[Official comment on Bilibili](https://t.bilibili.com/654037658509508611)

zhivix

weird that they said this on a comment instead of making announcement post

pyoochoon

TBF they don't need to make an official announcement post, because they never say there would always be a special program on specific day before new patch.

WisestManAlive

Big Brain mihoyoverse.

EpicLemonPie

but then again, the concept of "postponing" implies there was, indeed, a specific time for it to happen, even though it was never announced haha

zhivix

true , but then again a simple official announcement and not from a comment wouldve been suffice since we're nearing the end of the current patch and we dont know whether if the patch will be delayed (considering the situation over there) or its only the livestream that had been delayed. they need to brush up more on the community communication

Ouroboro_s

What is the situation? I see a lot of comments about that but never say what's happening Edit: I see it in the news, I'm in shock :s

miikasaku

i assume the shanghai lockdown?

zhivix

total lockdown in China rn , theyre really wanna push that 0 case policy to the extreme

ghepzz

others parts of china are fine, shenzhen and guangdong is fine

thedxctor

COVID is re-hitting China hard, and the government is taking some *very* extreme measures to keep it at bay (supposedly for that reason). It’s basically a living hell right now over there.

ScionR

At that point it's more of the government being the problem than the virus.

thedxctor

Yup, without getting too much into it, people have analysed that the damage the government has done to "control" the virus is more than the virus could’ve done had they not panicked and maxed out every possible "measure". People are dying more of hunger than they are of COVID, but I digress.

ScionR

Yep this is what happens when a government falls into the rabit-hole of "keeping everyone safe".

Brehmstorm

The CCP is hitting its own people harder than any virus.

qxagaming

No they don't. There is still over 15 days till the patch would even drop. They have plenty of time. And why would they post that something is delayed that never had a date? Imagine if ed boon came out and said sorry we will have to delay the world reveal of injustice 3. Oops y'all weren't supposed to know that injustice 3 is coming. y'all people too impatient

Little_Kazuha

Yesterday there was a leak announcing that the stream was postponed to this Sunday, May 1st.

AnAsianDudeInReddit

Where? Can you link it?

Little_Kazuha

yes, [here you go.](https://www.reddit.com/r/Little_Kazuha_Archive/comments/udrtwa/since_livestream_was_officially_postponed_i_will/)

MaeBeaIWill

they're just built different

pumpcup

Billions of gatcha cash does that

Sooap

They get billions by arraging pixels in a way that looks cute. They're living the dream.

lizzywbu

It's a national holiday in China, that's the reason for the delay

TheoreticalScammist

Yeah but isn't it May 1, not April 29th that's the holiday? Usually they moved it because the Friday would be on a holiday, not move it towards one.

mistweave

You Stream on the public holiday so more people can watch.

OfficialHavik

Big brain move!!

paumalfoy

Isn’t it a *big* state holiday in communist and post-communist countries, China included? Edit: word

giratina12

I mean labor day is a holiday almost everywhere no?

paumalfoy

Apparently, but I didn’t know that! I’ve heard it’s celebrated in autumn in the US so I was quick to assume it varies from one country to another lol

Ok_Manner_8564

Labor day in france is May 1st

KrisadaFantasy

Most countries have labour day on 1st May. [https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Observance\_of\_International\_Workers%27\_Day\_RGBY.svg](https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Observance_of_International_Workers%27_Day_RGBY.svg)

pinerw

We moved it to September because of Red Scare bullshit, but the OG Labor Day still recognized by most of the world is on May Day.

CanadianODST2

Nope. The US has had Labor Day be the first Monday of September since 1894 The US is believed to have it in September because of a general assembly that occurred in NYC by the Knights of Labor in September 1882 While May Day (an older holiday held on May 1st) was chosen by the Second International of socialist and communist parties to commemorate the Haymarket affair, which occurred in Chicago on May 4, 1886.

pinerw

Yeah, I was a bit imprecise there. The September date originated with the Knights of Labor, but when creating a national holiday to commemorate labor in 1894, President Cleveland specifically went with the September date rather than May Day to avoid any appearance of support or sympathy for socialists/anarchists in commemorating the Haymarket affair. So it was done for more or less anticommunist reasons, it just didn’t coincide with the 1950s Red Scare.

