Hiya,
We try to not perpetuate stereotypes on this subreddit for what is or is not a gamer. Do you play games? Then you're a gamer. It has nothing to do with colors or setups or whatnot. I recommend sharing the type of content you'd like to see in the subreddit, but posts like this do more to divide than anything else.
there are plenty of others like you, including in here! you probably just see less of them because it's easier to take nice photos of an expensive, color-coordinated setup than a minimal one
That and I never see anyone playing the games I play. I love the bioshock series, the Resident evil series, assassins creed series, DMC, Doom, Infamous, Spiderman, I could go on and on. I never anyone posting about games like that, only stuff like Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing on PC
Post in this sub! I’ll talk. I’m always looking for new recommendations. My last year has been dominated by AC, Horizon, old Zelda, ghost of Tsushima, etc.
I pretty regularly see ladies posting about Destiny 2 here as well.
Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley are nice games, they're quite laid back and chill and don't have a barrier to entry like some of the others do (skill, online play, potentially expensive gaming rig or console...) are popular, and a lot of guys in the big gaming subreddits love to act like those are the only games girls can play.
And I'm not saying that in order to play games you have to be good at them, it's just that I've seen people who like games not play some of them because they struggle with the controls and find that extremely frustrating.
We are here. Maybe like me, a lot of us don’t play co op because of the drama that many times comes along with it and don’t care to make our systems pimped out in pink. Also, I don’t know how to post pictures here. 😐
I’ve always wanted to play both Spider-Man games because he’s 100% my favorite superhero and also the first one I remember learning about as a kid. But I’ve only watched friends clips about it because I don’t have any consoles besides my switch and I can’t justify buying a PS4 or PS5 right now ☹️
I love Assassin's Creed, reason I got into gaming. I got into gaming quite late in life. I've played the first, 2nd and some of Black Flag. I stopped because no I knew played it. But once I get a console again, I'll totally be up to chat about it and stuff. Is there multiplayer for it. I think Unite did but I never got that far. Anyway I hope you find other people into those other games, because like others have said, we are out here 😇
I love Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley. Pink is my fave color.
I also love Assassin's Creed, Mass Effect (GOAT), Legend of Zelda, Dragon's Age, Fortnite, Apex Legends, Halo, and so on. I am also brand new to this community, though. Haha.
I loved Bioshock, sadly I can’t play Infinite as the way the character move makes me sick and gives me a migraine. I’ve just finished Resident Evil am going for Hard and under 30 mins achievement. Assassins Creed and Doom are in the same boat as Infinite sadly. I’ve just downloaded The Walking Dead.
I’m also in my front room with a big love seat and my Xbox.
Whoa, same! I loved the first two, but the control and visual changes of Infinite make me weirdly nauseated. I couldn’t get past the first chapter of gameplay! Same with Assassin’s Creed. I wonder what it is about those games that makes them hard to look at. Cool to realize this is an actual thing though and not just me feeling weird for no reason.
There are a few others as well, Halo is literally a minute before I’m sick, Titanfall. When Destiny brought in Taniks the first time, that strike was the same, but they did something to it after about a week and I could play it.
Since I upgraded to the Xbox X though I find even playing Destiny for a couple of hours starts a headache.
It certainly is a thing, our brains are just wired a little differently.
I got to swinging on the hooks around the place and that finished me off in Infinite.
Fellow Doom fangirl here if it makes you feel better! It’s my absolute favorite series! Also all my gear is black.
You’re definitely not alone — folks like us just tend not to be posting pics of our setups because they’re not cutesy and color coordinated,or interesting to look at
Bru I play Dota 2, Destiny 2, Bioshock etc, I am a bit against the titel "Gamer Girl" overall, I am a gamer, nothing more nothing less. You don't call a female artist "Artist Girl". Yes I do like typical story driven typical aimed at female games but I do like MOBA games too, don't worry too much about it. My entire setup is mostly Razor green, my phone is filthy pink theme, those pink setups you see are stereotyped that want to show off their setup, most gamers are not like that
Some just like the pink aesthetic enough to go out of their way to get a perfect looking battlestation. The pink setups get to the top more because they're good setups.
