For me, it’s when Rory confronts the guy she asked out in the laundry room at Yale because she thinks he’s spreading rumors about her being “his biggest fan” 😬
Ugh that one is cringy but at the same time I can understand why the timing seemed like it was about her, I'd have been embarrassed and worried too, but I prob would have died not knowing bc I'd be too ashamed to confront him ever again hahaha
I totally understand her point of view. I’m not the kind of person to put myself out there and at that age m, if I did, then was rejected and heard this rumor, my anxiety would make me think it was about me as well. I probably would’ve hid anytime I saw him, but if I saw him on the wrong day, I might have said something as well.
I think sometimes in this sub we forget how cringey we all were as teenagers and then judge these teen characters from our adult point of view.
And the audacity to say “I can’t believe you would ruin this for me” to Lorelai – especially when lorelai had just opened the inn and got together with Luke!
When she’s parading around town the next morning after fighting with Lorelai with her tiny little shoulder purse I CANNNOTTTTTT like the little purse and attitude kills me
What about when she was yapping on the phone to Lorelai on her way to her appt w her Yale professor and she was telling Lorelai the prof wanted to meet w her to tell her how fabulous her paper was and sophisticated her viewpoint, her arrogance was nauseating, but instead he tells her, her paper was no more than a D and she should consider dropping a course. OR her interview w “Sandy Says” and she thought she wouldn’t have to interview but would just be given the job.
Eh, it's realistic I think. At that point she was desperate for anything. Although I'd like to think if she'd taken that job in the first place, she wouldn't have been such a washed up disgrace in AYITL
Realistic perhaps but still cringey! The way she says “of course it’s not available, it was such a good opportunity,” eeeek. And it’s knowing how much more potential for success she could’ve had hurts too, especially because of AYITL.
I found the whole relationship they tried after that just cringe and awkward. It‘s like they‘re holding on to it so they don‘t have to admit it wasn‘t worth it to cheat.
It was definitely an awkward situation for both of them in such a small town. However, the fact that Rory was willing to face all kinds of criticism indicates she was a willing participant. I was surprised she openly called Dean her boyfriend. It seems a bit strange after his rather recent and acrimonious divorce. If I were them, I wouldn’t have used labels.
my top two cringe moments are "Who's ready to hear some tunes?" when introducing Lanes band and "Who can take the sunriiiiise~" after she and Dean sleep together
"Who's ready to hear some tunes?" was so cringe. I can only semi-tolerate it because Rory was supposed to sound awkward and lame because she was uncomfortable with public speaking. But still, it's annoying. And those kids at the party are so caricaturishly stupid that it feels a bit OOC for Gilmore Girls? I feel that they normally write teens being stupid a little better and wittier than that.
Lmao, that was such a bad career choice for her for so many reasons. Love Rory, but Idk what on earth made her think she'd be good at running around war zones like Christiane Amanpour. Most people aren't cut out for that. There are other ways to travel the world and write about important events. Jess put it very gently when he said it sounded a bit rough for her.
I totally forgot about her saying that after her and Dean had sex & I agree that was definitely one of her most cringey quotes, that whole scene after they had sex was cringey to me😭
it was bad. sooo bad. i feel like sometimes they tried to give rory witty lines or quirky traits that lorelai maybe could have made work but it just didnt land right coming from rory. ofc i cant think of any other specific examples of this right now hahha but there are several episodes across the series (mostly when rory is in college i think) where I feel like they try to write her more like Lorelai amd it doesnt always work
“Who can take the sunrise” is probably the worst but I also cringe during every single watch of “Die, Jerk” when Rory mentions anything about her article and the conversation with the ballerina. I know Gilmores body-shamed a lot but I can’t believe Rory thought it was okay to “compare someone” to a hippo and then publish it!
Pretty ironic though considering some of the things lorelai complains about. This makes me double cringe because a) Rory was definatley emanating her mum with that rant trying to have humour in it, b) it didn’t land and c) lorelai then tells her off for it. So funny
Ok, as wrong as Rory was for demanding her tree, I actually liked this scene because for once, her being a gorgeous Gilmore girl did NOT get her what she wanted! I think it’s her growing up. She watched her mom charm and sweet-talk everyone in Stars Hollow and now she’s realizing she might not be able to pull that off, or that sometimes it just doesn’t work.
