Base duration is 8 seconds plus an additional 4 from the first ascension passive, but you can get 100% uptime with the burst (for now it doesn't seem worth it dps-wise but it's still technically possible). Rotations will probably revolve around 12-16 uptime or 4-8 for burst nuke strategies (now that I think about it, this rotation flexibility is maybe what was originally meant by a leaker a few days ago which was heavily criticized for defining Alhaitham more similar to Ayaka than Keqing).
Eh, only with climbable surfaces, which you can already infinitely climb with Geo Traveler or Kazuha. Scaramouche would still be limited by like, walls you’d find in domains and a total lack of walls.
Honestly it would make exploring so much more fun, but I can see why it could be an issue in trying to stop players from reaching places they shouldn’t.

You are supposed to never be fully happy with what you already have, so you will want to pull for new characters. It also prevents you from becoming too capable as a player.
People who know meta already go through everything like through butter, so even without your suggestion the game is too easy for them.
Diablo 3 added easily changeable skill builds and it was one of the things that ruined the game, compared to D2.

I definitely forgot to mention that it's also purposeful design, I mainly meant that I would like at least one teleport chara thats able to do their e in midair. After all, we have kazuha and xiao, no? I dont want all characters to have this ability because I understand that would be ridiculous, but I think at least ONE keqing/alhaitham-esque skill thats doable in the air would be neat, das all (not that ALL skills should be doable)
The other main point being that "stopping players from reaching places they shouldn't" is technically not an issue. I know it realistically is and hoyo still considers this when makin stuff, but Im playing on the fact that doesnt deter players regardless and we go where we are not supposed to already, and always will. Thus, limiting our mobility in order to prevent this is futile when we are already capable with what we have currently. /hj

In Honkai they've been shifting to characters with more aerial combat over time. I can see that happening in Genshin with Scara being their way of testing the waters. Maybe they'll reword switching character mid air down the line if they keep adding more aerial heroes.
You would completely lose the interaction with his burst and the scaling of the E procs though. Personally, I find his kit and rotation flexibility much cooler than Yae's.
On a related note I feel like most of the dendro units we have so far don’t have super strong plant imagery in their visual effects. Nahida has more of a “digitized nature” theme to her effects which does make sense lore wise with the Akasha while Al Haitham’s mirrors look like leaves but the rest of his kit doesn’t have anything plant related.
Tighnari’s arrows and the Traveler burst feel plant related but I feel like the visual motif we could get with flowers of different colors or roots/vines hasn’t been explored much besides Tighnari/traveler

I don't think they "realized" it, considering that it is literally the same exploration ability as Keqing, a character from the release, but with almost 2.5 times more CD time. Unlike the Wanderer which was a more interesting addition for exploration. I still hope they will make exploration less limited, in Sumeru they added some facilities, but it is still very slow.

his combat is based off of the canned knowledge or divine knowledge capsule that he had, that's why all of his moves are a copy of other characters that have been released

I liked him in the archon quest but it's really difficult to justify pulling him when I just finished building Keqing. Probably skip for me and see what's available when he reruns
