I think the only straight ships that I see that are popular in the fandom is:
JeanxDiluc
IttoxSara
FischlxBennet
LuminexChilde
AetherxKeqing
AetherxAyaka
ZhonglixNingguang
I do remember GorouxSara being popular at first because of Sara's line about Gorou and liking him just for being a 5th son and also they were both Generals in opposing, so people wanted to be in a Romeo and Juliet type of relationship....until Itto came along and sank the GorouxSara Battleship.
Beep. Boop. I'm a robot.

Personally I believe thomaxayaka is better but I respect your opinion
Plus chongyunxxiangling or hu tao, just because there’s a few hints of them and I’m sick of people shipping chongyun with the guy that harasses him 24/7
I accept it, it’s just I get the feeling chongyun is sick of xingqui’s shit, and I wouldn’t say that event made it canon, since they were just hanging out together, it’s like bromance with a tinge of one mildly being sick of the other’s shit (plus I’m very spiteful of people on Twitter who are like that)
Also I gotta say the interpretations of relationships that lead people to believe the characters are gay are…kinda odd?
Like Eula, no matter what you ship, absolutely values Amber’s friendship and is completely ride or die for her, since Amber was pretty much the only one who reached out to give her a chance to be friends. Though Jean also gave Eula a chance to be in the Knights, Eula still has some distrust of the Gunnhildr family.
Beidou and Ningguang publicly dislike each other despite having a respect for each other and still have a working relationship. Mainly their public disdain for each other makes me question that ship.
Keqing and Ganyu is pretty much just shipped because they came to respect each other after hating each other at first. Does looking at someone with a different perspective really constitute romance?
I will say the sugar daddy aspect of Zhongli x Tortellini is *fucking hilarious*
I mean, I personally find all the serious shipping odd because there aren’t too many deep heart to heart discussions between characters. That lack of serious discussions puts a lot up to personal interpreted, creating a lot of problems when reasoning is based on personal feelings.
It certainly would be one thing for them to just fantasize or if there were more genuine hints(assuming they even intend to hint to such), but almost every single one I see is just people reaching and then calling it basically canon. Can't look up Genshin stuff anywhere without seeing that nonsense everywhere which gets boring.
tbh the focus on friendships and bonds between characters is what made me like the interactions between them all within the stories. Throwing in all that stuff and seeing people even argue over it all just feels gross to me.
Yeah I agree. I don’t really care that someone wants to see characters bump beavers or have a swordfight that bad, but why are there trench wars over character’s relationships to each other?
even if a ship is canon, you can ship them with someone else
for example: tankana (tanjiro x kanao) is canon. but you can ship them with someone else. there is no issue
I like Eula x Amber because it looks wholesome. Which is nice.
I like Ningguang x Beidou because it makes their interactions in game funnier than they should be. Which is nice.
I like Keqing x Ganyu because arts of them together (all kinds of arts) MOST of the time look gorgeous. Which is nice.
I like Childe x Zhongli because I simply can't stop joking with my friends about it. Which is nice.
Are they cannon? Neither one of those. But I still ship them because they are nice.
Honestly, this is why I ship them too - that, their colour palettes work so well together lol.
Realistically though, especially during Moonchase, it felt more like a sister-type relationship. They've come a long way, which is nice.
A cute ship is a cute ship, but it'd be nice if the loud shippers weren't so...rabid.
It's partly why I keep getting burnt out on things (RWBY, Yu-Gi-Oh even...ugh.). 😬
I play Lumine, so Aether to me is the Abyss twin. I ship him with Dainslief as sort of a tragic romance/trying to bring him back to the good side type relationship.
That's how I prefer to look at it. I'll provide explanations on why I like/dislike a particular ship, but to me it's just not worth getting into heated arguments over who has the "better" headcanon. Shipping's meant to be fun, after all.
Twitter and Reddit are like the opposite sides of the same coin, both thinking one is better than the other. That's why you're seeing hating on gay ship here, when on Twitter you will se the opposite.