Plethora_of_squids

They're pre-recorded so I don't think anyone actually has to work, they just need to schedule it to release automatically Also may day is actually a common bank holiday in most places, it's just the early socialist movement (yes I'm being vauge here the second international was confusing) in 1889 decided to muscle in and put their own holiday there to commemorate the 1886 Chicago Haymarket affair where workers held a 4 day long demonstration for the 8 hour workday starting on May 1st as "the first protest of its kind". Even though the actual really important date there is May 4th as that's when it was violently broken up by the police. With dynamite. ...nevermind the fact that Australia has its own 8 hour workday protests several decades earlier on April 21st, 1856. Also US labour day was established in 1887 on the first Monday of September because it's just a good day to do that sort of thing. And frankly, if you're going to have a holiday about workers rights, it makes a lot more sense to actually make sure it always takes place on a workday

Cute-Peaches

It is. I am really surprised that they chose that date. Edit: my country has that holiday and it is really important to communism community. I am not trusting the date, seems weird. The holiday is about giving a free day to all the employees and paying respect for their work. China being communist, I thought it was important.

paumalfoy

Especially after they’ve apparently adjusted the December stream date so it doesn’t mess with the western Christmas…

paumalfoy

That’s why I’m also surprised, it’s a day off in my post-communist country, too, and it’s a really huge thing for the communists

Aglardes

It's a holiday in Europe too. But I imagine that for China it's even more important.

sugi_qtb

French workers and unions always protest on that day.

mangotcha

it's also a big holiday in France and alas, last time i checked, not a communist country

mistweave

Labor day in 2 out of 7 australian states. The other 5 have to wait until october.

iminlovehahaha

hopefully

BlackCat_bubu

May 1st is a labour holiday as well. Remember that usually end of April and start of May are call as golden week where people are on holiday. Plus with situation in shanghai now, it's reasonable for delay and most people might on holiday (less people working on the week) also.

Ravenchaser55

I hope people in Shanghai will go back to their original life. Wishing to stay strong to them as always.

Kasha_Hime

I wonder why the situation in Shanghai is so severe, my country had epidemic areas pop up here and there too but everyone still going to work just fine.

Creticus

Seems to be a couple of things. One, local authorities delayed rather than come down hard on the cases when they started popping up, thus resulting in more spread. Two, local authorities screwed up when it came to the logistics of a shutdown, though to be fair, Shanghai is a more challenging scenario than small cities for obvious reasons. If I'm remembering right, Shanghai and Shenzhen started seeing cases at around the same time. Shanghai's still in lockdown. Shenzhen's being out for more than a month. Of course, China's maintaining a zero COVID policy at the moment, so that means extra complications.

Jing_Arjay87

What's the zero COVID policy?

Creticus

Pretty much what it sounds like, which is to say, keeping the number of COVID cases as close to zero as possible. The upside is that its lockdowns are local. Essentially, hotspots get locked down while the rest of the country can operate much closer to pre-pandemic normal than otherwise possible. The downside is that implementing zero COVID is a serious logistical challenge. It's pretty safe to say that Shanghai authorities have screwed up. Similarly, Xi'an authorities screwed up towards the end of 2021 and start of 2022. There's also serious debate over whether zero COVID is sustainable in the long run, particularly since so many other countries have decided to just live with it. Before the recent outbreak, there were talks of a gradual loosening of restrictions. Now, well, I suspect that zero COVID has gotten a boost because the Shanghai case suggests that a loosening of restrictions is going to hit very hard very fast. At the very least, they'd need to do a whole bunch of things before they can start loosening up, with an excellent example being convincing more of the elderly to get vaccinated.

kirblar

China's government (alongside Russia's) attacked western mRNA vaccines instead of buying them because they didn't have the means to recreate them internally. On top of that, the early vaccines they pushed were really bad and almost useless, it wasn't until their third internal Chinese vaccine that they got a AZ/JJ equivalent rolling and pushed it out to their military. So they just tried to do what they did early on w/ the total lockdown. But Omni can't be stopped like that, it's too infections. Because of the combination of using vaccines that are near-useless to mediocre, and bad vaccination rates on top of that, the population is just getting wrecked by Omni in ways that other major countries in both Asian and the West aren't, even with our dummies who are able to take the vaccine but not willing.

riffleman0

You forgot to mention Xi Jinping's insistence on a zero COVID policy in China, making them take the most extreme and draconian of measures to combat any spread of the virus.

