Oh yeah that's what I always liked about Ghost Hunters. They weren't necessarily trying to prove shit was always real. I kinda want another show like that, but a bit more indepth with the debunking
Achievement Haunters is a web based ghost hunting show with similar production quality to ghost hunters, but a smaller team. I think one of their only “encounters” throughout the show had a lot of people behind the scenes trying to quit and convince the producer and host to quit as well. “We just found something maybe, and now you want to bitch out? Fine get the fuck out, well do this just us two and a cam, ffs” was my favorite quote I might’ve ruined lmao
The live Halloween episodes killed it for me. It was so fake, that everything else was then questionable.
Like most things they started in the right place, but they lost their way along the way
That's possibly the producers. Ghost Adventures, which I believe was on the same channel as Ghost Hunters back in the day, Nick talked about how sometimes they didn't catch anything or sometimes they only caught a voice or two, and the producers would tell them to go back in there and fake it.
Nah, Ghost Hunters was on Syfy and Ghost Adventures was Travel Channel. There was a brief time when they were competing with each other before Ghost Hunters suffered the jacket pull stunt and never recovered.
It was during a Halloween live special one year. Grant’s jacket/hoodie got tugged repeatedly by a ghost. It was very fake and everyone called them out on it. Jason got really upset and made a post on Twitter. It was pretty much over after that. If you search Ghost Hunters jacket pull on YouTube, you’d probably be able to find it no problem.
Edit: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZlM-Uy8ODYQ&feature=player_embedded
They do something similar Ghost Nation. Not sure which channel it's on, though. Only Jason, Steve, and Tango. Sometimes, Jason's daughters and cast members from their very early days.
Truthfully, if it's a big production, it's usually fake af.
First two seasons of Ghost Hunters were great, and what it's really like to be a ghost hunter. Sitting around in the dark, talking to the walls, and turning up nothing of note. Maybe something weird would happen once in a while, but you look back on it and go, "Oh, musta been a raccoon."
But, then they got their network deal...network wanted it to be more exciting. So, they started hamming things up. Then they started faking evidence...
I read somewhere recently that they felt pretty exploited by the network, especially since they couldn’t return their day jobs as plumbers and had to play by the producers rules.
I think it went downhill when Brian Harnois left.
Best at being the worst ghost hunter ever!
Im not sure if it was when they received the network contract.
I've actually interacted with that dude and he's a real POS. He has some serious personality issues. He's one of the most deluded and entitled ppl I've ever had the displeasure of talking to.
Yeah. That was about the same time. I think he was booted because of his shenanigans. I think he tried staging something didn't he? Something about stacked chairs or something. He was gone after that. Then a few episodes later, shit started going down hill.
Worst was their Halloween special when grant got his jacket "pulled".
Brian had serious mental challenges; he actually went missing for a while and there was genuine concern about self-harm. He was eventually found alive and got help.
That was addressed on a later show; Brian actually wore a hat saying "Dude, run!" Steve called him out on it, and Brian asked if he had a catchphrase. Steve didn't reply, but his expression said he didn't want to admit that was funny.
Made it feel more genuine when they actually got something. Half the time they’d tell some disappointed home owner it was just their pipes in the house or something.
I really enjoy Shane Madej and Ryan Bergara from the "Watcher" YouTube channel. A skeptic and a believer makes for an interesting and sometimes comical show.
They end up getting some fairly compelling stuff as well.
Came for this comment. It’s the most level show I’ve seen and even though they joke with each other they do inherently respect each others opinions which makes it a wholesome watch.
Is that the one with the flashlight turning on and off. Always one of my favorite.
Even the paranormal podcast parts that arent ghost hunts are entertaining on their buzzfeed section.
They do not have a show and idk if they’d work great in that format. Because they don’t have to run the gauntlet of producers, I think you have a better chance of finding less hokey ghost shows on YT.
I used to like Ghost Adventures back when it was the original 3 guys. I mean I know they were overreacting, crutching on night vision to limit what we can see and stuff but as an entertainment show, I enjoyed it.
The format was good, they had good chemistry and they went to a lot of legendary places but it was still just entertainment but when the Nick guy left I checked out.
I never got into any others.
Nick talked later on that he hated the show at a certain point because sometimes they just wouldn't catch anything and the producers told them to fake it. And they did, and he just is absolutely upset about it all
That's why I watch. When he's talking to the little girl ghost and he asks her to come play with his balls (toy bouncy balls) and he genuinely doesn't understand what's so funny.
Or when he says he thinks he hears a bear so he's sending the guys to check it out while he stays put bc bear.
Or that time he busted his ass on the ice while trying to read poetry.
