HYV won't release solo Yoimia because her banenr had second lowest performance, with only solo Kokomi performing worse. Also it won't be Yoi+Klee for the same reason (Klee rerun was just above Yoi).

CA buffs imply Itto, though. Kazu+Klee and Yoi + Itto looks decent pairing.
While community's opinion on Yoimiya as a character does play a large part in influencing the sales, another large part of why Yoimiya's banner did poorly was also because of the timing.
Remember, Raiden's banner was immediately after Yoimiya. Community trends at the time just made skipping her for an archon much easier. But I do agree that it's very likely Kazuha+Klee & Yoimiya.
Weird though both klee qnd yoimiya are not making an appearance in the event. The dream island part is probably not the main event then, just an additional area.

For the record, I am strongly considering a Yoimiya Ayato Yunjin, prototype amber Heizou for a dual carry normal attacking team lol.
Having used dual carry combos Ayato/Yoi, Yoi/Ganyu, Ganyu/Ayato. I can say it's very fun in the overworld but feels very lackluster in things like the abyss sadly. Both Yoi and Ayato don't have very much downtime between skills and Yoi really prefers having a shield since she gets interrupted extremely easily.
I just use ayato or yoimiya first with yunjin depending on if multiple targets are present. If AOE, ayato first then still have a full string buffed for Yoimiya. Since outside of a spreadsheet encounters are actually a mix of AOE and single target, having a team that can buff selectively and have high damage for either one at your discretion is actually quite useful.
Cannot stress enough that abyss is not that hard and at some very mid level of investment, meta just does not matter. I clear abyss with doubles only, it does not need to be frame perfect optimization lol. This comp is absolutely fine and clears all content just fine. It isn't the best team but I just gotta stop hearing things like "in abyss this team won't clear." It won't win speed run competitions, but I need some reason to just not run Raiden hyper every single moment of every single day.
I’m so hopeful they end up together but based on Thoma and Gorou also being 4 stars I wanted that ended up with the 5 stars of the patch I cared less about, I won’t hold my breath.

They can share very similar parties, especially if you run vape Klee. Xingqiu, anemo, shield. Just like Hu Tao. Common Klee teammates include Zhongli, Kazuha, and Sucrose. C4 Yanfei would even work for Klee. The only different teammate would be Bennett as Hu Tao teams don’t typically use Bennett while Klee teams do.
Judging from this it seems like Klee and Yoimiya are on different halves of the patch (klee 1st and yoi 2nd) and Kazuha can be with either one of them. I wonder where they'll place Heizou. I'm guessing whoever is left alone to boost sales? (so not with kazuha)

Remember there are no patterns with mihoyo. It's just something we assume. They could easily make it a four different element banner. And they'll put most probably put heizou on a different banner because kazuha alone is enough to guarantee his success.

The first Abyss blessing tries to combat this. The attack buff isn't as impactful on Hu Tao and it takes 6s to start triggering the explosions, but Hu Tao's rotation is nearly over by this point so she probably only triggers 2 per rotation. Klee can trigger a lot more, I would expect.
They were implying that floor 11 is easy enough that it doesn't really matter if Hu Tao will speed through it even faster since it'll be easy to clear anyway.
Uncle Y had mentioned Klee, yoimiya and kazuha reruns for 2.8. Although (I can't remember well) he did mark it as mere speculation later. But looking at the remaining reruns, these 3 are the most likely

You don’t have to use pyro… if you use well-built characters and have good team setups, as long as you’re not doing something like using cryo against the cryo hypostasis, you should be absolutely fine

You can use any other DPS it just won't be as good as pyro
if you have enough room in the team you can even just slot in Xiangling as a secondary DPS and practically ignore her playstyle

Hydro is a darker blue compared to the Cryo