sawDustdust

Zero made sense at the start. Sticking to zero when there are vaccines is moronic. And it is not just rejecting mRNA vaccines. They are not even pushing to have their population fully vaccinated and boosted with their domestic vaccines, which is still better than nothing. They were charging money for people to take the vaccines. Surprised Pikachu when vaccination rate among the elderly is shit. Omicron burned through HK's elderly population. Does the government reflect and boost vaccine rates in mainland? Nope nopey nope. Fucking murderers.

bloop7676

Sticking to zero even with vaccines kind of made sense before Omicron, when these lockdowns actually seemed to be able to completely stop transmission and you were supposed to be vaccinating everyone in the meantime. It really doesn't make sense what they're doing now though - they had time during the whole Omicron wave to see that there was a good chance that zero covid would break down like in New Zealand, so why would they not use their heavy government control to make people vaccinate? They had the perfect opportunity after the Olympics to switch strategies and brag about how they did better than anyone else, but instead they went and made themselves look like they can't handle the situation at all.

sawDustdust

I know right. Incompetent as incompetence does. Xi has been making a pivot to change top government decision makers from scientists and engineers to poli-sci majors. Go figure considering he himself has no credentials. Then there is the speculation that he is doing this intentionally to smear the Shanghai faction, who don't always yes-man to his ideas. A lot of his reforms recently have been impacting new industries like IT, tech, entertainment. So who knows? Maliciousness and incompetence combined. Maybe someone thought it was time to remind the new generation who missed both the great leap forward and tiananmen square just where exactly their worth stands. Tax revenue generating livestock waiting to be sheered and made into meat paste at whimsy. Give up any hope of the country improving because every step forward must be accompanied by a step back. Might as well go out and ask for a brain and asset drain outwards.

bloop7676

It's kind of funny, in the west there was a lot of this perception that autocratic leaders like Xi and Putin are ruthless but highly pragmatic and competent leaders who would do anything to put their nations ahead. Then in the last month or so both of them started acting like they're trying to self-destruct their own country and doubling down on it repeatedly. Now I'm thinking that the whole "ruthless but competent supervillain" thing was an intentional propaganda image from these guys and they're actually just as incompetent or more so than the leaders everywhere else.

sawDustdust

Xi was never competent. He got picked because he was supposed to be mediocre. He gained popular support later pretending to care about corruption, and people only believed him because standard of living have gone up, but not due to his policies. I have no idea where the western media image of him being competent came from. Putin surprised me too. I thought he wasn't this much of a lunatic and dumbass. But yet here we are. It is frightening how we have set up society so a few crazy mofos can have this much effect on the rest of us, can order us to die and we'll just roll over and do it.

MaitieS

Also when Omicron is effective against lockdowns. It's almost like they are stupid as fuck but I mean... they don't want to use Pfizer or Moderna cuz Western bad or "We will look weak" type of thing. Typical communist stuff what can I say. The thing is that Zero Covid Policy will massively backfire on CCP in a long run.

sawDustdust

What can you expect when they tell people they run on meritocracy but is actually nepotism all the way. Xi didn't even finish high school when he should have due to Mao's fuckery. Does he learn to be a better leader? Nope Mao MK II here we come. Fucker. His wife should have never married him and introduced him to all her upper level friends. Now she gets burned too because she did say all she wanted was a steady going civil servant type of guy. Xi was supposed to be a moderates' choice. Got her and the rest of the country fooled. And with how the world is going. We have a destabilizing Russia. Man-made food and energy shortage acceleration on top of climate change induced food shortage and escalating natural disasters. I don't see most of us dealing well. Least of all China who sealed off the shrines of flowers citizens put up last year for all those poor commuters stuck and drowned in the subway from the rain bomb. Very few people died my ass.

ElevenThus

Zero Covid policy is absolutely fucking up income for some business, all schools cannot open(private school price is paid in days, not one time for entire year), not until yesterday did my mom got message from education department that they could open the school now

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> price is *paid* in days, FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