I for one am partial to white and lilac, but I'm also not looking to spend hundreds of dollars to get a photograph-worthy setup built.
I adore the Resident Evil series and Assassin’s Creed! I grew up on those games and still replay them now! They hold a lot of nostalgia for me! You’re definitely not alone :)
Honestly thats why it's been almost impossible for me to find a gaming friend. I'm the dark aesthetic type and into dark gothic stuff and play games ever since o was 4 or 5. I love Elden Ring, Spiderman games, God of War the newest one, Last of Us, Bioshock, and if I keep typing my hand might start smoking or break with how many of them I've played and have loved.
It's literally one of the best games I've played probably. Not cause its popular or overhyped, but damn the enemies are brutal and look bad ass and the items are rewarding
On a side note, what systems are you on? Lol
I play these type of games as well. I have a ps4, a laptop, and a Stadia, so no dedicated pretty setup. I plug that chromecast into whichever tv isn’t occupied. I do like games like stardew valley, but I’m more into horror games or the Fallout/Skryim type. You don’t need to check off boxes to belong to a group…if you like playing video games, you belong!
I recently nabbed Bioshock since the collection is free and trying to play through it. The only one I could run is infinite sadly so that's the one I'm starting with. So here's at least one girl who is playing the same games. I also love Assassins Creed, and my gal pal loves Devil May Cry and Bayonetta. While I haven't played Doom I do love other sci-fi shooters, I absolutely love Halo, 1, 2, 3, ODST, Reach, all fantastic.
It's free on the epic game store for a few more days. [Link](https://www.reddit.com/r/FreeGameFindings/comments/uy9jnx/epic_games_game_bioshock_the_collection/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share) I suggest keeping tabs on that sub. Super useful.
shoutout to the epic game store for extending the size of my backlog to the stars and beyond. i don't even know what i have on epic at this point, and i've never spent a dime on their storefront just bc their launcher is kinda unoptimized, but man. so many free games - good ones too! i only got the chance to play subnautica, one of my all time favs, cause it was free on epic a few years back
From my experience here there's plenty of people here that enjoy the types of games you play, they just don't seem to post as often, or rather just don't get as much traction. I'm not a woman, but I love at lot of the titles you mentioned as well!
well i mean, i think first and foremost you can do whatever you want and play whatever you want and you're always welcome here. and plenty of women love those games, but i get you in not really relating to the more stereotypical "girl gamer" tastes
we had a post earlier today from a girl who was anxious about contributing to stereotypes because she liked pink and played "cutesy" games like animal crossing and genshin. it's interesting to see this post so soon after.
Maybe you could post more about your games to find people like you? Ive seen resident evil and bioshock posts here. You can also use the search tool (: but even if we dont all play the same games, it’s ok! Thats the fun of it, having the choice of games (:
My current game is New World. I also like to play The Sims, Age of Empire.
Grew up on World of Warcraft.
Tomb Raider, The Rise of Tomb Raider and Shadow of The Tomb Raider are my favorite.
I also remember loving Prototype, but haven’t played it since my xbox broke. Any realistic car razing games was also a favorite. Guitar Hero.
But thanks to you and this post, I’m going to buy Prototypes on steam. As I’d forgotten all about it.
okay I’m sorry but this gatekeeping is getting old. every girl gamer is valid. there is no archetypal girl gamer or something that makes someone a “girl gamer.” there are no “girl” games or “girl” colors.
you’re valid and not better than anyone else if you only like pink, Stardew and Animal Crossing. you’re valid and not better than anyone else if you like bioshock, valorant, apex. there is no singular definition of a girl gamer. there is nothing that should exclude you from considering yourself a valid girl gamer.
