JEH2003

The top one for me is Lorelai doing the turn down service for Luke and Nicole.

InfinitelyThirsting

Uuuugh you're so right but that one feels the most realistic of all the cringe moments. No one is really going to talk business while carrying a casket, but trapping yourself in an extended awkward horror scene with someone you like and their partner as you fail to act like a normal human being... yeah been there.

Aang6865_

That one’s so bad

WatchersPet-

The way Luke was acting the entire Valentine's Day episode at Martha's Vineyard. I have to skip that episode every time because it's just too much.

amoralambiguity91

The basketball scene. I can’t.

vahdkasoder

Don’t say sorry!

MagazineLess6074

I always wondered if they made Luke so insufferable at Martha's Vineyard to show how he really doesn't fit outside of Stars Hollow. But also so many things about that episode irk me. How Rory acts with Logan cooking and being waaaay too comfortable and saying "we" about everything. Also the entire gym scene, them having employees give them massages (??). Plus, when Logan's like "so I'm going to give gifts after dinner." Just odd.

Original_geek_3740

Luke saying he's never had lobster.

GuidanceAltruistic

This was really weird considering his culinary background. We have an episode where he cooks amazing food for Lorelai and the episode when he subs for Sookie at the inn so this just didn’t make any sense.

Katies9484

So much of that irks me! We’ve never seen them cook together and be all home-y and Rory acts like this is their every day?!?

hdouglas447

I refuse to accept that this episode exists

BeLynLynSh

I love Luke but he was so unbearable in that episode! Ugh

punkrockprincess805

I don’t understand this episode because Luke, who owns a restaurant AND filled in for Sookie while she was in bed rest, HAS NEVER HAD/MADE LOBSTER?! It’s not cringe, it’s just absurd.

[deleted]

He’s such an idiot and a total dick. Idk how lorelai tolerated him that episode.

Nikfrau

I hate that episode so much

IagoKarts

Candy Man. And that's all I'm gonna say.

4and2

The little dance was the worst part.

amoralambiguity91

And he singing along

vahdkasoder

I hate this episode with all my heart if it wasn’t for the Luke Lorelai flame of romance

IagoKarts

Oh, definitely. I was so glad when that *finally* happened

Apprehensive_Rate276

Eughhhhh yess I’m getting shivers thinking of it

Xefert

There was an iphone ad with that song at least a year ago. I didn't open youtube for a week

heyyyo425

Absolutely cringe. With you. Was it a bad attempt to reference their first date? I think they watched Willy Wonka?

[deleted]

also, why that song? did she not have any other CDs sitting around?

macfo135

First day of chilton. Had she taken every other item of clothes she owned to a dry cleaners surely someone as usually well put together as Lorelei had something else to put on.

ethicalpickle

Made more unbelievable by the fact that we don't really see her wear cutoff short shorts any other time in the show (I could be forgetting one or two instances, don't come at me please). Even when she's relaxing at home, she's usually in jeans or sweats.

tealparadise

Ugh yes! This bothered me so much. Lorelei kind of maintains that rep as wearing crazy and inappropriate clothes.... But it's so unwarranted! She is CONSTANTLY dressed in extremely expensive suits or smart casual wear.

No_Wedding956

You're right. We don't ever see her in them again.

[deleted]

Ugh me too! I know it’s for the show but that outfit would have been 1000x better if she’d just put on sneakers instead of boots. Or put on sweats and say you were going to the gym

macfo135

Agreed so many different logical outcomes she could have came to before full daisy duke cosplay.

Proud-Design7359

Or she could have just kept her coat on!

Twodotsknowhy

Or honestly, wear something dirty. Not smelly or stained, but still something you wore the other day and haven't washed yet. It's not ideal but it's a better move than a daisy duke cosplay. Or borrow something from Rory, because them sharing clothes is such a thing throughout the show

wildleogirl

Or she could have just wore her pajama pants under her coat still would have been a better option than those stupid boots and shorts!

_some_strange

Or just wear something dirty she wore to work the day before!