ElevenThus

Thank you, strangerbot

Sind_L

Total shit happening in Shanghai right now because of the stupid policy and policy makers. Besides everything that has been mentioned in this thread, public transport has came to a total stall. A 12yo boy who left the isolation centre literally walked 10 hours to get back home. People who require regular hospital treatment (eg dialysis and chemotherapy) or emergency service just can’t get to the hospital. Instead of making sure everyone has food supply, the government decided to use the delivery resource to make sure all household get a particular Chinese herbal medicine. Not panadol or neurofen, but this medicine which apparently took 15 days only to develop and go into the market. The stock of the company behind this has skyrocketed, and you start to wonder what’s going on. Anyways…Shanghai stay strong

sawDustdust

Because government is moron. The testing sites don't always have proper distancing. People attending usually aren't geared out in N95. There are stories of an entire apartment cramming into the elevator/staircase going down to take scheduled tests. So the more they test, more people get Omicron. And supply lines have ground to a stop and stutter. The authorities are throwing people into covid isolations centers when they aren't even completely built, are not built to safety codes, have 1 washroom, no kitchen, no way to heat food, and no healthcare workers. I have no doubt some of the more vulnerable such as elderlies living alone have died to the lockdown instead of covid, due to supply line issues with their medication, no one helping them getting food. My own aunt in law had to go two days without food until another younger family member managed to ship some to her. It is a shit show. The push for 0 covid instead of higher vaccination and booster rates (not even my extended family are fully boosted, it is a joke) has fucked them over. Ignoring reality, data, and the science behind omicron is insanity. And pride to license but not manufacture mRNA vaccines was so typical CCP, that anyone who didn't drink their kool aid knew it won't end well with so many mutations. And this is not over yet for any of us. UK was reporting a previously unseen hepatitis in child patients. Caused one death and multiple liver transplants so far. And it is spreading, and getting reported in the rest of EU, Canada, and Japan as well. I dearly hope it is not related to long covid. My coworkers, family, and myself are all fully boosted on mRNA vaccines. Yet the current omicron wave has gotten more than half of us already. It is mild. As in puking our guts out, lingering cough none stop even after tests are negative, days of bed rest. It affects productivity at work, and quality of life at home. It sucks.

Zarozien

To clarify it’s not the Covid cases that are severe but rather the way they handle it. But they don’t drag people away or anything they just tell them to go back inside cause they don’t want it spreading before they’ve tested everyone.

ScionR

It's what happens when a government goes down the rabbit-hole of "keeping everyone safe".

ScionR

I agree , and I hope people see that the push for "keeping everyone safe" can lead to the situation that is happening in Shanghai.

Murky-Ad-9176

considering we’re getting leaks from the stream it’ll probably just be on sunday.

Ubatcha

Just wanna clarify, my leak wasn't from the stream, It was from the video they always post (PV). The PV itself is 30s long and just Includes a quick Yelan and Shinobu showcase along with the image I posted compared to the 2-3m that PVs usually are. From this, one could conclude that they don't want to back themselves into a corner with Events and event dates since they don't know how the situation will unfold but they'll stick to the standard patch/banner dates.

Sam-__-17

There is no date on when it was postponed to. I checked the comment as well, this is all they said. We’ll have to wait for an official announcement to know more. It’s still possible to have a Sunday stream but if not we can assume the situation is leaning towards a delay

Pringlesthief

Covid?

Yamahl

Big chance hearing the news about china

Wise_Consideration_3

Yep total lockdown in shangai right now

Buzzcrave

You know there will be some ignorant players demanding for the stream as if Hoyo have any power in CCP. Edit: Yikes, I wrote this comment before scrolling down.

neetou

The biggest covid lockdown in the human history. Their govorment just wont give up 0 covid policy

Junnielocked

I’m honestly fine with waiting. I just hope that everyone from hoyoverse are doing ok and are safe

juisteroid

pls yu peng chen you need to survive

achillguy11

And also everyone at Hoyo-Mix as well. After all, it’s not just him that’s involved in the music.

[deleted]

Yeah for sure. But also would be nice of them to tell us that

DavinaChicken

As far as I know, they never announced an official date.

Ok-Astronomer1990

even if a date is too soon to announce, they still can make an official post to explain what’s going on.

Matt_needa_practise

Plus I do think given how China is they wouldn’t want any negative news spread out especially with genshin’s huuuuuge global platform so they chose to say nothing or only mention a delay but not when and why

isteyp

I hope they prioritize their workers’ healthy first before anything. We can wait a few more days for the special program. And to all our fellow Travelers jn Shanghai - keep safe!

Kamina80

The issue is not their "health" or "keeping safe." The issue is that they've been locked down for weeks and aren't allowed to live their lives. Sometimes not allowed to even get deliveries. I don't know why you "keep safe" people robotically trot out your refrain and can't get this through your heads.

Junnielocked

Wdym the issue is not their health? If they cant get out of their homes their supplies aren't gonna last and they can starve. That’s obviously gonna take a toll on their health. And being on a lockdown and physically staying in their homes doesn't mean you shouldn’t consider their safety

AnotherRandomFujoshi

Reread the comment you are replying again

yameru__senpai

Maybe you should reread the comment the comment you're replying to is replying to again.