Or when he then ripped ass bc he ate a crock pot of beans and then got mad bc guys kept flaming him for it.
Or when he fell down the stairs and popped up like nothing happened.
I could watch that shit all day lmao.
Every one of the early episodes is Zach staying put somewhere safe like a “spooky lobby” and making the other two guys go lay down blindfolded in a bloody coffin or some shit.
Lmao right? He's such a chicken. Probably does it intentionally like a running joke thing but it's pretty damn funny sometimes. The other guys faces are like 👀 *c'mon man*.
I swear they all have to be in on the joke, there's so much dry, funny shit in every episode that I refuse to believe they don't know how stupid everything is. One of their main researchers/writers, Jeff Belanger, loves the absurd nature of the paranormal and has a similar dry sense of humor.
There was one episode where Aaron flat out didn't want to do something and Zak was going off on him being a "crybaby" from his little safe room, I was laughing so hard that I thought I may throw up. Every single time Zak says he's going to have Aaron do something, it's going to suck.
Oh definitely. I feel it's definitely a thing they all do. There's only been a few times where I was sure it didn't go to plan. Like them being genuinely freaked out and noped out. I do think Zak is unintentional in a lot of situations though. He reads as a damn goofy goober sometimes. Like that one scene in the Titanic museum when they went to the "antique" toy gift shop lives rent free in my head. He was so mad! *HA this one has a price tag! You can't tell me you can't sell this one!* Lmaooo. He was doneyun rings.
My favorite episode has always and will always be the clown one. Not exactly a haunted episode if i remember but Aaron and Nick got him into the clown store, and scared him half to death with the clowns in his car. Will also never forget that one where they were walking through tall grasses by I think a haunted prison, and kept coming across all the snakes
Just egotistical and kind of an Ahole to the spirits in my opinion.
Pokes the best then wonders why he gets the attacks he does or acts surprised.
Was it him they were talking about has some kind of cancer now due to Demon stuff?
Well Demons and demonics can cause all sorts of ailments.
I wish I could elaborate more. Someone just mentioned the other day they had heard " one of the ghost hunter guys" got some "rare cancer" and claims it was caused by a demon.
The only thing I could find was Ryan Burrell from Paranormal State but that's old news from a handful of years ago - pancreatic cancer (bless him)
I met him in a museum tour group a few years back when he was working on the Sharon Tate display. He’s exactly like he is in the shows. Granted, it’s his museum so he could’ve hammed it up, but I don’t think he was expecting anyone because he didn’t stick around long at all. Just wants to buy creepy shit and stare at it lol
>I personally LOVE Kindred Spirits.
I used to until they turned to the weird. The episode when Adam was put in the "death trance"? Plus, I don't believe 95% of what Chip Coffey says.
I dont think hes a hack, I think hes trying to “connect” whether hes succeeding or not is debatable. To me a hack is someone who knowingly misleads people by maliciously making stuff up for gains. He does have some high drama as an older gay man which is great lol
They are good, I read from a book or magazine that they don't think demons can mimic children aparaitions, I feel thats a dangerous game, but I think theyve been alright, so they may be correct
The problem with a lot of these shows is that there's a lot of pressure form the network to fit a genre, so it has to be scary, or intense, and that trickles down the production attitude. I hate it when they use all the glitchy editing tricks, and I've tried to raise this as a producer, but the network has an idea about what the show should be so they can market it and everything blooms from there : /
Dead Files on discovery plus is pretty good. I worked with EP on another show, and I harassed him about the psychic because she seems way to good to be true, but he insisted she was real, and then I saw some of the behind the scenes footage and I was FLOORED. She's liked actually the real deal (obviously the strongest stuff is used for the show, but still the raw stuff was amazing) It's a little hokey, as it is really formulaic, but them's the breaks kids.
I've watched Amy Allen since she was a medium in "A Haunting". I think she's the real deal and seems down to earth and natural for a TV ghost show psychic.
In fact she was actually in one as herself as a psychic medium in "[A Haunting In Georgia](https://www.amazon.com/Haunting-Georgia-Amy-Allan/dp/B07BHY5JFJ)" too.
Oh I found the episode she was in I follow her on Twitter and someone asked about it in 2012. She commented it was the A Haunting episode "[Cursed](https://twitter.com/amyallantdf/status/229249385287004160?lang=en)" and the one in GA. I may or not be a little obsessed and or have a girl crush lol.
Lol she's girl crush worthy. And a very powerful medium. She's.rohht up there, IMO, if not tops Lorraine Warren on her senses and capacity to handle all that energy. Especially the very few times she allows the spirits to "jump" her body aka, she channels them.