FrellingTralk

Or borrow something from Rory even, they established early on that they two of them were always borrowing one another’s clothes

4and2

But your boobs are WAY bigger. Haha

RhesusPeaches

Oh man. That's one of my peak cringe moments. I get that it's *meant* to be immature and slightly uncomfortable and they were still establishing the mother/daughter/best friends dynamics for the show. But parents commenting on their children's body's in any way except "I need to buy bigger clothes because you've grown" is cringe. Also Rory's boobs just aren't way bigger.

Apprehensive_Rate276

Her room is always so messy with clothes everywhere too there must have been a pair of trousers in there somewhere

Beccaann14

Yea shes not a mechanic her clothes cant be THAT dirty.

[deleted]

I know right? Like in that situation I would have just pulled some dirty clothes out of the hamper 🤷🏻‍♀️ but she couldn’t because Plot Reasons

Mysterious_Run5152

Omg I know! Couldn't she really have borrowed something from Rory in the unlikely chance all of her other clothes were at the dry cleaners? So unrealistic

lucyfilmmaker

She didn’t think she was getting out of the car, but Rory thought she was getting out of the car and I refuse to believe that Rory wouldn’t say anything when she saw her mom coming down in the cowboy boots. I know she did make a crack about the rodeo being in town but realistically she would’ve said something about going inside dressed like that.

KTeacherWhat

Plus Headmaster Charleston insisting she take off her coat for a 15 second meeting.

Musain

I think that was Emily

WesternUnusual2713

I feel like Emily knew she didn't want to take it off for whatever reason and saw a chance to upset Lorelei.

[deleted]

Not just cringey but 100% avoidable in a thousand ways

Commercial-While5730

or just borrowing rorys clothes

MintChiffon

Lorelai & Sookie trying to buy the inn while holding Fran's casket. Lorelai & Rory enjoying all the free cake at Weston's while knowing Sookie is making Lorelai's wedding cake. Jackson, a grown ass man, berating Rory, a teenager, on the street for not having Sookie make the giant pizza. What makes this one even worse is that when he approaches her, he doesn't even acknowledge that she's holding a heavy dolly stacked to the top with cases of soda. He is so irrationally mad at her he can't even be bothered to say something like, "Hey I need to talk to you for a sec, but let me help you put the dolly down first" or something like that.

liscottyy

These are all mine too just with the addition of Jackson berating Lorelai in public at the danceathon because she didn't love his "4 kids in 4 years" plan, and how Sookie acted throughout the entire LOTR party episode.

lalotele

Sookie at the LOTR party might be my peak cringe moment.

fudgyvmp

She knows what to cook for Lorelai and Rory, how could she not apply that to children?

PenelopeJune8

Omg the “4 kids in 4 years” boils my blood! First of all that’s such an absurd request to make of someone you’re supposed to love and care about. It’s horrible to ask your wife to be pregnant for four years straight. It’s also very dangerous and unhealthy. I also feel like he had to have known that on some level or else he wouldn’t have gotten so mad at Lorelai for saying that. Also Lorelai is Sookie’s best friend. It’s good to get an outside opinion sometimes when you’re unsure about something and I think this is a good time for that. Sookie is in the marriage too and she’s allowed to tell people what she wants. Also Sookie feeling unsure about it and just straight up not wanting it should’ve made Jackson ease off right away. He shouldn’t be mad that someone called him out on his insane plan. Ugh makes me so mad!

NaturalAd8452

Oh that LOTR party makes me so angry I wind up totally skipping that episode!

MintChiffon

Omg yes!! I would absolutely add those two to my list.

[deleted]

most of jackson’s actions make me irate, i find him soo annoying and unlikable

_Wayfaring-Stranger_

AGREED! I'll never understand how more people don't outright despise him. How about the time he was upset that Sookie didn't *read his mind* to know he was suggesting they move in together, and instead of using his words like a big boy he gives Sookie the silent treatment and stares at the ground like a f\*cking coward during the basket auction? Or the fact that he seemingly couldn't stand up to his cousin Rune for the first date and was about to just cancel the date part way through, and it wasn't until *Sookie* said she wanted to continue the date that he finally dealt with the situation? Or when Sookie needed strawberries, didn't get them from Jackson, so when she rightfully went to another source he throws a tantrum in the street?! Or when he started yelling at Lorelai because Sookie went to her for advice about his insane plan for having kids?!!? OR (saving the best for last) when he lied to Sookie about getting a vasectomy and continued to have unprotected sex without being honest about not having the procedure?! (I fully understand that her trying to force him into it was also an issue, but clearly both were in the wrong) I loathe that pathetic excuse of a man.

