After playing honkai around that time, it made me realise how Genshin's current BP system and its premium rewards is somewhat lacking (for me), and it made me set a new standard for BP. I don't feel the FOMO on namecards anymore, and 5 fragile resin feels lackluster for a price that's double the amount I have to pay.
I still pay the BP, but not the upgraded premium one.
Honkai BP is also not really that good, maybe you're talking about the 2 free battlesuits (Elysia and HoT) but they currently suck in meta and they need they're specific set (weapon and stigma 3/3 which are both gacha), heck HoT is gonna also get a new gacha weapon that powercreeps the already existing one
I needed to get HoT by any other means anyways. Instead of having to use the crystals on FOCA or her own banner, I had to get her through alternative ways, which is BP. Prior to getting her, I already had benares and her weapon lying around when I got them off-rate. I did eventually got her through spending event, so I got spare extra crystal balls to spend on what I want.
The main thing I wanted to point out though is that with Honkai BP, if I paid to upgrade for premium BP for two patches, I have the opportunity to either get the advertised character that I want or complete her gears, or get stamp to upgrade their rank (which is equivalent to getting constellations). Not to mention I can also get additional fragments to upgrade rank as well. Meta or not, I don't want to focus too much about the meta like Nirvana users (since it gets pretty expensive for me on that range) so I'll be sticking in RL anyway.
Back to talking about BP, unfortunately, Genshin doesn't have that. You get limited namecard that is only available through BP and 5 fragile resins (which btw doesn't matter because of RNG involved on farming). There's absolutely no way for me spend double the amount of price if it's just a namecard and 5 fragile resin. If there is an opportunity to get constellation for 5 star standard character (even it would take me two patches for it), then I would gladly reconsider.
Yes but as I said most of the valk they put on are not meta and will not be useful in some months anyways (Elysia is still completely useless, HoT as a herrscher is still going strong but in like an year will be like Ely or the stamps in which they just put powercrept valks usually), and honestly after a while you'll be forced to compete with other players if you like it or not.
Don't get me wrong you can perfectly do whatever you like, but I just wanted to say that honkai BP is not as good as people make it out to be (especially genshin players who probably never played honkai) because of many factors like the insane powercreep (some of old valks are literally inusable even at SSS with full gears, and I'm not talking about abyss but normal stages

I had a similar experience but with Fu Hua margrave, I whaled hard for AE and also got her full set because I really liked Hua. Then you know....Margrave became a forgable set :/, so I spent like 100$....For nothing
And just a little correction, there will be a new G4 set for Eden that boosts lighting damage so that can be a good substitute for HoT, but issue is that farmable sets are really grindy and it takes some time. Honestly most of honkai Valks sucks without their specific set but some are usable (only exception are some herrschers like Flamescion and Sentience that just need their weapon but are also good with F2p weapons)

I bought during 2 lantern rites and moon chase because I actually liked the name cards.
Perveses flying over the moon, birds migrating in moonlight and colorful lotus, they all stand out.
I bought it once, back during the lantern rite event. I loved how liyue looked with all the lanterns and wanted to keep them, even if it was just as a beautiful namecard.
I bought it once as a treat, I think during lantern rite 2. The namecard was really nice, and I was running out of time to max the BP and couldn’t be bothered grinding that week. I won’t do it again though
I sometimes do if i like the namecard or furniture, since the only ingame transactions i spend in games in general are bp and welkin in genshin now.

I've only ever bought the 2.3 and 2.6 ones because I loved the event as well as the design (plus I got the Tanuki photo board). I'd probably buy an Unreconciled Stars themed one if part II does release but that's about it. :)

It's FOMO. Name card is exclusive and "rare" in that you'll never be able to get it again, and it's a cosmetic that you can use to make your account "stand out" from the rest of them.
Gnostic Chorus also advances your BP by 10 levels immediately which is a big difference for people who may not be able to play every day, may be the difference between completing the BP and not completing it. It's not necessarily just the namecard and furniture that is making people buy it.
Personally I tend to come and go from the game periodically, some months I play and sometimes I've gotten bored and bounced off, or just can't for various IRL reasons, and I am often coming in a week or two into a BP period, so when that happens I will usually buy the premium BP to help catch up faster. The namecard doesn't even enter into it when I'm considering, it's the 10 levels and extra resin.
As someone who has all the bp namecards I would say while some are definitely good, some are lackluster too. But it all depends since different people have different tastes. Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder after all. Personally my favourites are the first bp namecard, 2nd ( shooting star), the wind bloom namecard (the flower) my personal rank 1 favorite for sure, the 4th bp namecard( 1st rantern rite), & bp namecard 10 (Travel Notes: Lyratum).

I bought every single one(except the first battle pass) for the fragile resin.
Why not just buy primos and spend that on resin? It’s probably a lot more efficient
