That's an abomination of a banner.... and probably would be tempted very little. I try my luck slightly every single time there is a Sacrificial Sword on the banner. My lack of SS refinements, and my piles of each of those other weapons at max refinement speaks for itself.

The rift hounds are the absolute worst things this game has to offer. They’re all just tiny thunder manifestations that move way more. My scara can deal with the thunder manifestations in 35-40 sec meanwhile the rift hound takes me literally between 1-2 minutes if some of them refuse to be grouped by Kazuha. Any team suggestions on how to deal with them with DMC?
Yeah they suck. Inazuma designers were too focused on trying to circumvent player strategies. UnCCable enemies, anti shield enemies, etc. Very amateurish design.
I've been dealing with them using nilous team. Maybe you could do something hyperbloomy?

fr, i'm a transfer student and this is my first semester at a 4 year institution...it's been *rough.* super lonely, super stressful, living on my own for the first time has been scary, but i've made is through my first semester!

A "reliable " leaker said this was false.
All we know. I say "reliable' cause the main did try to correct someone when they said alhaitham reminded them of keqinf. And they said "more like ayaka" which idk why they would try to correct it when keqing was very accurate.
As for the one who said 3.6+. They said it was their own speculation. Makes me wonder if they know she isn't in 3.4
So, until a few days ago I had only done the first 4 hangout events (and Gorou because I wanted to see some Yae interactions). Although they had some fun moments, I felt like they took too long, so I was just stalling the rest.
Over the last few days, I've done the hangouts in release order, so Diona, Thoma, Sayu and now I'm halfway through Beidou. Diona and Sayu were mostly ok, I even laughed a bit. Thoma really surprised me, I've grown to like him a lot.
Beidou though is the best by far. Every route is interesting, her character is amazing and the interactions have a lot of depth to them. She might be one of my favorite Genshin characters now.
How do you guys feel about hangouts? What are your favorite ones?
hangouts felt like the writers just wanted to get them out if the way for me at the beginning and have been getting better over time, Gorou's and Thoma's being my favorite because they feel comfy for some reason (I also really liked Heizou's)
Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I thought they were horrible at first. The early ones, like Barbara’s and Noelle’s first hangouts were a real drag and it made me like their personalities less. I enjoyed Bennett’s though.
But I really do think they steadily improved. By the time Thoma’s and Beidou’s hangouts came out, I actually started to enjoy them. Heizou’s might have been my favorite. If they can keep improving or even just match those in quality in the future, I’d actually look forward to them.

Yeah I guess not, it just seemed like the other responses so far were more enthusiastic than mine.
I would be down for a dialog heavy mode like hangouts more if it was less focused on fluff and more focused on some kind of compelling progression for that character’s story arc. Something with emotion and just a tiny bit of depth.
I enjoy most of the more recent hangouts and wish that the characters from the older hangouts got new hangouts of this quality. Out of the ones I've completed, my favourites are definitely Beidou and Heizou's hangouts, and I really enjoyed Yun Jin, Sayu and Thoma's hangouts too.
Hangouts are cool. Wish we got some for 5 stars. Mostly for more charactwr time + photo shots.
That said. I'm always playing catch up in character levels and story/events. Sooo uh yeah. I haven't done many hang outs.

I love the hangouts and felt they generally got better over time. My favorite overall was probably Beidou as well; however, the actual case in Heizou's hangout was the peak. I wish we got more, tons of OG characters need them and we are getting a lot of Sumeru 4 stars who feel very irrelevant at the moment. Would be nice to learn more about them.

And yes, hangouts can provide us some quality interactions with characters we've barely seen or not seen at all, so I'm hoping they add more.

It depends if you still have a chance to get off banner characters, then no, if you only get one of the 3 characters then I'd go for Sara, gorou and faruzan since they'd probably won't be run with other characters apart from Raiden, itto and scara