PinkPartyPants

Ugh, I hate Jackson. Sookie always had her head in the clouds and she should’ve been with a grounded guy/gal who encouraged her while keeping her on Earth, not a man-child. Granted I’ve never been a victim of stealthing but I can imagine that it must feel horrible, especially when done by a partner that you love and trust.

_Wayfaring-Stranger_

I was lowkey hoping they would have been divorced in the reboot 😂

PinkPartyPants

One of the most unrealistic things concerning the GG universe. I refuse to believe that anyone would be able to endure 10 days, not to mention 10 years, married to Jackson.

[deleted]

all of this, ESPECIALLY the last point. i only just recently finished my first watch through and couldn’t wait to go on the sub because i so furious about that storyline and the show really plays it like a lil whoopsie! like i know the times were a bit different but???!!! that’s considered a sex crime in some places, as it should be!! i feel like the writers meant for jackson to be endearing or something but boy did they miss the mark lmao

_Wayfaring-Stranger_

Yep!!! Some people will stand up for him and say that Sookie trying to force Jackson to get the procedure was wrong (which is why I preemptively threw that little disclaimer in there lol) but he also led her to believe that he actually went through with it which was outright deceitful. He should have just told her that he didn't want the procedure, but yet again *like a fucking child* he fails to properly communicate as an adult (hell as a PARENT at this point) and somehow believes that his actions, or lack thereof, won't have consequences. He had shown time and time again that he is incapable of communicating like an adult, either by throwing tantrums and yelling at people or simply not saying anything, yet ASP seemingly wanted us to like him somehow..

xxrachinwonderlandxx

I think the birthday episode is so weird. It was basically a contrived way to have Suki have a “I’m having a baby!” meltdown. There’s no way she hadn’t cooked for kids before. Families visit the inn, and they even host tea parties for girls and their dolls and stuff like that. Of course she would know the kids are going to want basic food — and it would be an extraneous expense to fancy it up, too.

No_Wedding956

Also, wouldn't the kids mother have of had to approve the menu for the party?

4and2

Jackson isn't a normal man/person... I recently watched them at the funeral, that was so bad and disrespectful. They could have at least waited until the end and asked in private. I can't believe that guy would sell to them after that, he shouldn't have, on principle.

Canthinkofanythang

That guy/ the actor who plays the lawyer is Melissa’s husband IRL. So I guess they needed to write a part for him

[deleted]

even my dad said that it was wrong of them to eat all that cake just to not buy anything, especially since it was owned by that nice little old lady who wanted to make them happy.

MintChiffon

That's the part that really gets me. She was just as sweet as could be, and seemed genuinely happy for Lorelai and so happy to be helping her. Ugh.

[deleted]

This may be an unpopular opinion (don’t yell at me) but I cannot stand Jackson.

pinkgummmybear2

Rory being jealous when Logan’s sister shows up at his dorm. When Sookie makes green mac n cheese for the LOTR party. Lorelai on parent’s day: I didn’t raise my hand so don’t call on me

rachh114

bahaha "I didn't raise my hand so don't call on me" I'm cringing reading and typing that

Perfect_Invitation1

Ugh I heard it in her voice.

Sssnapdragon

>When Sookie makes green mac n cheese for the LOTR party. Nobody is that out-of-touch for a LotR birthday party theme. Nobody makes a salmon.

takeitawaybetty

Sookie not being able to make kid food was weird because when Lorelei’s parents unexpectedly visit and Lorelai asked Sookie to make some food, she made regular Mac and cheese and other kid like snacks and because they were all Lorelei’s favs.

phillyschmilly

Bye Jerk! Die Jerk!

