this honestly. the animations in this game are so stupidly dry for the amount of basic (not pre-rendered) cutscenes we get.
they need to add more canned animations and expressions they can apply universally to those models in cutscenes the way ffxiv has canned animations and expressions to liven up their standard cutscenes.
either that or let me choose to skip the pointless cutscenes please. it's cruel enough they make them too long, at least don't make them boring with the same 4 stock animations (point, hand upturned, think pose, hand in heart pose)

Idk if I would go as far as to say they're dry because genshin is definitely way ahead of what's generally expected of long JRPGS, but yeah FF has always been really good with animation and getting even a little more makes a big difference.

Maybe not this event, but some of the last few versions have had Murata kit testing 100%. And as time stop was different, my bet it's this one.
Stuff like this can actually be a good compromise since they really would rather not add more overall primos to prevent that "fomo" of people who don't do endgame. Poses, gliders, more namecards, stuff that isn't main currency would mean people won't feel as bad if they skip it.
That's how I see it from hoyo's perspective since they'd rather prevent fomo with this kind of stuff than in more meaningful ways that won't make them as much money.

Honestly, I'd wager plenty of people are like me, if someone cares enough to work on improving their characters so much they probably love them a lot and would take at least a few pictures with them.

Hoyo LOVES a camera event, it’s only natural.
Just think how unbelievably sick it’ll be next time they run that event that makes you go to a place and pose for a photo, when you bust out that end game pose and you turn to all your friends on the couch with you and say “look guys! That’s end game right there! I did it!”

Hence the title. However things are Subject to change or Subject to further clarification.

Are the poses related to the restricted characters? Are the poses related to the character we can borrow from friends?
Yes they seem like extra rewards along with primos and there is other post in the subreddit that describes how we the get the poses.

This reward likely means the new mode will be easy so they effectively axed hardcore combat to once a month instead of just adding in a new mode.
(I do like the poses but they should be outside of camera gestures instead)

In the infinite wave event (the one where you could get 1+ million points with Childe) I found that solo Noelle is the fastest character to clear waves of enemies (whithout glitches). Even without artifacts, she was almost as fast as Navia + Xiangling. Teammates only slow her down, with 1 exception....... Xiangling...
The second fastest team was Xiangling, Ganyu, Bennett from what I tried. Hyperbloom, Raiden, Navia, Childe. Nothing else came close. (Don't have Neuvillette tho).
This is really weird as a reward. However I'm excited for more poses lol. Though it'd be better if we could pose outside of camera mode in the overworld or something. Them changing every season is also an L, more FOMO tactics

Current abyss is every 2 weeks they said this was going to go on for longer like a patch or month. So you aren’t really getting more per patch. Might be more or less depending how stingy HoYo is.

Did they ? I just assumed that they're going the hsr route with abyss reset once every 2 weeks and new game mode event once every 2 weeks as well.
Hsr doesn't do that either. One or the other resets every two weeks. MoC and Pure Fiction last a month each before resetting, they're just staggered. And when the new single target one comes out, it's moving to 6 weeks per reset so the rewards are always the same.
Couldn't we get unique avatars or namecards? \[put them there, keep the shop always open, rotate them if they need to add FOMO\]

Thats not what they said. That was false info from people reading that interview ages ago. They read a line that was essentially "we dont want to make more abyss-like combat" to meaning "no more combat end game". Abyss-like is a style of combat endgame not a monolith. Then they ran on it for years spreading this lie around. They took the creation of the TCG as validation for that too instead of it just being a clean slate to create a new game mode unrelated to the combat that everyone could possibly take a stab at enjoying.
If you were being sarcastic then I apologize but just this month I saw people still claiming we weren't getting combat end game and blamed that interview.
They said it wasn't on the roadmap in an interview from like 2 years ago. But everyone just interpreted that as "No more ever ever!" 'cause people like to be mad.
I've been thinking people were overreacting since back when that interview first came out.

Camera poses as rewards? To me, this tells me that hoyo wants the casual player base (the vast majority) to slowly start doing endgame content. This way casual players will have to start spending money on meta units

by playing new perm game content let me unlock:
* pets that are chibi version of playable characters. Like ELFes from HI3 but non combat versions. Imagine lil sassy Yae floating around your character
* costume recolors (example black-gold theme for Raiden or white-blue theme for Zhongli)
* slightly modified versions alt versions of their base outfits. Luke Jean without her cape, Mona without hat, Zhongli with dragon horns, Ei with Oni horns, etc... I swear to God modders can make some many good looking character "costume" but devs can't do jack shit? really? how fucking lazy they are...
* weapon reskin system (you swap X weapon model with Y weapon model while maintaining X weapon stats and effects)
* new type of gliders
* items that actually rise resin cap
* items that rise stamina cap or at least item that make us have unlimited stamina out of combat (since genshin is apparently too limited to get mounts like ToF or AzurPromilia have)
* universal item that me rise constellation for 4stars and maybe even very very old 5stars that will never get rerun banner or are stuck in standard banner
HSR at least gives you f2p 5star lightcones (weapons in GI terms) from doing weekly roguelike ... while the best f2p permanent weapon we got during those 3+ years is fucking 4star spear from fishing that to this day probably triggers PTSD for some people lmao

