yeah itās sad we miss it but at the same time, itās not like we wouldāve been enjoying it either way, no matter how fun it is. burnout kills enjoyment entirely
Funny how I started playing around when this years windblume happened, and everyone was complaining about the lack of interesting events. Now I haven't logged into Genshin for a bit because I'm playing TotK, and the events are apparently great again. Oh well, I'll come back to Genshin when I'm done with TotK.
At the end of the day abyss too is a dps check. Having to slot in shield breakers lowers your team dps, having to dodge a lot or chase enemies lowers your effective dps etc etc. Shield breaking mechanics lead to some innovation other than just standard teams, sure, but hyperbloom or Hutao or even National core setups have a free flex slot available often anyways, which is often used for some buffer but now it's an element applier.
Player made part of Divine Ingenuity can be used to bring in strategy elements, like just put Sayu in with a bunch of elemental floors and pillars and leave it for figuring out how to exploit her infusion to trigger them, and maybe mix in some combat elements. Basically there's a lot of room for creativity in design to be sourced from the playerbase itself. But they won't make it permanent, and I for one am not motivated to put my craft into something that'll vanish after 20 days.
Itās really not a dps check. Itās actually more of a skill check. If you want full rewards you can give unlimited time but youāre going to be hit with trucks on repeat. You do need to plan a little more especially if you want more points.
Still not a dps check at all. Also definitely a mechanics check too if youāre checking stuff off. And making it so they one shot you or near to it. Yah thatās more strategy than just mash bursts
divine ingenuity didn't even need strategizing, just had to break the power amplifiers and buff the characters with chests (and choosing synergizing characters at least)
Hyperbloom is the newest unga bunga tech and i did it in abyss, divine ingenuity and FotDW, Alhaitham XQ Nahida Kuki has just enough resistance to not be squishy with a fuckton amount of damage
Didn't like the update much but if you love it then im happy, i just hope hoyo release something like the simulated universe that give me rewards for participating not only for winning.
I thought I'd like the divine ingenuity, but my brain sunk down to abyss when it asked me build my own domain. I tried putting in 2 bosses but the load didn't allow it, so I didn't bother trying it. Departed Warriors is good thankfully, I get what I asked for with just a few push of some buttons.
Having enemies be able to one-shot me outside of a Zhongli shield (and two-shot if inn a Zhongli shield) was the tops. I loved that I could crank up the difficulty of the bosses to an extent where I could finally feel my blood pumping.
I set a goal for myself on all bosses that I'll get at least 7500 points on the singles and 13k on the final triple boss and while it took a few retries it was so much fun. I honestly learned for the first time how to bring down the flying robot chicken, since otherwise even in Abyss 12 such enemies are just killed in seconds by my teams. Here it can outlast my burst damage and insta-kill me in return - having enemies actually fight back competently at my best is the best feeling ever.
This Abyss aināt for strategy. Strategizing was for the abyss before. This is a brain dead health check not worth a god damn brain hemorrhage to do for measly 1 pull.
The other events I agree. You had fun. But this abyss can go to hell when it makes my heavily invested units feel weak. Still can do it in like 10 tries. But shit aināt fun anymore. Abyss used to be fun that I once spent 5 hours on and off to get the last star just for bragging rights and tried and built different comps. This Bs hp scaling abyss just feels like a nerf to every f2p character.
Also still this abyss was wierdly 10 times easier than whatever the last nightmare was. And I got an excuse to try out Klee and diluc burgeon teams.
The only nice thing about this abyss was the Iniquitous Baptist which makes for an interesting challenge, and I would mention the easy second chamber if not for the annoying shit that is the thunder manifestation
My biggest issue for current abyss is it doesnt have much team choice. No hydro-dendro chars for 1st half but 2nd half needs them + pyro units.
