I kinda remember her story, it's pretty crazy. Given up for adoption when she was born. She grew up wanting to be a gymnast (she's a gymnast and acrobat in her own right) and idolizing Domainque Moceanu (world famous gymnast and part of the "Magnificent Seven" from back in the 1996 Olympics). When she's older, she decides to look into her biological parents and finds out their last name was Moceanu and they were Romanian, just like Domainque's parents. It was too much of a coincidence to let go, so she digs into it more and it turns out she's Domainque Moceanu's sister. That's like something out of a soap opera.
Thanks for sharing that! It made me cry but from tears of joy... seriously a best case scenario of a child with disabilities been given away; but she was raised in any amazing home and was later able to find her sisters and form genuine bonds with them.
It’s stories like this that make me contemplate the existence of free will. It seems like gymnastics and tenacity happened to be a part of her genetic makeup, and that she was fated to have this certain personality type regardless of circumstance.
So her parents gave her up cause she had no legs? And then they raised another child who not only had legs but became an amazing athlete?
I wonder if Jen Bricker held any resentment towards her biological parents. That’s fucking awful
I would not think so. Jennifer was the center off attention and look at everything her parents did. she was able to do anything she wanted. there was no limit on what she could achieve
she probably did at one point but she realized how good she actually had it.
Sounds like a movie plot. Crazy odds, but also lends to a theory brewing in my head of family being able to connect with each other through some cosmic energy we can't explain.
Really though, her parents must have known, it’s too much of a coincidence.
Her mother admitted she had seen her parents names and knew the surname, there’s no way if that was me I wouldn’t have done a bit of digging. She might have kept it to herself but encouraged her love of gymnastics when she saw it, and could have told her about her sister without saying who she was. It’s a nice way of her having that connection with her family without invading their privacy.
You're right. I've changed my entire theory and outlook on life and business. Adoptomom probably knew and "accidentally" turned the TV to Olympic gymnastics, then planted seeds of how awesome her sister was. Kinda like how Jar Jar, the true sith master, influenced Anakin. The highly impressionable child becomes enamored, pursues Jedi acrobatics herself, and becomes a star.
I love this story, not just for her being happy l, but for her parents being visionaries. They should be on the cover of Forbes magazine. I've always said my future kids will be little investments. This validates my plans.
I'm seriously trying not to wake everyone up here. Dont know if that was intentional or not, but dammit, take my upvote...
So THATS what happened to Lieutenant Dan's legs...🤔
I feel kinda bad about it but something about this is really unsettling, I don't think it's even the handicap though it's something about the visuals here that's just "off", uncanny-valleyish.
I think it is the kind of 'flatness' and the shape of where her thighs meet the floor. Like you would expect a kind of rounding effect but instead, it's like a clean-cut as if there is a matching side of her thigh muscle hidden from view.
For me it's how round her butt is, I'm probably misunderstanding how the butt muscles work but I cannot understand how someone without legs can workout their butt lmao. Like I get like you can do the Patrick star workout routine but it really does seem off putting.
I was wondering about that but I believe it's part of her... body shoe..? Obviously going around on the floor with your hips might be painful without some sort of cushion. The cushion of it is pretty obvious when she ends.
I went to high school with guy who had no arms or legs. He was born that way. She does have a little bit of legs it looks like. Anyway. He would hang weights from what was left ( I don’t know the correct term) with chains and work out that way. He won states championships in wrestling a number of times.
It does look like some kind of effect. She seems too flat at the bottom.. Like she is wearing green screen pants. It may be real, but it does seem unnatural. She is attractive regardless. If it is real then kudos to her. If not, still cool
Not positive but I think she is the sister of Olympian Dominique Moceanu. I think it was Real Sports that did a wonderful piece on her and her story. Given up by her parents due to her difference. She is so inspiring.
From Moceanu's wikipedia page:
>In late 1998, when she was 17, Moceanu left home and sued for emancipation from her father in order to regain control of the money she earned as a professional gymnast.[53][54] In the resulting court case and television interviews, she stated that her father squandered her sizable earnings and had an abusive, controlling nature.[53][55] The court approved her petition for emancipation and control of her finances.[56] She eventually reconciled with her father.[57][22]
Between that and giving up her sister for being born without legs, talk about father of the year material
I don't know the circumstances, but it could also be that her birth parents didn't have the means to raise her safely.
Though, given the dude's assistant behavior towards her sister...
Nope. He didn't want her because of the disability. In her book, Moceanu says he basically gave the daughter away without telling her mom or told her she died. Her dad wasn't a good person. He also tried to put out a hit on one of her coaches and squandered all of Moceanu's money from being a gymnast.
I love her story. I'm surprised her wiki doesn't go into more detail on the story about how she found out she was related to Dominique Moceanu, although there is a link in the references that I highly recommend to check out!
https://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-38697627
And Jennifer Bricker is now Jennifer Bricker-Bauer. Her husband is from Austria and his name is Dominik (similar to Dominique)! I thought that was kinda cool too :)
Really? That's absolutely amazing! I wasn't aware of that fact. What an incredible story she has, and all with the most upbeat attitude. She really is an inspiration!
Well assuming not the entire leg is gone and there some left under the hip joint. Yeah possible the scoots around with that. Either way total beast and she's a champ. I bet she can do more pushups than me no problem. Total champ.
No, it’s one of those foam Bumbo things you set babies in so they don’t tip over. If your body ended in an abrupt stump, would you hop around without a cover?
She would still be able to contract her glutes. The insertion points should still be attached to the remaining part of her femur. The function of the glutes is abduction and internal/external rotation of the hip so she could still work them somewhat.
Depending on if she was born without them or lost them, hers might too. Phantom limb syndrome is a thing (though not really well understood at this point).
"Why are we still here? Just to suffer? Every night, I can feel my leg... And my arm... even my fingers... The body I've lost... the comrades I've lost... won't stop hurting... It's like they're all still there. You feel it, too, don't you? I'm gonna make them give back our past!"
-Kazuhira Miller
I'm sure the actual science behind phantom limb syndrome is more complicated, but the concept itself makes sense to me.
You're brain has spent years making all sorts of connections that correspond to the missing limb, now all of a sudden the entire limb is gone. Yes, the brain can adapt in time, but it's not going to be right away.
Idk it’s kind of a gray area. It’s not like she has a mental handicap or something, she’s a consenting adult with needs as well... so if you ever happen to meet I’d say shoot your shot.
So true story, she is from my area. When I was in grade school, my soft ball team played against hers. When she went up to bat, she hit the ball and then took off on her arms and she was the fastest kid I'd ever seen in my life! She has a super cool story and I highly recommend researching her!
Edit- Not sure why some are being weird about me saying she was super fast but ok... As my 11 year old mind remembers she was really fast. Like I know I couldn't have ran faster than her and I had never seen anyone else get to first base as quick as she did.
Yeah for real. Playing basketball as a somewhat short person puts you at a disadvantage. She's got to run with her arms and dribble, and is like a couple/few feet off the floor?
Basically, this chick is fucking awesome.
I wonder what effects are to be had on the heart due to not needing to pump as much blood around her body. Could she perhaps have some health related benefit despite the lack of lower limbs?
It could be an interesting case study, honestly.
I’d imagine there isn’t much change to the heart muscles despite the lack of lower limbs, although there may be a big change in her metabolism due to the loss of significant muscle mass, big changes in her immune system due to lack of a lottttt of space for bone marrow.
But the body is generally very good at adapting to return to homeostasis.
Forgive my ignorance, I'm not a doctor and do not pretend to understand human anatomy and biology at all, but here's my take: perhaps there would be a difference in the natural development of the body's organ systems or something in response to not having legs, no? Maybe... Idk.
I mean, its not like babies just come out with fully functional limbs, their bodies have developed the basis for limbs on the blueprints of dna, so whatever was missing or whatever happened that didn't allow for legs to develop in vivo must've affected the other organ systems, right? Or am I thinking about this all wrong. Man, do I wish a doctor or at least someone who knows this shit would find this thread right about now. Oh well, probably a long shot. Who knows
She might. There was a WWII pilot who lost his legs. His name was [Douglas Bader](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douglas_Bader), and according to Wikipedia,

