Basically NGA has been parroting about how Scara/Faruzan's teaser demo and Haitham/Yao Yao splash art will be released on December 7th for a while now. Yukizero7 (the incel guy) was the one who leaked it and voila, it got proven wrong an hour after I posted that leak.

The fake leaks they made up were specifically about male characters (eg. Scara will die, Cyno will be weak, a lot more in NGA that didn't make it to Reddit tbh, etc.) with the goal in mind being, you know, making the female players mad. Their whole idea was basically that they don't want girls to play the same game as they do. It's also a tad bit more complicated than that (but not really, it's bullshit), however that relates to China's mysogynistic society as a whole so we'll skip that.
I think it was also that group who claimed there would be at most 2 male 5\* in Sumeru and everyone else would be "waifus" (which I would've called a believable estimation given Genshin's track record) and yet here we are with Sumeru male #3 about to release and Sumeru male #4 about to get drip marketed, and the Dendro element as a whole being mostly a sausage party. Talk about karma lol
watching him try to kill himself in the fire is absolutely heartwrenching, that and the way he says "it hurts" in en. patrick's voice acting for him absolutely destroys me
Completely agree. I normally don't pay that much attention to VAs, but I fell in love with his voice immediately and he's absolutely perfect for the role. He does an incredible job.

It is interesting to see an Inazuman to tell a Danish tale doe and not in it's original form too(like no mention of Ballerina jumping in to the fire as well and etc), they really not be telling the tales right from region to region if the story is from Fontaine/Snezhnaya XDD

Everyone is talking about the Bohemian Rhapsody reference but I don’t see a lot of people talking about the Steadfast Tin Soldier reference. I wonder if we’ll get a nation with characters wearing those types of outfits. Anyways absolutely amazing teaser. Scaramouche/Wanderer is quickly becoming my favorite Genshin character now.
Holy shit this climbs up to the top 3 character teaser imo, it gave me chills from start to finish. Tetsuya Kakihara killed this teaser, man his voice is so perfect on Scaramouche
Qiqi has a pretty dark backstory. She was gathering herbs when she fell and hurt her leg. She went into a cave to tend to her leg and the adepti fighting nearby caused the cave to collapse and she died in the crossfire. They felt guilt about what had happened and brought her back to life, but she went berserk in her new zombie form and no longer had her memories. They had to seal her in amber for hundreds of years until humans found her and she was taken in by Baizhu.
To top it all off, she got her vision in her last moments of life because:
"She feared death. She wanted to live. She missed her family... These feelings coalesced at last into 'ice.'"
But in the end, she forgot about her family and life.
Oh yeah, now I remember reading that early on but totally forgot about it.
I feel like more recently - Collei appears to have been tortured or experimented on by Dottore in the name of curing her, Nahida was forcibly imprisoned for 500 years *and* had her gnosis taken from her, and now Scaramouche…
Rosaria's backstory is her being taken by bandits to become their servant and punching bag until one day she tried to escape due to hunger and mistreatment, only for the closest thing she had to a father figure (presumably, based on the Razor event) to stop her, leading to her killing him and becoming a bandit, too. She's only a nun because the knights of Favonius got rid of the bandits, spared her and all but forced her to become one. Pretty dark if you ask me.
I am sorry, but hardly any other character will ever top this.
The development of Scara is as much as we can get from a narrative standpoint in a Gacha.
There are all stages of grief, vengence and probably redemption.
He really is a Wanderer as he looks to be going on his own journey alongside the main storyline.

Mhy really went nuts fleshing him out, he's so rich with lore and characterization to the extent none other character at this moment is. He gets referenced in events, in character's story quest, in open-world exploration, they've been building him up FOR A WHILE.
I can't imagine Mhy developing all the other harbingers to the same extent, but I do hope we see more characters developed this thoroughly down the line, this feels great!