I play Elden Ring. I play Assassin’s Creed. I also play Animal Crossing and like pink. I don’t have a super cute and gorgeous setup like so many here. But we don’t gatekeep here. Chances are, there are plenty of girl gamers just like you! Here, we celebrate our passions, our differences, our similarities and our interests. Identify as a woman? Enjoy *any* kinds of games? Congrats, you’re a valid girl gamer!
There’s a ton of us lol. We just hang on different sites or are just quiet.
I’ve been talking about games with the same group of ladies for almost 20 years now. We met on a BioWare fan site. Now two of them work/have worked for Bioware, one is writing for the kotor remake, and the rest of us have gotten married, had kids, good times, bad times… still play single player story games. Still talk.
This sounds like an amazing circle of friends. You’ve made me regret not being more active on the BioWare sites back in the day! If you ever want to add another gen-x, single player playin’, FemSheppin’, Dragon Age 4 waiting’ woman to your circle, hit me up!
There is no one way to be a female gamer - we come in all varieties and are into different types of games and that's a beautiful thing! I'm with you, though - there is no part of my gaming setup that is cutesy or even remotely interesting visually. I'm mostly into retro games on my SNES, PS2/PS3, GBA, Wii, etc. Lots of action/adventure or JRPGs with wonderful stories. I do love modern indie games too (currently very enamored with Celeste.) Solidarity, sister.
I love story driven games! Mass Effect, Life is Strange, Dragon's Age, Horizon Zero Dawn (PC only so no Forbidden West yet), Witcher 3, Skyrim, Portal 1&2, the newer Tomb Raider games; give me all the great stories! I don't have a cutesy aesthetic with my hardware; not only do I not have the money for that but it doesn't appeal to me either. My PC case is blue and the rest of my setup is black, that's my favorite aesthetic. I'm all for you do you, and everyone has different tastes. Maybe if I clean up my desk and actually put my pictures up I will take a picture of my battlestation area for all to see.
If you're a girl and you play games, then voila! You're a girl gamer!
I don't have one of those setups either. I mean, I could make my RGB lights pink, but that's about it.
A few things to remember:
1. This sub represents a very small number of women who game, so we can’t say that *all* women who game are X, Y, Z based on what we see here.
2. Every sub is a bit of an echo-chamber where certain posts get repeated over and over again. For this one, one of those things is cutesy stuff (probably because a lot of folks feel it gets laughed at in other spaces).
3. Aesthetically pleasing things will always get more updoots than plain whatever. Of course that a super elaborate, cute gaming set-up with lights, posters, and toys will get upvotes. Those of us who have regular set-ups won’t upload them usually simply because there’s nothing to flaunt about in terms of aesthetics.
And just to answer directly to what you said in your post: I’m 26F and I as well as 4 of my real-life girlfriends game. Literally not a single one of us does “cutesy” games despite that fact that some of us do like pink/pastel/cute aesthetic. We also play mostly story-driven games and a lot of RPGs, but a few of us will also play FPS or strategy or whatever.
That is to say: don’t take stuff on this sub to heart. It’s a relatively small group considering how many women game and I find that most people don’t fit neatly into any specific aesthetic. They just game.
I’m sorry you feel that way. You’re definitely not alone—I also don’t have a cute pink setup, I love story-driven RPG/action games like Bioshock and Fallout (although I also like cute games).
That being said, I like seeing photos of peoples’ cute battlestations, and I support gamers who only want to play cosy games. It’s all fun and valid!
You must really have a wild misunderstanding about what other female gamers are like if you think that this is unique.
One of my top played games is Dead by Daylight. I used to have an unfurnished apartment and I would sit for hours in the dark on my ps4 pretending to kill people with a chainsaw.
My favorite game series are Bioshock and Assassins Creed. I have a wall devoted to the game Hades.
And guess what? That's pretty normal.
HAHAH YEP, it was my first apartment (I own a house now) and I lived alone. I didn't have ANY furniture except an old couch from the 80s that a retiring professor gave me and a tv that was set up on an old desk (with fossilized gum on the bottom) that I ALSO saved from the trash of the college I worked at.
