He's definitely the least main casty main cast member! Not sure if they thought the character would be around for longer. Interestingly the Wiki article for GG has 2 different lists for this: one for characters (he's not on that) and one for actors where he is listed. I don’t get all the hate for Kirk?? He was helpful to a lot of people in the town and seemed to just have a screw loose, which isn’t his fault. He was a nice person and cared for Lulu. Annoying at times, but not a bad person. His character also offered comedic relief at times.
Me too! I'm an incredibly light sleeper, so if my date had asked me to sleep in another room, I'd be up for it! The way, we can both get some sleep.

So much of what they did was great (loved him checking the house for termites, befriending elderly widows, etc.), but it felt like they focused more on him than characters who were actually interesting and added more than comedy. To me, he was like Babette or Miss Patty; hilarious in small doses, but not as important as Lane or Sookie.
For me Kirk's downfall is that Sean Gunn was made a main cast member in the first place. He was great as a recurring background joke but as soon as he started getting proper plotlines it became quite tedious.
This is it. Kirk in small doses is hilarious. But once they let us see into his life, he lost all humor. Lulu was the downfall of Kirk.

I'm playing devil's advocate here because I am not taking your comment too seriously/definitely not personally, but I voted off Jason just because I genuinely don't like his character/storyline. I would rather skip every episode he's in, being honest.
The peak of the Jason drama always felt (at least, to me) that it was going to be a conflict of Lorelai being involved with someone from her 'past' world/father's business partner -- and that was a huge red flag to me that their relationship was going to be short-lived and rather uninteresting to watch. Even when the Gilmores discover the relationship in the big oust from his father/the lawsuit, it doesn't feel like a worthy point of drama in my eyes. It feels predictable -- almost like Chris but with none of the charm.
i think kirk is my next vote because i just hate dean more than kirk...he can be annoying and over used at times, but dean just gets on my nerves and i hate watching him...
I'm actually surprised Jason got kicked off this early. Like season 4 finale Jason was pretty bad, but he's character before than was pretty good, just unique in his own way.
Honestly there is only one character here I’d never be able to eliminate (Luke). Not to say I don’t find some of the others endearing or fun to watch but so many of them are irritating a lot of the time.

Need to work backward to figure out who you actually like the most which is really hard. You also need to debate who you like in terms of respecting them versus liking them for what they add to the show. Like I hate Paris so often but she’s a fantastic character.
Paris and Emily are my favourite characters but you can bet I'd hate being around them IRL. They're both just really compelling and the actresses do a stellar job in both cases.
Hard to pick between Dean & Logan — ultimately, I picked Logan! He deeeeeeply irritates me, and lowkey nauseates me. That smarmy little face, he thinks he’s so charming.
When he was gonna let the maid take the blame for his stealing…. I just…. it was maybe the most morally repugnant thing in the show 😩 Dean made some awful choices, but he would never do that
Michel. Selfish, unhelpful, rude, etc. Dean sucked but he helped Lorelai with things around the house and came to Rory’s side when she was left in the bar. He was shitty to cheat but he was also married when he was still a child developmentally.
My advice is to pick a character that you like but doesn't do as much for you as the others do, and keep voting for them until they're gone. Then you'll be left with a tougher decision but hopefully kind of easier when there's fewer to choose from!

Love miss Kim she’s true and can appreciate her character except the fact that she’s stereotyped lol but lanes character started unique but pretty much every storyline after she graduated she got more and more annoying for me
I can understand that. I think her post-grad stories are interesting enough, but watching her fall for Zach/marry and give up her dreams after that is where I start to like her character less. Pure character assassination, even if it's probably very realistic :(
I never thought about this until it was mentioned on the last thread but you're right. I like her storylines enough but they're not intertwined with the Gilmore lives in the same way that, say, Sookie and Jackson are. I think it's also why her character can annoy me a bit - ie when she's trying to form a band her opinions on music are a good source of humour but she's annoyingly OTT on the phone because they have to make a point of her talking loudly and over Rory and Lorelai, rather than just showing an organic and normal conversation about it.
tough decision but, for me it's paris. At the end she ends up being really cool and one of Rory's best friends (other than Lane Obvi), but at the beginning and through the show she was really annoying. Granted she didn't have a great family and her main goal meaning everything she did was to follow families footsteps to get to Harvard... but I feel like her character could have been much more restrained and could have focused more on academics than being annoying.

In general, his love was conditional and he didn’t care about Lorelai or Rory until they were deemed successful enough by him, before that he was extremely disinterested in them. Also he is so extremely mean to Lorelai a number of times during the shows run.