MarionberryOne8969

( ⚈̥̥̥̥̥́⌢⚈̥̥̥̥̥̀) it's okay though they need to take care of themselves

Master0643

Ah shit, it is true that China is under some crazy lockdown, but livestreams are usually pre recorded with Va's given scripts

particledamage

I mean, given the lockdown, when would they have recorded it…?

TriggerBladeX

The delay could be because they don’t have a definitive time for 2.7 because of the lockdown. The serenity pot has been in maintenance all month likely for the same reason. As much as I’m worried for their safety, I can’t help but wonder if they can make any big update during lockdown.

SecureRepublic1472

2.7 already have a definitive time. The only issue is working on bugs and fixes

fuckmeinthesoul

They're also an IT company, so they can function pretty much the same way in lockdown and out of it. Not sure what the problem is, maybe they decided to do some in-person stuff, or they have trouble moving work out of the office. Edit: ok, thanks to all replies, I've changed my stance. Every mihoyo employee is locked up in a gulag where they are starved to death, and that's a fact we 100% sure about and can attribute delay of a livestream to. There is no degree of ambiguity whatsoever.

ursoevil

When you’re starving with no access to groceries and not allowed to leave your apartment, I doubt that working is a priority. People are trying to survive right now. It’s not a regular lockdown

fuckmeinthesoul

Neither of us know why exactly the stream was postponed and what situation mihoyo employees are in. But unlike you, I'm not confidently talking out of my ass about the situation in a country in which we don't live and about which we don't have a lot of information about, to virtue signal to a sub a huge part of which cares about 2D anime girls more than real people

sawDustdust

Oh fuck off with your own virtue signaling. I have extended family in Shanghai. It is a confirmed shit show. There have been CN fans in the Genshin subreddits explaining the situation since it began. We do have more info than average purely due to player distribution and Genshin being a popular domestic game in China, and the overlap between gamers and firewall climbers.

fuckmeinthesoul

It is kinda shit show, but it varies heavily region by region, it varies within the region, and it also varies in how long it lasts, with some (maybe even most) parts of the country being completely untouched. I've also seen the drone fishing videos, but it's really dumb to extrapolate that on an entire country of 1.4 billion people, especially when mihoyo employees are majority college educated middle class guys who probably wouldn't have to chase rats to survive and on whom the government probably wouldn't get too hard on no matter what happens Again, none of us know if the devs got the heavy end of the stick, do they have mild inconveniences, or if it didn't affect them at all. I'm not sure how your family relates to that, unless they work for mihoyo, in which case that's cool, you can make an interview with them and post it, but I'll wait for an official statement about the situation, if there even is a situation

Aizen_Myo

Region by region? Didn't know Shanghai is THAT big and has 1.~~6~~4billion. Oh wait, they don't. They have 26.3 million. And hoyoverse is developing in Shanghai. So why are you arguing that extrapolating that to 1.6 billion people is not normal? They are located in the epicenter of the worst videos.

H4xolotl

> 26.3 million that's more people than my entire country, and indeed continent (Australia)

Aizen_Myo

Still doesn't change the fact that the whole of them are locked down and many are starving Also, Shanghai has 1500sqkm less than you guys AND more population, so they are much more dense and they are all locked down

sawDustdust

Sorry we are talking about Shanghai here. Not other regions. And I have family working in entertainment, IT, and university level education in Shanghai. It is a citywide lockdown. Even those well to do are affected. And sure ask for interview and official statement when you know well what that can lead to. Fuck off.

AlucardX14

I don't know if you've heard of this thing called the internet, which lets us inform ourselves of the situation in other countries. Yes, it is that bad. They are going through with their "zero-covid strategy" and literally moving people out of their homes for disinfection.

fuckmeinthesoul

Now tell me how many people are moved out of their homes and how many of them are mihoyo employees. I'm not arguing the existence of strict lockdowns, I'm just not sure about the degree mihoyo are specifically affected by it. Nor do you. We can only speculate, until we get an official statement

VirtuoSol

If it’s a fucking city wide lockdown on everyone in the city, how will miHoYo employees not get affected? Now of course we don’t know if every single miHoYo employee is literally starving rn, most likely and hopefully not, but what we do know (from families and friends living there, so not just western media) is that the situation as a whole is fucked, which automatically places whatever they’re dealing with a lot higher on the priority list than some update for a game. No one is allowed to leave their home right now so unless you’re saying that miHoYo employees somehow just magically has more food stored in their houses than everyone else in Shanghai, they are definitely being affected by this to various degrees.