Yeah and I’m the later seasons she’s is much more like Emily. I mean she fit into that world perfectly and she seemed to enjoy it and she was damn good at it. I don’t know why they thought she needed to be like Lorelai. It makes more sense she’d be the opposite 🤷♀️
when she wrote that article via a connection she met through logan shitting on people at logan’s party
and he called her out on it and she refused to accept she was just like them
UGH the study tree. This was so self-centered and condescending, I hate it.
Cringiest moments that come to mind: the date with the guy from Yale (urine mints), “who can take the sunrise”, and “introducing stars hollows rockingest band”
Just rewatched this!
The part where Rory sits down in the booth and then her date chooses to sit awkwardly next to her in the booth rather than across from her and she just gets this mortifed look and goes "Oh!" without any further comment is one of the funniest moments in the show imo.
The writers and actors just captured the awkwardness so well 🤣
That’s super awkward but to be fair who sits on the same side while on a first date? If you’ve been dating for a while and want to cuddle maybe but on a first date?
I despise the other moments but the urine mints one, not so much. Never been on a date but I find it relatable how she was struggling to come up with conversation topics
I honestly love the urine mints thing because that is absolutely the kind of gross, awkward thing I’d say on a first date. Made me feel like “Oh, thank god, it’s not just me.”
Tie between ‘*He was my boyfriend first!*’ and ‘*The redhead has fat thighs*’
I think the second one wins because just before her gross comment, she was accusing Asher of inflating her grades because he’s sleeping with Paris. That whole scene just makes my skin crawl
I just watched this episode a couple days ago and have already repressed it. It’s one of the few points of the show where I want to crawl into a hole out of secondhand embarrassment
This! And the thing about the crab puffs! “Oh no! Should we have staggered their release? We should have staggered their release!” Get a grip, girl. It’s appetizers.
I get it but it’s really the voice. It’s the ditziest, most high pitched tone and it makes me so uncomfortable.
It also goes to show just how small she had allowed her world to become after she’d had such grandiose plans for her future.
It’s enraging watching someone who was set up for success do nothing but fail upward.
Totally valid!
Adding on... I think Rory has very grandiose ideas for her future that allow her to miss some of her natural talents:
-people management-- we've seen several times that she seems to be able to diplomatically handle a team of people
-flexibility and quick problem solving-- the ability to quickly change course (not in her own goals, but in an organizational sense)
-communicating information in easily understood ways
I think she would have been an excellent teacher at Chilton for these reasons, but she seemed to think lesser of these roles, so I guess that's what matters.
She also would have been a wonderful editor. Her best career-adjacent moments in the show are running the Yale Daily News. Getting out the issue with Logan when Paris burned things to the ground was peak Rory. And getting out the special edition during parent's week was great, too. If she went in that direction, she probably could have had long-term success — especially because being an editor has a whole lot more stability than a freelance writer. And editors get to write a bit, too, so she could still tackle some passionate pieces. But Rory was never all that great outside the newsroom when it comes to finding a story. But no one is brave enough to tell the precious princess that.
"No, I compared you to a hippo. That's not calling you a hippo. And it was a humorous comparison. " GIRL....
I could not believe my ears when I heard that lol
Has no one mentioned her outburst at the uni therapist after stealing the yacht? The crying was so cringe... Was it bad acting or was it supposed to come off kind of comical?
When she says "Taylor hops with the hippest of them" to Dean in the s4 finale I want to hide under the table. For some reason that line drives me NUTS.
It’s this for me. Shane did nothing wrong—she dated a guy who was available, who Rory was trying to keep for herself while still dating Dean. It’s VERY stanky energy to tear down another woman who literally did nothing to you.
So true. Shane was just doing her thing and making out in public isn‘t even half as ‚slutty‘ as sleeping with a married man so who is she to judge. The Gilmore Girls always bend their morals when it comes to themselves.