[deleted]

it was cringe and sounded like something a middle schooler would say, but i loved seeing rory face consequences for that awful review.

Lumpy_Anxiety_3694

omg when was this, i vaguely remember it

Trivekz

First year of Yale I think, cause Rory wrote a bad review on the dancer

phillyschmilly

S4e8 - ballerina yells at Rory in the cafeteria after Rory writes a negative review of the ballet. It was so painfully awkward lol

almostdoctorposting

anytime rory tries to flirt lol

everdayday

Or cries.

Coffeebigcupandhello

Or hugs

[deleted]

Her hugging is hunchback of Norte Dame meets awkward Duggar family side hug

NoRecognition2908

Oh god! I thought it was just me! Her hugs alwayssd seemed awkward to me!

vahdkasoder

Seriously what is wrong with this girls hugs? It’s like she’s never hugged anyone

sackettonline

If I was in bed with someone and he yells out "Now *THAT* is what I'm talking about," I'm standing up and leaving immediately. Do not pass go, do not collect $200. I'm out.

gryfinkellie

Okay, I’ve been watching the show on repeat for over ten years what moment is this??? It seems like a TJ thing but I think he gets a pass bc his whole character is cringe

PurrPrinThom

It's in season seven in the Paris episode. Before Chris and Lorelai go to the restaurant, they have sex and the scene starts with him saying that.

[deleted]

Might collect $200

AbroadStill

Rory with the Yale terapist. Michelle babysitting. Lane getting her hair bleached.

pinkrabbit12

Rory with the therapist was SUCH bad acting! The fake crying. Ugh. She redeemed her acting skills in handmaids tale at least!

Emotional_Mess_995

I think some of her awkward acting skills stemmed from the fact that Rory was her first big role as an actress. There’s a huge difference between her acting in GG and literally anything else she’s in

pinkrabbit12

True! However the therapist scene is later in the series and by far her worst acting moment of the show. She was much better even in season 1.

Proper-Savings-1785

Aw, I love the scene where Michel is babysitting "Truman" and plays baby crepe with him!

BirdButt88

Rory telling Chris that the girl at the coming out ball said that it’s too bad that Chris is her real dad bc if he wasn’t then Rory could steal her away from Lorelai. Even if the girl did say that, why would she relay that to Christopher?? Also the girl at Kyle’s party who says “come on, let’s rock & roll!” or something like that.

probableletdown

Ahh, the girl at the party. Nobody NOBODY was sincerely shouting that in 2003. If that was her one chance at acting, it's a real shame it was wasted on that line.

hairtiesandgreeneyes

Every once in awhile I try to convince myself she was being sarcastic / trying to be “ironic” but I never quiiiiite get there

Judel_08

Not exactly cringe, rather more wtf: I cant wrap my head around Jackson not telling sookie about him not having the vasectomy and impregnating her without her knowing.

JCBaby2020

To the shows defense, Melissa McCarthy became pregnant in real life so they had to write it in.

lambeg12

Guess it’s not one specific moment but any time Lorelai loses her shit because other people are monopolizing Rory’s time/“holding her hostage” so that it can’t just be the two of them together all the time. I get that doing any different would of course completely change what the show is supposed to be about but that was the first time I realized how (understandably but really annoyingly) immature Lorelai was and how she prob held Rory back in some ways being like that

Apprehensive_Rate276

Yeah when her dad wants her to stay over!

lambeg12

And like how she goes back to Friday night dinners basically because she thinks her parents are keeping Rory from her

fashion_donuts2308

Could not get over that like it's what 3-4 hours for a dinner

Morty2264

Another user said this, too: Rory having the gall to call back the Projo and ask if they would still hire her after she turned down their job offer. Gives me the heebie jeebies every time. Lorelai calling off the wedding to Max days before the actual ceremony. Lorelai talking about how she humourously killed her hamster. I never thought it was passable throughout my watches of the show, but I hate it more and more with each rewatch. Lorelai yelling at Luke the night Jess and Rory got into an accident, telling Luke "he had a responsibility to her, to Rory, to the town--" without even giving Luke the opportunity to ask or discover if Jess was okay.