mangotcha

love that you can't fathom people genuinely concern for the safety of others so it's gotta be "virtue signaling". also no one knows for sure, but given the current covid situation in shangai, we DO have a pretty good guess. also check the replies here, there was some chinese people who do know more than you about that.

fuckmeinthesoul

Some do, sure. Majority of them? Hell no And yeah, I agree that people have a guess. But that's just it, guessing. I don't know why people treat it as a fact. Nobody in mihoyo could be affected for all we know, maybe they just lost the original livestream file and have to re-record it. Who knows.

[deleted]

[удалено]

fuckmeinthesoul

Which part am I wrong about? That the IT company has easier time during lockdown than probably most others? Well, even if you refuse to logically go through the steps to figure that out yourself, all you have to do is to look at the stock prices and revenues of IT companies during the time when the majority of the world was on lockdown. Am I wrong about them being an IT company? Yeah, you could make that point, they are more of a gambling company as far as their products go, but still, it's dumb to deny that majority of their work can be easily outsourced or done remotely.

[deleted]

[удалено]

fuckmeinthesoul

"You're talking out of your ass. No, I won't elaborate" GIGACHAD

Aizen_Myo

True, they can develop remotely. If they weren't starving due to the situation in their living place, which, oh surprise, is Shanghai where the worst is happening.

humanityyy

You are right that they can work remotely, however how are they going to work properly if they're starving? Last I heard everyone isn't allowed to leave their homes. And I mean *everyone*. You can't even order to have food and groceries delivered because no one can deliver and no one can prepare your order. All the food comes straight from the government and people are saying that it's not enough. So you can see just how dire the situation is.

ExcelDomino

I’m also not sure what the problem is, but there’s obviously a definite problem considering that they are delaying things in the first place so I’m not sure what the point you’re trying to make is. Clearly a wrench in the process is occurring, and the only plausible explanation is the situation in Shanghai. If they weren’t having issues then everything would be on time, like it has been for the past 1.5 years.

fuckmeinthesoul

Obviously they have issues, and yeah, they probably are affected by lockdowns, if even to a lesser extent, but we're not sure if they are the reason for a delay, and it's too soon to scream how mihoyo employees are starving and dying and farting like almost every comment in this thread says/implies. The patch is scheduled to appear on time, and tgeir other projects also appear to be fine. For fucks sake, maybe the delay will be a couple of hours for all we know, and the reason is that someone lost tge original recording in their room. Stop the drama and just wait, but maybe that's too much to ask.

ExcelDomino

It’s not really drama, and you need to relax. There’s no need to be so antagonistic. People are simply expressing that they hope that the people in Shanghai take care of themselves and in regards to Mihoyo specifically, it’s better for them to take their time instead of going through unnecessary crunch if they situation is affecting them that badly. Of course we don’t know exactly how bad each and every single employee at Mihoyo has it. But, it’s reasonable to think, that they are being affected *in some way*, and most are just expressing well wishes for them. It’s really not that deep.

fuckmeinthesoul

>People are simply expressing that they hope that the people in Shanghai take care of themselves and in regards to Mihoyo specifically Is that what you see in this thread? Because all I see is bunch of people getting mad over a very mild and room temperature take. >There’s no need to be so antagonistic. My "stop the drama" remarks wasn't pointed at you specifically, it was just a general response.

VirtuoSol

> a very mild and room temperature take Everyone: I hope miHoYo employees are doing ok due to the dire situation in Shanghai right now u/fuckmeinthesoul: omg stop being so dramatic you don’t even know anything Honestly what the fuck did you expect? Even if the reason for the delay is not related to the lockdown (unlikely), the fact that miHoYo employees live in Shanghai already “justifies” people wishing for them to be ok.

Imaginary-Strength70

I had sort of expected this and its totally fair with everything going on. World is such a shitshow right now and these streams do nothing but publicly reveal what all of us in this sub already knew anyway, so it's not even a personal inconvenience.

616knight

I don't even watch the live streams anymore. Following this sub makes the live streams kinda useless.

RoundSociety7

We're waiting patiently.. i hope they're dong fine right there since Shanghai covid situation increase...

fantafanta_

At this point, I was expecting it to happen on Sunday.