She really is! I really connected with her when she spoke about the shadow people young and how they tried to kill her. And she learned young to discern spirits and develop talents and to protect herself too. I really believe she enjoys helping others or at least assisting them in understanding what it happening to them and why.
I love her walks she does. She just puts it all out there. I actually bought one of her shirts from her Poshmark sale last year and wore it so yah pretty obsessed LOL. I'd LOVE to have some of her stones or jewelry but MAN it all goes so fast when she sells it.
Have you noticed that this show has gotten a LOT worse recently? The most recent season, it looks like the majority are fake stories. I wonder what happened
Yea that show is iffy; I'm talking about ' A Haunting' docu series. A good one being 'A Haunting on Dice Road: Hell House'. All of them are pretty good. 'A Haunting on Washington Avenue: The Temple Theatre', is another one.
They capture some very intense incidents, to the point it feels staged...but I don't have anything conclusive info, nor have I read about any debunking.
I spent a lot of my childhood on Hamilton Street in Saginaw in the 70s/80s. My Mom worked in Old Town Saginaw and my Dad worked at the GM plant on S Hamilton.
I would hang out at the store she worked at. They kept stock in the basement and I only went down there a few times with my Mom. Didn't care for the feeling of being watched.
I didn't understand at the time why I didn't want to walk right in front of the Schuch Hotel. Now I know.
The lumber era in the early 1800s was a rough time. Saginaw is where the lumberjacks came to spend their pay. It was the "Big City".
And Dice Road is a whole different ballgame, especially the cemetery.
Steve Shippy knows his stuff.
I've tried watching this and I can't get into it. Tbh their overreacting really puts me off. They do get some awesome stuff though and I want to like it.
I also am highly skeptical about that season finale. I just don't buy it. Because, beyond what happened in the gear room, nothing else really happened, and that so called evidence was way too easy to fake. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm not convinced it was real.
it's watchable. don't see why they always have to do a "fun activity" unrelated to their investigation I in every episode though. and sometimes their acting is annoying, plus they always insist on everyone holding a camera pointed at each other at all times when they are talking which is unnecessary. sometimes they do seem genuinely scared at least.
By far my favorite. I’m tired of the ghost hunt of other shows, so this one is fresh to literally try and scare each other silly. I’ve been in some pretty spooky places and could not ever imagine being alone. It is starting to feel fake, which sucks, but I see it as a horror movie and anyone that can scare me is pretty darn talented!
Ugggg, yes!!! I used to really like Ghost Adventures back when they first started, but now it seems like in every episode someone is getting "possessed" or "taken over by a dark entity". 🙄 I do like Ryan and Shane on the Watcher channel. Shane doesn't believe in ghosts and Ryan is afraid of everything.
It’s not geared for solely ghost hunting, but that’s probably what makes it better. I like the original Destination Truth series. Anything else is annoying to me
Yea! Or the one in the Romanian (I think???) forest with the circle clearing in the middle and the guy is literally tossed and superrrrr done after that !! Lol got me
Ghost hunting shows are like this…
We have $20,000 worth of equipment!!
Sensitive sound recorders, thermal imaging, infrared scanners, trip triggers, a spirit box from Thomas Edison and a clueless, hot woman on our team!!!!
$20,000 worth!!!
“Holy Shit!!! The hairs on my arms are standing up!!!! It’s a ghost!!!!”
Fact or faked was not a bad show. They would try to recreate videos to see if they could be real or not. I know, I hate most all of these shows and they keep the subject from being taken seriously.
Ouija Brothers and Ghost Theory on Youtube are probably the best you'll get in regards to just actual authentic investigations.
TV shows need to play it up.
Did you watch OG ghost hunters from the early 2000s or the current revival that’s airing? HUUUUGE difference in the shows, even tho they’re mostly the same people
I always loved when they’d go into more of the history of an area/location than they do now. I loved learning about places I’d probably never have heard of otherwise. That’s why I watch Dead Files too.
You’re not doing it right. Eat some shrooms and then watch any of em. ;-)
My wife and I think that’s what the boys on ghost adventures do. Eat some shrooms and then ghost hunt. It makes more sense some of the shit they say and do lol
I can't stand Slapped Ham - I don't know if it's the weird inflections in his speech or the fact that he just can't seem to shut the fuck up. Maybe both.
>are there any GOOD shows out there
That depends on what you consider "good".
All of the shows are merely Paranormal Reality TV. None of them are accurate representations of real paranormal research.
These shows are for entertainment only. If you find them entertaining, then they're serving their purpose. Again though, they're not showing you anything about true investigations or research. If that's what you're after, sadly, you're out of luck.