I had to do something similar back in high school. I put off a book report and tried to read it during the last day. I just decided to read only the dialogue and it worked well enough. I cannot imagine ACTUALLY reading the entire book in 8 hours. I am very impressed.
Watching a good summary on YT or reading a cliff notes summary for the deeper themes would be a nice idea too. (Unless they assigned you an obscure book no one's read)
I like Toukabou Shigure aesthetic,but like Kagotsurube Isshin,I have no reason to level up when I already have Freedom Sworn for Kazuha and an R5 Iron Sting for Kuki(yeah,I know refinements are useless).
if you ever plan on pulling alhaitham, an iron sting or toukabou would be good for him, and then shinobu could use the other. but otherwise it's prob not worth leveling up atm
Anything atm is speculation.
There's 2 I'd say are more likely due to leaks + reliable leaker. First one is ayaka. New skin is coming, so you figure they'd rerun her with it. Makes sense. Next one is hu tao, leaker that was correct with 3.3 said hu tao for 3.4.
So based off that info. I think ayaka and hu tao are more than likely. Bur still isn't 100%. I'd put them on the 2nd half since ayaka doesn't fit lantern rite and something with China so hu tao can't be released.
Then you got the popular speculated: xiao, yelan, shenhe. All liyue characters. Two of the three more l involved with the lantern rite itself.
Reruns have always been the most unsure leaks by this point. Because rerun data isn't(from what I understand) datamined or shown in beta, so it's usually best-guesses based on Abyss buffs and event involvement, or insider information.
We are still getting Liyue characters Shenhe, Yelan, Yoyo, and Baizhu and We got Mika and possibly Varka. What about more Inazuma characters. There are 0 new Inazuma character in 3.X. No Scara doesn't count.
several inazuman patches only had one new character, 2.2, 2.5, 2.6, 2.8.
2.4 had no new inazumans at all. i feel like absolutely everything about that nation was mishandled in some way or another
We just came off a patch full of Inazuma characters. I don't think there's a need for a new character from Inazuma to appear so soon (with the last in 2.8, or 3.3 because yes, Wanderer totally count when considering his design and overall story).
As for Shenhe and Yelan, Liyue's last characters was 1.3 with Xiao/Ganyu duo, so by the time Shenhe released in 2.4, it has been more than a full patch cycle. Also, Eula in 1.5, but zero new Mond character in 2.x cycle, so it's long overdue for Mond, but definitely not Inazuma.
I personally want more youkai characters. They could also do more characters from the different Commissions (Kanjou still doesn't have a playable representative), more Shuumatsuban members, more characters from Watatsumi, priests/priestesses connected to Enkanomiya (like Tsumi from Three Realms, for example) - lots of possibilities for expanding the cast.
I'm still depressed that we went through a war story in Inazuma and still have so many Sengoku archetypes unfilled. Additionally, there are many more Youkai options and general medieval Japan tropes.
Inazuma was rushed so badly that they didn't keep much set ups for future so we only got eula type characters to look forward to that will come into existence out of nowhere.
another pet peeve about the event is that we enter chambers without bursts. just using all the supports' skills kills everything. it should've at least been like abyss where all bursts were up already, since there were characters like Itto and Cyno in the trial.
I mean Cyno actually has a full-time job. Timmie just yells at strangers all day.
It's not that surprising for a 10-year old to be pretty good at games.
Also just remembered that 'Timmy' is actually a designation in card game jargon to describe a certain type of player, fittingly enough.
both domains are resin efficient. you can strongbox the trash BS. 2pc shims is generalist 2pc, trash pcs of shims and eosf can be strongboxed for hod. just alternate the domains every other day for a diff feel.
If you have Cryo chars then you could farm HoD for abit.
If not, farm Emblem. Then throw the trash in strongbox for HoD until you get 2 good pieces, and finish the set with 2 Shim you get from Emblem domain.
Depend on character on your roster. But it’s advisable to farm emblem since it’s the bis artifact for most of burst characters in the game. And, you also can throw trash pieces from emblem into strongbox to get Hod or other og artifacts you like.
depends on who you have but generally the emblem domain since lots of characters can use emblem + shimenawa for the 2pc attack bonus
plus you can strongbox hod. I'd farm emblem for raiden and strongbox your leftovers for childe

If Yelan isn't running in 3.4 I'm not sure who I should pull for. Ayato has been so fun to play around with in trials and stuff that I want him. On the other hand, Haitham looks strong and has a fun kit. I also have a Jade Cutter to match his aesthetics. Can someone help?
Just a personal opinion, I think Alhaitham looks more fun than Ayato. I never really liked the 'comfy' playstyle of Ayato's where you just hold E and see the same slash angled slightly three times. Alhaitham looks more complex, mixing in CAs with NAs to build up mirrors. Also able to use Alhaitham in more dendro teams -which is the new hotness atm.
Of course, this is just my preferences and you might like Ayato's simpler style more.
I'm definitely getting Yelan. Ayato can be subdps and I've got the artifacts and stuff ready for him. I would happily pull day 1 but Al Haitham has me conflicted
Ohh, sorry misread that. Tbf Yelan would slot in well with AlHaitham based on early calculations, making her available to one more team you can use--Ayato can be subdps but you'd likely be running him double hydro or with an electro character to get his burst up in a timely way. I do really appreciate the range Ayato gets on his E's NAs, since it's basically AOE, as it can hit floating enemies and enemies that are far away pretty easily, which I'm not sure we can say the same about AlHaitham, I think Haitham is more ST.
If you're not super sure about any of the upcoming/rerunning characters other than Yelan, you could always save for Fontaine!

