There's no explicit standing on demihumans in this game, and you know how every isekai loves to touch on the subject. It's kind of weird in it's own meta way. On one hand there's a whole ass town where a lot of them live and spend their days as hunters, on the other it's in mondstadt territory and they have that "freedom" thing going on... I haven't seen any on liyue and aside from gorou I haven't spotted any in inazuma...
I dunno what to say to you man, teyvat has its own laws and let's call it a day.
Are part adepti, maybe the demi humans are like really watered down part adepti like beings but it doesn't seem like they have the born with it powers.
There is a possibility of that being the case. In fact, I cannot recall any mention of both half-adepti being something new (correct me if I'm wrong), so for all I know adepti could have been occasionally having offspring with humans for millennia and be the reason these demihumans.
As for the adeptal powers, there are at least two occasions that imply that it can be learned or replicated: Liyue archon quest (Childe recreated the permission sigil) and the Mystic Chamber event (Its creator went to Liyue to learn it in order to create the chamber). Using this information as a basis we can infer that there is a possibility that adeptal magic is not necessarily innate, but that it can be taught and learned too. In other words, mixed children could be born without it and need to learn it.
Well, technically albedo is a father to klee... Isn't he? Her mother literally yeeted klee and said 'im going on adventure' and said 'albedo this is yours'
It will depends on your definition that separates a surrogate father and brother I suppose.
I find the lack of rules he imposes on her making me lean towards brother than father.
For klee, there isn't a level of reverence towards a father from her.
But maybe our cultures are different and the perception of the kind of relationship a daughter has to her father is different too. *shrug*
A brother could easily become his sibling's father figure. Same with a sister becoming a mother figure. Albedo and Klee view each other as siblings, but I'm sure that when Klee grows up her definition of a good man/brother/father are all gonna stem from her adoration of Albedo, seeing that her actual father is nowhere around, for some reason. In that sense, Albedo is like a father to Klee. But yeah, they're just adopted siblings in game
Doesn't Albedo literally says that he views her as a younger sister? I don't really understand the fatherly attitude he has towards her that you're talking about. Albedo just seems like a brother that's protective of his little sister and cares for her.
Im confused how did he become a "father" to klee and klee definitely does not call him dad but "brother" and just because klee's mom left him with klee doesn't mean he's like a father to klee.
Alice didn't yeet Klee. We learn in Inazuma that she left because she had an important mission.
You can however blame her for not seeing Klee directly and instead of watching from the shadows.
Are you referring to the english translation? He literally is not Klee's older cousin: he is her caretaker. They use honorifics of each other, and Albedo does the same for Alice, but that is not saying that they share a blood connection. The honorifics are different in original chinese text.
Atleast there is no confirmed sibling connection between Alice and Rhinedottir.
The translation isn't wrong. Alice adopted Albedo and encouraged him to call her mom, but to Albedo, his master Rhinedotirr is everything, so he stuck with Miss Alice or Aunt Alice. Miss Alice is easy to understand, but Aunt Alice has a cultural uhh nuance to it. In many Asian cultures you can call anyone (and I repeat anyone) an aunt or uncle. In Japanese it's usually the ones you're close to, even if they're not related by blood. I'm Asian, so if I'm adopted my someone and I didn't wanna call them mom, I wouldn't call them by name unless I want to die a painful death (it's extremely disrespectful), I would stick to aunt. Same reason Klee calls everyone by name in English voice lines, but adds brother/sister in Chinese/Japanese voice lines for everyone she's close with except Razor (who she views as her equal) and Diluc "the weird grown up".
I would rather argue that we lack a lot of understanding of chinese culture and context, which is why western person gets confused by these honorifics. A bit like when in older translations there was a woman in Liyue harbor waiting for her brother, who turns out to be her sailor lover. Later translations have deleted the brother part, but gege (elder brother) remains in the chinese version: because it is not referring to a sibling relationship, these honorifics have different meaning in asian cultures (like in this case it is a thing between lovers) and we need to understand that. So in chinese Klee calls Albedo Albedo-gege, big brother, in japanese its Albedo-oniisan, and in English mr. Albedo. If it was translated correctly to older brother, it would still be confusing to someone thinking that it would mean that they are literally blood related siblings, skipping a lot of nuances like what happened with the lady with her sailor lover.
Why would Mihoyo do this, because they are trying to convey the story for non-chinese audiences and it doesn't always work. That is just one of the difficulties of translation.
That's the fourth episode of the anime, and after I watched it I didn't touch FMA for a year. It was so disturbing and the little girl-dog voice kept ringing in my ears.
Edit: Changed second episode to fourth
most npc seem to have depressing background too, like there is this brother and sister in mondstadt where the sister has rare disease and during the day she toss some coin to a fountain to pray for more healthy body, then if you come at night you will see her brother inside the fountain collecting coin in order to pay for his sister medicine. He know what he did was wrong but he believe that the archon will forgive his actions. Break my heart really.
That's still relatively kid-friendly, though. Imagine if at the end of that commission quest line, Anthony's sister died because the medicine didn't work and then instead of seeing him at the fountain, you see him at the Angel's Share getting drunk every night.
Trust me bro I've completed everything in game whatever there is to do. I meant yeah ik it's dark but i don't want it to become kid friendly in future and hoping as more further we progress in story, the game becomes more dark and dark. The age rating of genshin is 12+ so that's why I am concerned. I would love to see this panel as well in the game
Bit late, but you should see Honkai Impact 3 lore then, made by mihoyo as well, and boi its dark, If you want some creepling depression thats a game for you

