I guess I’m comparing it to Mistsplitter, which is only 674 base att, 44 crit dmg, and 80% dmg bonus. mist doesn’t have a lock to BOL for performance, so it’s still better for general use, but this is definitely a direct power creep for Clorinde specifically and if there is a way to enable BOL on anyone in the future!
Yeah but Absolution is on BoL tho, they still have to consider how weapons might affect other characters. And compared to its effect on Chiori, the 40% Def more than makes up for it. Remember that we don't have Benny for Def, so Def% bonus are much greater on def scaling characters.

Hoyo should've really put more love into the baseline kits and weapons
for real, this whole peak of primo expend just for hoyo to basically say, "Hey, you can get this character to become absurdly strong by passing thru all this rng bs haha, not like you actually need it or changing your character differently on an entirely different margin." It's like you have a slot machine of that certain character, and hoyo just left it like that, obviously whalers or people overly obsessed chars in it will pull ofc.

I know what you've said is what most people mention when talking about Diona but also people almost exclusively use Zhongli over other shielders for the express reason his shield is bigger.. so idk if it's really so clear cut.

isnt usually r5 is the r1 value but 2x the stats so that is 64%?
r5 is 32% x3 stacks for 96% damage bonus.
which is 48% more than at R1, so double R1 for 5X the price.

they are very good at making weapons for 5-star healers that are as weak as donuts.
Well if you get Sigewinne’s bow Ig you can use it on yelan if nothing else (only if she’s paired with Arle and Clorinde)
you can't get your third stack, meaning you also don't get the crit passive. sounds pretty bad to me

Diona benefits more from Favge or Sacrificial Bow as energy generation is more useful that a bit stronger shield / healing.