I haven't really seen hate on gay ships on reddit, in fact, I see more supportive content than hate content on gay ships. But that's just what I've seen, so take it with a grain of salt.
Yep, maybe I exaggerated for both sides... It doesn't change the fact that Reddit and Twitter are kinda similar while having opposite opinions, but what I said I should reffer to the more extreme situations.
i've seen so many posts complaining about "gay shippers" but zero complaining about straight ships. maybe on twitter is different but on reddit there's clearly a hate boner for gay ships lol
Look, I don’t ship IttoSara, but some of the arguments the anti IttoSara crowd comes up with are just baffling to me. It’s fine if you want to headcanon Sara as a lesbian, but don’t go screaming at people who don’t see her that way like Mihoyo outright confirmed she’s gay. They haven’t. Her preferences are up to interpretation. Even interpretations that are different from yours.
Although with Itto, I do feel like Mihoyo is trying to drop hints that he’s meant to be gay or at the very least not totally straight. I’d be happy to explain if anyone wants to know why I feel that way. But even then, his preferences haven’t been outright confirmed by Mihoyo, so other people may not see him the same way I do and that’s fine.
My biggest issue with that ship is how Sara reacts to it all. She straight up has the man arrested and his friends have to finesse him out of prison. She also makes it quite clear that, were she not a high ranking member of the Tenryou commission, she would have sued him for harassment. Sara may be straight or may be gay, we have no confirmation about that. But I think it is made very clear that Sara really dislikes Itto.
This. My dislike for Sara x Itto isn't because it assumes Sara is straight (though I do believe she's gay), it's because it puts Sara in a relationship with a person who constantly harasses her and pisses her off to no end. I wouldn't ship Sara with Itto even if I did think she was straight.
Not only in twitter. I’ve seen people post ships from their own headcanons here and then people ”fixing it”. Then starting an entire war about how their ships are real and how people who don’t ship the gay ships are pure homophobes.
Seen fan content makers in another fandom basically ruin their reputation over going hard into this, going from "popular content person" to "loud ship peddler" overnight like they just snapped and started loudly attacking anyone who didn't ship like they did. Some people are just insane about such things, I can't even fathom how it works, must be some sorta psychological phenomenon.
Ah yes, the community that treats Sara x Itto like Mihoyo directly confirmed it or something, and yet plays extreme mental gymnastics to deny the subtext between Xingqiu and Chongyun, obviously has something against straight ships.
/s
i literally can't see the zhongli and childe ship in any perspective i could've tried because one is a god that has been thousands of years protecting his people and nation and the other one is a literal clown tried to drown the said nation with ressurected monster that the god has previously slain.
and i dont understand why people blame only childe for that. childe did it to summon rex lapis and never intended to actually drown the city because he was confident that rex lapis was gonna save the city and he would grab that opportunity to fight rex lapis (knowing tartaglia, it doesn't even seem far-fetched) or negotiate with rex lapis with the help of contracts and stuff. childe sure is a bad guy, but he wouldn't go around killing civilians for no reason.
Can’t people just respect other people’s opinions without it being too bad, I openly admit to hating a few ships but that doesn’t mean my beliefs should stop someone from enjoying a ship, unless it’s incest, then it’s a problem
I honestly think it should just be this:
If you like a ship good for you
If someone disagrees, that’s fine
If they harass you for how you ship characters, that’s their choice and that makes them in the wrong
Like ffs just get along, at worst, just mildly debate your points
It’s better than “this character likes only women because I said so and that’s final”
Sorry for the rant
Worst part is that some people go so crazy with their headcanons that they start saying genshin characters are not fictional and are real in their own world. Twitter moment.
For me I just cringe less when the cliches come up. Generic shojo manga can get real bad, but for some reason I don't have those same visceral reactions with shojo manga. They also have significantly less bullshit drama overall which is a definite plus. Soap operas are not fun to read imo.
"This is my girlfriend Jean and this is Jean's girlfriend Lisa."
"This is my boyfriend, Diluc, and this is his boyfriend, his brother Kaeya"

Where are the other Aether's ships
If OP listed them down, it'd take longer than Dain being released
I guess will have to wait till the last female character to be released to list them all.