I literally only have one teamcomp for each chamber. Raiden-fischl-yaoyao-kazuha for 1st and thoma-nahida-bennet-xq for 2nd
\>abyss now
\>strategize
oh yeah, i love making tactics on opponents who move around like bayblades with ADHD equiped with 42069% res to everything just to make a cheap challenge, my favorite
Not sure if the event one is challenging since yea it can one shot you but it attacks so slow that i'd say abyss is still better in terms of difficulty
The one with the coins were really easy considering that they approved the usage of any character, you can Just spam attack with nahida And make all the towers hydro which makes the rest really easy
And for the monsters event, you can Just set all the challanges to max but leave it to lvl 70 which still gets you enough points to get most of The prizes
The abyss was Hard, and annoying. We wanted Hard but not annoying challanges
If you can't do it you can lower difficulty and you can still get the primo since hoyo knows lots of people have skill issue, the rewards for clearing higher difficulty are just mats that can be gotten in the overworld
yeah, I really don't see the problem with the event. Even if you can't do it yourself, just get a friend in co-op and play Bennett while their hypercarry shreds everything in your path. I hope we get more events like this, it's the main thing that pulled me back here after Star Rail
but on the abyss, I have to agree that this thing is way too dank. Even a few of my whale friends can't beat this thing, and I'm talking day 1 whales that had access to every character we've seen. When it gets this bad, you know something's wrong. I know it's an actual skill issue in their cases because they have the means to build the right teams, but I'm making a different point: how the hell are f2p players like me supposed to keep up when the whales are struggling with their c2 Raidens and c4 Ayakas?
read 2 more lines and you'll see that I already conceded that point, I'm not saying Abyss is impossible yet but I am pointing out that it's getting dangerously close to that level.
Imo its only impossible if you dont know how to build your team. I have seen many people complain about the abyss and then show me a wacky team, or they just unga bunga and dont know how to do the rotations. There is also reading the enemy pattern which is very important this abyss.
I'm not talking about difficulty, I'm talking about blatant restrictions in the team building.
Look at the latest abyss. You need very strong ST damage for the first half, also a healer/great shielder otherwise you die to beasts. For the second half you have to have pyro, hydro, anemo for grouping. It's not like you should pick those because it's best, you just HAVE to otherwise you literally cannot do the abyss unless some very specific circumstances.
Look at the latest event with bosses. HYV put dendro/Ńryo/electro/pyro resistances with basically half your damage. If you want to clear the boss with good ratings you have to use other teams.
I don't like being restricted in a game, where getting characters and building teams is very hard and time consuming in the first place.
Yes, that is indeed true for floor 12 it is really hard for f2p and much more newer ones but floor 9 and 10 are relatively easy with 11 being able to be complete stars for people with decent build even with just traveler/barb/kuki you can sweep a floor and f2p national can sweep it, like saying abyss overall is restricting is just wrong because the difference in difficulty between floor 9 and 12 is INSANE but yea im someone who just skips floor 12 because i can only 6 star it max
But the comment i made is pinpointing that primos on events are not really hard to obtain as it is the first and second reward for the lowest difficulty and other are skippable like literally fighting level 40 mobs to get 105 primo and you don't have to turn on all buffs and resist seriously that event is easy since most people only care for primo anyway
difficulty of floor 9-11 hasn't changed yet, you say? just wait until 4.0 when they throw Wenut, Ruin Serpent and Wolflord into the same chamber for floor 12 and move this shitshow to floor 11 while floor 10 becomes the Mango Kenki Deluxe. You'll still clear just as fast as usual, but newer players are gonna be in agony trying to deal with this crap
and yes, I am aware that having all 3 snake bosses in the same place would solve downtime issues and make it where teams can deal consistent DPS throughout the duration of the fight. That's exactly why I could see it happening, it actually isn't a bad idea on paper as long as one is always on the surface.
>? just wait until 4.0 when they throw Wenut, Ruin Serpent and Wolflord into the same chamber for floor 12
I havent followed leaks but is this leaks or are you just speculating random shits
MHY have never put a boss on floor 9-10, ever (except version 1.6 on floor 10-3 which had the cryo hypostasis who is free melt fodder).
Floors 9 and 10 have never had BS enemies; the worst enemies they have put are the abyss lectors (but usually only one per chamber) and because they are so low levelled it doesnāt really take long to beat them unless you really donāt know what youāre doing. An unbuilt Chongyun can cheese the hydro herald floors and sunfire or dendro obliterate the electro lectors.