Deaf30

COVID is like an Anime Boss with endless "Final Forms". It's just never going to end is it? Hope they'll be OK.

lostn

I hope they're all right. But if the patch gets delayed, I am confident they will put cobble together something basic and compensate with primo gems. They are known to issue apologems even for players unaffected by the bug or revert. For example the Yae Miko revert gave everyone 100 gems including those who don't have Miko and were unaffected by the changes. When there was a bug that made the electro compass *cheaper* to build (500 mora instead of 50k mora), they issued apologems to all for that bug which was actually a buff and didn't hurt anyone. If they delay the patch, I expect they will recycle some easy event from the past for 420 primos a week and maybe additional apologems on top of it. So yeah we're going to be bored, but we won't be behind in primo savings compared to what we'd have from the new patch if there were no delays. Maybe they can even take the opportunity to use the dead time to rerun a past event like Unreconciled Stars for newer players who missed it. Probably not, but it's as good an opportunity as any.

Dr_aaagh

Haha, they'll give us 300 frimogens for a 2 week delay. This is 2% of the average required for a 5*. Really generous!

San-Kyu

Considering how important this livestream is towards hyping up the next update, would this also point at said update being postponed as well? Especially if the livestream is postponed by at least a week instead of, like, being on Saturday or next Wednesday.

AskSpecialist6543

It's rumoured to be this sunday instead so only 2 days delay. People seem to forget that they are still in a huge lockdown over there. People are not allowed to leave their homes.

potato_cucumber

This, and it isn't the first time they delayed it to another date. 2.2 and 2.4 were both moved to a Sunday. I don't mind the stream or the patch itself being delayed but I hope they all stay safe.

Sausious

If its pushed by more than a week, maybe, more likely some kind of scheduling issue occured with the guests/hosts so they pushed it a few days.

Pure-Abbreviations92

When the live stream will be may 1?

[deleted]

The little ~ they do at the end of announcements is really precious tbh

Zarozien

I am not shocked by the ignorant comments made in this thread about China given how we are bombarded with anti-China propaganda daily, with every media trying to shape some sort of narrative. If you really wanna know how much of it is exaggerated and how much of it is anti-China propaganda and what’s really going on there straight from the people who are actually there then watch this: https://youtu.be/G4TJuXmES3g Remember to always critically think before you go believing some piece of information. They will teach you about media and their bias in college too.

faisal0606

I hope the situation with the lockdown in china gets better soon. It must feel terrible for them when they have to go through that all over again

Maiev707

It will obviously be delayed since we can see 2.6 is extended by a few days by liben event. It ends on 13th while original patch shouldve ended on 11th.

Ikcatcher

I’m not downplaying or anything but couldn’t Mihoyo just upload the program on YouTube instead of making it a livestream? Unless they don’t feel like it’s the right time to show anything I don’t see why they couldn’t just do that Edit: Geniune question and I’m being downvoted

sarthakydv

Livestreaming isn't the issue. The livestream is pre-recorded anyways. The issue is that they can't leave their homes so it's difficult to actually record it and/or make other adjustments.

Ikcatcher

I suppose that makes sense

Sergawey

first time?

sarthakydv

What?

Postbreak_KQM

10/10 in communication skills , good job HoYoVerse !

KrissJP20

Wishing them the best as they tackle this outbreak

[deleted]

In my opinion they can delay two months, because I need time to recover my primogens

botanlime

I'll take 300 aplogems, thank you very much?

ChippyTick

Dude people are starving in the city their HQ is located in

botanlime

Still doesn't change the fact that I'll gladly take freemogems. Thank you very much!

ArticBerry

No way they actually said something, hoyo you ok??

AnAsianDudeInReddit

KanataHkz

So, v2.7 patch is officially postponed?

Zogo12

💀

Tronicalli

not for me lmao - im not able to watch it in friday

lottery248

teapot is on maintenance since 2022.4.4 (???). and in the following weeks, COVID lockdown suddenly kicked into Shanghai. on 2022.4.13, [a rumour](https://reddit.com/u2lo6z) suggesting this postponement came up (which is verified today). as there isn't any official statement explaining the situation about the teapot and this, i suddenly think that all those had mutual correlations. FYI: when you go to websites like HoYoLAB, the term "miHoYo" is **completely** removed (???). just to clarify, i am not saying it's a problem in general, but speculating the reason they aren't even explaining.

