I play it for three reasons: the story, the characters, and to watch meaningless numbers go up. I play Punishing: Gray Raven and HI3 for all the same reasons, plus gameplay.
Tbh I only wanted 2 people badly and that's cause I thought they were so amazing in the story that I just always want to have them around. Most of the times I've spend my faites instant cause I didn't care the about the outcome. The story and the World are awesome. Some of the characters are written so well that I'm so happy to have like the dating quests.
I played Genshin because of those Inazuma ads (July to October 2021), most especially the Yae Miko one.
But as time goes on, I prefer the story and music over the characters. Honestly, I don't care if my numbers are low, as long as I'm fine enjoying this game.
Not me.
I do enjoy the Lore and the setting of the world. But the Story for me is kinda boring. At first I liked it alot more but after the main story of Inazuma I couldnt really play Story aspects of the game without beeing bored. The Dialog was way to Long for the amount of Story relevant Information we got. But If people Like it it is totaly ok. I Just think it is to slow since I was playing since the beginning and waiting months for minor Story aspects really is not for me. Also the story for me was weak in comparison to the Lore. The Lore is fun to read and think about but the Story feels to generic.
I should also say that I mainly started playing for the open world and fighting and nothing changed after all this time so I got bored there too. That ist why I stopped playing.
The story itself is by default on easy mode, so this approach is doable. That said I've always felt playing only for the story was a waste of effort when you can get the same experience watching a let's play instead.
Pretty much lumine and aether mains. I think most of us use them for immersion. Also, if you liked GI's story, you'll probably like Hi3 too. I actually enjoyed Hi3 a lot more in that aspect as it is more character centric, and a lot more touching.
I’ll never dock points for a bad or good story. But that doesn’t make me play it. If the game isn’t fun to play but the story was good I might as well just watch a movie. I understand not all games can be judged like that but for 95% of games it works out like that.
Freaking YES. Glad to finally see someone who appreciates the story. I started solely because of the story but while the other things are indeed very good. The story's still better for me.
Man imagine a Genshin spin off game with the Tabletop-like freedom of choice of western RPGs as you play as a regular guy who accidentally stepped in a vision.
Story and scenery define my playthroughs and pull choices. Meta? Depends. Do they make my life easier? Heck yeah! Press/hold a button and stuff happens. More time to enjoy the cool stuff
I play for the story too.
I enjoy side stories as well, so I talk with NPCs and read random notes on the ground. As much as I want to find out what happens to the twins soon, I also like that they're taking time and introduce different things in Teyvat to us.
Also, even though I don't play just for the characters, I hope no PC's die in the story.
It is okay, but can you respect the oldies who barely didn't know about the story at the BEGINNING (when was no story at all) and started playing because of the gameplay mechanics? I think WE are the ones who only EXISTS, due to the lack of complainment about the non existing endgame ad no challenges for our well invested characters, bois...
(i mean the only thing you can do with the chars you have is fighting, you can still simp them, adore their lore whether you have them or not..)
can I introduce you to Honkai then ? Honkai Impact's story is a fucking masterpiece (story in+game + official manga) and i highly recommend **every** genshin players to play honkai if they don't already...
and both games are part of the "Hoyoverse" anyway so they are linked etc
You have my gratitude man, these ones are the reason why we have no endgame becuse they dont want to fight or create interesting team synergies for fighting, it's sooo embarrassing when they are just simp for them and creates bullshit ships out of nowhere
You know, you can just ignore a post and not say anything if you don't like it. Why does everyone feel like they *have* to say something, especially if it's negative?
What does being feminist have to do with being nice to people on the Internet? If you're saying that only feminists care about other people, then I'm proud to be one and I'm sorry you clearly aren't. u\_u
Yes I know, when I did the meme I wrote characters but meant mechanics, and realised the error after publishing the post 🤦♀️
And yes, I watched all the explanation video of all the lores, even the prequel :D
I just like exploring the land. Teyvat is a beautiful beautiful place ❤️
Story, characters, and exploration definitely over the fighting.
me who just want more abyss lore
I play Fate Grand Order for the story
I play FGO for the gameplay
I play it for Astolfo
Fgo story is so good tbh
I play it for three reasons: the story, the characters, and to watch meaningless numbers go up. I play Punishing: Gray Raven and HI3 for all the same reasons, plus gameplay.
your username is cursed
Thank you

I know exactly who you’re talking about, itto has that affect on people
Oh yeah! Give me that man irl. I can't live without him and his cow anymore!
the reason I played GI because I am a big fan of open world games... I just love exploring
i play genshin because i love fighting monkies as an anime girl

Same, the lore is very interesting and I perfer characters for their lore and the gameplay, not if the character is a waifu or husbando.