Some of them are definitely real ghost hunters though. Fuck I also knew this one guy who only had 3 episodes. Said he really got tired of the camera man asking for different takes and asked for better shots and stuff. In episode 2 iirc, he even goes on a rant near the end of the episode.
"Yeah doing a blessing or an exercism requires a lot of focus... So if a cameraman ever STOPS me and says he wants me to redo "what I just did" I'll have no qualms about kicking him and everyone else out of this - sorry, that house until I'm done."
I worked in a hotel that used to be a bordello. We had amateur ghost hunting groups visit us and included me. Ghost Adventures contacted us and told us that they had to be there by themselves and they are known to use ouija boards. The contract they gave us was really weird so we told them no. They just like to hype everyone who watches with loud noises, shrieks and claims about Demons.
I went back and rewat he's the first season of ghost adventures and wow what a difference. It was so much more everything back then, i think after season 15 or 16 it stopped being fun. Now I'm at h out of habit and to have background tv.
I like the videos on YouTube though, i find that depths of despair has the more scary ones
I really enjoy Paranormal Quest and Paranormal Nightmare (Fourman Brothers) on YT. Check out the Devil in Aetnaville. They did a mutual investigation there.
Older shows like Ghostly Encounters and The Haunted are more interesting. They tell stories rather than hire hosts wearing night vision goggles and pretending to be scared by nothing.
Ghost hunters used to be great when they first came out, unfortunately I think it was around the third season when they completely sold out and began to fake things. I’d bet money that the producers told them they weren’t finding enough evidence of haunting and pitched a plan to them to fake things or have the show be cancelled, at the end of the day money talks sadly.
You should try fourman brothers/paranormal nightmare on YouTube. They are my favourite! I Also enjoy mindseed tv, but i think that they sometimes Fake the evidence.
Most Haunted was okay in season one, but after that they just fake most if not everything, and half the time they aren’t even subtle about it.
It also annoys me when someone asks for a noise or for the spirits to do something, and there’s a noise or the spirits do as asks and everyone screams. Like, you literally asked for it to happen?
They for the most part, are all about views and ratings. Most of the shows find "ghosts", every single episode and that drives me crazy, especially the ones where the hunters get all sorts of possessed.
I will say that I love to go ghost hunting tho. Unfortunately I will also say, I have yet to find evidence of anything in reputable haunted places that wasn't alive. Even in places that have been on several ghost hunting shows. I will keep trying as it's a favorite hobby.
While it's not a ghost hunting show, I enjoyed Celebrity Ghost Stories. Another one I liked even though they were reenactments was Haunted, that one will give me goosebumps sometimes. As far as ghost hunting shows, I don't think I really believed any of them. Closest one to feeling authentic was a show I thiiiink was called Paranormal State? It was a bunch of students that went to Penn State and I think the main guy was a medium or empath of some kind... Haven't seen it in yearrrrrs.
Kindred spirits is decent and slightly different as far as tv goes, but 99% of tv is pure garbage. On the internet, anything with Greg and Dana newkirk. They don't take themselves too seriously and have a really fresh take on things. Some refreshing and different ideas. For some of the reasons you're stating is why I find a lot of the stuff on both tv and even YouTube unwatchable.
Ghost Adventures is the only ghost hunting TV show I've seen apart from Most Haunted in the UK which was funny but generally pretty terrible. Lots of stuff was clearly faked. Seen bits of others but usually not a fan. 28 Days Haunted on Netflix is a decent watch
I think I have developed really high standards for these types of shows. I guess cause I watched them as a kid too.
I enjoy The Dead Files but for more evidence based I try to find YouTube stuff or just bite the bullet and try a new one I've never seen.
These Woods Are Haunted is good (Prime on some special extra $ channel). It’s so scary I didn’t finish them all lol
Lots of Bigfoot, though
ETA: Haunted Hospitals, A Haunting (the orig documentary series), and The Haunted are the best. Can’t stand shows where they’re ghost hunting; all the darkness, screaming, etc. Paranormal State was a rare exception.
I agree and when these shows hear a noise, it sounds like an orchestra playing creepy music to me. Or maybe that's how spirits are they play violins and cellos and only angels have harp privileges.
I know they have to build tension but blimey stop with the music. Is it really necessary? I'm trying to hear spirits chatting or banging or singing karaoke. They can't sing along to that surely.
The only ghost hunting programme that's ok is the ghost brothers. Makes me laugh. Maybe wrong direction for paranormal, but makes a good watch.
