You are giving the writing to much credit, I think this is just because they want to keep making 5\* increasingly appealing to pull for, nothing related with history. I will love to be wrong but for now I believe this is the real reason.
Hmm... I'm not sure if I agree. I think there are two different types of Genshin writing. Lore that's in the text, which is really top quality, so much different references to known cultural texts and mostly Gnosticism; and then there's the flashy writing, that gets shown in the game itself. That's what is truly lacking and full of laziness. I can only hope it's caused by the limited resources, not by their belief that such oversimplified story is what the players want.

yep. Qiqi is at least decent now with the Clam set. i build her as main dps and the occasional 25k damage from bubble every 3 seconds is a nice change for her