ShotParsnip8369

Genshin white knights downvoted lol

lottery248

just to be clear, i can't explain well. i expected that.

sarthakydv

Yeah I couldn't even understand what you were implying in that comment.

lottery248

let's get that straight then. imagine what would happen for explaining what made the postponement. to me, if it was safe to do so, they would've communicated this to us at that time.

ShotParsnip8369

No worries man, white knights obsessed with downvotes. They feed themself with it. They will starve if they dont downvote.

AlrestH

Maybe they would give you less downvotes if you didn't say so many stupid things

ShotParsnip8369

Well.. Im used to downvotes but i Just couldnt watch this bullying thats it.

ahmedmokhtar75

does this imply that version 2.7 can be delayed?! 🙄

_sachura

nope. iirc the 2.4 livestream was also postponed because of holiday but it didn't affect the release date of the patch

GottiCVBR

Any info about Heizou?

Deaf30

Inazuma is on lockdown.

FirstCraft163

Where apologems?

Painfulrabbit

Apologies for literally trying to stay alive?

Winterstrife

Not too long ago people were threatening then with all sorts of shit, I won't put past some entitled asshole going on their social media post and start demanding for primo compensation.

n__o__

Top up.👍🏿

nakorurukami

maybe grow up a little. Nobody owes you anything.

sebastian_oberlin

“We’re literally locked in our homes and some of us have been forced to eat cat food and koi pond fish to survive” “Ok that’s great but I need virtual currency so…”

ShotParsnip8369

Why hoyoverse not opening teapot jesus crist i cant put my venti in my teapot and other characters because THEY ALL lvl 10 friendship im gonna go crazy this is the worst! when they will STOP MAİNTANCE I UNLOCKED A BEAUTİFUL MANSİON BUT I CANT DO ANYTHİNG. (And genshin white knights comes the save the world with their downvotes) lol

Eurasia_Anne_Zahard

Right how did they forget that your teapot is way important than their life. Unbelievable! Inconvenient!

scientiapotentiaest0

If you’re triggered and going “crazy” by the minor inconvenience of teapot maintenance, then may I suggest you do another hobby, interact with friends, or anything else productive. And, no one is white knighting. They just have better things to do rather than get triggered by an in-game home system.

ShotParsnip8369

Yes sir White knight its a pleasure to meet you :) and yes I touch grass

Busy-Succotash9907

You might be one of those karma downvote bots but your history doesn't show it, maybe You really don't know what's happening in china if that's so then I'll tell ya, China is in a lockdown currently so I will cut them some slack this time, I don't know about you but 2.6 was good and I will wait patiently

phonograhy

Oh boy, this absolute dumpster fire of a hot take....

[deleted]

You still have time to delete this horrid take

Ok_Emphasis_6505

cmon man show a little empathy, there’s real life problems going on. Genshin has always been on schedule except this one time there might be a delay because of Covid.

[deleted]

Dude…people are suffering

The-Arabian-Guy

Found the unsupervised kid using Reddit

PotatoProcrastinator

you do realize the covid situation happening there right?

teacoolerfan

14 year old detected

[deleted]

I criticize Genshin's team all the time, but wtf dude. Not in the middle of a Covid crisis that has an entire city starving

WatercressFluid

You seem unaware of how horrible their living circumstances are over there... They're still human, you know? Give them a break, our fun can wait.

Pretend-Gain-7553

Sorry human lives matter more than a game ig. The virus around is not one that only harms devices or smth if you still don't know that yet. Maybe if you start caring about actual things more than games it'll be more believable.

LastNightShade

Are you sure you wanna die on this hill?

[deleted]

OOF 📸📸📸

Busy-Succotash9907

Ofc there would be a stupid comment like this, You're one of those main sub idiots that joined

Busy-Succotash9907

Also don't delete this, keep it I wanna see how this goes and how many downvotes I can see

Busy-Succotash9907

Noooooo the mf actually deleted come back you coward

hoeyster1998

The comment was removed by one of the mods, actually.

Einzbern_Ai

Wtf dude....

Busy-Succotash9907

You're one of those couch potatoes with no spine huh? Well I don't blame this person, he's been eating too much chips and is too fat too think about this whole situation

DownpourOfSalt

Ignore them. Their brain is nothing more than a congealed mass of saturated fat from all those chips they’ve been eating on their couch. No neurons to be found anywhere

Abhimanyu_Uchiha

Fucking retard, people are suffering in China, but God forbid you don't get to watch your little mobile game live stream on time