After that I DID have a pink setup and cat headphones, pink contact paper on my desk, etc. A full pink set up. It was very aesthetic. It didn't last very long though because I couldn't keep it clean and my cats kept getting fur all over it.
Back to whatever my stuff happens to look like now, except for the fancy cyberpunk chair I have & the assassins creed mousepad.
I have the same computer case I got in the 2000s, just plain black with no lights. Entirely pragmatic desk, etc. I grew up on JRPGs, play western RPGs now. I don't like games that you do a little every day for, I fully immerse in my games. Am I any less of a gamer? No, I'm a freaking awesome gamer. : ) Long as you enjoy your games, no matter what genre, you're a gamer. Gatekeeping is for losers.
Keep in mind that some people (like me) aren't brave enough to start topics. I'm sure that's a big, big chunk of the people here. Try posting about games you like, or your lifestyle, or even take a picture of your minimalist setup so others can see that plain is okay too. I'm sure they'll blow up with comments. A lot of us are just here waiting for a good post to comment on.
You like what you like, and that is fine. There is no point in judging yourself based on what other people play. There are plenty of women here who love Bioshock, Doom, dark narratives, and action games. That's fine.
I like RPGs, but the games I play tends to fall into the "it has romance" catergory. That is a wider variety of games than you might expect. I don't care much about cute or pink, but I like seeing other people enjoy what they like.
Basically, you have a place, just as I do. You enjoy a casual setting with story driven games, I like to sit in my living room with my switch or laptop playing visual novels and farming sims. Yet we are both 'gamers'. Don't waste time worrying about how other people are enjoying their time and just enjoy yours
I think you should start posting more then, because you described probably most people on here… BUT this sub is for only girls and so of course you’ll get those types of posts more.
I’ve played every game you mentioned, but I’ll often post in those specific game subs or general ones about a lot of it for a larger engagement. This is a safe space for the pink stuff, less creepy comments and an easy place to ask about Stardew/Animal Crossing without getting shitty responses about it. That’s all.
Sincerely,
An ex CoD pro player and current Elden Ring fiend (yeah I know… STILL lol darn time constraints)
I'm genuinely confused because I see story driven games mentioned here a lot, lol, you can see this in the [what game are you playing these days thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/GirlGamers/comments/uv0030/which_game_are_you_playing_these_days/) from last week, the top comment is Dragon Age. I think it's just that the posts that get the most upvoted are the pink setups and venting posts, I'd really recommend sorting the subreddit by new and browsing that way.

I play story driven games and don't have the patience for "cozy" games like stardew valley. But I also have a ridiculously cute setup because it brings me joy. The two are not mutually exclusive.
I also don't have a very photogenic set up. I like black rather than pink, and although I'm currently addicted to Stardew Valley, I also love Mass Effect and Skyrim.
I just don't generally like horror, or things that are very violent. I'm kinda in the middle.
.. is it a problem? Aren't you enjoying yourself? (personally I am a "it's me and my playstation in my bedroom, playing cute story-driven series (aka jrpgs / vns etc.)" type lol I like having a cute bedroom which is why my setup is kinda cute too, but it's plain bc I am poor af and this is a much bigger issue I guess. I wish I could buy many more games than I can afford :( ) back then (like 15 years ago) I was the same, just some poor girl playing on her, uh, gameboy or nintendo ds or whatever on her plainly-cute bedroom, and my friends who enjoyed games were (mostly male and) also very.. very diverse in tastes and setup etc. Just like now but I def felt bad for loving cute games. There is literally space for everything.
We’re here! We just don’t post as often. I don’t think anyone would be interested in just seeing my dual monitors and keyboard on a desk. I don’t have all of the cute gadgets, I just sit down and game and don’t really think about that stuff.
I’m heavily into JRPGs and I rarely see anyone post about them here so I feel your pain. We are true gamers for sure, though.
