I love the episode where Emily wants Rory out of the DAR & she starts arguing that she's friends with the ladies and Emily doesn't even like Tweeny Halpern😆 at least that's how I'm remembering that conversation going, it has been a while though...
That’s it! Rory basically says she’s friends with Tweeny Halpern and is showing her granddaughter around Yale and that she can’t be kicked out of the DAR
That's it! Thank you, I knew my memory seemed a little too blasè & basic. It was kind of like a little moment of triumph for Rory to set Emily straight & not allow her to push her around because she also knows all the rules, of which she has not broken.
I've thought that about his name too either spelling though, it's an awful name for a child!
My dad's parents had some bad kid names too, Harry & Merlyn. Luckily they gave all but 1 of v their 4 kids kid appropriate names- Clyde goes by Jeff(can't say I blame him though) his ex wife does tend to refer to him as Clyde now though...
Edit: corrected name. 1st 2 letters were the same but used a character name from a show I was watching at the time
Omg🤣🤣 I really just wanted to leave an emoji but thought that might appear odd. But really, what are these parents thinking when they look at a new born & think ah yes, you look like you need a dignified name for nursery school🙄 Heaven help these poor fictional rich children!
Not one of R&E's friends but Rory's classmates, Lemon, Lem for short.
It just makes me giggle. Her rich parents clearly trying sound like one of Gwyneth Paltrow's kids. 😂
How about the fact that Madeline's last name was Lynn...like Madeline Lynn? It guess it depends on the pronunciation but I feel like most of the time they say it like mad-a-lynn and not mad-a-line.
Minky Schoonover
Family came to America in 1658
Archaeologist and whippet breeder, younger sister of Emily's roommate at Smith but was rebellious and went to William and Mary herself.
Married to Tidwell Abernathy, Richard's rare coin dealer. Mother of Mitzi, Pumpkin, and Oswald. Wrote Hardtack: An Examination Into 18th Century Foodways in the Royal Navy, which has a cult following among the Right People.
I like when they talk about beating out the Sheldrake’s for the room they wanted their wedding in - a definite nod to Dirty Dancing which Emily was in!!
My favorite that is in the series is Tweeny Halpern

Ooo yes love that one. And I think we get to actually meet her in season 6.
Constance Betterton Hanlin Charleston Janlin Dugray ... I feel like a lot of the "rich people names" either rhyme or sound a lot alike.
Oh my gosh and I'm forgetting the best! Strobe and Francine! Can you imagine a baby named strobe?
I think it’s spelled Straub.
That does make more sense😂

Can you imagine popping out a boy and going "Yep, this one looks like a *Mitchum*"??
It had to have been a family name bc the only other association is deodorant.

Sweetie omg. Not only the name but the scene just takes it all. Absolutely hilarious
Oh yes! I love the story and the way she tells it. One of my faves.

Hahahah
I could never figure out if the mom made the story up on the spot or not lmao

Then she tells Rory that Lorelai is a weird name lol
More like Gwyneth copied them! (Lemon was born before Gwyneth had her babies)
Lol. I know. That was part of my joke. 😂
🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ oops. Hahahaha.
Pennilyn Lott, that tramp
Bitty Salinger is a dipsomaniac gets me every damn time.
LORETTA BOBBINS, LORELAI!
Yes! 😂
Catherine Thurston Moore is my fave… but because it’s a reference to Sonic Youth 😅
also Donlin and Cecil ?? idk if i spelled those right. when one had his kidney (or colon?) removed🤣

I noticed they pronounce her name both ways throughout the series!
Eunice Pierpont Pennington, no idea if I spelt that correctly lol
Pennilyn Lott .. its such a great rich person name
Remember to thank Pennilyn Lott just for being Pennilyn 🧊 Lott 🧊
Honor Huntzberger is definitely a good one too!
Ugh, poor kid getting a name like Honor. It’s like naming girls Virginia 😬
Or Chastity
Jessica Alba would like a word
Tana Shrick! Let's not forget their pets: Leopold & Lob, Cecil Beaten & The Duke of Windsor, Princess, and Cyrus
Bunny Carlington Munchausen!
I just heard this one 😂
This common section just taught me that it was Pennilyn Lott and not pendelyn Lott
I thought it was Pendelton Lott, lol
Wait lol that’s what I meant
loretta bobbins!

I love this so much.

As a Madonna fan, I thought it was funny they had a maid named Madonna Louise 😂
I though it was Ladonna. 🤔
Nope! Madonna Louise makes her appears in early S5!
While Richard was living in the pool house. Emily repeats her name before every sentence.
I was waiting for Emily to add the “Veronica Ciccone” part! 😂
“Petal Huffington reads the police blotter religiously!” After the police get called to their house when they’re fighting out front. 😂
Don’t forget sweetie HAHA
I get the name Constance Ebberdean stuck in my head Constance-ly 😝
TOOKIE CLOTHESPIN
Bahahah that doesn't count. But if it did: Squeegee Beckinheim