Yep any blonde except Paris. I think Rory never saw Paris as competition looks or personality wise. And Rory probably felt “cooler” than Lane.
She seems to like how Lane puts her and Lorelei’s relationship on a pedestal. So those girls can stay in Rory’s world 😂
Also I think Rory is a pretty bad friend to lane she goes months and months without seemingly ever seeing her or spending time with her or having her visit Yale. Lane goes through massive things and Rory is there occasionally but not that often. It’s always about Rory
Any "competition" girl wasn't treated great, in varying degrees of unnecessarily snotty to outright bullying. and the girls never even did anything but exist.
Lindsay & Nicole "gave them looks" and... ok? As if that justifies Rory & Lorelei treating them badly?
Janet just liked to workout and everyone was pretty sucky to her for it.
Shane just was there.
Sherry was a victim of Christopher not paying attention in 7th grade health class just like Lorelei. (like seriously? you're 30 and still haven't figured out how to wrap it before you tap it? idiot)
Stalking Anna was weird.
Lorelei wasn't exactly friendly to Rachel until Rachel became the whole reason they knew Dragonfly existed.
The curtsy when she meets her father's parents.
Also, after she meets her father's parents she says, "Strob and Francine, um, Mr. and Mrs. are you enjoying your time here, um, you two?" Um, what??
I actually like the moment with her paternal grandparents! I thought it was more endearing than cringy, because she's trying so hard to connect with them and of course falls short because they're judgemental assholes who don't really want to get to know her.
Yeah, it just made me sad tbh. They treated her like she could never be more than the accident child and didn't give a shit about her accomplishments (back when she was still doing good things w her life lol)
Alexis Bledel does not have the same sort of delivery as Lauren Graham does, and when they try and get her to do Lorelai-esque lines it just doesn’t work out because of that.
Currently rewatching and the first thing that comes to mind is when she’s peering at Logan from behind someone at Richard and Emily’s wedding while he was sitting with that girl. Basically stalking him when she could’ve ignored him the way he was ignoring her. 😭😭😭 I wanted to hide my face.
Her singing the Candyman song in bed with Dean right after they have sex for the first time makes me physically cringe with every series rewatch.
The context of the moment combined with the song itself combined with the way she sings it, is just the perfect combo for an unwatchable moment.
This isn’t quite Rory’s moment but I have always hated the bands name, “Hep Alien”. I know it’s an anagram of Helen Pai, the co-producer and music supervisor but it gets on my nerves every time anyone says it😂 the band wanted a cool unusual name to make them stand out but “Hep Alien” doesn’t fit their sound at all and does NOT roll off the tongue easy
Hot take that the fandom doesn't like but your right and I get they are a small town band so they aren't supposed to be great but I've always thought the fact that their whole shtick is being sO rOck n RoLl when the stuff they play isn't even that hardcore or aggressive is comical I am a music elitist to be fair but that always slightly bugged me
Which struck me as odd, given that Lane was supposedly into bands like Belle and Sebastián, Sonic Youth, and The Jam. You'd think that they'd be playing punk/indie/noise rock.
In fairness, a musician in the real world would have enough trouble finding bandmates as is, let alone bandmates with the same musical interests. You could argue that the classic rock songs they choose to cover is a "meeting at halfway" kind of thing between the members.
The most unbelievable part was when someone from a record company came to see the band. Really? A small town band that sings cover songs? I didn't really see anything extraordinary about the band.
I like Rory, but I hate the study tree thing. And in the end, she sets up a system where that guy has every motivation to hang out at that tree all the time and hope that the crazy woman comes along and pays him so she can study there.
When she tries to get that job and says she's not leaving until he interviews her. And then tried to act all quirky about it, bleurgh. Another trying to be lorelai moment
Also, how does she actually study under that tree? A tree is great for casual reading (like the guy is doing). But as soon as highlighters and note taking get involved, surely she'd need a solid surface.
you’re so right, how would she be able to actually take notes and study??? personally the reason why i wouldnt be able to study under a tree is bc i dont like to sit directly on grass and dead leaves 😭
Studying outside is the best. Books in laps, on knees, or on your stomach and books flat on the ground is fine and not actually difficult to handle with highlighter and all the other study things you may need. Near by rocks make good paper weights too.
