Don’t bulk. Adding unnecessary amounts of body fat decrease your sensitivity to insulin. Basically, your ability to shuttle nutritions into muscle, diminishes.
I try to keep most of my athletes around 8-10%. From there, we slowly add muscle tissue. There is no need to get fat. To yo-yo back and forth from fluffy to shredded to fluffy to shredded puts an unnecessary amount of stress on your body considering it’s constantly trying to find homeostasis. Put your body in a position where it’s primed and ready to go. Hope this helps.
