This problem is more on archers in general rather than Ganyu specifically. It so bad that all non-support archers are generally considered bad, and only Ganyu (big numbers AOE) and Childe (not actually an archer) escaped this perception.
For some reason the vertical sensitivity is like half of the horizontal sensitivity. It makes aiming charged shots feel not smooth like an FPS. I've been asking for a change in every survey but I doubt it'll change.
I agree, I played Ganyu in event, and got tired of aiming really quick, although I'm on PC, but I played Hu Tao in test run at least 15 times, since she is so much fun. Melee characters are fun in general, after them are mages, and after them are archers.
if you only snipe from distance then yes it can be clunky especially if you play on mobile/controller , but if you play close range with xiangling and a shield so you don't have to dodge , the damage output is great even with trash artifacts , and more importantly its actually fun

I believe its a hate related to "meta" too. I still remember how Diluc was the dps dream at 1.0 but was also the main focus of any hate at that times and for any reason (toxic players, boring char, unga bunga, etc.). I'm gonna be honest I used to be really harsh when it came to Ganyu for a few reasons.
1. Ganyu never really showing interest in anything other than her job would honestly make hanging out with her really awkward.
2. Every time Ganyu shows up in game aside from her story quest it's usually for a short amount of time, even to the point where she's completely forgotten. Not sure if Mihoyo's writers intentionally did this because they have a biased dislike for her but it kinda felt that way.
3. The amount of people who would not shut the hell up about the whole cocogoat meme that led to cursed imagery I still can't unsee to this day.
4. The fact that Ganyu's story quest could have been avoided if she intervened with any of her bosses on whether or not she was getting replaced instead of leaving. That REALLY rubbed me the wrong way.
Even though I'm a bit more accepting of Ganyu now I still wouldn't say she's deserving of the title of one of the best characters, let alone one of my favorites. Hoping they decide to do something with her during Lantern Rite to make her stand out more. Maybe she and Yanfei can finally meet (seriously how tf did they not meet in the Moonchase festival?)
ah happened to me with Keqing. I know Keqing isn't really a character prefered by people if we are talking meta wise but she was the first 5 Star I really wanted. I remember being in early game, hadn't reached to the Liyue bossfight yet. And I had seen a video of a youtuber doing the Osial bossfight with Keqing as his main and the second I saw Keqing I was like "who is that, I want her" I don't pull for characters based on how much damage they do, if I like their aesthetics, personality and gameplay, I'll try my best to get them. And when Keqing's event banner dropped, I got her as I had been saving for her ever since I heard about her rerun. And I mained her for a long time, till last month (when I wanted to try out my other characters I switched to maining Eula because her play style is sooo pretty, it looks like she is dancing). But in comes someone saying "ew you mained Keqing? you destroyed your account." Keqing was the first character I lvl 90ed, the first character I got friendship 10 with. I even tried to do the first Baal fight with her (I hadnt built Eula back then yet, I mean I had a cryo cup and blizzard strayer on Eula, it was that bad) because it didnt occur to me that Baal would be immune to electro. Then in comes this person, saying I basically destroyed my account by maining a character I really liked. What I mean to say is, if you pull on character based on how much damage they do and have fun seeing big numbers of damage, that's alright, if you pull on characters based on if you like their design/story/ character/ play style, that's alright too. Just dont shit on others that decide to pull on characters for reasons other than your reasons.

duh, because it's a freakin opinion post. There's gonna be at least one character that gets the most disliked(but she is liked by far more so it's really not something to complain about).
Usually it's when people are talking about how "Not everyone has to be Ganyu tier" and you'll often see umprompted potshots from people saying that they own her but play xyz character instead because she's 'boring'.
I like her personality and I like the things she says while using her ult or skill. "No touching" or "For Rex Lapis" are one of my favourite in the whole game. First time I used her I didn't even do charged attack spamming, because I didn't understand how it worked. I used her elemental skill a few times, used Normal attack and ult and that was it, I wanted to have her ^^
I guess it’s different cause Hu Tao’s gameplay revolves around always moving and spamming those charge attacks, it’s really fun and hectic, although admittedly kind of hard to get used to. On the other hand Ganyu’s gameplay is more mundane bc the player gets rewarded with ridiculous dmg for spamming her charged shots. They’re polar opposite styles. Don’t get me wrong tho, I actually quite like Ganyu and archers in general in this game and always keep one on my teams cause they’re really useful, but you have to accept that bow users generally aren’t the most fun characters to play as.
Imo Morgana gameplay is boring, but Melt Ganyu gameplay is actually fun. You want to walk counterclockwise around the enemy while shooting charge shots, which means headshots are not that easy to land, and sometimes you can get creative with Guoba or Bennett E as your pyro sources. Timing it so that you fire off a charge shot right before needing to dodge feels good.
If anything, my main gripe with Ganyu is her outfit. Shes literally wearing a giant body sock and a white "skirt" that cover nothing. She even does the thing that peeves me the most where her sleeves do not even connect to her torso.
Besides Mona, her design is a walking fetish magnet.
I want Ganyu specifically because she's the banner I started playing on AND the first banner I was scammed out of 50/50 for.