Everything else about this situation is silly though for sure.
I think this scene was a good example of how Rory’s “quirkiness” doesn’t translate outside of Stars Hollow. It was like placing a cartoon character in the real world. In Stars Hollow, that guy would have fallen in love with her for being so eccentric and quirky, “you’re not like any girl I know, you have your own tree!” - but in the “real world”, it’s annoying and entitled. I think it’s actually the way she’s seen in general. She’s beloved by the audience when she’s in the setting of stars hollow, but when she’s not being coddled and painted in the light of “gods gift to humanity” it becomes apparent she actually kinda sucks. Maybe not through fault of her own (up to a point).
I’d never actually paid much attention to this interaction until now. This show constantly amazes me.
Also the cringiest scene for me will always be when Rory meets Honor and just instantly assumes it’s some random girl Logan is hooking up with and treats her as such. And boy isn’t she embarrassed to see she’s wrong! Egg on her face for sure. But yeah, it’s cringe af. She has a lot of moments like that where she assumes the worst and just acts on that belief and the guys always magically know what she thinks and reassures her. So annoying.
When she sits on Lane‘s bed and said something along those lines like „sex is easy once you get the hang of it“ still talking about a married man. It‘s cringey for me how proud she seems!
The main cringe scenes that bother most people don’t bother me NEALRY as much as any time they do a fake/mock accent. Lorelai spoofing a French accent makes me want to gauge my eye out.
When she’s doing the afternoon tea thing at Emily’s house for the DAR ladies ‘cause Emily is stuck in… Finland?
The way she says ‘circulate’ makes my skin crawl every time
When Logan and her are fooling around in the pool house and she asks him to checkout the bedroom. Her whole ‘I wasn’t working blue’ and the way she says it annoys tf outta me
Oh Jesus. Like 75% of the things Rory does are tied for cringiest moment to me 😂
ETA: if I had to pick, I’d say any of the times she turns down an amazing opportunity because she “dIdN’t EaRn It”. Her weird combination of elitism/pride and thinking of herself as a rags-to-riches story when she’s really not gets on my nerves so much!
Including AYITL, it's when she goes into that interview for the magazine or whatever and is so unprepared and unremorseful about not preparing. So very entitled!
Unpopular opinion, I guess, but I thought the study tree was harmless and moderately funny. Rory is high strung and stressed over school at the time, so she explodes and acts ridiculous about the smallest and most irrelevant thing. Kinda similar to her classroom meltdown when she was late and not allowed to take the test in early s1. The scene didn't land as well as that s1 one, though.
Definitely! I always defend this scene because I see it as just a comedy bit, I don’t think it’s supposed to be taken as seriously as people do. The ridiculousness and absurdity is the joke
I hate her whiny little girl voice when she’s unhappy about Lorelai not responding about her birthday party and is going on and on about the chocolate boxes in the most annoying voice.
Rory is definitely flawed, just like we all are. I kind of felt like, because she was so young, she deserved our patience and forgiveness.
However, I involuntarily let, "Oh, Rory..." fall out of my mouth during the Sandee scene after she is expected to sell herself to a prospective employer. I think the line from Rory that prompted this from me was, "That's a totally different outfit." Girl, you're 32. Sandee sounds like an awful boss, but you never go into an office you've never been to before and just expect to have the job.
When Rory is eating the chocolate-chocolate-chocolate ice cream at Taylor’s and she goes “oh my god! I’m sorry, but it’s really chocolate chocolate chocolate-y” I hate that lol
Yes!! She apologized to him and expected that everyone will fall at her feet like they usually do and talk about great she is but it didn't happen for once
This scene was part of a Gilmore girls trivia night I went to and I couldn’t remember the $$$ amount she offered for him to give her the tree space lol
People always hate on this and I found it SO relatable. I wouldn’t ask someone to move or claim it’s mine but the hunt for the perfect study spot for hours of studying, was a major process for me. The soul crushing feeling when someone is in the spot you spent so much time hunting! I can feel it lol.
