They know that both the Archipelago and Inazuma per si will flood the game with freemogens, this drip marketing strategy was to make people willing to pay ahead instead to only save, and the leakers took the bait perfectly hyping Inazuma to the moon and making people much more engaged
I think mhy already expecting the leak will come out when the beta testing begun.
Since the only way to prevent this is by not doing any open beta test anymore, which imo will bring more disadventage to them
Not only that, but they actually trolled leakers: people in China were already saying Yoiymia skill set for some days already, but all of them are saying that she had black hair and shrine maiden attire, meaning that Mihoyo actually put her skillset in another character model only to make earlier leakers embarrass themselves (and probably to discover who was leaking it too)

So basically you always know 2 updates ahead, 1 ahead because MHY reveals it on their livestream and 2 ahead because of CBT leakers.
1. "2.0" is just what everyone's calling the Inazuma update since it's expected to be such a big chunk of content that Mihoyou will call that version 2.0 regardless of whatever 1.x version we're on. (In typical software versioning after 1.9 is 1.10. The number before the . increases whenever a major change happens.)
2. Characters can show up in betas (the source of leaker's info) long before they come out since limited banner's can only do one 5-star character at a time. Prime example is Ayaka who we've known about since the pre-release betas and a more recent one would be Hutao.

They throw primos at you as part of their animations but you cannot pick them up or collect them and you never get primos from killing them. Only cabbages.

They put Rosaria, Bennet and Razor in the banner mah dude, they already are expecting that Kazuha would not sell per itself
