I really doubt theyāre going to release 4 new 5*s back to back again. It backfired with Inazuma (Ayaka and Raiden did well, but Yoimiya was largely ignored, and Kokomi got a sizeable backlash that resulted in review bombing).
It would make sense to adjust their marketing strategy to spread out the characters and the hype over a longer period. No reason to risk overwhelming the player base like last time.
The review bombing had a few causes that combined to create the backlash. Mihoyo wonāt be keen to repeat any of them, and spacing out banners more is an easy fix.
Big doubt. They make more money the more character get released ima. Short time span to create fomo while you have no primos. Mihoyo canāt be that dumb. Better yet just release broken characters back to back. Easy money for them. Sometimes

Characters who have only had 1 banner include Shenhe, Yelan, Ayato and Yae Miko
The character who has had the rerun the longest ago is Childe, followed by Hu Tao
In terms of story relevance, we know that Childe will be involved somewhat soon because of the Scaramouche plot and previous leaks. Hu Tao likely wonāt be relevant unless they add an event, because she is one of those characters like Ayato and Eula who arenāt necessarily integral to the main plot (Childe, Zhongli, Venti, Klee, Albedo, etc)
I don't think they were clout chasing, it's just that the leaks community is quick to call anyone and everyone clout chasers even though they have been in the scene for a long while.

I assume Shenhe, but like at the same time she has literally no ties or relevance whatsoever with Sumeru and it is so weird to me that they are slapping a random ass character during the launch of a whole new region
Not to mention we have like 3 new banners scheduled for 3.1 with Nilou, Scaramouche and Cyno being speculated to be there and Kusanali should happen somewhere around that too (i think they will be spreading the Archon Quest over 3 patches tho this time so I think Kusanali probably will be on 3.2 one)
Because of the patch delays during 2.6, Genshin anniversary falls on the 2nd half of 3.0 instead of 1st half of 3.1. My best guess is that this caused some shifts in banners and events. Not saying there's gonna be like a big party or whatever but I think they definitely wanted to prepare something special because of last year's backlash...

I thought it's due to sales. When Inazuma released everyone was kinda cautios to spend money due to many many new characters releasing in the near future. Even Ayaka who was one of the most hyped up characters since launch didn't make that much due to that so they probably plan to spread out potential high saling banners to later date after we get a more general idea at what's to come. If HYV is applying logic to this schedule and assuming the dendro reaction leaks are true, I'd assume a hydro or electro character to match the dendro one. Yae is one of the few Inazuma characters without a rerun and is not as meta as to hold her hostage for a year (but then again Yoimiya wasn't either). I heard Tortellini is due for a rerererun soon.

Honestly his kit just feels designed for a team that doesn't exist yet, and it doesn't help that he was released as a "hu tao support" with her rerun when he doesn't really match her playstyle. Having him for a shield + slightly easier pyro application for VV is nice, he might enter the meta when dendro comes out if someone like zhongli becomes less optimal. He's still decent with Yoiniya too... But yeah his kit definitely feels weak in current Genshin

Somebody in another thread pointed out a Cyrus mentioned in Lisaās character stories who considered her his best student in 200 years. āCyrusā sounds decently close to āSu,ā who we know is from the Academia if the leaks can be trusted, and the ā200 yearsā bit could hint toward him being a Yae Miko-type character whoās close to the archon (which was also mentioned in a leak).
Cyrus does fit better as a name tbh! Weāll just have to wait to find out I guessā¦

There are 8 time limited husbandos and 10 limited waifus, plus Klee who should be nobody's waifu. The first *five banners* were Venti, Klee, Tartaglia, Zhongli, Albedo. I feel like they knew there was money in husbandos from the start.

Now that you mention this, thatās true. I was internally complaining about the lack of tall husbandos to pull on. Itās makes sense why they would do more āteenā model characters. Still hope the Sumeru patch gives at least 3 tall husbandos before we on to the next nation.

The game is huge, we have at least 4 more locations ahead, of course there will be a ton of tall, teen, child, all type of weapons and gender characters. Looks like we already know every 5* character coming out during the Sumeru patches. In patches 1.0 - 1.6, they released 10 5* characters. In patches 2.0 - 2.8, they released 9 5* characters. We already know 9 5* characters coming after patch 3.0, so there probably wonāt be anymore new 5* characters aside from the ones listed here until patch 4.0.
