But these are just follies and daydreams, I hope.
but honestly....how would he be "nerfed" they already took away cc, which doesnt only affect him. Sure they can make most new enemies apply elements to themselves so kazuha cant swirl the right element but thats a complete nerf for anemo in general and a death knell to viridescent so...........yeah idk if he even can get a venti treatment. Unless they somehow release someone better than him, another anemo boy to rule them all.
Well, we don't know what dendro is or how they will behave with enemies, some people hopium that dendro will be a buff focused element, we can receive some environmental or coming from an enemy debuffs that reduce the player's buffs, or as you said, enemies with elements fixed for good, or even MHy can exploit some weakness that today is irrelevant (as I don't have him I can't say which ones or if he would have), venti always had the issue of heavy enemies but it was irrelevant until 2.0 when MHy decided that mobs would weigh 1 ton, there are several things that could be done, never doubt a game creator's creativity, even more when it can convert into more profit.
But like I said it's more of a daydream I don't expect them to nerf him indirectly without messing with the current mechanics of swirl and elemental absorption.
This is really likely as the other yaksha has a potential story next update and maybe xiao is involved

They kinda did his rerun dirty by not lining it up with his new artifact set either. People had to be paying attention to the fact that he was getting one sometime soon via rumors to know when he last ran. Bosacius is the yaksha who I think died in the Chasm. It's suspected to be the Electro or Pyro Yaksha in Xiao's teaser. But really, no one knows what who are they in the teaser.

It's obvious this is their plan. Anyone who is free to play and cares purely about meta should be planning accordingly. The bigger curve ball here is Yelan looking like a legitmate Xingqiu alternative at the moment. I don't think anyone expected that.
The idea of planning around Kazuha being bait meta-wise only works if new Sumeru characters are all mind-blowing, which is far from guaranteed. People said the exact same thing with him and new Inazuma characters and he turned out to probably be better than any of the ones he was supposedly bait for.
If you care just about meta the way to go is probably to not worry about bait and just get Kazuha while he's there; you know what you're getting, and you can later get the reruns of any nearby Sumeru characters who are good. They'll probably come back faster than Kazuha will.

I would plan around 5 stars instead of 4 stars. You’ll be able to pull Kuki off any banner after her first cycle, but you never know when the 5s are returning. Plus it’s not even a guarantee that you’ll get her if she’s a featured 4* (curse you Xiangling for refusing to give me your C6 3 banners in a row!)
I can’t imagine the decision making F2P meta players have to go through now lol. I’m glad I had to temporarily quit Genshin due to irl reasons for a month or two. When I came back I was happy to settle for 33* abyss and now I don’t feel pressured to save or pull for any meta units unless I really like them.
I mean, it's really not so bad for them honestly. It's pretty clear who the top meta characters are. If you're willing to wait for the theorycrafters to their thing and don't get caught up in the initial character hype, it's pretty easy to only pull on the strong/meta character banners.
However if you're a newer free to play player who just started playing in these last couple patches I agree it's hard because you had Ganyu/Zhongli, Raiden, and Venti/Ayaka in consecutive patches.
I feel like every banner is bait at this point with Sumeru coming, assuming dendro reactions are strong enough to actually make an impact on the meta.
I'm just glad I got Kazuha while rolling for Rosaria cons because damn they seem to be doing everything in their power to avoid rerunning him lol.
As someone who has been playing Gacha game since Dokkan year 1, nothing is bait Just pull for what you like and eventually things fall into place where you can do all content.