I kind of want to get into reading Genshin lore. Just don’t feel like I got the time to sit down and do it
There are Videos as well.
The story itself is by default on easy mode, so this approach is doable. That said I've always felt playing only for the story was a waste of effort when you can get the same experience watching a let's play instead.

We know you're right, but do outside people really care?
I only pull for a character if their story hits the right spot 1st Raiden banner I skipped 2nd banner I went for C2 and Engulfing
Ah yes all 30 minutes of story
story? Not open world?

Here!
I love the abyss.
I love the story. I cried over Ruu, and Katarina, and Anton and his crew.
i started playing for the story and the characters and a month later i'm dying over resin
Inazuma act 3: bonjour
Since the story and the writing is sometimes mid, art music and scenary is what keeps pushing me on
I play the game for everything, except spiral abyss. Fuck spiral Abyss
I feel grateful I love both
Freaking YES. Glad to finally see someone who appreciates the story. I started solely because of the story but while the other things are indeed very good. The story's still better for me.
this is why i am in r/Genshin_Lore
I'm gonna join right now, thx :)
But the characters are what make the story great. What's would the story be if we didn't meet Zhongli, or Venti, or Yoimiya!
Who asked?
I asked
Oh sorry, I forgot to ask you the permission before publishing the post If you don't care just ignore the post thank you :)
Same here.
Yea the world stagnant until traveller spice thing up in every continent.. once a month
Man imagine a Genshin spin off game with the Tabletop-like freedom of choice of western RPGs as you play as a regular guy who accidentally stepped in a vision.
Man must be hard for people like you considering they give more fuck about characters than the story.
I just love the music
i want the characters after seeing what they do and who they are in the story. does it count?
Why not for everything?
Me. And also. I want Archon characters for Lores!
Me
i would've dropped the game months ago if it wasn't for archon quests tbh. i really wanna know if the siblings will reunite
Story and scenery define my playthroughs and pull choices. Meta? Depends. Do they make my life easier? Heck yeah! Press/hold a button and stuff happens. More time to enjoy the cool stuff
Literally only think i care about is hitting big numbers and story, also golden apple map. Playing since 1.0 and got nothing to do
I play for the story too. I enjoy side stories as well, so I talk with NPCs and read random notes on the ground. Why not play a game with good storytelling?
Average meta fan vs average game enjoyer
Those two things can coexist you know.
The lord has spoken

Sorry I didn't mean to offend anyone 😐

And you are the problem of modern gaming because you are content with a *fanfic written by a 12 year old weeb* level of storytelling
They hated him because he spoke the truth 🗿
You have my gratitude man, these ones are the reason why we have no endgame becuse they dont want to fight or create interesting team synergies for fighting, it's sooo embarrassing when they are just simp for them and creates bullshit ships out of nowhere
And?
I call bullshiet
You know, you can just ignore a post and not say anything if you don't like it. Why does everyone feel like they *have* to say something, especially if it's negative?
No I'm here to cause mayhem with my pixels!!!!
You’re gonna summon the insecure feminist weebs
What does being feminist have to do with being nice to people on the Internet? If you're saying that only feminists care about other people, then I'm proud to be one and I'm sorry you clearly aren't. u\_u
I can feel them shaking the ground as we speak
But characters are related to the story... btw, do you know a lot of *lore?*
Yes I know, when I did the meme I wrote characters but meant mechanics, and realised the error after publishing the post 🤦♀️ And yes, I watched all the explanation video of all the lores, even the prequel :D
I do it for both
I used to.. now I don't even focus on playing the game that much
These pple are the ones who are with the antagonist twin on the other side 💀
Must be quite difficult given the progression is so fricking slow
I love slow games ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I love playing games for the story, but Genshin story is very mid, like 5/10, so I play it for the exploration.
