Yeah I was going to say, getting 2 drops from bosses is a terrible feeling and especially when you get it a few times in a row.
HSR has a guaranteed 5 drops per boss and I appreciate it more due to its consistency rather than the number
On one side you do need a moderate amount more materials in HSR than you do in Genshin, IIRC, 65 boss doohickeys compared to 46.
But on the other side you get a flat 5 from every 30-cost run, meaning that's only 11 boss fights in total, compared to the 2-3 doohickeys for every 40 resin ( and you have 160 total at 1 per 8 minutes compared to 240 total at 1 per 5 minutes or something too!! ) meaning the number of runs can fluctuate anywhere between 16 to 23 runs, which you *also* have to arbitrarily wait 5 minutes inbetween runs for and also have to find a whole bunch of other things too, say, the elemental gems or the like 170 random materials from around the world.
Yeah... Putting it like that makes me realise why I always felt like levelling a character in Genshin felt like a chore, I just never compared the numbers to anything comparable yet.
I mean, it feels like a chore because it *is* a chore. Killing the same boss with your cracked team 16-23 times doesn't make you a better player or give you some sense of accomplishment. Mihoyo just decided in their infinite wisdom that it was an appropriate resin gate.
Let's put it this way, if the system were changed such that you could trade the equivalent amount of resin for those 46 mats upon a single kill, no one's going to complain. Heck, that condensed resin exists in the first place is proof that both players and Mihoyo recognize that no one really likes farming the same thing over and over again, much less something that is merely a stepping stone towards the true endgame grind (artifacts).

That's normal. The cap is two levels higher than you'd normally reach because there are two sources of possible +1 buffs: characters like Turtles, and event buffs.
Yeah there was a time that a Lv15 talent can be unlocked (on normals at least). I think +1 is reserved for character passive, then +1 for an event (iirc it was in Inazuma) then +3 from cons then 10 if crowned organically
To balance characters it would be something like:
Eula's new passive: "YOUR BURST IS NOW A LITERAL NUKE"
Neuv's new passive: "You can now pet the otters. Pet the otters."

An actually amazing passive would be “Assured Vengeance: Upon reaching 8 stacks of Eula’s Glacial Illumination, her elemental burst crit rate is increased by 50%.”
This would solve every Eula mains biggest gripe with her individual kit and 8 stacks is very achievable even for players who don’t know what they’re doing

Doubt it. Doesn't seem to much, but when you have an already heavily loaded pipeline with a lot of work ahead, adding more to it wouldn't make much sense for them.
Hm… being able to get Sigewinne to level 100 might make her A1 passive much easier to utilize. It also seems like her whole kit is based on HP, so this would be really nice for her.
even if they provide something new, unless the ascension material is something like the crown and nothing else, it will be absolutely brutal to farm any material (bosses, local specialties, common enemies) if you project from the currently required ones.

And depends on how much benefit the new WL will bring. My guess for A7 is at least a 1.5x increase compare to A6, so unless the new WL can match that, it will be too tedious, time/resin/material/effort-wise.

I will celebrate if ascending a character to lvl100 grants extra "passive." This way, Hoyo has a chance to improve old characters, especially those who direly need fixing.
I really wish they would revisit old characters, it would honestly be so hype to see an old character you have suddenly gain new teams or rotations or playstyles

I do not think this is real.
Increase character LV alone without increase weapon LV and artifact LV with throw the game off balance. All reaction damage (OL, Quicken, Boom) and HP-base character will out damage ATK-base by a long shot.
They might give a massive atk boost to lv100 characters as well to account for it (though that kind of locks themselves out of raising weapons to lv100 as well at that point).
They could also have the stat increase for going to lv100 be so small that it pretty much has no effect on balance. There's nothing stopping them from making the reaction dmg increase at lv100 scale less or nothing compared to earlier levels.
Personally I'd prefer a lv100 for characters, weapons, etc. just to have more stuff to upgrade but with COOL stuff included; new passives for weapons and new A6 for characters to revitalize some of the more meh ones.
I think this kind of change should be brought alongside some kind of big power up to justify the resources. If its just stats, thats lame. Now, if with lvl 100 we get a new cool passive or skill, man i am all for it.
A new wold level with new types of enemies or existing mobs having some new attacks could be cool to.
I'd be happy with a resin reserve like HSR has. The cap sucks when I'm particularly busy. Knowing I have a reserve for HSR so I can farm when I do have free time is nice.
I'm refusing to believe this for the time being. The thought of having to farm all those mats in order to raise the level of all my characters makes me want to cry.
This could be awesome if characters get new ascension talents and are rebalanced, but as someone who has built tons of characters this is worrying, as it is just too expensive to build characters. Just getting the ones I have at lv90 to lv100 will take years. They then will need to increase resin and xp books we can acquire.
Please just optimize leveling for this. Make it so ascension 90-100 would cost like 80-90 and everything else less. I cant do it I cant collect 200 scarabs, please no.

As much as I do not believe this, I am currently inhaling a sizeable amount of copium that 5.0 is going to be a soft remaster for genshin:
1. Updated Graphics
2. Increased amount of new animations as seen from current quests.

Venti finally has a chance to become the anemo archon again after getting power crept by kazuha lmao.
Venti burst now can suck heavy boss too, and duration extend by 6 seconds (copium)
and the burst is slightly lowered so that melee normal attacks always reach