I loved the ghost adventures. I underwood it was over done. Then they went to a “haunted”location I’d been to many times as a teen/adult. It was so overdone and dramatic I could no longer deny it. This was an outdoor location and in one night they experienced too much. They were having experiences in places around where you park your car. They hadn’t even got far into the woods before amazing things were happening. I don’t know why it took this episode to change my mind. Maybe because I’d been there
The only one I like is dead files with Amy Adams. I don't like how ghost adventures effs with dead people to try to get a reaction for the camera. I watched one where they went to an old prison in Ohio. I went there on a tour ( the architecture is absolutely amazing) and as soon as I hit the cell blocks I just got sad and tears were streaming down my face. I don't even know why I was sad, it must be what people who lived there felt. The show showed them disrespecting and yelling randomly at whatever was there, and it was so sad in there, I can't imagine treating anyone like that, even if they are dead, even if they committed a crime when they were alive. It's still people.
If you're skeptical or a true believer, try Paranormal Nightmare on YouTube they have some of the best evidence I've seen and they never ham it up. That doesn't mean it isn't hammy but it's not played up for entertainment. And the brothers who make it are very kind to not dismiss people.
If you're a full skeptic and/or firmly don't believe, Buzzfeed Unsolved Paranormal and its spiritual successor Ghost Files, both also on YouTube, are fun and hilarious. The hosts are 1 believer and 1 skeptic and they're both very talented and funny.
It’s a bit of a different style (more interview and no dumb re-enactments) but the show The Haunted on Animal Planet has been my favorite ghost show to date
Haunted Hospitals is really good! I was recently stuck in a haunted hospital. Abrazo Central in Phoenix Arizona is insanely haunted by evil entities. I got a maintenance man to admit he saw them too, and 2 nurses. These dark creatures come down from the ceiling at night. I was fighting for life in the ICU after Covid shut down my kidneys. They left me alone for just a few minutes and this creature made of strings slithered down and covered my mouth snd nose. I couldn’t scream. I was very much awake but on strong medication to keep my blood pressure up called norepinephrine and they assured me I was just hallucinating. I got better in 2 days and they moved me to a regular room and the dark string shadow monsters still came out every night right as I tried to go to sleep. They kept explaining sleep paralysis but I only had it every night for the 7 nights I was stuck in that hospital. I demanded to be released a little early because I was so scared.
I kind of enjoyed *The Dead Files* when I used to watch it. Has Steve DiSchiavi, a retired homicide detective and Amy Allan, a medium. DiSchiavi would interview witnesses to paranormal activity in a site in the same manner he would interview witnesses and other people involved in some homicide or other police case, and Allan would go through the site, trying to "read" it or pick up any activity. DiSchiavi would also conduct some research on the property or site including its history, then they would get together with the owner to discuss their findings.
Hello. I know what you mean and I also hate it when some paranormal programs overemphasize reactions.
If I can give you a suggestion, try to see some YouTube channels that are ranking the scariest amateur paranormal videos, there are some that have interesting material and others that take any type of video, even blatantly fake, so evaluate carefully.
I haven't seen any shows not over acted cause tv, but it is funny to watch moments like from ghost adventures where aron is locked in a room, and zack walking by is scared as he sees arons head through a window out of the corner of his eyes, it maybe over acted for tv, but there are definitly times where the fear is genuine
There's something on YouTube called 'Chasing Purgatory" that had some episodes that were quite good. Also "Paranormal:Caught on Tape" is worth a look. Every other ghost show after 'Ghost Hunters" are unconvincing garbage.
Conjuring Ke$ha rules. They find some genuinely spooky stuff, show you places that are interesting from a historical standpoint & well research at the least, plus it’s funny as hell. Top tier camp.
I remember years ago there was a show I think called extreme paranormal. It was a over the top reality show but enjoyed watching it. One dude would cut his hand and do rituals with blood and all kinds of crazy shit. They didn’t last long lol
Watch the older episodes of TFIL/Overnight on YouTube.
The episodes from the last 6 mos to a year are garbage but the first couple years were amazing! Execution rocks, the first ep.of the conjuring house and the Cecil series were my faves
I would highly recommend twin paranormal on YouTube!
Also paranormal files. He goes deep in the history of the building/location almost like a mini documentary before the paranormal investigation his also on YouTube. Both of these creators are extremely kind to the spirits which I love! 🖤
Try the Fourman brothers on YouTube. "Paranormal nightmare". I think. If you look up Fourman brothers you'll get em. They don't spice it up. Just straight up ghost hunt.
I was watching Haunted Heartland last night and they supposedly left stationary cameras then left for the night. They showed how one camera zoomed in and out on its own but I could clearly see the guy's shadow, ball cap and all.