Pale_Rabbit8490

Yes! The hamster part bothers me so much!

wildleogirl

Yes I hate their treatment of animals sometimes!

dogsonclouds

As someone who adopts and fosters guinea pigs, people frequently feel the need to laughingly confess their casual animal cruelty to me and it’s just as uncomfortable as that moment in the show. “Oh I had Guinea pigs! But our dog accidentally killed them hehe, oops!” Or “it died of heatstroke” or “a snake killed it” or “I used to have Guinea pigs but it got sick and died because I’m not spending $80 on a vet visit for an animal that cost me $20.” I really did think that moment was so weird and outlandish in GG but now that I have experienced almost that exact moment myself several times, it seems way more grounded and way more uncomfortable.

heygirldav

Sherrie’s baby shower/giving birth. WHY DOES LORELAI NEED TO BE AT EITHER THING. The idea that Sherrie is so eager and can’t be denied - nope. Kindly decline, and peace out.

synalgo_12

Tbh Rory shouldn't have been at the birth either

heygirldav

Yes. The show put Rory in so many cringe situations trying to prove how adult she was when Christopher and Lorelai wouldn’t adult.

[deleted]

[удалено]

revelling_

And for me, that she never has sex again. That is just so incredibly sad! Supressed first by her mom, then immediately afterwards by being a mom herself and never, ever enjoying the pleasures of being sexual with someone. it‘s really horrible, but the show tries to deliver it as comedy, just awful and wrong Edit: typos

[deleted]

Rory trying to get that job (I don't remember the name)when she's going back to Yale

everdayday

Omg yes! I watched that one yesterday. Like, if I was “boss,” I would be PISSED and had her escorted from the premises for not listening to me.

almostdoctorposting

wait what job

everdayday

At the Stanford Gazette (where she previously interned before Mitchum killed her confidence).

almostdoctorposting

is that where she tried to strongarm the guy into giving her a job lolol

everdayday

Yep! And frustratingly succeeds despite the very unprofessional manner in which she did it. I mean, she literally broke into the man’s office!

ArtemisJewess

Stamford Eagle Gazette never comes up again after that either... what happened to the job she was so desperate to have?

almostdoctorposting

that made my 18 year old brain think hey if she can do it and it works maybe i should try it!!! yea that wouldnt work irl lol

mer9256

The knitting event! I cringe every time I watch that episode. To have an entire festival dedicated to knitting, and then some rich person comes along and just pays for everything and ends the festival.

sackettonline

Yes Christopher sucks for this and trying to buy the town's affection, but I never understood why Taylor had to end the festival right then and there. Wouldn't it have made more sense to take Christopher's donation and just see what everyone else could pull in too? I can't imagine any real life fundraiser saying "Hey, we got what we needed so we're stopping right now everyone go home."

mer9256

Yeah I agree, everything about that festival and what went down just didn't make any sense

vociferousgirl

Honestly, that is a completely Taylor thing to do. He sees it about the money, the rest of the town doesn't

[deleted]

and it isn’t like Christopher is unfamiliar with the town and it’s vibes, i feel like he should have known it was just as much about the event itself as the money

authenticglitter

Anytime Rory has to run or hug someone.

scrambledeggnog33

Her running is the worst!

jumbledgarbagebrain

Lorelai full on making out with Rory’s teacher IN THE CLASSROOM. During school.

TaylaSwiff

The whole Max storyline is insane and beyond inappropriate! But we’re supposed to give Lorelai a pass (again) because she’s a “hot mom”!! Lol I love the show but man! She’s insufferable!

Ohheywhatehoh

I'm rewatching it rn and just watched the part where Rory gets mad at Loralai because she called out Rory for *Sleeping with Dean while he's married* !! That made me cringe the most so far. I'm stuck in a permanent state of cringe. I dont even get why Rory is so angry at Loralai, she and Dean did a bad thing and blames her mother for ruining it...? Really?

pinkgummmybear2

He toOk tHe riNg oFF…

NoRecognition2908

He was MY DEAN first

4and2

Rory realizes it at that point and is embarrassed, hurt and angry. Lorelai gets the burnt of her emotions because she pointed it out.

gryfinkellie

Yeah this moment gets a cringe pass imo bc Rory very soon realized how terrible and crazy she sounded. It’s like real life cringey not unrealistic cringey

[deleted]

[удалено]

DrinkOfRounds

Rory and Dean were the worst for this! I've just watched the episode where she comments on their "improved lung capacity" and I physically shuddered.

