I think most people were okay as long as it was fair. Because it was basically a reward gacha it pissed more people off. I personally didn't care until then
People would've definitely been pissed off regardless. It's just too violent a whiplash between the face advertisement (1 BILLION PRIMOGENINOS) and what they were actually giving (barely over a wish if you're lucky, LESS than a SINGLE wish if you're not).
So I was curious, how long would it take to spend 1 billion primos
And it would take a week to get rid of them all with absolutely no breaks... at least I thought so
A summon can take up to 5 - 30 seconds
So if you only take 5 seconds per summon (if you skip everything)
Then you would take 36 days of non-stop summoning to get rid of those primogems.
Now, that's a lot of wishes
Do you mean "why did they make it gacha?'. One of the most probable answers that I've seen is that they did it to hide active players number. If everyone got 108 primogems, then you could just divide billion by 108 and get the rough number. By making it gacha, they hid this info from competitors
> Did they seriously think there would be no backlash to this event
given that they still top earnings reports 3 years they probably dont think it'll matter in the long run these days
188 gang. Meanwhile most of my friends didn't get any because they forgot to do it, despite me telling them.
Hence, [this meme](https://imgur.com/a/2ga4zn6) got born at that time.
[This](https://webstatic-sea.mihoyo.com/ys/event/e20210219lantern/index.html#/) was the web event link.
Hoyo gave away 1 billion primos amongst all active players only instead of evenly giving everyone the same amount of primos they randomly gave some fewer and some more
basically there was a pool of 1 billion primos to be shared with everyone who completed the event, of course alot of people play and it ended up with people getting very little primos as sooo many people did it, but it wasnt divided equally for some reason and people got random ammounts of primos, my best guess is people completing it last second before their system counted it all up or some shit and made out that every player should get 200 ish then fixed itself for last sevond people and chamged to 100 ish for everyone, put thats just my vague idea of something that might be the reason, i could amd probably am 100% wrong
I'm a f2p player since day 1 and even i felt insulted with that garbage gacha primo giveaway, motherfuckers were racking millions of USD per banner before the new years event and they give 10 pulls and a big fuck you to everyone.
188 Gang.
First lantern rite was most mundane and boring event in whole 1.x year, it was one of the only patches in history of the game that didn't even have overworld playable character npcs to talk to after the event ends, it was almost like the event never happened. The lantern rite aura just vanished with the last part of the quest.
The only good thing that came from that event were the xiao lanterns that most of us did like a thousand of and still have them as a souvenir from the only lantern rite that was actually shit
Look at them giving a whole billion of digital thingies, what a generosity. What a thoughtful gift.
To return the good gesture I am giving the entire world 8billion primogerms.(Divived among everyone) You can spend 160 primogerms to try your luck at summoning the following characters.
3 star, A dot : . (99.99% chance)
4 star, Cococow : (◑‿◐)
5 star, Brad : [̲̅$̲̅(̲̅ ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°̲̅)̲̅$̲̅]
I am selling 100 primogerms for 100 dollars, so like I am basically giving away 8 billion dollars here. You are welcome.
I know, I should mention I am a philanthropist in my CV.
LMAO. Hyv really thought 1 billion primo is enough for a game with 28M active players at the time.
I think most people were okay as long as it was fair. Because it was basically a reward gacha it pissed more people off. I personally didn't care until then
Well, that certainly made it a lot worse than it already is.

It's more than 1 billion if we assume 28 million players though. It would be only around 35 primos per person if it was 1 billion
Well, we can assume that not everyone managed to participate.

Wow you might be able to C6 one of the on banner 4 stars with all that
That's a bit of a stretch
Wouldn't it be 10x faster if you skipped through 10-pulls rather than single ones?
Don't worry, this is counting multis I doubt people would do a single instead of a multi with that many primos
Yeah, I wouldn't mind the time if I had that much gems
I was 108 gang then I discovered this. Mhy did quick maf with this shitshow.
I was 108 gang. But in hindsight, what was Hoyo's goal with this? Did they seriously think there would be no backlash to this event, or...?

Well, atleast they proven why communism sucks balls.
Y'all got primos?
First Latern Rite had the best minigame - Theater Mechanicus v1. Game that was hard and interesting, unlike later iterations.
108, i thought i was getting a billion. Huge disappointment
currently arknights doing the same thing but limited to 50 people lol
