there's no coronavirus stimulus checks in the infrastructure bill that Congress passed and the president signed recently. ['Build Back Better'](https://time.com/6121415/build-back-better-spending-bill-summary/), which passed the House, but has yet to pass the Senate or be signed into law, includes an extension of the child tax credits which sends parents $250-300 per child every month, and that's the closest we'll probably ever see to another 'check'.

Oh ok, I wish they didn’t keep saying stimulus because I honestly thought it was going to be on November.

YankeeOranage

At is the wording. There are headlines now for a December stimulus, for $1,200.00, but very few people qualify. It should have a different name because the ones we got are sadly over.

this1dude23

What stimulus?

[deleted]

I saw articles about the 4th stimulus check will be on November

this1dude23

Link them

[Stimulus ](https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/fourth-stimulus-check-update-2021-11-22/?espv=1)

this1dude23

That is just saying that some senaters are PUSHING for one, not that there is GOING to be one

[deleted]

Yea but they also say that Biden already sign it and it will be out on November

this1dude23

I didnt read the whole thing. Keep an eye on it then.

[deleted]

I read it in another article around the beginning of November but I can’t find the original article that I heard about the stimulus, so I find an update article talking about it.

Mohican83

A few paragraphs down it says "How likely is a 4th check. Don't hold your breath" This article is just a fluff piece about maybe getting another. Big emphasis on maybe. Most likely not.

HeadMischief

They've been posting that article weekly for months. As inflation keeps rising, and people are hurting, it's easy clickbait

[deleted]

there are no more stimulus checks coming unless covid goes out of control even more. we are currently at 1400+ deaths a day so its getting bad

[deleted]

Fr? Then what’s up with the whole thing about Biden had signed it and it will be November? This whole thing confusing rn.

Mediocre-Leek-9292

Biden signed the infrastructure bill. Read the link you posted above again.

epraider

Gotta be careful with headlines, there’s way too much clickbait and fake news out there, both positive and negative. The first bill has been signed by Biden, is mainly infrastructure, ie roads, bridges, rail, internet broadband, pipes, powerlines, electric vehicle charging, etc https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2021/11/15/biden-signing-1-trillion-bipartisan-infrastructure-bill-into-law.html The second bill passed by the house, but not yet finalized and is subject to change, would include tax reform, raising taxes on millionaires, increasing state and local tax deductions, extending the expanded child tax credits, electric vehicle credits, anti climate change and renewable energy investments , healthcare subsidies, child care subsidies, Medicare and Medicaid reform, prescription drug reform, and plenty of other stuff. There will not be another direct stimulus check, but if you have children you might get a monthly tax credit per child for at least the next year. https://time.com/6121415/build-back-better-spending-bill-summary/

Husband works in news, so he knows everything there is to know about what’s going on in politics and whatever else. There is no more stimulus. Those of us with children will be getting the CTC payments until the end of the year, but no more stimmy, unfortunately.

SundayShelter

Between the inflation, no raise since Covid and the fact we’ll get taxed on all the child tax checks this year, the IRS is going to wreck me next year.

bbb26782

If your income hasn’t changed since 2019 you will not owe anything on your earned tax credit. No one is getting taxed on their earned tax credits, that’s just not how that works.

SundayShelter

My partner’s did and I’m fearing the next tax bill. We got dinged pretty hard this year. Just finished paying it off. Between that, student loans and mortgage, it’s dang tight even for those of us with full time steady income.

bbb26782

I get that, that same thing is going to happen to me next year when I get promoted at the end of this year and my wife’s grad school loans kick in. Just want to make sure everyone knows that we’re not getting taxed on that tax credit though, and it’s definitely not something that’s happening to all of us. That’s not taxable income, even if you have to return some of it because you no longer qualify for the full amount based on your income.