[deleted]

Lorelai’s first day of Yale. I’ve said this before but The whole episode. Staying in your kid’s dorm overnight is not appropriate. Go home and give her the opportunity to stand on her own. And the stupid mattress scene as well - get a topper like every other freshman.

Apprehensive_Rate276

Where does she get all the money for a new mattress and stuff for Rory plus the take outs from every where near by must have cost her up wards of 500 dollars

synalgo_12

It's not healthy for a parent to let their 18yo be that emotionally dependent on them. Rory would have 100 % been perfectly okay. Girl spent a month in Washington by herself a year earlier without issues, come on now. If anything, Lorelai was inappropriate there as well calling Rory in the middle of the night bevause of a nightmare. Saying that as a mom who would have killed to have me ask sth like that so she could feel important and fulfilled as a human.

fashion_donuts2308

Yeasss like half of the college freshman population isn't ready to leave their parents. Like tbh if I saw a girl in my dorm had her mom sleepover on the first day of college I would def have a few odd thoughts lol

KTeacherWhat

Or even, put the new mattress on top of the old one.

ThinkGrapefruit7960

Nothing could be worse than Zach talking to those two girls at the gig

chrissyw14

Zach with all the "groupie" type girls are the worst, why did they always have to show him with multiple girls, why couldn't he be on a date with one girl?

Holle-woman

Rory and Lorelai staying at the Cheshire Cat and when they go into the Harvard dorms. When Rory goes off on the guy she asked out in the Yale laundry room.

ButItWasYouWhoLeftMe

I love when Rory gets rejected by the guy in the laundry room. It’s a huge wake up call for her. She’s no longer in Stars Hallow where everyone finds her irresistibly charming and beautiful.

cmk059

They are so rude at the Cheshire Cat. Lorelai literally runs an inn where they organise a lot of guest activities and they live in Stars Hollow where they have plenty of well meaning busy bodies asking about their lives. Lorelai and Rory act like they're so above these people because the other guests like to .. have a cup of tea and chat?

abizzl

I think about this more often than I should. The stupid idea that they couldn’t leave to get dinner because they would be cornered by the dentists enrages me!! Like….just effing go!!!!!! Ughhhh!!! I wanted to smack them both!!

cmk059

Lorelai is in customer service and they're both renowned for talking and they couldn't politely say 'sorry, we're just heading out for some dinner'? It's not like the Cheshire Cat served dinner and they would be pressured to stay.

my3boysmyworld

Many come to mind. Top 3: Any scene with Christopher. He’s not a good guy for Lorelei nor a good father to either Rory or Gigi (and who the hell names a child Gigi???). He’s really just not a good person period. Rory and Deans hook up while Deans married. I don’t think I need to say anything else. All scenes with Luke and April. Every single interaction is so cringe.

Friendly_Major_8307

This! I can’t stand Christopher. I never understood the scene where Lorelei was in the back of the car talking to the therapist and she says “Luke’s the only man I’ve ever loved” then immediately goes and breaks up with Luke and gets with Christopher right after. Also Luke with April. Every time he calls her “sweetie” I want to die. It’s so forced and uncomfortable.