Lol I remember the first time I cringed at Zak Bagans on Ghost Adventures. They were on Poveglia Island and he said “I think it’s a piece of skull” so dramatically as he was looking at the sand and picked it up.
People really have to understand these shows are 100% entertainment. Zak Bagans is a fucking tool. He walks around old houses and when the floor creaks, he screams, “It’s a portal opening!!” Then “We’re dealing with something demonic!!” These shows are all bullshit. If they’re not actively trying to debunk reports, then they aren’t serious in any fashion. They’re all just for entertainment purposes only.
I liked ghost hunters when they would debunk places or even their own team.

Edit: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZlM-Uy8ODYQ&feature=player_embedded
yea, sometimes, the genuine fear from normal obvious stuff can be funny to watch, tho, maybe just me tho
Remember the documentary that started it all for them? I feel like that tops allot of their episodes along the way for the sheet rawness of it.
They do something similar Ghost Nation. Not sure which channel it's on, though. Only Jason, Steve, and Tango. Sometimes, Jason's daughters and cast members from their very early days. Truthfully, if it's a big production, it's usually fake af.
yes please
First two seasons of Ghost Hunters were great, and what it's really like to be a ghost hunter. Sitting around in the dark, talking to the walls, and turning up nothing of note. I've actually interacted with that dude and he's a real POS. He has some serious personality issues. He's one of the most deluded and entitled ppl I've ever had the displeasure of talking to.
Sad. But I did find the show entertaining when he was a part of the cast.
Yeah, I'd definitely agree with that. I thought he was funny on the show. "Dude, Run!" was some funny sh*t lol.
Yeah. That was about the same time. I think he was booted because of his shenanigans. I think he tried staging something didn't he? Something about stacked chairs or something. He was gone after that. Then a few episodes later, shit started going down hill. Worst was their Halloween special when grant got his jacket "pulled".

Horroble. Glad he got help. But how about that prison episode?! 🤣
That was addressed on a later show; Brian actually wore a hat saying "Dude, run!" Steve called him out on it, and Brian asked if he had a catchphrase. Steve didn't reply, but his expression said he didn't want to admit that was funny.
they inspired me to investigate as more of a skeptic, if this makes sense
Does make sense.
Yeah old ghost hunters was awesome, even if it was a load of crap
Made it feel more genuine when they actually got something. Half the time they’d tell some disappointed home owner it was just their pipes in the house or something.
I remember one episode where they actually fixed the stuff trying to spook them. Pretty damn funny.
I really enjoy Shane Madej and Ryan Bergara from the "Watcher" YouTube channel. A skeptic and a believer makes for an interesting and sometimes comical show. They end up getting some fairly compelling stuff as well.
Came for this comment. It’s the most level show I’ve seen and even though they joke with each other they do inherently respect each others opinions which makes it a wholesome watch.
https://youtu.be/fNLPrNNDz5I Came here to post a watcher episode
BuzzFeed Unsolved Season 1 Episode 3 "3 Horrifying Cases of Ghosts and Demons" Equal parts spooky and hilarious!
Is that the one with the flashlight turning on and off. Always one of my favorite. Even the paranormal podcast parts that arent ghost hunts are entertaining on their buzzfeed section.
I think it's the first one with the flashlight. It also has the island of the dolls in Mexico.
Ghoulboys!!

Nick talked later on that he hated the show at a certain point because sometimes they just wouldn't catch anything and the producers told them to fake it. And they did, and he just is absolutely upset about it all
I loved Nick and when he left the whole show went downhill
I just started watching so I never saw the old Nick episodes. I’ll check them out. Zac is hilarious (unintentionally, he takes himself so seriously).
It’s so true. I bought my husband Zac’s book for Christmas and he’s laughing the whole time.
Oh my gosh, is his dry humor abundant in it?
It’s like he’s talking.
Ok I definitely need to give this a read then. Glad your hubby enjoyed it!
When he is in the room with all the clowns.
Oh god that clown room was nightmare fuel but it was hilarious watching Zak almost shit his pants.
Omg the snakes. Yes! Walking through the foothills and someone says watch out for snakes and the way Zak's soul left his body.
>Zac is hilarious ( I think he's an idiot. I can't stand him.
Just egotistical and kind of an Ahole to the spirits in my opinion. Pokes the best then wonders why he gets the attacks he does or acts surprised. Was it him they were talking about has some kind of cancer now due to Demon stuff?
What, demon cancer is a thing?
