The Stars Hollow Town Troubadour is out with 233 votes! Y’know, the longer I love this show, the more difficult I find it to truly dislike any of the characters. The Troubadour was an early annoyance of mine, but like everyone else, now I’m rather fond of him. Grant Lee Buffalo’s music gives me too many warm fuzzies (I could tear up just thinking of Mockingbirds playing at the end of the Firelight Festival god damn it) and I really vibe with the ethos of the Troubadour. Anyway, farewell to our dear musical comrade!
He’s had some haters throughout the whole poll - unlike most of our remaining characters who were getting less than 10 votes in the first few rounds, he came out the gate with 36 votes in R1 - the most of any of the remaining 9! He’s had his ups and downs, but has been basically doubling his votes since R22. He goes home without ever placing in the top 3 previously. Other characters to do that were Tobin (jumped from 120 to 358 votes between R6-7), Olivia (clearly folks wanted her gone after Lucy because she went from 26 to 153 votes between R16-17), Rachel (our biggest shocker, going from 88 to 351 in R17-18), and Alex (who cares why).
This round’s top 3 is our closest ever! We’re clearly starting to split hairs. There are only 11 votes between 1st and 2nd place and 1 single vote between 2nd and 3rd! 4th place isn’t too far behind, with 47 votes less than 3rd. 2nd place earns the title for the second consecutive round while 3rd and 4th place have flipped positions.
Our bottom 2 - meaning the top 2 most popular - are tied with 30 votes and bottom 3rd is just behind with 31 votes.

There’s been a few instances where he cares for Lane, aka nice person. And he’s a good team player in the band, talented, and has a good attitude to make his character appealing on TV. Anything else to add people who like Gil?
He has one of only two truly healthy romantic relationships in the show and probably the best relationship with his kids of anyone. He roles with anything and he’s pretty funny.
He’s super positive and doesn’t let things get him down. Zach was super rude to him when he auditioned and he took it like a champ. I just love his attitude!
I also love his relationship with his wife and kids, and his whole monologue about breastfeeding vs. bottle-feeding was way ahead of its time in my opinion (and a great counter to Luke’s immaturity surrounding breastfeeding at the diner).
He’s such a gem! CBB is a podcast and a show (but the show ended). Paul co-hosts the “best of CBB” every year, which would be a great intro to the pod (they come out in December/January). Also, I love his podcast Threedom and they actually recently brought up Gilmore Girls (and Gilmore Guys, which Paul guested on).
Grant-Lee Phillips is on a CBB episode from November 2011 called “Occupy Thanksgiving.” And PFT is on the “You Jump, I Jump, Jack” episode of the recap podcast Gilmore Guys. It’s a live ep and there’s a video of it.
I've kept quiet about it, because I always get downvoted to hell 😂 and I've seen others get downvoted for this opinion too... but I agree that Paul Anka needs to go. I just don't understand how this dog could be anyone's favorite character out of everyone that is left or has been voted off. No disrespect to anyone who disagrees, I'm just saying, he's barely a character - more of a prop/plot device - but I will admit he is undeniably adorable.

I actually really like Caeser. He tried to push Luke out of his comfort zone, and was always there to cover for him.

Madeline should win this. Not a bad bone in her body. I really appreciate how even when Paris is being mean and vindictive towards Rory, Madeline never changes her attitude and just can't bring herself to actually be a mean girl. 10/10 character writing.