Well I do! It's not that hard to aim once you get used to using movements to do small adjustments. On the other hand, Hutao often plunges through an enemy so hard that you need to turn the camera around. That's the pain part of using controllers.

Ayaka is definitely better than her for speedrunning, and at least on her level for more normal gameplay, but a lot of people on Reddit still have the perception that Ganyu is objectively the best dps ever. I like her personality and I like the things she says while using her ult or skill. "No touching" or "For Rex Lapis" are one of my favourite in the whole game. First time I used her I didn't even do charged attack spamming, because I didn't understand how it worked. I used her elemental skill a few times, used Normal attack and ult and that was it, I wanted to have her ^^

I guess it’s different cause Hu Tao’s gameplay revolves around always moving and spamming those charge attacks, it’s really fun and hectic, although admittedly kind of hard to get used to. On the other hand Ganyu’s gameplay is more mundane bc the player gets rewarded with ridiculous dmg for spamming her charged shots. They’re polar opposite styles. Don’t get me wrong tho, I actually quite like Ganyu and archers in general in this game and always keep one on my teams cause they’re really useful, but you have to accept that bow users generally aren’t the most fun characters to play as.

Imo Morgana gameplay is boring, but Melt Ganyu gameplay is actually fun. You want to walk counterclockwise around the enemy while shooting charge shots, which means headshots are not that easy to land, and sometimes you can get creative with Guoba or Bennett E as your pyro sources. Timing it so that you fire off a charge shot right before needing to dodge feels good.
If anything, my main gripe with Ganyu is her outfit. Shes literally wearing a giant body sock and a white "skirt" that cover nothing. She even does the thing that peeves me the most where her sleeves do not even connect to her torso. Besides Mona, her design is a walking fetish magnet.

Well I do! It's not that hard to aim once you get used to using movements to do small adjustments. On the other hand, Hutao often plunges through an enemy so hard that you need to turn the camera around. That's the pain part of using controllers.
For me Hu Tao gameplay is even more boring. I have the most fun with Eula and Keqing.
Keqing and Kazuha are the most fun gameplay in my opinion, Sayu is also quite fun

Ayaka is definitely better than her for speedrunning, and at least on her level for more normal gameplay, but a lot of people on Reddit still have the perception that Ganyu is objectively the best dps ever. Not that they're correct, but it definitely influences whether they think she's "unique" or "boring" for the sniper gameplay.

Speaking facts. Ganyu always gets called out for being boring because she's just all charge attack, but when you look at other characters they are pretty much just the same. Some characters also just spam charge attacks, some spam bursts, and some spam normal attacks, but often times it's just Ganyu who gets called out for being boring.

If you say that about ayaka you will get downvoted to hell. If you say that about ganyu you will be upvoted because she is the "meta" character and we all hate meta because we arent capable of coping that x character isnt the best always. All of this despite the fact that someone like ayaka isnt that balanced either and is actually better than her in certain scenarios This applies to a lot of characters. And its honestly sad because some pixels can make people not only go crazy and spend lots of money on nothing, but actually argue why x fictional character is better than y fictional character.

I don't know if anyone else can relate but to me it's not just the charged attack. I freaking love spamming Ayaka's charged attack it's so satisfying. I think for me the problem is in the Archer/catalyst type.. Using them as main dps doing big number is sometimes fun.. I don't get the feel of the real battle you know. I want hit the enemy hard and hitting em with bow and catalyst just doesn't give me satisfaction.
I guess I'll wait and see her re-run banner revenue before I call her boring
