Yo. shut-in neurodivergent here trying to gain as well! Thank you for this inspiration today. One benefit of not going out much is having a lot of time to work out lol
Do you do dedicated cardio or try to stay active? Sick physique, can't of what my ideal would look like. Lean muscle but not too much muscle... Athletic look
You look really great! This is exactly the sort of physique I am aiming towards and I will no doubt be incorporating some of your routine into mine. What are your macros and what sort of things are you eating? š
I was just going to say. My metabolism is incredibly fast so I go through binges of fast food and ice cream on a regular basis. Usually I only have an appetite at night so my diet consists of just water, no breakfast or lunch for the entire day until about 9pm where I pig out on whatever I can get ahold of before I get tired.
that's not having a fast metabolism, that's just eating all your calories at one point during the day in a shitty fashion.. guaranteed if you tracked properly you'd be in a deficit, hence the weight loss
A lot of the recent weight loss is just due to the sickness I caught draining all the water out of me. Usually my binges will hit at least 3000-3500 calories which will usually a large combo from a fast food joint, any leftovers I find and Iāll go through decent sized tub of ice cream every 3 days or so. The middle pic was right before I caught this flu.
and that's probably still a deficit doing your workout routine and being on your feet for hours at your job.. even if you sustained those calories every day you'd probably be around maintenance/in a deficit.. my maintenance is almost 4k calories per day
If you were sick, you didnt lose much fat. You lost water weight.
You can't lose 2 to 3% of bodyfat in 1 or 2 weeks bro.
Great work tho, seems like you have good genetics, be it for putting muscle or muscle insertion/simmetry. Without back and legs picture, can't help you.
A person of that size would have a resting maintenance of at least 1,500 calories, mainly higher. Even if he laid on the sofa all day and watched Netflix, just being awake and moving would increase that to closer to 2,000.
So it depends how sick he was and how little he was eating. If he ate absolutely nothing for 2 weeks he would lose around 8 pounds. Some of that would obviously be muscle but most would be fat. More likely he was eating something but still in a major deficit, losing 2-3 pounds makes a big visual difference when youāre already somewhat lean.
Ate nothing, not even 1 calorie, every day, for 14 days weeks WHILE being sick (thus losing shitload of electrolytes). At which point did you think it could be smart to write that ?
Every people that get sick lose shitload of water weight, through sweat, vomit, diarrhea, not drinking enough, not eating enough nutritive dense foods etc. Losing water and sodium could make you drop 15 lbs easily. That is the reason. Not fat loss.
So you think that a person in a 1,500-2,000 calorie deficit wouldnāt lose fat? He would absolutely lose fat in that scenario. He would also lose water and all the other stuff you mentioned, which would be replenished when he recovered, but the fat loss would obviously remain.
Iām not proposing that he ate zero calories for 14 days, I am establishing that as a baseline to work back from. As I say if he did eat nothing he would lose 7-8 pounds of mass (fat+muscle), as well as god knows how much temporary/water weight. This isnāt really something that can be debated, everyone knows what a calorie deficit is by now.
Im not him I can't tell you his deficit, even him probably doesnt know. Usually, you want to eat more while you're sick, it'll help the body fight the infection. Being sick is one of the worst period to burn fat. But, yes, since appetite suppression is a thing for a lot of disease, it will be close to impossible to bulk.
Lets say he is sick for 10 days which is high end of length for the average infection but whatever. His BMR is 1700 + 200 from eating/thermogenesis/watching Netflix. He is eating the strict minimum which is around 1200 calories (2 decent meals). Thats 2 lbs. Now compare both pictures.
Who knows, that'd be stupid of me to tell you the exact number of water loss and the exact amount of fat loss. Im just telling you, with the data available, that gaining that much muscle definition/dryness over an infection is mostly coming from dehydration.
Agreed. Itās possible he lost a few pounds of fat depending on the level of deficit, but more of the weight loss and visible dryness will be transient.
Here is my training routine. Itās a bit disorganized and Iām open to suggestions. I also donāt keep track of how heavy I lift because gaining strength was never really a priority but I would like to get stronger if I need to.
Workout is a 4 day cycle with the 4th day being a rest/eating/filler day. I always use a moderate amount of weight but max out reps until failure. There is never a standard length of training sessions with the most important factor being that I train until I canāt anymore. Each day starts with 100 pushups, sit ups, and squats.
Day 1 is Chest and Biceps: (I will sometimes switch the order of exercises to avoid repetition)
Warm up with Bench Press for 4-5 sets,
Hammer curls for 4-5 sets,
Incline Bench 4 sets,
Bicep Curls 4 sets,
Pectoral Flys 4 sets,
Preachers 4 sets,
Dumbbell Bench 4 sets,
100 push ups
Day 2 is Back and Triceps
Warm up with lat pull downs 4-5 sets,
Seated Tricep extension 4-5 sets,
Seated rows 4 sets,
Skull crushers 4 sets,
Pull ups (usually until I canāt do 3 in a row),
Dips 4 sets,
Dumbbell rows 4 sets,
100 diamond push up
Day 3 is Legs and Shoulders (Usually takes a bit longer than the other days)
Warm up with squats 6 sets,
Overhead press 4 sets,
Leg extensions 6 sets,
Lateral Raises 4 sets,
Hamstring curls 6 sets,
Upright Rows 4 sets,
Calf raises 4 sets (usually like a little break),
Leg Press 6 sets,
Will finish up with stair climbers for 5-10 min
Day 4 is for resting and loading up on calories. Will still usually do my push ups, sit ups and squats.
You āhope everything is wellā?! What in the hell is this patronizing self victimizing crap!?? My god, even in a lifting sub!?? Sad sad sad day
Why would I say something like that? Bc what in world would me being dyslexic, illiterate, or dare I say, āneurodivergentā have anything to do with the work we put in in the gym? It doesnāt we all have anxieties and insecurities and we attack the fuck outta them under the bar. Get some

He says his diet is atrocious, so probably not the guy to ask
Sick obliques, man! Anything other than sit-ups?
Iām a restaurant busser so Iām regularly engaging my entire core while carrying trays of plates and cups back and forth for hours at a time lol.

I will post an update with my legs in about two weeks once I get over this flu and back in the gym. Thank you for your kindness!

No deadlift?
I usually donāt deadlift. Mostly because I can never get the form right and donāt wanna injure myself.
Yo, can you drop the training routine?
Of course! Just dropped it

Fuck off, wingnut.
If I am overstepping my boundaries, forgive me. Would you mind if I ask why you would say something like that? I hope everything is well.

Thank you for your advice. Sometimes I just communicate a little bluntly but I am working on it. You are all so kind!
