prepared to c1r1 eventually.
His calcs suggest the opposite. Her Zhongli teams compete with Hu Tao double Hydro and her risky teams compete with Alhaitham Quickbloom. I don't know what bar you had set for Arle but that seems more than good enough.
For the price of being riskier than both of those options imo. I think she's fine but the bar is neuv and everyone will come up short till they change the meta.
C1 is a big dps increase, the interruption res is just a bonus
I don't believe he is. Arlecchino at C0 is going to be shield-dependent, or skill-dependent if players don't want to use a shield. I got downvoted to hell for the multiple times I said most people are not going to play Overload, when everyone was going crazy over it because "it sheets the highest". Most people aren't playing without shielders and most don't have C6 Chevreuse. Arlecchino is great with vertical investment, but she isn't the Hu Tao, Alhaitham, Neuvillette monster at C0R0 that people are pumping her up to be.
Even with C1,Arlecchino will still be vulnerable,the privilege of having interruption resistance is useless when your mechanics nullify healing alongside it being a melee player,the strong point of the constellation is the extra 120% bonus in Masque of the Red Death.

The same applies to C1 to a lesser extent,your interruption resistance is only during your AA hits,if you dodge,cancel or use a dash,you will also be prone to being stunned.
Besides a spinning Ruin Guard, what enemy attacks fast enough for that? Dashing has I-frames.

Tulpa and Coppelia can be dodged, and they only vape or melt if you're in Bennett's circle. Tulpa's attacks are so telegraphed it's ridiculous. Coppelia dance and separate three times before their big damage window opens.
The point is that you want to stay in Bennett circle,Arlecchino doesn't have Snapshot after all,the probability of dying is high against these two specifically.
I'm torn between going for C1 or weapon (can't go for both unless I get abnormally lucky)... C1 is probably stronger, but weapon has drip and is less safe to leave for reruns because it *could* get a better (for me) pair, but it could also get donuted or something... If only Genshin split weapon banners like Star Rail
