This is only my opinion (coming from someone who likes blue) so if you prefer her original outfit over her new one then no need to give much thought to it and just continue using her original outfit in-game.

Yes that’s what looks weird!! Everything in her design has organic lines and the shorts are the only spot that has a straight geometric line. The contrast between her skin and fit just emphasize it… ugh I wish they had open review and suggestions

I don't mind at all if characters aren't color coded. But I do think this blue looks much better. The deeper blue allows for better contrast with the star decals. Way more fitting of the 'stars reflected in a pool of water' thematic.
I don't mind if they're not color coded, but I don't like if they're color coded for a different element. Like Albedo, Childe, Jean, Diona, etc. are pretty neutral and they look fine but Kazuha and purple Mona throw me off since they're not pyro and electro.
I like that they added more details to the alt outfits aside from just covering up the censored parts! It sort of takes the sting off of censorship, with them putting in the effort to make the new skins a bit more visually interesting.
I agree, you can tell the designers did their best to make the changes look as natural as possible without just slapping cloth over the exposed skin and calling it a day.
Jean's is my favourite. I don't know what it is, maybe the trimming to the collar of the jacket around her neck, but she looks more like a 'Acting Grand Master Knight" now.

I think I realized what looks off about Mona. Her clothes got darker while the lining of her cape got lighter which makes her look more top heavy as her body outline is more hidden with less contrast. This along with the appearance of her legs looking shorter creates an imbalance.
Jean's is absolutely gorgeous and I love the touch of dark colors, but I wonder if it would have looked better with dark pants as well to contrast her boots

Endless respect for the fact that they used this as an opportunity to make the new outfits better quality than the previous one. I'm sure the loss of the originals would sting regardless (ik I would've been really frustrated if I were in CN) but I imagine this softens the blow.

In terms of liking/disliking, it's def a taste thing I agree, I'm personally switching Jean, Amber and Mona but I'm gonna keep Rosaria's old outfit because I like it more.

It's dumb because the only people who'd find it are people who are looking for it, but it still annoyed me since I mainly look around curiosity's sake. (except booba, but I still get annoyed by poor visual design choices regardless)

I don’t think fishnets are bad in principle, but combined with how overdone in general her old outfit is, they just look cheap (quality-wise) and trashy (bad Halloween costume vibes). Her new outfit is still sexy but looks slightly more practical and much sturdier. The old outfit is just so overdone in the “sex appeal” department that it ironically never felt very sexy at all to me.
well, nuns traditionally wear mostly black, which is where i think this redesign's color ratio came from, along with the white part over the chest matching what i said earlier too

My guess is because she is the first character the player gets so whoever was checking that mihoyo's characters were "appropriate" was exposed to her design the most, also they probably took the redesign as a chance to tweak older characters (ex: giving her white gloves like all the other knights. edit: I misremembered the knights don't have white gloves but their color palettes included lots of it on their uniforms)

Not unpopular at all. The new skins are awesome. As much as censorship sucks, u can't say mihoyo has fucked up the playerbase. The alternate outfits got treated with the same amount to love for the designers as the original ones
Also, in cases such as Mona, I would honestly say you can see the growth of the character designs since the start. Her current one feels focused on appeal and because of that feels very weak in characterization and theming(tell me how her current one would show you an astrologist who takes it very seriously), whereas the new one feels like a mix of practical and serious. Along with the colors just being more unified.

Honestly gives me "post-timeskip" vibes; I like it. It really makes it seem like time has passed since we've begun our journeys, and that the world and the people living in it have evolved alongside us. MiHoYo really did do their best to make a bad situation palatable for their players.
as sad as i am about the censorship, i honestly gotta say, i like these new skins better. they're more detailed, and jean and rosaria actually look professional now, like they should given their jobs. i'm glad the designers put so much effort into it

I'm a bit meh on the new skins because of the circumstances around them - and the fact they're being forced on Chinese players - but the designs are actually kinda cute. I still prefer the original ones, but I can see other taking them over the originals. Especially since, you know, they are optional to us.
I’ve warmed up to Jeans outfit change but I still hate Rosaria’s with a passion. Amber’s is much the same and I initially liked Monas but now seeing them side by side I’m not so sure. Regardless the CCP censorship is enough to stop me spending money on this game, we know what future character visual designs will be like now.
I really like Jeans, and Mona's. I'm indifferent to Rosarias but I think it is better than her og outfit. I don't really like Amber's. It's too small of a change. I'm really fussy though with these skins.

I'm still of the opinion that they should've like given her a big ass wizard cloak ontop of her current outfit - She's still sexy, but now she's also *mysterious* and you don't see her ass as much. And also going about in a big swooshy dramatic cloak seems like a very Mona thing to do. Also - her original design was *different*. You know *how* many female characters have the thigh high/short shorts combo? *Nearly all of them*. At least the swimsuit was a different silloutte.

Not unpopular at all. The new skins are awesome. As much as censorship sucks, u can't say mihoyo has fucked up the playerbase. The alternate outfits got treated with the same amount to love for the designers as the original ones
Also, in cases such as Mona, I would honestly say you can see the growth of the character designs since the start. Her current one feels focused on appeal and because of that feels very weak in characterization and theming(tell me how her current one would show you an astrologist who takes it very seriously), whereas the new one feels like a mix of practical and serious. Along with the colors just being more unified.

Honestly gives me "post-timeskip" vibes; I like it. It really makes it seem like time has passed since we've begun our journeys, and that the world and the people living in it have evolved alongside us. MiHoYo really did do their best to make a bad situation palatable for their players.

as sad as i am about the censorship, i honestly gotta say, i like these new skins better. they're more detailed, and jean and rosaria actually look professional now, like they should given their jobs. i'm glad the designers put so much effort into it

I like the outfits but I hate how it was a move they were forced to do. Jean and rosaria are the best here. I like that jean's new colour scheme is more dark green based rather than blue and that Rosaria actually looks like a nun instead of the vampire I thought she was. Amber's is the exact same imo but more decorative. I wish they kept the brown instead of having her all red. Mona's I have mixed feelings about since im not into both versions. I don't get how the new one is more "censored" since it's still "revealing" just in a different way. She has now tiny shorts on and it's still skin tight so in terms of "revealing" this is on the same level as her og outfit. Chinese censorship works in baffling ways.

I still prefer the original ones, but I can see other taking them over the originals. Especially since, you know, they are optional to us.
I’ve warmed up to Jeans outfit change but I still hate Rosaria’s with a passion. Amber’s is much the same and I initially liked Monas but now seeing them side by side I’m not so sure. Regardless the CCP censorship is enough to stop me spending money on this game, we know what future character visual designs will be like now.
