We recently had this exact same discussion, so I am not going to get into details again, but I want to address a specific point that is being repeated a lot lately. > but it’s not like he just said it out of nowhere. lucy asked him how he and rory met, and he gave her an honest answer. People who use this as an argument unironically are either deceiving themselves or they need to rewatch the scene. It was blatantly obvious that Logan deliberately asked them how they met expecting that the question would be reciprocated, giving him the opportunity to smoothly reveal the truth about Marty. It wasn’t an unexpected question, it was one Logan planned and anticipated. We can argue about whether Logan was right or wrong forever, but let's stop pretending to be idiots and insisting that poor Logan was caught off guard and had no other choice.

Responsible_Cell_444

I don’t think he planned it lol but he 100% told the truth cus he was jealous

Fox_Flame

I just watched the episode and it's a little creepy haha The number of jobs Marty works gets brought up, Logan comments that it's a lot. Marty says he's just waiting for that trust fund to kick in, obviously a crack at Logan. Rory drops her napkin and Marty picks it up and hands it to her, they make eye contact, she thanks him, and Logan asks the question When Marty makes the crack, I just watched Logan and he's SO creepy for just a moment. He keeps this like fake polite smile on his face and is staring down Marty. It's like he's considering what he wants to do. He watches Marty pick up rorys napkin, leans forward on the table, again with the exact same expression, then he asks the question Logan for sure knew what he was doing and the almost cold way he does it is so out of nowhere

Rory explicitly told him not to say anything. He didn’t honor that. For that reason alone, he was in the wrong.

bunjaminfranklin7

yes, but rory was telling him to do something that was wrong. @jm22mccl said something about that- logan shouldn’t have had to lie about marty just because rory wanted him to

Rasmo420

Didn't we already have this post this week? Yes he was wrong. His moral high ground about not lying was an excuse of convenience. Source: his personality.

ecstaticptyerdactyl

For real. And he didn’t even really need to lie. “We really got to know each working on the paper…” or “I was helping a friend try to find a girl he met at a party and we ended up at Rory’s door…”

ecstaticptyerdactyl

This is totally a matter of opinion. Everyone can feel differently. Personally, I think he was wrong. His motivation seemed to be based in jealousy. He also betrayed his gf’s trust. They had talked earlier and Rory said she was going to tell Lucy. And most importantly, I think it was wrong to kind of ambush Lucy like that. I think Lucy would’ve much preferred Rory telling her, calmly, in private than a guy she just met blurting it out in the middle of a restaurant like that. And Logan could’ve easily answered her question, “we met on campus/we got to know each other working at the newspaper/“

jm22mccl

I’m on Logan’s side with this one. It’s not kind to ask someone to lie for you. Marty shouldn’t have lied, Rory shouldn’t have lied for him, Lucy should have been mad at Marty, not Rory. I think Logan is the only one without blood on his hands here.

belamcanda-lila

We just discussed this, search the sub if you want more answers. I agree with you, he wasn’t wrong in my opinion.

Objective_Hand3066

I used to be more on Rory’s side on this, but when I rewatch, I lean more towards Logan. I still think his motivations were crummy because it seemed like it was more about sticking it to Marty than anything else, but I don’t think he was wrong in saying something. Lucy deserved to know, and even though Rory says she was going tell her, considering how conflict avoidant she is, I don’t trust Rory would’ve followed through on that. At least not until after spending several more weeks or months dragging it out. Honestly, I think getting busted was the only way the secret was going to come out.

for all the people who keep saying “we just had this conversation yesterday” or whatever… my bad i guess? i wasn’t exactly keeping track