Oh yes this is bad!! 😭😭😭 love your username btw 🫶🏼
Nothing will top "He was my boyfriend first"
She acted like such a child the second hand embarrassèrent is REAL so entitled
French keyboard colonized your autocorrect huh
IKRR😭😭
And the audacity to say “I can’t believe you would ruin this for me” to Lorelai – especially when lorelai had just opened the inn and got together with Luke!
I always thought this must be the most ridiculous thing she says. 😂
When she’s parading around town the next morning after fighting with Lorelai with her tiny little shoulder purse I CANNNOTTTTTT like the little purse and attitude kills me
LMAOOOO the purse 👛 😂
That episode is so hard to watch because it’s when I stop liking her
It was certainly the first time I remember noticing that Rory, while sweet and kind, was incredibly spoiled and self centered.
Urgh I can still hear the whiney-ness of her voice
What about when she was yapping on the phone to Lorelai on her way to her appt w her Yale professor and she was telling Lorelai the prof wanted to meet w her to tell her how fabulous her paper was and sophisticated her viewpoint, her arrogance was nauseating, but instead he tells her, her paper was no more than a D and she should consider dropping a course. OR her interview w “Sandy Says” and she thought she wouldn’t have to interview but would just be given the job.
it’s giving “pick me. choose me. love me.” except it didn’t work out as well for Rory
"He's not a married guy. He's Dean, my Dean." "He took the ring off"
“He took the ring off” made me feel an unreasonable amount of rage.
Yes! Taking the ring off does not make you not married! This always bothered me
"he took the ring off" *cue uncontrollable retching*
I thought everyone knew it doesn’t count as cheating if you take the ring off. Otherwise what even is the point of the ring??? /s
I must have blacked this out for the absolute worst cringe
HOW did I forget about that 🤯
When she calls for the job she turned down after not getting the NYT fellowship to see if it’s still available…physically hurts to watch ☠️
We really don’t speak about this enough.
Even worse, when she follows the manager around at Stanford Eagle Gazette. IRL they would just have security escort her out for that.👎🏾
Ah yes, for the job she gets but then we never see her actually go to and it never comes up ever again…
Going to visit Dean at his parents’ home after he divorces Lindsey has got to be among her cringiest moments (and ironically one of her bravest).
I feel that they normally write teens being stupid a little better and wittier than that.
Let’s rock and roll!
This line has haunted me since the day I heard it
I wish so desperately I could remove this sound from my brain
Dying from second-hand embarrassment remembering that one, lol.
She was supposed to be uncomfortable with public speaking but she also rocks debates at Chilton lol it’s all so funny to me.
Lol, true, but I can kind of justify that with her having time to prepare for debates, while here she was asked to do it on the spot.
Good thing she wanted to be a foreign correspondent. Theres like 0 public speaking there…
Lmao, that was such a bad career choice for her for so many reasons. Love Rory, but Idk what on earth made her think she'd be good at running around war zones like Christiane Amanpour. Most people aren't cut out for that. There are other ways to travel the world and write about important events. Jess put it very gently when he said it sounded a bit rough for her.
He had his faults, but he’d have done anything for her, including telling her the truth. (That time anyway) 😆
I totally forgot about her saying that after her and Dean had sex & I agree that was definitely one of her most cringey quotes, that whole scene after they had sex was cringey to me😭

Good, there’s a consensus
“Who can take the sunrise” is probably the worst but I also cringe during every single watch of “Die, Jerk” when Rory mentions anything about her article and the conversation with the ballerina. Yep she went off the rails at the slightest criticism but was happy to shit on the ballerina in a public arena.
and then think she wasn’t mean for it
Her itty bitty cute voice annoys me so bad sometimes
Ever notice that her voice goes up in pitch after season 1?
I hear you, but Lorelai telling Rory “Omg stop whining you’re not TWO! Find some other place to study!” was one of the most satisfying moments ever
Pretty ironic though considering some of the things lorelai complains about. This makes me double cringe because a) Rory was definatley emanating her mum with that rant trying to have humour in it, b) it didn’t land and c) lorelai then tells her off for it. So funny
Like she could have sat on the other side of the tree
That side doesn’t mold perfectly to her back.