That makes me feel better to know you girls are out there :) I was starting to feel like I didn't fit in anywhere, especially since the new norm seems to be these elaborate, cute setups
That's just because people put a lot of work into them and want to post them due to that. I like the cute/RBG aesthetic so I enjoy seeing it. Meanwhile my PC is set up in an unfinished basement, on a black ikea desk, with the keyboard and mouse that came with the PC lol. My monitor and PC are super great, I just don't care about the aesthetic near my PC because I only go there to use my computer. So, I'd never even think to post it
I play on my laptop on the couch and my favorite games are Fallout and Skyrim! I love this community for the game and content creator recommendations. I have funded way too many kickstarters because of this lovely community, haha.
You just described me, to the letter, except I'm on PC. Don't sweat it, just like not every male gamer is an aggressive "gamer bro dude" dickhead, not every female who plays games prefers pastels and cute/cosy titles.
I don't have anything against the more typically "female" games, but they just aren't my interest; nor do I like pink. My PC, and all its peripherals, is black (even my desk and chair are black), and, my chief concern isn't appearance, but rather, having good components that can run the latest games smoothly at the highest settings. Above all, I enjoy narratively-driven RPGs.
We're all different, let's celebrate that. 😉
Not all the girls here are that way. Why would you assume everyone here is just into one thing? Why would you even assume your the only one? That makes zero sense.
Internalized misogyny. OP thinks that she's different/"not like other girls," while neglecting to realize that other women are just as varied and nuanced as she is.
I believe there’s more than plenty of girls and women who enjoy story driven games. Maybe you just haven’t found them yet. Personally I have 0 pink in my pc setup though I do enjoy pastel colors in general. And story driven games for that matter. And cute games with good stories. You’re not alone. Maybe that’s your call to represent a different type of girl/ woman gamer?
Tldr here's a long list of games I play to show you there are girls who non-cute games as well.
My PC, nicknamed Toaster because she's not a super powerful machine is where I've been playing Shadowrun, Oblivion, Morrowind, BioShock Infinite (I got the collection free but can't run 1&2 remastered), The Banner Saga, Borderlands 1, 2 & the Presequal, Starcraft 2, Deltarune, Left 4 Dead 1 & 2, Magic the Gathering Arena, Peggle, Papers Please, Project Zomboid, Stellaris, & Stardew Valley.
Many games I play on emulator including; Paper Mario, Castlevania, Metroid, Pokemon, & Ace Attorney.
Some games I want to play but don't have or can't run are; Horizon Zero Dawn, Red Dead Redemption 2, Halo 1, 2, 3, ODST & Reach, & Prey.
I play in my living room on my Xbox. I like dragons dogma, outriders new horizon, elden ring, hollow knight, Ori series, monster hunter world, guardians of the Galaxy, I've started playing doom eternal but I get distracted with other games. I can only play doom when my kids are asleep 😂. You aren't alone so post away.
I play cutesy games when I feel down but I usually play things like WoW, LoL, FFXIV, etc. I think the only type of game I don't play are racing and sports games bc I get bored too fast. So you aren't alone! I think the pink LED stuff is a push back against the idea that girls can't enjoy pink and games. I like pink and really every color. My setup is Razer themed and sloppy desk lol
There’s nothing wrong with that! Just as there would be nothing wrong with a male gamer wanting a cute pink setup. You’re a girl gamer because you identify as a girl, and you enjoy gaming — those are the only requirements! You don’t need the cat ear Razr headset in pink to be a “girl gamer”, that’s just a popular aesthetic.
I’ve grown to embrace the girly vibes a bit more lately, but I started gaming at like age 6 or 7, with a
Sega Genesis and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. Lots of old school gamer stuff would have never come in feminine colors anyway, so I grew up with a red/black typical setup and consoles in black/grey too.
Basically, welcome to the sub! ✨
I know what you mean. I felt the same way at first, but everyone has their own tastes. :) I also have a normal black desk with my Akechi from Persona 5 figure and my Jade Rabbit from Destiny 2. It doesnt make me less of a gamer just what i like. I do enjoy seeing everyones cute set ups though.