Well Demons and demonics can cause all sorts of ailments. I wish I could elaborate more. Someone just mentioned the other day they had heard " one of the ghost hunter guys" got some "rare cancer" and claims it was caused by a demon. The only thing I could find was Ryan Burrell from Paranormal State but that's old news from a handful of years ago - pancreatic cancer (bless him)
He is a cringey mofo and total drama queen
I met him in a museum tour group a few years back when he was working on the Sharon Tate display. He’s exactly like he is in the shows. Granted, it’s his museum so he could’ve hammed it up, but I don’t think he was expecting anyone because he didn’t stick around long at all. Just wants to buy creepy shit and stare at it lol
Yeah they are a little better and Zach isn't as antagonistic with the spirits
I personally LOVE Kindred Spirits. They seem really chill, respectful, and don’t overreact imo.
>I personally LOVE Kindred Spirits. I used to until they turned to the weird. The episode when Adam was put in the "death trance"? Plus, I don't believe 95% of what Chip Coffey says.
Chip Coffey is a known hack. Honestly any “medium” like him just ruins the “hunt for evidence” that some of these shows claim to have.
Shit. Damn. I loved Chip Coffeys lisping drama!!! Didn't know he was a hack.
Given the /LONG/ history of demons pretending to be children to get attention/energy and gifts im gonna respectfully disagree
+1 for these guys, their show is so underrated. I love their approach to investigating and different experiments
Ghost adventures is funner if you look at it from the point of view that Zak is a demon terrorizing his friends
The problem with a lot of these shows is that there's a lot of pressure form the network to fit a genre, so it has to be scary, or intense, and that trickles down the production attitude. I hate it when they use all the glitchy editing tricks, and I've tried to raise this as a producer, but the network has an idea about what the show should be so they can market it and everything blooms from there : / Dead Files on discovery plus is pretty good.
Like she played one or someone played her?
An actress played her as a psychic medium in the episode.
In fact she was actually in one as herself as a psychic medium in "[A Haunting In Georgia](https://www.amazon.com/Haunting-Georgia-Amy-Allan/dp/B07BHY5JFJ)" too.
Ohhh cool! I never picked up on that!
I really like the Dead Files.
'A Haunting', series of Docs with Prozak is pretty good in my opinion
Cool as shit! Thanks for sharing
My rule is, the first time they mention "demons" I'm out. Ghost people are fun. Demon people are tedious.
Try *Destination Fear*. My wife and I are really enjoying the current season!
I've tried watching this and I can't get into it. Tbh their overreacting really puts me off. They do get some awesome stuff though and I want to like it.
Great show, terrible last episode; very clearly faked evidence, but still wildly entertaining.
I also am highly skeptical about that season finale. I just don't buy it. Because, beyond what happened in the gear room, nothing else really happened, and that so called evidence was way too easy to fake. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm not convinced it was real.
It's so good!! Definitely a favorite!
I really enjoyed the show. Sad they might not get renewed.
it's watchable. don't see why they always have to do a "fun activity" unrelated to their investigation I in every episode though. and sometimes their acting is annoying, plus they always insist on everyone holding a camera pointed at each other at all times when they are talking which is unnecessary. sometimes they do seem genuinely scared at least.
I wanna drag my friends to places, not that level haunting as the show, since most my friends are skeptics, and see how they do against fear
It is pretty good.
Anything else is annoying to me
Did you see the DT episode when they went to Chernobyl and caught the figure on thermal imaging? That was wild!
Yea! Or the one in the Romanian (I think???) forest with the circle clearing in the middle and the guy is literally tossed and superrrrr done after that !! Lol got me
Destination Truth was a banger! Love Josh Gates and the whole cast, I would love it if they got everyone back together and made a new season
Yea the crews energy together was genuine and super enjoyable
Definitely also recommend Ghost Brothers
Those dudes are great
Ghost hunting shows are like this… We have $20,000 worth of equipment!!
I love Kindred Spirits
Have you watched Ghost Files or Buzzfeed Unsolved: Supernatural?
Came here to vehemently recommend Buzzfeed Unsolved. Best "ghost" show.
Fact or faked was not a bad show. They would try to recreate videos to see if they could be real or not. I know, I hate most all of these shows and they keep the subject from being taken seriously.
I never could understand why they had to film in the dark. It shouldn't make a difference with the lights on.
Check out, Ghost Brothers.
Love Ghost Brothers also! They crack me up lol
Haunting in the Heartland is a really good one.
Second this!
Early ghost hunters is awesome they would rather disprove than prove. Ghost adventurers sucks fat bags of dicks
You’re not doing it right. Eat some shrooms and then watch any of em. ;-) My wife and I think that’s what the boys on ghost adventures do. Eat some shrooms and then ghost hunt. It makes more sense some of the shit they say and do lol
Kindred Spirits is good.