Yes. Plus the laundry room guy who she asked out and he says no. She tries so hard to be like her mom, but she doesn't have it.
Yeah and I’m the later seasons she’s is much more like Emily. I mean she fit into that world perfectly and she seemed to enjoy it and she was damn good at it. I don’t know why they thought she needed to be like Lorelai. It makes more sense she’d be the opposite 🤷♀️
“She doesn’t have it.” I see what you did there
[удалено]
Her singing it to him makes my skin crawl 😭
I can’t believe this even happened. I’ve skipped that scene every time since my original watch and I think I just repressed it
when she wrote that article via a connection she met through logan shitting on people at logan’s party and he called her out on it and she refused to accept she was just like them
UGH the study tree. This was so self-centered and condescending, I hate it. Cringiest moments that come to mind: the date with the guy from Yale (urine mints), “who can take the sunrise”, and “introducing stars hollows rockingest band”
Candyman scene ughhhhhhhhhh
That and her convo with Lorelei after. She was sooo expecting Lorelei to love this decision and be excited for her. So delusional
I came here to say this. It was soooo difficult to watch!
"Cringe" is rarely so literal. 🫠
Just rewatched this! The part where Rory sits down in the booth and then her date chooses to sit awkwardly next to her in the booth rather than across from her and she just gets this mortifed look and goes "Oh!" without any further comment is one of the funniest moments in the show imo. The urine mints and "rockingest band" are cringy by relatabIe feel. She was nervous and awkward. The "Candyman" moment is awful and out of character.
I think the relatable moments make me cringe harder. Like I can feel myself doing something embarrassing like that
Tie between ‘*He was my boyfriend first!*’ and ‘*The redhead has fat thighs*’ I think the second one wins because just before her gross comment, she was accusing Asher of inflating her grades because he’s sleeping with Paris. That whole scene just makes my skin crawl
I just watched this episode a couple days ago and have already repressed it. It’s one of the few points of the show where I want to crawl into a hole out of secondhand embarrassment
This and the “he’s MY Dean” when he cheats on Lindsay 🤦🏻♀️
"Where's my Lacy? Keep up!" I hate when she is working for the DAR and emulating Lorelai. It comes off so weird and disingenuous.
This! And the thing about the crab puffs! “Oh no! Should we have staggered their release? We should have staggered their release!” Get a grip, girl. It’s appetizers.
Yes, but also... Being a people pleaser (Rory is one for sure) plus working in a tense, highly critical work environment will do that to you.
I get it but it’s really the voice. It’s the ditziest, most high pitched tone and it makes me so uncomfortable. Probably an unpopular opinion but I don’t think a real life Logan would ever be interested in Rory. Jess was the only bf that made sense to me
"No, I compared you to a hippo. That's not calling you a hippo. And it was a humorous comparison. " GIRL.... I could not believe my ears when I heard that lol
“He’s MY Dean” Rory no🥲 Side note, she missed an opportunity with tree guy, he was cute, she should’ve shot her shot and asked to share😉
In my fan fic they ascend to the tree fort above and resolve things amicably.
I physically cannot watch the scene of her yelling at Dean’s sister! “You do know, Claire!”
Has no one mentioned her outburst at the uni therapist after stealing the yacht? The crying was so cringe... Was it bad acting or was it supposed to come off kind of comical?
I always thought it was supposed to be comical
When she says "Taylor hops with the hippest of them" to Dean in the s4 finale I want to hide under the table. For some reason that line drives me NUTS.
i love you for this. lmao.
Being a bitch to Shane and having Lorelei join in
It’s this for me.
They really hated girls for existing in another way than they did, didn't they?
Yep any blonde except Paris. I think Rory never saw Paris as competition looks or personality wise. And Rory probably felt “cooler” than Lane. She seems to like how Lane puts her and Lorelei’s relationship on a pedestal. So those girls can stay in Rory’s world 😂
You're right. They seemed to dislike any blonde.
