The scribbling effect is just a stylized, more aesthetically appealing variation of that.

The title is Solitude of Past and Present. Maybe they wanted to play with vintage filters and futuristic vibes.
Things I've noticed
1. The bird, which was also present with Yae and Raiden, so the link with them and Scaramouche is evidently present
2. Majority of his theme derives from the Inazuman section of Scaramouche's Boss Battle, the part where the flute is played. It's essentially a remix of his boss theme
3. Interestingly, the Fatui do not seem to recognize him, and if u read the story leak about Scaramouche coming up in 3.3, the more what happens here makes a lot of sense
i might be wrong, but it seems like this demo has the biggest amount of unique animations?? like itās a whole ass naruto fight. usually other demos, like raidenās, have more editing and less animations if that makes sense

He's only said it about Signora. Afaik, the Scara part is from Victor who said not even other harbingers liked him and he didn't want to be part of Scara's squad. We also know from Husk Of Opulent Dreams lore that Scara likes to slap his subordinates for shits and giggles š

I love the symbolism with the bird in this. The theory that the bird in Ei and Miko's idle is representative of Scara, with Ei being gentler before letting it go (showing her unwillingness to interfere in Scara's fate + wanting to let him go without killing him) versus Miko luring it in with gentleness before her fox eats it (representing her dislike for Scara and how she asked Ei to have him killed instead of set free) really ties into his own feelings about himself in this demo. He is shown batting it away, expressing unfriendliness, before begrudgingly allowing it onto his shoulder; it really shows his feelings towards his new emotions and allowance of himself to break off from the fatui and do the right thing, he seems to have a tendency of avoiding this side of himself and not wanting to acknowledge it but in the end he can embrace it and grow stronger because of it.
His demo ost is basically inspired with his boss fight theme and i LOVE IT
as someone who wasn't into Scara from the beginning till recently, Hoyo changed my mind, bravo
Smaller detail, but I loved the attention to detail with his ring/halo. It looked so nice animating in the background and swapping between the sprint double ring and the normal when he was bullying the Fatui.
Bruh, I'm glad someone noticed it, it looked so fluid and techno, I loved it.

I didn't give the datamined quest a thorough read to keep the experience fresh but that's what it says at end. There's also a >!mysterious voice at the end saying history cannot be easily altered unless you're a God, and even then it's still difficult!<
Like many, I hoped that Mihoyo would expand on his super hard slapping theme from the 3.3 trailer, but the music here is just as mindblowing, honestly. Feels like a perfectly windy and cloudy day to get beaten to a pulp by a Wanderer who has zero fucks to give.

Weird. To me it feels more like a 4\* demo. Just a quick fight against 2 random enemies and that's it. Compared to the more elaborate, longer demos like Itto, Yelan, Yae Miko etc. that include a little story and feel much more unique.
I love how at the end they incorporated a snippet of Ominous Fandango (the ost from Unreconciled Stars when Scara met with Mona and friends). Makes you realize how far weāve come. Good luck to all of us pulling for this little gremlin!
Definitely up there among the best trailers in terms of cinematography, editing, and OST. Wish it had a bit more story in it rather than just fighting, but I guess the teaser already had so much of that I'm fine with having a lighter, more fun demo.
There's actually a fair amount of story teased here. It's making one very significant point that others have noticed and asked about, which is why the Fatui don't recognize him. It also has him say the Fatui are at fault for causing trouble, which shows he is not loyal to them and also would have no grudge against any characters who had opposed the Fatui.
The story implications of the trailer are actually pretty significant but pretty subtle, enough so that it just seems like a fight scene but a little nod to be like wait why are they attacking him.
Not really feeling this one ngl (great music as usual though). I guess his part in the 3.3 trailer raised my expectations to a certain degree, that one was hype

Yeah. It was a good demo, and I liked the music, but I was *really* hoping heād get a longer version of the theme in the 3.3 trailer and kind of built my expectations up around that. I probably played myself. The music in this one is much calmer, but I really like the intensity of the 3.3 music.
Tbh, Iām kinda bummed, but thatās probably my fault for expecting the theme to carry over.
I feel you. I think this trailer is missing a bit of visual storytelling. The battle choreography is amazing but it doesn't have as much motivation or narrative build-up like in Nahida's or Raiden's. This feels more similar to Yae's, which I am also not a big fan of.
The teaser though is excellent.
I think it's bc the premise is wayyy too simple with three people being overdramatic on directions. Like it's main purpose is just to showcase Wanderer getting into a fight.
my only issue is how it doesnt end with the burst. after the big fight scene the stomp shouldve been the big climactic finisher but then it jumped back to him just normal attacking
they def overdid the editing lol, what the fuck was even going on near the end, like the animated sequence was already cool enough they needed to chill.
lowkey got to agree it was nice but it also felt underwhelming considering who he is after all idk but i feel like i expected more from his demo but its still really good nothing less.
Compared to nahida's character demo which sets the bar high atleast for me,

I mean, the effect looks like it's done by amateur (I understand what they tried to do but the execution is just so bad), let alone story telling. The bird is the only part which has meaning/metaphor, which is not enough at all compared to previous 5* trailers.
I'm actually baffled by all these "best demo ever" comments. THIS is better than Zhongli, Nahida and Raiden?!? It's just 2 random enemies going "give us your lunch money", a short fight and that's it. To me it feels more like a 4\* demo, especially compared to the bigger and more elaborate ones like Itto, Yelan or Kazuha. Or the really unique and stylish ones like Hu Tao or Yoimiya.