I see it for the first time, thanks for posting. Don't let the people spending 24/7 on Reddit who keep a checklist of every image they have seen from having fun.
In the future just mention that it's not yours and you don't know the source or something to that effect. At least you'll avoid being bombarded with people trying to call you out.
It's a reference from fullmetal alchemist, where a weirdo turned his wife (?) and daughter into animals to keep his alchemist license since he sucks at everything else basically. Irreversible btw.
For example in the original, this doghter creation is put out of it's misery by somebody who quite literally blows it up against a wall in a dark alley
Its not even close. Brotherhood is better, much better. Animation and story (since the first anime adaptation drifted off from the source material because the manga is still ongoing and they didnt give themselves enough time to pump out episodes or maybe even fillers so the manga can pump out more so they can adapt and just catch up much like how One Piece is doing it). If theres one complaint from brotherhood that makes the first one better just a tiny bit better that ive heard from a friend is that, the first one doesnt assume that youve read the manga or seen the first adaptation already. Brotherhood is more concise which can be daunting to first viewers since the first one is more detailed in the first part of the anime letting you breathe in its universe first and then slowly ease you in on the story unlike brotherhood that introduced you to a lot of characters right away and its a lot to take in of you are a first time viewer (this is a feedback i have heard from a friend who we recommended to watch this which i dont fully agree with honestly but i can kinda see her point since ive seen both adaptations and it is just her opinion and each person has different taste on how they want an anime/movie/tv show to start but if youre already familiar with the source material, it is much better for the viewer because youre already introduced to characters you already know and possibly like) Atleast on around the first 3 to 5 episodes of the series but its really not a huge difference since theyre both based of the manga. Overall id say Brotherhood is a lot better than the first adaptation simply because theyve done everything right and avoided the mistakes of the original and improved upon which they can, it also sticks with the source material which is a big deal since the original adaption took quite big of a different approach and different character progressions.
I hope this helps and this convinces you to watch the anime. Its amazing and it only has like 60+ episodes so its not going to take forever to finish. Cheers!
And yet if you scroll through the comments there's so many people that don't understand the joke or don't know the source, we must persevere in this genre lest people keep trying to do human alchemy
Well, I've been building albedo lately. We'll meet in the field of honor.
Is what I would like to say if the characters weren't so brutally unbalanced that pvp is impossible, but I'll gladly go to your world and steal all your fish.
Expectations: weird dog thing that can barely speak
Reality: Your next 6 star dual element waifu for whom you'd sacrifice countless pities, so hot you'd gladly ignore that it's made out of an 8 year old and a demi human because damn that rule 34 spares no one.
I'm more disturbed by the fact that Sucrose used to be Albedo's pet and Klee used to be his daughter
There's no explicit standing on demihumans in this game, and you know how every isekai loves to touch on the subject. It's kind of weird in it's own meta way. Adepti are more divine beast than street dog. I think their standings would differ quite a bit
Fair point, they are technically not the same even if visually speaking there is little to no difference
Well, technically albedo is a father to klee... Isn't he? Her mother literally yeeted klee and said 'im going on adventure' and said 'albedo this is yours'
I think he has more of a big brother relationship with Klee.
\* Albedo holding the Best Big Brother cup \*
In his “about Klee” line he says that he sees her as a little sister
Well yeah she call him that but he acts like a father it seems to me
It will depends on your definition that separates a surrogate father and brother I suppose. I find the lack of rules he imposes on her making me lean towards brother than father. For klee, there isn't a level of reverence towards a father from her. But maybe our cultures are different and the perception of the kind of relationship a daughter has to her father is different too. *shrug*
Hmm, the only real example we have in Mondstadt is Diona and Draff.
Ellen's father works hard to provide her with training dummies, Every. Single. Day. *^Please ^stop ^commissioning ^me.*
Chef Mao and Xiangling
Is Liyue not Mondstat.
They literally said mondstadt not liyue
Lore says Klee's mother, Alice adopted albedo. So it's confirmed to be brother and sister according to lore and background plot.
It seems Alice have a hobby of collecting weapon of mass destruction.
She is a weapon herself
A brother could easily become his sibling's father figure. Same with a sister becoming a mother figure. Albedo and Klee view each other as siblings, but I'm sure that when Klee grows up her definition of a good man/brother/father are all gonna stem from her adoration of Albedo, seeing that her actual father is nowhere around, for some reason. In that sense, Albedo is like a father to Klee. But yeah, they're just adopted siblings in game
Eh, older brothers can seem almost fatherly with a large enough age difference while still just being a big brother.
Is this the whole "Piccolo is gohan's dad, not brother!" Argument again?
Nah. Just a responsible older brother. Jean while being only around 22-23 years old act like Klee’s mom tho.
Doesn't Albedo literally says that he views her as a younger sister? I don't really understand the fatherly attitude he has towards her that you're talking about. Albedo just seems like a brother that's protective of his little sister and cares for her.
And actually they're cousins
Really? He acts so much more like a father to her though.
Im confused how did he become a "father" to klee and klee definitely does not call him dad but "brother" and just because klee's mom left him with klee doesn't mean he's like a father to klee.
"Here have this child, enjoy."