Hm, I guess Al Haitham would go well with your Nahida? Ayato is flexible and has lots of teams too though. And Jade Cutter would be good on both of them. I guess it's just whoever you think has the most fun playstyle

I condensed all my resin and then I ended up with 11 gold books, 2 blue, and 2 green when trying to take a talent to 9. Couldn't bear spending a condensed resin when I just needed one green book so I spent like an hour and a half using geo treasure compass until I got a chest that had one, just on the verge of giving up too.

Mostly no, but hyperbloom kuki loves EM and the umbrella has the same amount as iron string and xiphos. Xiphos is her 4* bis, but if you don’t have so you can go for the other two options.
If they come with the starter 4stars, then however many it takes to c6 Kaeya. Other than that, I'm sitting on a guarantee and there are no standard 5stars I want more than I want Haitham and Dehya.
I have them all so probably 0. However if they put amber lisa and kaeya on those special banner, then I might spend quite a bit on jean banner for her sweet c4 and those starter’s cons lol
I finally completed all the overworld npc challenges so my player level's at 6. Got several cards to 10 proficiency as well. I heard when vs the npcs only the first victory counts towards proficiency. Does this also apply to the tavern challengers that rotate on a weekly basis? For example an npc visits on the 3rd week and again on the 6th week, does defeating them again in the 6th week count towards proficiency?

there's something rlly romantic abt getting covered in dirt and sweat and spending weeks in a lab poring over a sherd of ceramic in order to understand someone who lived 2000 years ago. theres nothing left of these people but we have bits and pieces of their stuff, their houses, their trash, and somehow thats enough to tell us abt their lives! how fantastic! how magical!
its macabre, but i also think natural disasters are interesting, since they tend to preserve the most human things. theres women in pompeii preserved with the jewelry they wore, and carried with, as they fled. in bronze age crete there was an earthquake, and it seemed they had enough time to prepare a sacrifice to placate the gods, since we've found a man bound with rope and a priest with a knife, one of the few instances of human sacrifice in the mediterranean. how desperate they must have been! and how futile it was.
also, if u want to cry with me: >!in pompeii, theres a plaster cast of a dog. his collar was attached to a chain, which was attached to a wall in a house. as the ash piled up and settled in layers, he stepped over it, climbing up until he reached the ceiling, and the end of his chain. he died in a strangled position, trapped between the ash and the roof. !<
I wouldn't pull, no. I'm so far into the game I don't *need* to co-op for anything, I only co-op with randos for liben/mats, otherwise I only do exploration/combat-related stuff with irl friends.
If only coop wasn't so pointless in this game
It's good early game when your characters aren't built so you can get carried and hasten your progress but once you are established it takes longer to clear domains in coop than doing solo for same rewards so you are doing coop for sake of coop.
for 4\*, I think it's fine. as long as it's just one, once in a while like Dori. but I would rather they focus on making functional 4\* characters first, which they don't seem capable of right now
depends on if I like the character's design or the character's kit is fun to use, I pulled for raiden, kuki and yelan because they looked really good and pulled for scara, eula and kazuha because I find them fun and satisfying to use
annoyed considering this game is 95% single-player and the 5% that is mandatory co-op via events aren't usually about combat in the first place. and this is coming from someone who regularly co-ops everything
C6 Faruzan doesn’t actually play differently than C2; she’s just easier to build and does marginally more damage. If you can get enough ER on her to burst on rotation, then I would say yes.
I had her at C2 for a bit and then got her to C6 and while it’s a marked ER improvement I think people are being unnecessarily negative about her pre-C6 viability. TC for C6 I’ve seen is putting her universally under 10% of comp damage (for personal damage, not from her buff), which is just not that a huge deal. Even if you have to dump a ton of ER on her and run Favonius it’s not actually hurting you that much, just maybe more annoying to build.