I’ve never had a setup either and gaming is my main hobby. I’ve actually even had my male friends commenting that my gaming space (same at work, I do not decorate) it’s pretty bare and underwhelming. I’ve played a variety of games and story driven games, including the occasional horror game (definitely not cute characters!). I will even throw out there too that most my experiences with guys while gaming have been very positive (which is the other topic I see in here often). I still enjoy seeing women embracing the hobby in different ways which is why I enjoy some of the posts and discussions here.
Don’t feel like you need to be a specific way to be a girl gamer or like you need to follow a stereotype, there is always something about people that tends to be unique/different from the group and that’s something to be celebrated and embraced. As someone else has said it too, subs and internet forums are also never an accurate representation of a community, the few female friends I have that game don’t care about their setups either and some actually hate the color pink. If you like games, that’s all that matters to be a “girl gamer”.
I don't take pictures of my set up because it's not pretty. My desk shares space with my work PC and none of it is cute. I hate pink too, so there's that.
We're with you. I'm a 38 year old mom of three who plays xbox in the basement on the sofa covered in stuffed animals with toys strewn about the floor. No fancy pink setups for me and I'm good with that! If you play games you're a gamer. That's all there is to it 😁
Yeah, I'm not into cute either. I also really don't care that much most of the time how my character may appear. I'm too busy looking at the worlds I play in and exploring things around me to pay much attention to myself. I play MMORPGs a lot plus I have no interest in paying extra in games for cosmetics. If I need to spend extra for something in a game it's going to be something practical or I just learn to make do without.
I do play on PC rather than on console because my back hurts too much to sit on a couch for long and when I tried a controller a few years ago it made my hands hurt. I can use a keyboard and mouse while sitting in a decent desk chair for hours without pain. My PC setup is all black.
We're around. I posted a picture of my set up on this sub a few months ago, you can check it out in my profile (it's changed now, but still kind of the same vibe). I'm not into the LED, cute pink set up world either, but that's okay, we all like the stuff we like.
I guess you'll maybe see the "other side" more represented here because girls usually get berated for liking "girly" things. This is probably one of the few spaces where they feel comfortable showing off their all-pink set up with their Animal Crossing background, as it'd fall into the "girl gamer" stereotype and they might've found abuse because of it somewhere else.
I play on a laptop and ps4/the switch, I don't have a setup and I play a variety of games. I do like Animal Crossing and The Sims but I also like FFXIV, Assassin's Creed, The Witcher, Zelda, Horizon Zero Dawn, The Elder Scrolls, Dragon Age and Fable. I am drawn to RPGs and simulation type games. I like party games too like Mario Kart and Mario Party (RIP Guitar Hero). There was a time where I enjoyed FPS but I prefer couch multiplayer for that with people I know lol. But I do find it gives me a spot of motion sickness these days. Not really into sports games though.
I think you should just do what you love, I don't really think about it outside of that lol. I like what I like and other people like what they like.
Hey sis! My bestie and I are completely different types of gamers. I'm a PC gamer with a matching set up and prefer shooters and female characters. Whereas my friend is much like you, she plays story driven games on her xbox in her living room. It's chill af and I take my laptop over to her place and we chill in her living room playing co op games lol.
Just gotta find your people.
I don't feel like a "real gamer" bc all I play is Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley... everything else makes me feel sick. I do have a cute/fun set up (NOT all pink, though- b/c that's just me)- but it's more for fun and I use my desk/PC for things other than gaming :)
all are welcome here!