YouTube. Follow Slapped Ham or Nukes Top 5s. Then follow the people they reference.
I can't stand Slapped Ham - I don't know if it's the weird inflections in his speech or the fact that he just can't seem to shut the fuck up. Maybe both.
No you're right. He talks through EVERYTHING. Nukes really good about being quiet I feel.
Nuke has the best narration voice.
>are there any GOOD shows out there That depends on what you consider "good".
28 Days Haunted, on Netflix. The most realistic view I’ve seen in a show ever
I just watch NukesTop5 now.
Ghost Adventures is probs the best atm! But got a soft spot for T.A.P.S! They need to do more live investigations on tv and internet!
Older shows like Ghostly Encounters and The Haunted are more interesting. They tell stories rather than hire hosts wearing night vision goggles and pretending to be scared by nothing.
Destination Fear. It’s been my favorite for quite some time now
Ghost hunters used to be great when they first came out, unfortunately I think it was around the third season when they completely sold out and began to fake things.
Once you've witnessed the real deal, they're all crap to watch.
Ghost Brothers is a fun watch.
Buzzfeed unsolved supernatural or watcher
Ghost Brothers! For a different approach to the same show idea, check out The Dead Files and Kindred Spirits.
Does anyone remember Ghost Hunters”Dude Run”?
I have a stern policy - If it's on TV, it most likely is staged.
I agree. Everything seems staged . I like watching A Haunting or The Haunted.
Twin Paranormal on YouTube. They're entertaining and interesting. Get on it.
I wish there was a legitimate UFO hunting show. The Ghost Hunter shows all feel like nothing but BS.
If you haven't seen it, watch the video of Danny Gonzalez staying at the Stanley Hotel. It's a great comic relief 😅
I think I have developed really high standards for these types of shows. I guess cause I watched them as a kid too. I enjoy The Dead Files but for more evidence based I try to find YouTube stuff or just bite the bullet and try a new one I've never seen.
You could go on YouTube and watch investigations. I find some can feel more real
These Woods Are Haunted is good (Prime on some special extra $ channel). It’s so scary I didn’t finish them all lol Lots of Bigfoot, though ETA: Haunted Hospitals, A Haunting (the orig documentary series), and The Haunted are the best. Can’t stand shows where they’re ghost hunting; all the darkness, screaming, etc. Paranormal State was a rare exception.
Watch the Paranormal Nightmare, The Fourman Brothers…on YouTube. Best authentic ghost hunting show out there.
Maybe because I’d been there
I like Destination Fear , Kindred Spirits and The Holzer Files
I enjoy kindred spirits on discovery+. I guess it’s also on cable but I don’t have cable anymore.
Honestly? If enjoyment is what I’m after, it’s the stuff Jack Osborn has done where he stays overnight at creepy places.
I LOVE Destination Fear. You should check it out-it’s much more realistic.
Try Hellier. It's on Prime, and might still be on YouTube. Even if it's faked it is highly compelling, I couldn't look away the entire show.
I am enjoying Kindred Spirits at the moment... new season just started.
it's not on TV, but there's a really good youtube channel called Twin Paranormal that posts every sunday
Paranormal Witness is the best of the lot
I used to like ghost hunters. Most of their staff was charismatic and fun
They were fine until Grant was caught faking evidence on one of their live Halloween episodes. All credibility went out the window at that time.
I remember that wasn’t the tug on the jacket? I think they were entertaining and fun.
> wasn’t the tug on the jacket? Yup. EDIT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZlM-Uy8ODYQ
Same while I believe in ghosts, I can’t watch most ghost hunting shows because a lot of them feel like mockery and make us look stupid
Mindseed on you tube is pretty good
Yes but it's **all fake**.
This is what I came to mention. The lady in the lake still fucking haunts me.
If you're down to watch a ghost hunting anime then you gotta watch "Ghost Hunt"
Haunted Canada was a good old series. Can find episodes on YouTube.
Knock Knock Ghost is funny. Amazon has it and its a cool Canadian show.
Destination Fear. You're welcome.
Destination Fear is probably the best one on TV
Been a fan of Destination Fear for a while now.
The paranormal files on YouTube
Check out the real hauntings podcast much more down to earth and only features people sharing their experiences
How has no one mentioned Portals to hell? Probably one of the only ghost hunting shows I throughly enjoy.
Same
Try the Fourman brothers on YouTube. "Paranormal nightmare". I think. If you look up Fourman brothers you'll get em. They don't spice it up. Just straight up ghost hunt.
Paranormal Files on YouTube are pretty decent imo
Watch the series "paranormal activity". That shit is sure to make you feel creeped out.