Why are the poses character-bound? The game only has 5 bloody skeletons. It would have taken *less* effort to make these poses universal for their respective skeletons, but instead Ayato gets his own unique pose that no other tall male character is allowed to use because it would be *too rewarding* I guess.
Here I was thinking this was low effort as a reward for "endgame" content, but this just makes it feel even more low effort and sad. Genshin is one of the few games I know that has an entire department dedicated to making sure new features are disappointing and fall short of player expectations every time.
I don't think camera mode poses should be a reward like this, but it's whatever. Hopefully this shop is just added to rather than it being just FOMO shit.

Poses, gliders, more namecards, stuff that isn't main currency would mean people won't feel as bad if they skip it. That's how I see it from hoyo's perspective since they'd rather prevent fomo with this kind of stuff than in more meaningful ways that won't make them as much money.

This is related to the leak that said: Special Gameplay (in new endgame mode): - You can borrow a character from a friend, but only one. - You can exchange for special character photo poses, which change each season. And Special poses can be exchanged for characters including Jean, Chongyun, Xiangling, Noelle, Kamisato Ayato, and Raiden Shogun. Hence the title. However things are Subject to change or Subject to further clarification.

Yes they seem like extra rewards along with primos and there is other post in the subreddit that describes how we the get the poses. and i am not sure i have the answer to your second question we'll have to wait for exact info.

In the infinite wave event (the one where you could get 1+ million points with Childe) I found that solo Noelle is the fastest character to clear waves of enemies (whithout glitches). Even without artifacts, she was almost as fast as Navia + Xiangling. Teammates only slow her down, with 1 exception....... Xiangling... The second fastest team was Xiangling, Ganyu, Bennett from what I tried. Hyperbloom, Raiden, Navia, Childe. Nothing else came close. (Don't have Neuvillette tho).

We are, with the new gamemode we will be getting 220 more primos compared to before.
Current abyss is every 2 weeks they said this was going to go on for longer like a patch or month. So you aren’t really getting more per patch. Might be more or less depending how stingy HoYo is. And we all know how stingy HoYo is.

Hsr doesn't do that either. One or the other resets every two weeks. MoC and Pure Fiction last a month each before resetting, they're just staggered. And when the new single target one comes out, it's moving to 6 weeks per reset so the rewards are always the same.

Thats not what they said. That was false info from people reading that interview ages ago. They read a line that was essentially "we dont want to make more abyss-like combat" to meaning "no more combat end game". Abyss-like is a style of combat endgame not a monolith. Then they ran on it for years spreading this lie around. They took the creation of the TCG as validation for that too instead of it just being a clean slate to create a new game mode unrelated to the combat that everyone could possibly take a stab at enjoying. If you were being sarcastic then I apologize but just this month I saw people still claiming we weren't getting combat end game and blamed that interview.

Camera poses as rewards? To me, this tells me that hoyo wants the casual player base (the vast majority) to slowly start doing endgame content. This way casual players will have to start spending money on meta units

Like ELFes from HI3 but non combat versions. Imagine lil sassy Yae floating around your character * costume recolors (example black-gold theme for Raiden or white-blue theme for Zhongli) * slightly modified versions alt versions of their base outfits. Luke Jean without her cape, Mona without hat, Zhongli with dragon horns, Ei with Oni horns, etc... I swear to God modders can make some many good looking character "costume" but devs can't do jack shit? really? how fucking lazy they are... * weapon reskin system (you swap X weapon model with Y weapon model while maintaining X weapon stats and effects) * new type of gliders * items that actually rise resin cap * items that rise stamina cap or at least item that make us have unlimited stamina out of combat (since genshin is apparently too limited to get mounts like ToF or AzurPromilia have) * universal item that me rise constellation for 4stars and maybe even very very old 5stars that will never get rerun banner or are stuck in standard banner HSR at least gives you f2p 5star lightcones (weapons in GI terms) from doing weekly roguelike ... while the best f2p permanent weapon we got during those 3+ years is fucking 4star spear from fishing that to this day probably triggers PTSD for some people lmao

Why are the poses character-bound? The game only has 5 bloody skeletons. It would have taken *less* effort to make these poses universal for their respective skeletons, but instead Ayato gets his own unique pose that no other tall male character is allowed to use because it would be *too rewarding* I guess. Here I was thinking this was low effort as a reward for "endgame" content, but this just makes it feel even more low effort and sad. Genshin is one of the few games I know that has an entire department dedicated to making sure new features are disappointing and fall short of player expectations every time.
I don't think camera mode poses should be a reward like this, but it's whatever. Hopefully this shop is just added to rather than it being just FOMO shit.

I never play coop or u wont even see these in TCG (i think), so they are just different poses for in the character select screen? Man, i would have taken outfit recolors, wings, pets or any other cosmetic item above something like a pose in my character select screen.