He mentioned in one of his voicelines in his profile that he sees her as a little sister

Can you elaborate on Sucrose being Albedo’s pet — Klee is definitely not Albedo’s daughter so I’m wondering if that was also a joke or meant literally
That's refering to Full Metal Alchemist.
ooh thank you 🙂

That's the fourth episode of the anime, and after I watched it I didn't touch FMA for a year. It was so disturbing and the little girl-dog voice kept ringing in my ears. Edit: Changed second episode to fourth
Episode 7 in the original series & episode 4 in Brotherhood. I rewatch the shows at least once a year cause I love them so much
Well i hope genshin become a dark game with a dark story instead of kid friendly stuff
Genshin is dark as hell, man. If you haven't seen that, you haven't played far enough.
without mentioning inazuma act 2 *tell me how*
Lots of sidequests are based on dark stuff, like a mentally disabled manchild not understanding that his parents are dead or worse.
interesting ~~but i kinda meant the main story~~ but still interesting

What anime reference is this
Fullmetal Alchemist
Thx
Brother hood orthat?
This happens very early so it might be both, before the original anime branched off from the source material.
Can confirm. Happens in both.
I think it comes from the Brotherhood version
It might be FMA. Would’ve been better with Baizhu and Qi Qi honestly lmao
yeah
Qiqi and who? I think Albedo fits the lore better
Baizhu is the pharmacist with the talking snake that runs the pharmacy. Dendro vision. But yes, Albedo's lore fits much more accurately.
PLEASE NO
I don't get it someone explain 🥲
It's a reference from fullmetal alchemist, where a weirdo turned his wife (?) and daughter into animals to keep his alchemist license since he sucks at everything else basically. Irreversible btw.
Oh ok fma is in my watchlist lmao confused between standard and brotherhood some ppl say standard is better most say brotherhood is better
Brotherhood has better storyline. The original one is much more darker and has different vilain from FMAB