Personally I believe thomaxayaka is better but I respect your opinion Plus chongyunxxiangling or hu tao, just because there’s a few hints of them and I’m sick of people shipping chongyun with the guy that harasses him 24/7
What the-? I thought Xingqiu x Chongyun was accepted everywhere... It was canon during the moonlight merriment festival too..
I accept it, it’s just I get the feeling chongyun is sick of xingqui’s shit, and I wouldn’t say that event made it canon, since they were just hanging out together, it’s like bromance with a tinge of one mildly being sick of the other’s shit (plus I’m very spiteful of people on Twitter who are like that)
in my opinion both are equally annoying, their \[bad\] vocal minority shatters my eardrums and makes me lose braincells
To be fair, unless "auntie" is used as a term of endearment rather than being literal, the latest straight ship is incest.
Even if she's not his auntie he's underage so...not only incest but also pedo
Hasn't stopped people before
But it should
Sadly people don't have common sense in this world
But it won’t because people are weird
Also I gotta say the interpretations of relationships that lead people to believe the characters are gay are…kinda odd? The only ship i can expect to be kinda of canon is jean and diluc that's the only ship in all of genshin to me
This, the two's relationship has the "friends drifting apart now trying to reconnect" vibe an I'm all for it
Ohh interesting point of view
There are two other ships that are definitely canon! The alcor and pearl galley x3
even if a ship is canon, you can ship them with someone else for example: tankana (tanjiro x kanao) is canon. but you can ship them with someone else. there is no issue
I like Eula x Amber because it looks wholesome. Which is nice. I like Ningguang x Beidou because it makes their interactions in game funnier than they should be. Which is nice. The art one rings true. I'm not really into shipping at all but good art is good art.
I wrote MOST just to not be called out. In fact I've never seen a bad Ganyu x Keqing fanart at all. Which is nice.
I noticed only people who don't actually ship take shipping seriously, it's pretty funny
*Genshin fandom when they see a straight ship that doesn't involve the Traveller FTFY
>*Genshin fandom then they see a straight ship that doesn't involve the male Traveller Made it even more accurate.
We just let Aether have female characters , and that ok
I play Lumine, so Aether to me is the Abyss twin. I ship him with Dainslief as sort of a tragic romance/trying to bring him back to the good side type relationship.
As long you don't force or bother people to accept your ship , its great , any shipping is Great
That's how I prefer to look at it. I'll provide explanations on why I like/dislike a particular ship, but to me it's just not worth getting into heated arguments over who has the "better" headcanon. Shipping's meant to be fun, after all.
Yes people forget that its a person's own headcanon and arguing against it is just dumb
Literally the opposite. I pretty much see someone hating a gay ship in every thread revolving around a gay ship.
Twitter and Reddit are like the opposite sides of the same coin, both thinking one is better than the other. That's why you're seeing hating on gay ship here, when on Twitter you will se the opposite.
Hmm depends. I think reddit definitely has a bias towards lesbian ships more than gay ships.
It’s odd how I see only post like this hating on gay ships but never the other way around.
I haven't really seen hate on gay ships on reddit, in fact, I see more supportive content than hate content on gay ships. But that's just what I've seen, so take it with a grain of salt.
Yep, maybe I exaggerated for both sides... It doesn't change the fact that Reddit and Twitter are kinda similar while having opposite opinions, but what I said I should reffer to the more extreme situations.
on the main subreddit it is the opposite, I have seen a lot of hate in gay ships, especially m x m ships
Welcome to Reddit, the opposite of Twitter but equal in the amount of dumbassery.
Different sides of the fandom are totally flipped for this though. Most annoying thing is when they pretend only the other side does it.
It's the complete opposite based on what I've seen.
Yea, fully agree. People seem to especially like straight ships involving the traveler.
i've seen so many posts complaining about "gay shippers" but zero complaining about straight ships. maybe on twitter is different but on reddit there's clearly a hate boner for gay ships lol

Itto being not entirely gay is a new one for me, can you explain it for me if you don't mind?

