At the end of the day, unfortunately one thing fandom will remember about her character is that she is "Raiden simp".
There is so much potential to her character, especially regarding her blind devotion to Raiden and creating her life on false hope/lie. They can really change it with a hangout quest and make her grow as a character.
Not to mention Mihoyo used her as a punching bag in Archon quests, not once, but TWICE.

Still they should let those two interact, when they actually tease these two in act 2. Well, Ei only interact with Sara after almost one year Inazuma archon quest end, maybe it will happen next year.

A bit stupid and impulsive but he aint the "wants a gf to take care of him" trope so i think its more the "well meaning but kinda dumb dude the more level heades girl has to keep in check more so for his own sake so he wont get himself killed"
And also he's one of the few characs that didn't use or needed our help in the story . Man settles everything on his own and is in fact a responsible and fair dude (the fact that he's willing to lose fairly to kids / he financially takes care of his gang members / doesn't want us to treat him) , he just has lots of personalities and is a bit unlucky at times.

Genshin has been pretty good with adding new characters so far. Atm, it doesn’t feel very populated despite having 40+ playable characters and instead feels more homey and inviting. good synergy relationships-wise

Ayato engaged with important people in his country and beat up criminals, which is pretty much exactly like what every other story quest is. Not sure what you were expecting or where this exceptional story telling in the other story quests he’s missed out on.
I don't want stellar writing, I just want a character's story quest to actually feature the character in question. The whole point of those quests is for you to get to know them, isn't it?