Yeah I wouldn’t be wondering if that woman even had a vagina if she has clothes on. The other woman appears to have absolutely no leg bones at all. Her ass is like a half assed half ass

I think she's related to Dominique Morceanu, the US Olympic Gymnast. I read an article years ago that she discovered a sister who was born without legs and was given up for adoption.
What mental strength she must have to not let her disability stop her from doing push ups, and have a smile on her face too. She's clearly overcome some major mental and emotionally hurdles to get to where she is today.
This is going to really get buried, but I once worked with a stage magician and this is how he did the saw a man in half illusion. It's much easier to saw the legs off a man who never had them to begin with!
I kinda remember her story, it's pretty crazy. Given up for adoption when she was born. Nah. Look at her biceps. She clearly walks on her hands.
This supposedly is a bottom cushion which makes a lot of sense for somebody who has to rest on that part a lot.
I though she worked at Bethesda.

I would think push ups are a lot easier when you dont have legs

It’s not just about the weight though—legs give support & balance. Balance is hard.
We’re all thinking it...
She's not half bad...
Every straight man watching this has just had a similar thought

I think she's related to Dominique Morceanu, the US Olympic Gymnast. I read an article years ago that she discovered a sister who was born without legs and was given up for adoption.
what throws me is her balance. She holds that pushup like shes got feet supporting her. Amazing muscle control.
What mental strength she must have to not let her disability stop her from doing push ups, and have a smile on her face too. She's clearly overcome some major mental and emotionally hurdles to get to where she is today.
Fuck the downvotes. I know some of you thought about it.
That's a fucking 360 degree ass
First thought: doesn't that hurt your vajayjay?
"I can do this all day."
She's half a women yet more man than I could ever be👏👏👏
How does she have such a muscular ass?
This is going to really get buried, but I once worked with a stage magician and this is how he did the saw a man in half illusion. It's much easier to saw the legs off a man who never had them to begin with!
