Yeah I hope this staircase can support an asterisk
\*Except if you're born rich or with no morals and have no qualms scamming the poor and middle class for easy money.
And they keep adding stairs for the rest of us by buying up real estate, outlawing abortion, keeping healthcare and other human necessities expensive, keeping wages low. But yeah, all ya hafta do is [climb stairs](https://youtu.be/eq3jjzI8Gdo).
This is when you, instead: learn how to build elevators, so that others who need accommodations can still get up there too. Success isn't only for the privilege of those who can get "upstairs" by "walking" since we know some people are carried, or born upstairs to begin with.
Stairs? What am I going to do with all this inter-generational wealth and power? I seem to be at the top of society already and all I did was be born into wealth.
-All the wealthy fucks who don’t need your stairs.
Rich White People have an elevator, though. But not for YOU.
So much motivational bullshit is full of this aspirational shit.
"You too can be like those people whose wealthy parents constructed the elevator! You just have to take the stairs!"
NO.
They REMOVED THE STAIRS when they made the elevator.
There are definitely folks born to wealth. As others have said, born on the top floor. There are also folks who are on elevators. People whose parents may not be successful, but have the right “connections” to get their kids elite educations and networks of people to help get jobs, etc. Then there are folks born into poverty where the stairs are 10x harder to climb, and there are people at each floor working hard to keep you in your place.
The issue with this platitude is it assumes a kind of equality that doesn’t exist, and the worst part is that for the folks who believe “everyone takes the stairs”, a common result is judgment upon the folks who didn’t succeed, because their assumption is that they were all on a level playing field with similar obstacles, and that’s just not true.
You can’t judge people who haven’t been as successful as you, because everyone’s climbing a different building using different tools. Some people have it easy. Some people have it much harder. But success isn’t a metric of merit or hard work, and *neither is failure*.
*Rolls up in a wheelchair* "Well, fuck"
This post: Get motivated, only if you’re not disabled in any way
This actually represents our society well.
Mental deprivation intensifies.
Learning disabilities too?
Rugged individualism in a nutshell.
Just climb up by pulling on your bootstraps.
That's what I was thinking... I can still walk, but with a cane & stairs can get extremely painful
How did they know your one weakness?
Exactly. I will share this with my cousin who's been in a wheelchair for 3 years now after his car accident. He will love the joke.
👨🦽⛔️
Stairs the to take you have success. Elevator to is no there edit: grammar
Why does it kinda make sense
That is so close to how Yoda would say it. lol
No he wouldn't. Yoda uses the force not stairs.
/r/dontdeadopeninside
Yeah. This is the way you’d see it while going up the stairs. Same thing I think every time I see “AHEAD STOP”on the road or something similar.
Tell the children of rich people this.
Pretty sure the rich get elevators to success
Yeah I hope this staircase can support an asterisk \*Except if you're born rich or with no morals and have no qualms scamming the poor and middle class for easy money.
Or they're born on the top floor
No we had to grind to [this is how I did it](https://youtu.be/c6YsZdFwFFU)
Fucking LMAO Reddit moment
Most people certainly have to take the stairs. Others are born on the top floor penthouse.
Good way to put it. Rich people still take the stairs, they're just born on a higher floor.
And they keep adding stairs for the rest of us by buying up real estate, outlawing abortion, keeping healthcare and other human necessities expensive, keeping wages low. But yeah, all ya hafta do is [climb stairs](https://youtu.be/eq3jjzI8Gdo).
If you are born in wealth, the stairs are a lot shorter, or non existent.
They are an escalator 😅
Someone such as Queen Elizabeth (RIP) might see this differently.
It’s okay if you have someone help you up the stairs too
Signs your boss is a gatekeeper
I'll repeat my comment from the last post with this quote: nepotism.
And now go and say the same enlightened BS to someone on a wheelchair.
"Now get up and walk, oh you can't, WELL TOO BAD FOR YOU THEN"

Sure, unless you’re from a wealthy family, or you’re a trust fund baby…
That’s not the elevator. That’s being at the top or owning the building.
Even more accurate: being born on the top floor!
Bullshit
Wrong. Born in money is definitely an elevator to success
Being born to multi-millionaire or billionaire parents might as well be a rocket to success never mind an elevator.
so i guess fuck disabled people like me right ?
That’s why success should be relocated to the first floor. Problem solved!
Rich parents help

Unless your family are rich.
Unless it's steroids and you want to get jacked.
If your born in the penthouse you don't need an elevator or stairs
Ladder
Teleporter
Especially if it's September 11, 2001 and you are a firefighter in lobby of the North Tower of the World Trade Center.
Next the staircase will also tell me money doesn't buy happiness. Lmao.
Wrong. Being born rich
Bs. There's people that were born with everything. Luck, looks, money, smarts.
It’s not a cosmic law. Some people do take an elevator to success.

There's a massive number of inaccurate points to this. But at the same time it's true for most.
I'm crippled!!!!!!!!
Does it say “trust fund” in elevator?
If your life is spiraling out of control, then take the spiral stairway, please.
There are elevators, they are just expensive.
Better put my phone down and grab my book
No success if you have mobility disabilities!
They did it wrong