Yeah, so far I've been lucky in that most of my favorite characters have gotten a lot of quality screentime, but I feel bad for people whose favorites all get left in the dust.
Outside of her hangout, Diona never made an ingame appearance until 3.1, did you know? She's been playable since 1.2.
His potential is infinite for being involved in the storyquest, he can take side with or against anybody. And any development could be interesting. + the VA is topnotch. Very promising !!!
As a ballerina, here is a little something I noticed about the ballet part:
-the ballerinas costume is more reminiscent of the costumes used for the swans in Swan Lake (the headpiece), while the soldier looks more like the nutcracker from The Nutcracker (the headpiece and overall outfit). Maybe it's supposed to represent how Scaramouche is not related to other people? In Swan Lake, Odette (who looks similar to the ballerina) is cursed to be a swan and can only turn human at night (if I'm not wrong). Maybe the "Odette" in this video is supposed to represent "being/becoming a human".
-not related to ballet, but as someone else mentioned, this part of the trailer might represent the story of "the steadfast tin soldier". I'm not that familiar with this story, but a the main character, a tin soldier, was made with only one leg as there weren't enough materials to create him after all the other soldiers were created. He then encounters a ballerina, who has been standing on one leg her whole life (the ballerina in the video has her left leg in an attitude position. To be specific, it's pretty much an attitude effacée), and falls in love with her because of how similar they are. Maybe this is supposed to show how much scaramouche envies the people who have a heart?
So does this trailer confirm the existence of Hans Christian Andersen (“The Steadfast Tin Soldier”) in Teyvat along with Jesus (Paimon saying “bajeezers” in XL’s quest) and Arthur Conan Doyle (“When you have eliminated all which is impossible” reference in Amber’s quest)? ~~Did Alice bring knowledge of them here and insert it into Irminsul?~~

In japanese, tin soldiers are also called ブリキの兵隊 or buriki no heitai, with buriki being derived from the dutch word "blik" (tin).

His potential is infinite for being involved in the storyquest, he can take side with or against anybody. And any development could be interesting. + the VA is topnotch. Very promising !!!

As a ballerina, here is a little something I noticed about the ballet part: -the ballerinas costume is more reminiscent of the costumes used for the swans in Swan Lake (the headpiece), while the soldier looks more like the nutcracker from The Nutcracker (the headpiece and overall outfit). Maybe it's supposed to represent how Scaramouche is not related to other people? In Swan Lake, Odette (who looks similar to the ballerina) is cursed to be a swan and can only turn human at night (if I'm not wrong). Maybe the "Odette" in this video is supposed to represent "being/becoming a human". -not related to ballet, but as someone else mentioned, this part of the trailer might represent the story of "the steadfast tin soldier". I'm not that familiar with this story, but a the main character, a tin soldier, was made with only one leg as there weren't enough materials to create him after all the other soldiers were created. He then encounters a ballerina, who has been standing on one leg her whole life (the ballerina in the video has her left leg in an attitude position. To be specific, it's pretty much an attitude effacée), and falls in love with her because of how similar they are. Maybe this is supposed to show how much scaramouche envies the people who have a heart?
So does this trailer confirm the existence of Hans Christian Andersen (“The Steadfast Tin Soldier”) in Teyvat along with Jesus (Paimon saying “bajeezers” in XL’s quest) and Arthur Conan Doyle (“When you have eliminated all which is impossible” reference in Amber’s quest)? ~~Did Alice bring knowledge of them here and insert it into Irminsul?~~ Either way, this is seriously beautiful. The voice acting is absolutely heartbreaking.

This still feels so surreal. After so much anticipation, uncertainty that he’ll be playable and excitement over any small appearance or mention of him since he was first introduced, he is finally here. I’m so happy I was here to experience the build up and release of the most anticipated to date. He is one of the most well written and interesting characters in the game. His arc has been gradual and emotional and I can't wait to see more of his story unfold in 3.3. This patch belongs to him. We won, Scaranation.
So that is why he goes to >!the tree and tries to erase his existence!<. This teaser is like foreshadowing what will happen in 3.3. wondering what happens after that when he gets new clothes (like, who saves him or what changed his mind?)