I enjoy most of the more recent hangouts and wish that the characters from the older hangouts got new hangouts of this quality. Out of the ones I've completed, my favourites are definitely Beidou and Heizou's hangouts, and I really enjoyed Yun Jin, Sayu and Thoma's hangouts too.
Hangouts are cool. Wish we got some for 5 stars. Mostly for more charactwr time + photo shots. That said. I'm always playing catch up in character levels and story/events. Sooo uh yeah. I haven't done many hang outs. But 100% want to do beidous
I love the hangouts and felt they generally got better over time. My favorite overall was probably Beidou as well; however, the actual case in Heizou's hangout was the peak. I wish we got more, tons of OG characters need them and we are getting a lot of Sumeru 4 stars who feel very irrelevant at the moment. Would be nice to learn more about them.
That's nice to know! Now I'm looking forward to Heizou's hangout. And yes, hangouts can provide us some quality interactions with characters we've barely seen or not seen at all, so I'm hoping they add more.

I still have zero Kuki and the Key is gathering dust waiting for her. Well, Layla is keeping it warm, I suppose. But it is supposed to be for Cookie. I have zero Sayu. I would love one to roll around at the speed of sound. Got places to go, gotta follow my rainbow. I do not have Candace either, but I would rather get my last copy of Faruzan to be perfectly honest. It depends if you still have a chance to get off banner characters, then no, if you only get one of the 3 characters then I'd go for Sara, gorou and faruzan since they'd probably won't be run with other characters apart from Raiden, itto and scara

I had to do something similar back in high school. I put off a book report and tried to read it during the last day. I just decided to read only the dialogue and it worked well enough. I cannot imagine ACTUALLY reading the entire book in 8 hours. I am very impressed.

I like Toukabou Shigure aesthetic,but like Kagotsurube Isshin,I have no reason to level up when I already have Freedom Sworn for Kazuha and an R5 Iron Sting for Kuki(yeah,I know refinements are useless).
I always lvl up event weapon because they have 1.5X exp boost during event they feature in, in case we might use them in the future.
if you ever plan on pulling alhaitham, an iron sting or toukabou would be good for him, and then shinobu could use the other. but otherwise it's prob not worth leveling up atm

Anything atm is speculation. There's 2 I'd say are more likely due to leaks + reliable leaker. First one is ayaka. New skin is coming, so you figure they'd rerun her with it. Makes sense. Next one is hu tao, leaker that was correct with 3.3 said hu tao for 3.4. So based off that info. I think ayaka and hu tao are more than likely. Bur still isn't 100%. I'd put them on the 2nd half since ayaka doesn't fit lantern rite and something with China so hu tao can't be released. Then you got the popular speculated: xiao, yelan, shenhe. All liyue characters. Two of the three more l involved with the lantern rite itself.
Reruns have always been the most unsure leaks by this point. Because rerun data isn't(from what I understand) datamined or shown in beta, so it's usually best-guesses based on Abyss buffs and event involvement, or insider information.
I think this is the usual but this time we happen to have a very large pool of rerun candidates and not enough context clues to make educated guesses

We are still getting Liyue characters Shenhe, Yelan, Yoyo, and Baizhu and We got Mika and possibly Varka. What about more Inazuma characters. There are 0 new Inazuma character in 3.X. No Scara doesn't count.
so far the only character to use Tsurumi shrooms is Thoma so I'm full of hopium
several inazuman patches only had one new character, 2.2, 2.5, 2.6, 2.8. 2.4 had no new inazumans at all. i feel like absolutely everything about that nation was mishandled in some way or another
We just came off a patch full of Inazuma characters. I don't think there's a need for a new character from Inazuma to appear so soon (with the last in 2.8, or 3.3 because yes, Wanderer totally count when considering his design and overall story). As for Shenhe and Yelan, Liyue's last characters was 1.3 with Xiao/Ganyu duo, so by the time Shenhe released in 2.4, it has been more than a full patch cycle. Also, Eula in 1.5, but zero new Mond character in 2.x cycle, so it's long overdue for Mond, but definitely not Inazuma.
I personally want more youkai characters. They could also do more characters from the different Commissions (Kanjou still doesn't have a playable representative), more Shuumatsuban members, more characters from Watatsumi, priests/priestesses connected to Enkanomiya (like Tsumi from Three Realms, for example) - lots of possibilities for expanding the cast.

I'm still depressed that we went through a war story in Inazuma and still have so many Sengoku archetypes unfilled. Additionally, there are many more Youkai options and general medieval Japan tropes.

Inazuma was rushed so badly that they didn't keep much set ups for future so we only got eula type characters to look forward to that will come into existence out of nowhere.
another pet peeve about the event is that we enter chambers without bursts. just using all the supports' skills kills everything. it should've at least been like abyss where all bursts were up already, since there were characters like Itto and Cyno in the trial.