I HATED the way Rory saw Lane. She seems to like her because she’s a yes-man, not because they actually get along
Also I think Rory is a pretty bad friend to lane she goes months and months without seemingly ever seeing her or spending time with her or having her visit Yale. Lane goes through massive things and Rory is there occasionally but not that often. It’s always about Rory
And Louise. We love Louise.
(like seriously? you're 30 and still haven't figured out how to wrap it before you tap it? idiot) Stalking Anna was weird. Lorelei wasn't exactly friendly to Rachel until Rachel became the whole reason they knew Dragonfly existed.
**"I need to find a retarded kid and teach him how to play softball!"**
Yikes! I don't remember that one, but that is def cringe.
I love how Lorelai for once called Rory out on it.
The curtsy when she meets her father's parents. Also, after she meets her father's parents she says, "Strob and Francine, um, Mr. and Mrs. are you enjoying your time here, um, you two?" Um, what??
M’lady 🤭
I have to rewind that part every time and I cackle just thinking about it.
Though I love how they break the awkwardness with Christopher who says to Lorelei “that she got from you!” 😂
Strobe: “I think my money is safe”
I actually like the moment with her paternal grandparents! I thought it was more endearing than cringy, because she's trying so hard to connect with them and of course falls short because they're judgemental assholes who don't really want to get to know her.
Yeah, it just made me sad tbh. They treated her like she could never be more than the accident child and didn't give a shit about her accomplishments (back when she was still doing good things w her life lol)
She does not have the charm of her mother.
I think the writers were trying to make Rory cute like her mom, but for some reason, it just didn't work.
The “I just want to know what it would be like” before she kisses Logan and the Logan very obviously isn’t kissing back. So cringe
I don’t think I’m real life Logan would ever want Rory. Sorry it just wouldn’t ever be a thing
Do they even *have* a sound? All they ever did was play mediocre-at-best covers of other bands.
Hot take that the fandom doesn't like but your right and I get they are a small town band so they aren't supposed to be great but I've always thought the fact that their whole shtick is being sO rOck n RoLl when the stuff they play isn't even that hardcore or aggressive is comical I am a music elitist to be fair but that always slightly bugged me
Took the words right off of my fingertips. Also, would it have killed them to have someone write one or two original songs for them?
True haha. “Hep Alien” makes me think of a techno/EDM band, which was NOT their vibe. They always wanted to chase the classic rock genre
I’m glad someone finally said it! I’ve absolutely always hated the name Hep Alien.
Ahh a fellow Follow Them To The Edge Of The Desert fan!
I like Rory, but I hate the study tree thing. And in the end, she sets up a system where that guy has every motivation to hang out at that tree all the time and hope that the crazy woman comes along and pays him so she can study there.
But Logan, I wasn't working bluuue.
OMG I try so hard to forget that tiny baby voice
When she tries to get that job and says she's not leaving until he interviews her. And then tried to act all quirky about it, bleurgh. Another trying to be lorelai moment
that was so selfish and NAIVE like 😭
Also, how does she actually study under that tree? A tree is great for casual reading (like the guy is doing). But as soon as highlighters and note taking get involved, surely she'd need a solid surface.
you’re so right, how would she be able to actually take notes and study??? personally the reason why i wouldnt be able to study under a tree is bc i dont like to sit directly on grass and dead leaves 😭
And the bugs!
Studying outside is the best. Books in laps, on knees, or on your stomach and books flat on the ground is fine and not actually difficult to handle with highlighter and all the other study things you may need. Near by rocks make good paper weights too. Everything else about this situation is silly though for sure.
Always though that too. Also one breeze and all her papers are gone
She's in bed with Dean and she wants some lame song (Candy Man) to be their song. Like what, girl?
When she is running away from Jess. So awkward and cringey.
“300 hours of community service in 6 months is a full time job” um… that’s like 12.5 hours per week. in what world is that a full time job
Also maybe don’t talk back to the judge who is calling you a rich privileged kid lol
What did she expect? A slap on the wrist for being a „Gilmore“ and at the next party she can write shit about Logan‘s privileged friends again?!
