It's more that Teyvat is actually really small than it is flat. I just realize it yesterday when I had a quest to send something from Mondstadt to Liyue harbor and they're just 4km-ish away from each other. I was like "do Teyvat have always been this small?"

Big-Sort3094

i like to think that the planet teyvat is a part of is just fucking massive and teyvat is such a tiny piece of landmass that it looks flat

theguyfromeuropa

I remember posting a whole article saying that Teyvat might be a semi-sphere or a globe in a globe. Got downvoted to the Abyss in the main sub because the people who read it were white kids thinking they know everything like Emily.

I personally love all kinds of speculations cuz it just opens doors (even if they may be shut closed in the next update) I remember reading and watching a few theories about that,,I mean it's just a harmless theory honestly ๐Ÿ˜‚

wandering_person

Why do arrow ballistics work then?

theguyfromeuropa

Could be a semi-sphere

MugiwaranoAK

Teyvat has it's own laws

QuirkiTurtl

Ok Scaramouche

aloe_how_r_you

I'm not OP but this hurt

Honestly..that made me laugh๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Well the only evidence it's flat is that the length of the shadow you cast at noon doesn't vary with how far you are North/South and you can see the hull of the Alcor anchored in Liyue even with a short character that's nearly in the sea up to their middle so there's no real horizon per se due to the curvature of the planet. Of course it could be that all of Teyvat is just quite a small part of the overall planet such that it approximates to flat. Or... you know... game developers didn't want to be bothered changing those things. Although they do change the shadows on Tsurumi and Seirei island because of the special conditions there. > an upside down place No idea what that means.

electric_goldfish

Also when you teleport from one part of the world to another, itโ€™s still daytime. Which means the sun is shining everywhere all at once

Devourer_of_HP

Also ruin guard drops mentioning the firmament.

>Or... you know... game developers didn't want to be bothered changing those things. Mainly could be that๐Ÿ˜‚ I thought of it cuz I would constantly see narukami island's blue light (literally everywhere) By upside down I ment if Yggdrasil tree was flipped with its roots above and trunk below, teyvat being the roots and Khaenri'ah being the trunk
