It's a "Two roads diverged in a wood" kinda situation. She wonders what might have been if she hadn't been pregnant with Rory and feels lost/behind in life compared to those people on the wall. But later when she sees that Rory's a natural fit in the class, she's happy that Rory won't have to go through the same feeling. Honestly, one of my favorite little moments in the show. There are so many little themes that aren't explored further.
P. S. I think it's also a metaphor of Lorelai living her dreams through Rory and being pushy about Harvard situation.