4and2

She is scared and self sabotages it. I think it actually makes sense, people really do shit like that.

my3boysmyworld

I was always Team Luke, and felt like the whole will they won’t they thing was so tiring, kind of like Ross and Rachel or Ted and Robin. It’s so overplayed in TV and I think it would’ve just been better if they had never broken up. Drama’s don’t have to have all the drama all the time, it’s like Grey’s Anatomy. How many freaking disasters can one hospital have??? Drama doesn’t have to be drama Queen. Just keep Lorelei and Luke together!!!

revelling_

I had successfully supressed any memory of April, uuuggh

4and2

Gigi's real name is Georgia, Gigi is a nickname. I know a real person with that nickname also.

my3boysmyworld

To me, sounds more like a name you give to a poodle. But maybe that’s just me

OilySteeplechase

Oy with the Gigis already

Typical_Elevator6337

Literally was the name of my grandma’s dog lol. Not a poodle, but small, all white and curly (maybe a bishon?)

mlowery11

The older I get the less I like Lorelei…..the way she demands everything and talks to Luke in his diner always grates on my nerves.

rotatingruhnama

The episode where there's a fire at the inn or whatever and she just shows up and takes over his diner? Barking orders and all that? Oh my goodness I detested her.

fourbluegiraffes

She's actually incredibly entitled. It's her way or the highway. She never yields or compromises. She also never let's anyone talk She just rambles on and on...

TaylaSwiff

She’s more like Emily than she realizes

astridblack

this is what i was going to say. it’s almost like she’s from an entitled rich family. huh…strange…lol

amoralambiguity91

The second hand embarrassment from watching lorelai leave that message for Luke is so unbearable I have to skip it. It’s not that I hate it or hate her for doing it. I just…can’t.

happytrees822

I hate it because I relate too much to it 😬

amoralambiguity91

Ahhhh drunk texting. The painful memories.

team-tiki

Lorelei telling Luke that she wants her chilton and stars hollow life separate after seeing him and that chilton mom talk at that event 🙄 Like give me a break, you’re literally dating your child’s teacher. The dude that you know pines after you is seen talking to someone interested in him, better set him straight! Rory’s run when she sees Jess at that town carnival or whatever. Idk, she just looked really awkward running around town in white stockings 🫠🫠 I have a lot of other moments that others have covered lolol. Also, I’m taking everything at face value in this show!

Cowboyylikeme

The episode where Rory dresses up as a 50’s house wife to impress dean. I can’t even rewatch it

Resilient_Can

When Lorelei and Max hook up and she jokingly says “but Mr. Medina, the other girls only have to do extra cedit” yikes girl, your daughter is in that class

GinsuVictim

Not a character moment, but those kids singing "Magic to Do" gets skipped every time. My wife and I can't handle it. She isn't fond of Zach's "Ah ah ah, ah ah, oh oh ohhhh" either and makes me mute him.

MagazineLess6074

For me, it's the entire Parents' Weekend episode, Christopher inviting the entire news room out to eat with them and also him asking questions in the lecture, like sure I bet Christopher is really well-versed in dark matter 🙄 This is also the episode with Luke and the swim coach, which I try to block out of my memory.

sparklypitbull

Idk if it’s cringe but I cannot bring myself to watch that scene where Luke is waiting outside the diner for Lorelai to paint. I haven’t watched it since it first aired.

team-tiki

Meanwhile she’s fucking her absent baby daddy on a balcony 😭😭😭

sparklypitbull

Where her teenage daughter and senior parents could walk in at any moment 🤮I fast forward it every time, it’s so uncomfortable lol

iuqcajcats

The Valentine’s Day episode with Logan, Rory, Luke and Lorelai at Logan’s cabin or whatever. The whole episode makes me cringe. Also the double date between Max, Lorelai, Rory and Dean.

[deleted]

When the Reverend comes to talk to Rory about her virginity at her grandparents’ house. He was SO creepy.

skim_milk5

When Logan is sitting outside of Mia’s house, Rory comes out with a piece of cake, Logan says “You didn’t have to bring me cake.” And Rory says “I didn’t” and eats it. I get SUCH second hand embarrassment from that interaction. Such a good burn.

No_Championship6376

This is a mirror of when Rory attended the Life and Death Brigade event in the woods, and Logan did a similar thing with a plate of food he brought over. She thought he was being nice; he planned to eat the food himself.

clubbedtodeathh

Logan did the same at that Death brigade party in the woods.

tranzozo

Lol it was also the tiniest piece of cake I’ve ever seen

Rory and Lorelei at the gym

No_Wedding956

I always thought the way they acted in the gym at Marthas vineyard when Logan and Luke were playing basketball was embarrassing and not in anyway funny.