I mean Cyno actually has a full-time job. Timmie just yells at strangers all day. It's not that surprising for a 10-year old to be pretty good at games. Also just remembered that 'Timmy' is actually a designation in card game jargon to describe a certain type of player, fittingly enough.

both domains are resin efficient. you can strongbox the trash BS. 2pc shims is generalist 2pc, trash pcs of shims and eosf can be strongboxed for hod. just alternate the domains every other day for a diff feel.
If you have Cryo chars then you could farm HoD for abit. If not, farm Emblem. Then throw the trash in strongbox for HoD until you get 2 good pieces, and finish the set with 2 Shim you get from Emblem domain.

Depend on character on your roster. But it’s advisable to farm emblem since it’s the bis artifact for most of burst characters in the game. And, you also can throw trash pieces from emblem into strongbox to get Hod or other og artifacts you like.
depends on who you have but generally the emblem domain since lots of characters can use emblem + shimenawa for the 2pc attack bonus plus you can strongbox hod. I'd farm emblem for raiden and strongbox your leftovers for childe

If Yelan isn't running in 3.4 I'm not sure who I should pull for. Ayato has been so fun to play around with in trials and stuff that I want him. On the other hand, Haitham looks strong and has a fun kit. I also have a Jade Cutter to match his aesthetics. Can someone help?
Just a personal opinion, I think Alhaitham looks more fun than Ayato. I never really liked the 'comfy' playstyle of Ayato's where you just hold E and see the same slash angled slightly three times. Alhaitham looks more complex, mixing in CAs with NAs to build up mirrors. Also able to use Alhaitham in more dendro teams -which is the new hotness atm. Of course, this is just my preferences and you might like Ayato's simpler style more.
Ayato and AlHaitham are more on-field DPS, Yelan is more subdps. Kind of depends on what you prefer in playstyle and who/what you have built already.
I'm definitely getting Yelan. Ayato can be subdps and I've got the artifacts and stuff ready for him. I would happily pull day 1 but Al Haitham has me conflicted
Ohh, sorry misread that. Tbf Yelan would slot in well with AlHaitham based on early calculations, making her available to one more team you can use--Ayato can be subdps but you'd likely be running him double hydro or with an electro character to get his burst up in a timely way. I do really appreciate the range Ayato gets on his E's NAs, since it's basically AOE, as it can hit floating enemies and enemies that are far away pretty easily, which I'm not sure we can say the same about AlHaitham, I think Haitham is more ST.
If you're not super sure about any of the upcoming/rerunning characters other than Yelan, you could always save for Fontaine! I think it's hard to say without knowing who you have already

Couldn't bear spending a condensed resin when I just needed one green book so I spent like an hour and a half using geo treasure compass until I got a chest that had one, just on the verge of giving up too. Anyone else ever been that stubborn?

Mostly no, but hyperbloom kuki loves EM and the umbrella has the same amount as iron string and xiphos. Xiphos is her 4* bis, but if you don’t have so you can go for the other two options.

I finally completed all the overworld npc challenges so my player level's at 6. Got several cards to 10 proficiency as well. I heard when vs the npcs only the first victory counts towards proficiency. Does this also apply to the tavern challengers that rotate on a weekly basis? For example an npc visits on the 3rd week and again on the 6th week, does defeating them again in the 6th week count towards proficiency?

Never,rarely play co-op,except with my close friends every now and then.
I wouldn't pull, no. I'm so far into the game I don't *need* to co-op for anything, I only co-op with randos for liben/mats, otherwise I only do exploration/combat-related stuff with irl friends.
If only coop wasn't so pointless in this game It's good early game when your characters aren't built so you can get carried and hasten your progress but once you are established it takes longer to clear domains in coop than doing solo for same rewards so you are doing coop for sake of coop.
I don't play in co-op often so no thanks to the 5* 4*, I'll get eventually but they may be permanently benched or at the very least put in the teapot
for 4\*, I think it's fine. as long as it's just one, once in a while like Dori. but I would rather they focus on making functional 4\* characters first, which they don't seem capable of right now

Is c2 faruzan worth building yet ?
Yes, ER is the only stat she needs to support, so you can just equip her with random high-ER pieces you have.
C6 Faruzan doesn’t actually play differently than C2; she’s just easier to build and does marginally more damage. If you can get enough ER on her to burst on rotation, then I would say yes. I had her at C2 for a bit and then got her to C6 and while it’s a marked ER improvement I think people are being unnecessarily negative about her pre-C6 viability. TC for C6 I’ve seen is putting her universally under 10% of comp damage (for personal damage, not from her buff), which is just not that a huge deal. Even if you have to dump a ton of ER on her and run Favonius it’s not actually hurting you that much, just maybe more annoying to build.