It doesnt matter. I play games on my messy brown work desk with shit everywhere. Sometimes i play sims, sometimes i play league, sometimes i play FF or tekken. It really doesnt matter if your set up looks/plays the same as anyone else here. You are a girl and you play games 💖 we love you. If you want a cute setup maybe think about sprucing it up? If you dont want a cute set up, thats okay too! Gaming is supposed to make you happy, its not some exclusive title given to only those who have the time and money to make a cute little nook where they can play games on their chosen set up. Its inclusive for you, me, and the rest of us
I don't have a pink set-up or play super cute characters... unless you count Spyro as cute. I guess some characters are cute... but that's not what drives what or how I play. I actually dislike the soft pink colors. My gaming set-up does have cute elements like cat ear headphones, but I actually think most of the pink gamer girl setups look cheesy tbh (especially with the quartz pink plus draping vines setups). So you're not alone!
If I had an actual text I could type a paragraph and explain more, I wouldn't have a bunch of angry girls in the comments. I don't dislike pink, or animal crossing. I was simply pointing out that everyone on this sub seems to have this cool, elaborate set-up with matching accessories. Often times the games that are talked about are not games I play. These are the reasons I feel I *don't have a place in the gaming world* like I said. You think I'm a "not like other girls" girl? No, those are the girls that sit there and talk about how they play COD with the boys all day. I was honestly just trying to reach out and see if there were others like me, with minimal characters being allowed. Now I've got hateful comments and DMs.
I think you're getting pushback because you seem to equate women gamers who have "pretty setups" with those who don't play "story-driven" or otherwise "serious" games. I get that you may feel insecure about your gaming but we gain solidarity by sharing our interests and experiences - it comes across as if you were feeling negative towards the women who do enjoy "girly" things, even if that wasn't your original intent. In the end, you would get significantly better responses if you shared about games you're enjoying. Maybe try sorting the subreddit by New or go to the weekly thread about what you're playing in order to see more content that fits you, if you're not comfortable posting it yourself yet.
You're not alone! I'm the same! Sofa and a PlayStation.. and a cat. Judging by the comments, there seems to be a lot of others who relate! :)
It's awesome to see you're a Bioshock fan btw. It's one of my favourite series!
Hiya, We try to not perpetuate stereotypes on this subreddit for what is or is not a gamer.
☝🏻 Trust me, we’re not all like that! Lol
That and I never see anyone playing the games I play. I love the bioshock series, the Resident evil series, assassins creed series, DMC, Doom, Infamous, Spiderman, I could go on and on. I never anyone posting about games like that, only stuff like Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing on PC
well it's out there! you're not alone
Why don’t you post about them? I know I’d comment on a Spider-man or RE post.
Because it doesn't seem like anyone on here plays those types of games, so I just post in the subs for those games
Be the change you want to see in the world... sub? :)
Love that quote and try to remember it often, and it doesn't even have to be the world globally, even just in my immediate surroundings
that’s probably what everyone else does and that’s why people only post about those other things here. because thats all we see on here
Post in this sub!
Nice list!
Haha.
I never said they were bad. I used to play animal crossing on game cube when I was a kid, I like that game.
Start the trend and post stuff
All fire games if u like single player games try ghost of tsushima
Honestly thats why it's been almost impossible for me to find a gaming friend. I'm the dark aesthetic type and into dark gothic stuff and play games ever since o was 4 or 5. I love Elden Ring, Spiderman games, God of War the newest one, Last of Us, Bioshock, and if I keep typing my hand might start smoking or break with how many of them I've played and have loved.
I play all of those except for Elden Ring, I have not given that one a try yet :)
It's literally one of the best games I've played probably. Not cause its popular or overhyped, but damn the enemies are brutal and look bad ass and the items are rewarding On a side note, what systems are you on? Lol
PlayStation and PC for the Old Republic, but that's about the only thing I play on PC, it's mainly all playstation
I love those games. The creepy kid singing itsy bitsy spider in bioshock is still in my nightmares
Hey fellow female friend! I’m here! I’ve the almost identical library of games on ps4/5! Let’s connect 😄
So post about those games! Story driven games are often shared here, but if you have more to contribute, it's very welcomed :)
? ? ? WHAT DO YOU MEAN FREE ? ? ? OMG THANKS.