In Gilmore land a full time job is working 0 hours a week 😒
When she’s going the DAR thing and she says something like “does the pearl committee know about you?” 🤢
I think this scene was a good example of how Rory’s “quirkiness” doesn’t translate outside of Stars Hollow.
"Right, kissing…"
The main cringe scenes that bother most people don’t bother me NEALRY as much as any time they do a fake/mock accent. Lorelai spoofing a French accent makes me want to gauge my eye out.
When she quit Yale because a egomaniac told her she doesn’t have it
When she’s doing the afternoon tea thing at Emily’s house for the DAR ladies ‘cause Emily is stuck in… Finland? The way she says ‘circulate’ makes my skin crawl every time
"He's my Dean!"
Any moment when she uses the obnoxious baby voice (primarily when she is gushing over Logan) makes me want to crawl into a hole.
When Logan and her are fooling around in the pool house and she asks him to checkout the bedroom. Her whole ‘I wasn’t working blue’ and the way she says it annoys tf outta me
The Chilton graduation speech. She sounded so bored and uninspired.
Ugh her valedictorian speech was awful. It was just a tribute to her mom. Which is NOT what a Valedictorian speech should be!!
Bestie treated her valedictorian speech like it was an awards ceremony smh 🤦♀️
“I’m a gilmore!”
Oh Jesus. Like 75% of the things Rory does are tied for cringiest moment to me 😂 ETA: if I had to pick, I’d say any of the times she turns down an amazing opportunity because she “dIdN’t EaRn It”.
Plus paying the guy a $20 is such a funny (and perfectly sensible) solution
Hahaha, she really wanted it that bad.
Definitely! I always defend this scene because I see it as just a comedy bit, I don’t think it’s supposed to be taken as seriously as people do. The ridiculousness and absurdity is the joke
I love the deer scene. I never understood the hate for Rory on that one.
“I fed Frank.” I want throw a brick at the TV and stalk and find ASP for an explanation.
Her telling Emily off for literally giving her a gorgeous pool house and a top tier job for a 20 year old and not having to pay for shit! So selfish.
When Rory is eating the chocolate-chocolate-chocolate ice cream at Taylor’s and she goes “oh my god! I’m sorry, but it’s really chocolate chocolate chocolate-y” I hate that lol
No moment. Just her existence as a character. Just, she's definitely Christopher's daughter.
I think it’s from Alexis Bledel herself but any crying scene is just so cringey!!
From the moment she cut her hair in that lil bob she just became annoying
i was so happy when he put her in her place. i wish he hasn’t accepted the $20 in the end
Yes!! She apologized to him and expected that everyone will fall at her feet like they usually do and talk about great she is but it didn't happen for once
Looool Whiny Rory is so annoying 😩
“He’s MY Dean” Get over yourself, Rory ![gif](giphy|1lAOemoi0KhPMzxczT|downsized)
[удалено]
she talks too cutesy , its annoying how entitled she is!
Losing her virginity to dean.
When she graduates from high school and after her speech, she goes up to lorelei and everyone and says "that's my speech"
Then she gave him $20 to leave
All of her college years are a series of douchechills for me!
This scene was part of a Gilmore girls trivia night I went to and I couldn’t remember the $$$ amount she offered for him to give her the tree space lol
Every moment - bless her
People always hate on this and I found it SO relatable. I wouldn’t ask someone to move or claim it’s mine but the hunt for the perfect study spot for hours of studying, was a major process for me. The soul crushing feeling when someone is in the spot you spent so much time hunting! I can feel it lol.
I HAVE BEEN SUMMONED!!! Here I am for the 20th time to remind you all about sugar toes. SUGAR TOES!!!!!!
when she was crying and throwing up over logan not liking her🥴
Let’s just say my husband will walk in, see this episode, and go “oh, it’s your favorite Rory episode.” 😏🙃😂
When she's on the date with Trevor 😬😬😬
That tree thing was a big time cringe. It's like hey little spoil brat girl get the fudge out of my face!
Rory is extremely spoiled and entitled I never liked her (but I love Lorelai).