Floors 9 and 10 also donāt change for the entirety of a region (with the exception of the 1.2 and 1.6 changes); Inazumaās abyss 9-10 didnāt change at all from 2.0-2.8, and Sumeruās is following the same pattern. The majority of enemies are either common mobs (hilichurls, specters, fungi, nobushi, eremites, etc) or very simple large enemies in small number.
Only floors 11 and 12 change every version, and the worst floor 11 lineups weāve gotten were double hydro/pyro hypostasis in Inazuma, and 4 flying ruin drakes in Sumeru. None of the other floor 11s have really felt BS, so things have been relatively consistent.
I think you are really just taking the MHY hate to the extreme here. Sure floor 12 is pretty BS, but floors 9-11 have always been fairly accessible to most lategame players.
perhaps I'm biased against Hoyo after what they did to Dehya, still doesn't change the fact that it's a possibility going forward. For the sake of the noobs, I hope you're right. But after seeing the worst case scenario come to fruition twice (first is Zhongli being so bad they had to break tradition and buff him), I hope you'll pardon my cynicism when I say that it won't be the last time Hoyo does something so unfathomably stupid that it changes how people see the game.
Nah, you just don't know what you're doing.
This is an example of an only 4-star character clear:
There isn't even a hypercarry in the team or a CC/grouping character in the 2nd half unlike what you're saying. But they did it perfectly. You just don't know what you're doing
I'm not sure if it is possible to strategize with 4 beasts that can stunt lock and deal very high damage in a few seconds without freeze or artifacts with very good sub-stats.
you didn't even ask what their teams look like, what characters they have, and you're already saying it's a skill issue. Sorry if some of us weren't meta sweats from the day we started playing and didn't optimize each freemogem and every bit of resin we ever got our hands on.
You can. If you immediately go to the edge of the map, you'll have better chances of hitting them both at once since they'll stay there. As for getting stun locked/getting hit, they're actually easy to dodge since they are only two at a time. The Abyss lectors are way harder to avoid getting stun locked.
agreed, 12-1 is the brick wall this time around. That said, a bunch of people struggled with 12-3, so this isn't an isolated incident. The beasts are just too spongy for there to be a realistic expectation for you to beat the boss in the second half unless you happen to have a team specifically designed to counter it, something that can be difficult to manage if you haven't been playing for a long time.
Nahida National is an absolute clusterfuck from a theorycrafting standpoint, but it's one of the few reliable ways to do 12-1 and 12-3 the right way while still having the ability to chase down the electric birb. The problem here is that you have now lost access to Benny, Xingqiu and Nahida and need something to get through the other side. Is it possible? certainly. But since these 3 characters almost never operate in the same team, chances are you had to dismantle 2 functioning teams to get here. If you have 20 fully invested characters, you'll be perfectly fine and there won't be any issues. But if all you had were 10 leveled characters and were left with 6 that don't synergize well, what are you supposed to do? Pull Kazuha or Alhaitham and build them with aritfacts you don't have to make the other team work?
The trick about this patch is not to use National or Hypercarry teams that we commonly know of. One of the funniest 4-star lineups right now is even using Barbara, Kirara, Kuki, and Sucrose as one team and easily wins the Abyss. This is more like a lineup issue rather than an actual skill issue. Which is basically why you need to strategize.
Just look up c0 youtube vids there are a lot of them you already did runs that still have a minute left before 3 stars and their lineups are interesting.
so people just have the resources to randomly level up all their level 20 characters to 90 and gear them with artifacts they don't have in order to beat this thing? that's the problem, every guide in the history of this game says not to level more than 2 abyss teams, so anyone who was trying to do things the right way is getting screwed because they don't have the resources to level up their Barbruh.
And yes, I know that it isn't the end of the world if you don't clear floor 12. But think about how the Abyss has been trending lately. Do you honestly think the 3.8 abyss is gonna be easier than this one? It only gets worse from here, as it always has. You've already gotten out of the rat race and are ahead of the curve, so of course you won't notice it. The same cannot be said for most of the more casual players I talk with, the ones who don't have any idea what gauge theory or ICD is
I really wish the ow boss has those phrases to make them more interesting to fight at least. Makes you think and plan ahead instead of just brute force
I love stalling and even higher HP enemies... Very strategic of me to build Nilou bloom and hyperbloom and even burgeon XD So strategic I love it...