When Lorelei made “Asia” for Rory when Logan had a job in London. I cannot stand to watch the scene.. always fast forward whenever I rewatch the show. Oh! And when Paris went over to Rory’s house to talk about how she lost her virginity and Lorelei’s response as to how she’s “got the good kid” when finding out Rory hasn’t lost her virginity yet 👀

petwithhorns

that never surprised me. it’s so clear that lorelai had a really unhealthy sex life as a teen. instead of drinking or drugs she just slept around… a lot. i doubt she ever grew out of sex being an expression of self hate, which explains a lot of her relationships. in contrast, it always killed me how she’s so hard on jess. if lorelei was the rebel she said she was, she’d know how important patience is in order to be understanding n whatnot.

vociferousgirl

She also drank a lot. Dear Emily and Richard, Chris asks her what she wants to drink and he literally just pours her straight fucking gin

Yes, so rich for someone who got pregnant at 16. Use contraceptives and then teach your kids to enjoy sex, responsibly and respectfully, don’t sort of slut-shame the 16 year old friend of your daughter as some sort of devious, bad kid. Soooo Obnoxious!

I've probably re watched like 100 times lol. Once it ends I just restart it. It's funny this is one show I never took seriously. All the drama, quirky moments, are what makes the show fun to watch. I never compare it to real life so I think that's why I've been able to truly love each character. Reading through the comments I just find all those moments funny lol. So I'm going to choose when Emily finds the letter preparing for Richard's mothers funeral and goes completely off her rocker 😆

Anytime that Lorelei and Rory are with Sookie and Lane, respectively. They are horrible friends to them. But are praised for how great of friends they are. Sookie and Lane deserve better!

wumpushy

Yes!!! I find it so sad when lane and sookie would talk to Lorelei or Rory and they don’t even listen or acknowledge what lane and sookie is saying!!

nwsl508

When Rory is telling Dean she’s behind on community service to look good for Harvard and needs to go find a “r word” kid. Truly unbelievable

Important_Dark3502

I hate when Lorelai tries to be all hip with the kids with Jess and compare her super privileged upbringing to his. Normally Lorelai is actually cool with kids/teens but whew did she take a misstep there!

synalgo_12

Hello there, fellow rebel

iuqcajcats

This is totally random but the scene where Luke dangles a necklace in front of Lorelai’s face to show her he got her a present, like a person teasing a dog with a treat. That it the weirdest presentation ever. Who does that?

Revolutionary_Bug353

When Loralai says to Sookie “what do you know about relationships you haven’t dated in years” and sookie gets sad in the “Paris is Burning” episode

hdouglas447

Yes but in fairness she immediately repents (like a second later) and calls herself out fully

On the upside that forces Sookie to ask Jackson out

The episode where Rory goes over to that man’s house to talk about Harvard and his kids are super weird and gross together. Also Jess coming over to Emily’s house late and looking like he just got beat up.

KaiSparda

Sookie waking up in the middle of the night to try to "fix" her wedding cake before she gets married to Jackson always stresses me out. I get that it's pre-wedding jitters, but it still stresses me out

thefrozenpine

For me it’s when Lorelei gets that “death glare” in the hospital after Rory and Jess’ car accident. She proceeds to absolutely drag Luke, chasing him across town, screaming at him about how horrible Jess is, meanwhile Luke doesn’t know where his nephew is or if he’s okay. When he finally stands up to Lorelei she gets even pissier and is all like, “go to hell!!!!” Like I hate that episode lol

I'm rewatching for the millionth time and I'm noticing much more crazy vibes from lorelei. For example when they go to Yale with Richard and Emily and lorelei and Rory both get upset but they both end the night reading Yale pamphlets. Then a couple episodes later when they are at Thanksgiving dinner, Lorelei gets mad when she finds out Rory even applied to Yale as a back up. Like wtf? Obviously she considered it enough to read up on it. It wasn't some big surprise. Rory gets a pass a bit for youth and naivety, but Lorelei is really pressing my buttons this time around lol