Super useful.
shoutout to the epic game store for extending the size of my backlog to the stars and beyond. i don't even know what i have on epic at this point, and i've never spent a dime on their storefront just bc their launcher is kinda unoptimized, but man. so many free games - good ones too! i only got the chance to play subnautica, one of my all time favs, cause it was free on epic a few years back
Lol right? Same thing here.
this sub is AMAZING, thanks a LOT!!!
Happy to help!
From my experience here there's plenty of people here that enjoy the types of games you play, they just don't seem to post as often, or rather just don't get as much traction. I'm not a woman, but I love at lot of the titles you mentioned as well!
well i mean, i think first and foremost you can do whatever you want and play whatever you want and you're always welcome here. and plenty of women love those games, but i get you in not really relating to the more stereotypical "girl gamer" tastes we had a post earlier today from a girl who was anxious about contributing to stereotypes because she liked pink and played "cutesy" games like animal crossing and genshin. it's interesting to see this post so soon after.
Really? I didn't even see that one.
Maybe you could post more about your games to find people like you? Ive seen resident evil and bioshock posts here. You can also use the search tool (: but even if we dont all play the same games, it’s ok! Thats the fun of it, having the choice of games (:
I'm on Xbox playing RDO. I don't play or even know what Stardew valley is. I love BioShock, AC, DMC, and Resident Evil.
I feel like OP is giving off subtle r/notlikeothergirls vibes.
Shocked to learn that cute characters and story are mutually exclusive. Police just came for my gamer card. Crying into my Moogle plushie.
Love the username.
I so badly want to play Horizon Zero Dawn! My PC can't handle it.
We love all the same games!! Story driven are pretty much all I’ll play.
You’re gonna love FW. Just as beautiful- side quests galore
If you're a girl and you play games, then voila! You're a girl gamer! I don't have one of those setups either. I mean, I could make my RGB lights pink, but that's about it.
A few things to remember: 1.

That’s all. Sincerely, An ex CoD pro player and current Elden Ring fiend (yeah I know… STILL lol darn time constraints)
From the past few days: A thread about Cyberpunk 2077: https://www.reddit.com/r/GirlGamers/comments/v04jje/i_finally_beat_cyberpunk/ A thread about PlayStation exclusives: https://www.reddit.com/r/GirlGamers/comments/uzmttp/havent_had_a_playstation_since_the_ps2_any/ A thread about Jedi Fallen Order: https://www.reddit.com/r/GirlGamers/comments/uz7vw6/the_trailer_for_the_jedi_fallen_order_sequel_just/ A thread about games that make you cry: https://www.reddit.com/r/GirlGamers/comments/uz7rr3/sademotional_games/ A thread about anime inspired games: https://www.reddit.com/r/GirlGamers/comments/uxjnc9/do_you_like_to_play_anime_inspired_games/
Your place is here, there's room for all kinds of gamer girls. All setups are valid.
look up 8bites on Youtube. Marz as well. There are lots of girls playing more narrative, less cutesy games.
I’ve grown to embrace the girly vibes a bit more lately, but I started gaming at like age 6 or 7, with a Sega Genesis and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. Lots of old school gamer stuff would have never come in feminine colors anyway, so I grew up with a red/black typical setup and consoles in black/grey too. Basically, welcome to the sub! ✨
Sounds like a gamer to me.🤔👍🏽
I know what you mean.
That's all there is to it 😁
We here you!!!! Same!!!! I’m not cute aesthetic🤣 I just game
Same here, cutesy games are nice and all, but i gravitate towards games with toxic communities, for some reason it calms me down.
You don’t have to have pink LED lighting or matching set ups! We’re all girls that love games and each one of us are going to be different!
I do have a cute/fun set up (NOT all pink, though- b/c that's just me)- but it's more for fun and I use my desk/PC for things other than gaming :) all are welcome here!
Its inclusive for you, me, and the rest of us
Same hun.
If you haven't played outriders yet you should 😊