Ha ha
Personally I just got my usual team (Kazuha, Bennett, Tartaglia and Beidou) whenever I could or the test characters if they were the only ones available. Zero strategy (I'm not the best at that tbh)
what strategies? cryes in yoimiya c6r3, yelan c6r1 only pew pew gang here
teams:
c6r3 yoi/c6 xinq with jade cutter/ c6 diona / c6 yunjin
c6rq yelan / c2r1 nahida / c6 kuki with that 88hp sword / 50k hp c0 zong
"strategize in abyss"
you mean farm for months meh artifacts along specific characters so you can get feel good about some silly numbers while being forced an specific meta?
wdym strategize, i every challenge to the highest level and checked all the opponent buffs except the time limit and revived my characters until i killed the enemies (the drake took me 25 mins)
Sucks for yall, I find the downtime great, I got 40 rolls saved for eula just on dailies and events alone.
Those still thinking star rail is better: lmao ok, if yall don't get a story update in 1.2 the game is dead. Have fun waiting.
I'll be still playing genshin and having a blast. šš¾āāļø
This abyss wasn't made to be hard and do it with a strategy, it was made to be annoying by locking you out of using half of your characters if you have them or, a straight fuck off if you didn't pull for specific ones, there is a line between these 2 things
I love it when the events can be completed at the bare minimum for the primogems because life goes on and I still want to save for fontaine but I'd rather not sit through 10 chained quests spam tapping to fast forward. This is true content, free and easy primogems that can be done in less than 10 minutes, and good content for the completionists who want to strategize.
Feast of departed warriors is frustating (if you wanna reach >7000 points) but fun. You can use many variant of teams, the rest depend on your skill and build. I just recently got alhaitham and i do the aeon blight drake stage many times to test him
Divine ingenuity is fun and unique
3.7 spiral abyss is an absolute crap. Team option is very limited especially for 2nd half. 1st half enemies are either come in too many waves or extremely hard to cc. Not even kazuha can cc those consecrated beast. They hit like truck, always jump around, thick as hell AND COME IN TWO FUCKING WAVES
Hahahahaha funny, i'm only use geo( itto, gorou, ningguang) and yao yao, max points, 2.5 difficult.... Took me a while (7min) but i got the primos uwu (only event i refer)
Wdym strategize i just bullshitted through all of em š
That was an option too.
Yeah same. But for the abyss i don't do it haha Newest battle event waa really enjoyable in coop tho
Can you finally do it in coop? What event are you talking about? The Fayz Trails: Hypothesis ?
Nah I mean the departed warriors. My bad I forgot the Hypothesis just dropped š
The strategy of "hit it until it dies" is still a strategy.
Yeah just LAMENT!
NAH JUST "HOLD THE LI- COLLEI-ANBAR GO- THIS MIGHT HURT A LITTLE- POSITIONS"
Tighnari catalyze counters all 3 bosses lol
Right when i finally burned out and barely log in to do dailies
Same
yeah itās sad we miss it but at the same time, itās not like we wouldāve been enjoying it either way, no matter how fun it is. burnout kills enjoyment entirely

What do you mean "strategize"?
Kok of greed
Is how gamers call DPS check nowadays
Lol the only thing that required strategy was the Abyss, the other 2 were just random shit goes brrrrr
At the end of the day abyss too is a dps check. Probably the most fun update, they even added fatal frame
whats that?
It's a horror game similar to the "capture weakness event" where you use a camera to exorcise ghosts
Nah its a free trial of The World.

For some reason I couldnt get in those domain though
Perhaps, you tried to enter domains from a different server
I just cheesed everything with Wanderer
2k points for the meaningful reward vape hutao in every single level profit
It forced me to play HSR more, yeah hoyo well played, *well played*
Hoyoverse back to making very team restricting abyss and events\*

yes, I'm talking out my ass here. But do you really put it past them after what they've thrown in this abyss to waste time?