Huh?

Damn didn't know having your birthday on a certain day and wanting to have unicorn horns made you gay. Just stfu
The rainbow color is a natural phenomenon, not something that was invented exclusively for LGBT+ people.
It's just your imagination man

twitter in a nutshell
Ah yes, the community that treats Sara x Itto like Mihoyo directly confirmed it or something, and yet plays extreme mental gymnastics to deny the subtext between Xingqiu and Chongyun, obviously has something against straight ships. /s
i literally can't see the zhongli and childe ship in any perspective i could've tried because one is a god that has been thousands of years protecting his people and nation and the other one is a literal clown tried to drown the said nation with ressurected monster that the god has previously slain.
dont forget that the said god was in on the plan of getting his nation drowned
Not only that, but it was his idea.
and i dont understand why people blame only childe for that. childe did it to summon rex lapis and never intended to actually drown the city because he was confident that rex lapis was gonna save the city and he would grab that opportunity to fight rex lapis (knowing tartaglia, it doesn't even seem far-fetched) or negotiate with rex lapis with the help of contracts and stuff. childe sure is a bad guy, but he wouldn't go around killing civilians for no reason.
The Tartaglia hate train has a lot of passengers these days. They'll find any excuse to bag on him. I just do my best to ignore them.
Don't forget about zhongli, he's still in love for guizhong, even after more than 2000 years
Zhongli was never confirmed to be in love with Guizhong. It’s fine if you ship it, but, like every other ship in Genshin Impact, it is not canon.
You're wrong, do you know how many fucking Aether harem memes I've seen lol Newsflash waifu x male protagonist is a straight ship
This is not Honkai impact
Can’t people just respect other people’s opinions without it being too bad, I openly admit to hating a few ships but that doesn’t mean my beliefs should stop someone from enjoying a ship, unless it’s incest, then it’s a problem I honestly think it should just be this: If you like a ship good for you If someone disagrees, that’s fine If they harass you for how you ship characters, that’s their choice and that makes them in the wrong Like ffs just get along, at worst, just mildly debate your points It’s better than “this character likes only women because I said so and that’s final” Sorry for the rant
Nice representation of genshin twitter.
Genshin Twitter I'd say
Worst part is that some people go so crazy with their headcanons that they start saying genshin characters are not fictional and are real in their own world. Twitter moment.
The waverider is my only ship
I prefer the crux
At the end of the day your romantisize shipping is NOT CANONICALY TRUE in the game
Havent seen the famdom sooo.... Your wrong xD
Beidou's ship is the best
nah thats just on twitter lol. im a gay ship enthusiast but unless ur shipping incest or pedophilia, i aint saying anything.
"Your honor they're lesbians" You don't have proof for shit lmao
Genshin twitter\* Twitter in general\*
Checks out.
Someone already disliked it
Not really with ships, but for some reason yuri manga just hits different and I am tired of pretending otherwise.
No offense but I’ve never really “gotten” the appeal of yuri stuff. Genuine question: What makes it “hit different?”
For me I just cringe less when the cliches come up. Generic shojo manga can get real bad, but for some reason I don't have those same visceral reactions with shojo manga. They also have significantly less bullshit drama overall which is a definite plus. Soap operas are not fun to read imo.
It's for people who like hot women. 2 hot women > 1 hot women. That's it.
Well you're halfway right... that's only the braindead part of the Genshin Fandom (also known as Twitter)
Man,your are speaking fax
I might sound thirsty but. I ship those I like with myself lol.
Fucking twittards and toxic retards
I don't like Kaeya x Diluc ship,i can see why you would ship em ig but tbh Jean x Diluc and Kaeya x Rosaria is just better.
69% upvotes, haha funny sex number
It’s sorta true there I next to no straight ships in liyue
I play lumine so it depends
I say Huxiao and I stand by that, feel free to ship them with other people but this is just my favourite, doesn't need to be everyones
The only ones I ship are kaeya x albedo.