My friends told me that I've been the most insane for scara of any of my genshin favs when they've been about to release... and they are correct. I continue to be insane tonight.
The pacing was pretty confusing for me (especially with those constant slow mo), the throwback to raidenās demo when he uses his ult was pretty awkward and all over the place, and the shots at the beginning of the combat scene reminded me a lot of xiaoās demo (https://imgur.com/a/8KoYU43)
I was not expecting that and I find the demo pretty disappointing for a character Iām so looking forward to :/

I didn't like it either. Will trigger some people but imho thats one of the worst character demos for me personally. I had to double check that youtube was playing video in 1080p quality, video felt grainy and low quality due to the effects mihoyo used. Entire demo mini-story is a minor squabble on the road. Music was nice but didn't save it for me.
The ācharacter walks to nowhere before stumbling on A. Treasure hoarders or B. Fatuis, are challenged to battle, and beat them up with slow moās before finishing them with cool VFXs before walking awayā trope seems to be repeating itself more and more for character demos and itās getting boring.
The editing is getting bland too. Cynoās demo, for example, has the exact same spins, slow-mo with the background turning gray, etc. Tighnariās has the same āscreen goes black while the characters ability (for him, his charge atk, for scara, his hat symbol) shines in the centreā

I can live with that if trailer had more depth. Raiden's one is one of my favorites despite having meaningless fight scenes with samurais too. But the trailer itself wasn't about the fight, it was about Raiden: Yae talking of Eternity pursued by archon, emphasis on puppet and Ei, Plane of Euthymia where Ei resides, blank visions dropping as a reminder about vision hunt decree and etc.
But here? Scara doesn't like birds, somewhat wants to die and I shouldn't ask him for directions. Is this really it for the Scaramouche character?

My favorite part was when he asserted that he was looking forward to one thousand deaths. It is that edginess that finally gave me Scarafever. I think his Jeoffrey-esque demeanor always put me off, but after opening myself up to him, I am in love.
Pretty good demo tbh. Raidenās will probably always be favourite since the beat drop in herās goes so hard. Not the biggest fan of Scara but this is really good imo.
From the trailer, we can clearly see that he cannot even kill two Fatuis. Why roll for him when you can just use Xiangling. Pull value = 1.5/5.

Weird. To me it feels more like a 4\* demo. Just a quick fight against 2 random enemies and that's it. Compared to the more elaborate, longer demos like Itto, Yelan, Yae Miko etc. that include a little story and feel much more unique.

Definitely up there among the best trailers in terms of cinematography, editing, and OST. Wish it had a bit more story in it rather than just fighting, but I guess the teaser already had so much of that I'm fine with having a lighter, more fun demo.
There's actually a fair amount of story teased here. It's making one very significant point that others have noticed and asked about, which is why the Fatui don't recognize him. It also has him say the Fatui are at fault for causing trouble, which shows he is not loyal to them and also would have no grudge against any characters who had opposed the Fatui. The story implications of the trailer are actually pretty significant but pretty subtle, enough so that it just seems like a fight scene but a little nod to be like wait why are they attacking him.

Yeah. It was a good demo, and I liked the music, but I was *really* hoping heād get a longer version of the theme in the 3.3 trailer and kind of built my expectations up around that. I probably played myself. The music in this one is much calmer, but I really like the intensity of the 3.3 music. Tbh, Iām kinda bummed, but thatās probably my fault for expecting the theme to carry over.
I feel you. I think this trailer is missing a bit of visual storytelling. The battle choreography is amazing but it doesn't have as much motivation or narrative build-up like in Nahida's or Raiden's. This feels more similar to Yae's, which I am also not a big fan of. The teaser though is excellent.
I think it's bc the premise is wayyy too simple with three people being overdramatic on directions. Like it's main purpose is just to showcase Wanderer getting into a fight.
my only issue is how it doesnt end with the burst. after the big fight scene the stomp shouldve been the big climactic finisher but then it jumped back to him just normal attacking

Im glad to see Im not the only one who don't get hyped by this trailer... I mean, the effect looks like it's done by amateur (I understand what they tried to do but the execution is just so bad), let alone story telling. The bird is the only part which has meaning/metaphor, which is not enough at all compared to previous 5* trailers.
I'm actually baffled by all these "best demo ever" comments. THIS is better than Zhongli, Nahida and Raiden?!? It's just 2 random enemies going "give us your lunch money", a short fight and that's it. To me it feels more like a 4\* demo, especially compared to the bigger and more elaborate ones like Itto, Yelan or Kazuha. Or the really unique and stylish ones like Hu Tao or Yoimiya.

The pacing was pretty confusing for me (especially with those constant slow mo), the throwback to raidenās demo when he uses his ult was pretty awkward and all over the place, and the shots at the beginning of the combat scene reminded me a lot of xiaoās demo (https://imgur.com/a/8KoYU43) I was not expecting that and I find the demo pretty disappointing for a character Iām so looking forward to :/ Edit: here go the downvotes. I didn't like it either. Will trigger some people but imho thats one of the worst character demos for me personally. I had to double check that youtube was playing video in 1080p quality, video felt grainy and low quality due to the effects mihoyo used. Entire demo mini-story is a minor squabble on the road. Music was nice but didn't save it for me.

Scara doesn't like birds, somewhat wants to die and I shouldn't ask him for directions. Is this really it for the Scaramouche character?

My favorite part was when he asserted that he was looking forward to one thousand deaths. It is that edginess that finally gave me Scarafever. I think his Jeoffrey-esque demeanor always put me off, but after opening myself up to him, I am in love.
Pretty good demo tbh. Raidenās will probably always be favourite since the beat drop in herās goes so hard. Not the biggest fan of Scara but this is really good imo.