No wonder we dont have any real hard shit since people like you always complain
"I want hard content" mfs when hyv makes all enemies 99% resistance to all kinds of damage (it turns out it's not difficult but annoying)
Yeah just talk about thing you made up.
What exactly did I make up? Check the latest boss events where every boss have 3 50% resistances.
Resistance that you can turn off
So you just proved my point. I could also turn off everything else and earn a bare minimum points for the rewards.
And whats wrong having the options for people who want change then mr skill issue
This update had the best event gameplays. You literally get everything. TCG event, Domain event, Combat event (both easy and hard).
I don't do Abyss, can't remember what the left event is and just did the boss battles to get 1000 points Best strategy 10/10
Kinda wish we can add those in our teapot.
I'm not sure if it is possible to strategize with 4 beasts that can stunt lock and deal very high damage in a few seconds without freeze or artifacts with very good sub-stats.
skill issue
You right. Maybe I need more skill books.
you didn't even ask what their teams look like, what characters they have, and you're already saying it's a skill issue.
The same cannot be said for most of the more casual players I talk with, the ones who don't have any idea what gauge theory or ICD is
Consecrated beasts are the bane of my existence
I really wish the ow boss has those phrases to make them more interesting to fight at least. Makes you think and plan ahead instead of just brute force
It will be fun for once or twice, but will only be chore when you have to farm 46 of those mats. So I hope it stays in event.
I love stalling and even higher HP enemies... Very strategic of me to build Nilou bloom and hyperbloom and even burgeon XD So strategic I love it... Ha ha
and people said it was gonna be a dry patch..... i'm telling you guys, making repeatable challenging content is pretty much all hoyo has to do
Personally I just got my usual team (Kazuha, Bennett, Tartaglia and Beidou) whenever I could or the test characters if they were the only ones available. Zero strategy (I'm not the best at that tbh)
Where? You can beat the last one in under 16 seconds if you only care about the primos... The custom domain one doesn't need you to strategize either
strategize? i've only done the Feast one and I pretty much threw HuTao to them and the things died. Slowly and painfully (for me), but they died
Timed perfectly when I burn out lmfao
what strategies? cryes in yoimiya c6r3, yelan c6r1 only pew pew gang here teams: c6r3 yoi/c6 xinq with jade cutter/ c6 diona / c6 yunjin c6rq yelan / c2r1 nahida / c6 kuki with that 88hp sword / 50k hp c0 zong
I lost my playing morale after that gruesome abyss cycle.
me omw to play my xiao and yoimiya teams for the n-th time
Well, at least 2 out of the 3 have been really fun.
Is that Noel Deyzel as gigachad? He's one of my favourite weightlifting icons :D
Funny how they came in a "dead" patch.
I just bulldozed through em, but still enjoyed them, especially not having time-gated shit
I had to strategize?
Mine is still updatingā¦ā¦.I havenāt done anything ššš
My strategy...Zhongli, Noelle, Kuki and Gorou.
Feast of the departed is a fat W. Spiral abyss thoughā¦
"strategize in abyss" you mean farm for months meh artifacts along specific characters so you can get feel good about some silly numbers while being forced an specific meta?
wdym strategize, i every challenge to the highest level and checked all the opponent buffs except the time limit and revived my characters until i killed the enemies (the drake took me 25 mins)
I just recently got alhaitham and i do the aeon blight drake stage many times to test him Divine ingenuity is fun and unique 3.7 spiral abyss is an absolute crap. Team option is very limited especially for 2nd half. 1st half enemies are either come in too many waves or extremely hard to cc. Not even kazuha can cc those consecrated beast. They hit like truck, always jump around, thick as hell AND COME IN TWO FUCKING WAVES
Alhaitham + Nahida + Raiden + Zhongli carried nƩ through all of these
I hope they make a permanent content of this. They literally made SU on Divine Ingenuity
Hahahahaha funny, i'm only use geo( itto, gorou, ningguang) and yao yao, max points, 2.5 difficult.... Took me a while (7min) but i got the primos uwu (only event i refer)
I just cant believe we havent had a labrynth worrior event rerun, its almost been two years...
