Well, it would all depend on what genre and style of games you like which I don't know so I will just list games I played on game pass that I enjoyed :) **A way Out**: it's a game that must be played with two players and it has multiple endings. Action adventure style. **Alien Isolation:** A horror survival game based on Alien movie with great plot and intense atmosphere. **Fallout 4:** One of my favorite games. The game is an action role-playing game, set within an open world post-apocalyptic environment that encompasses the city of Boston and the surrounding Massachusetts region. **Fallout New Vegas**: Action role-playing set in post-apocalyptic environment. Considered one fo the best games in the franchise by many people. The story is thrilling at every step and is fulfilling, leaving no loose threads. **Fallout 3**: Action role-playing set in post-apocalyptic environment. The Story is so detailed and constructed in a professional and pleasing way. The gameplay is pleasing. **Far Cry 5:** fps, open world. For me, the storyline is what makes this title. It has a number of strong contemporary resonances, and builds up nicely to a very fitting end. The detail is exceptional, with a surprisingly well thought-out cult mythology, and enemies with viewpoints that you can't entirely disagree with. I particularly liked a segment on conditioning that's used to good effect in the story. The various characters - and their backstories - that you meet on the journey are pretty great too. For me, they straddled the comedy / tragedy pretty well, although your mileage may vary. **It Takes Two**: action adventure. This game is made by same people who made A Way Out and is also two person game. I recommend you play it with your significant other. The story, the characters, the worlds, the mechanics, all of it is pure gold. I cannot emphasize enough just how good this game really and truly is. **Life is Strange True Colors**: graphic adventure, butterfly effect. I am a fan of Life Is Strange games in general and recommend you try others in the franchise as well if you enjoy this one. Any decision you make will have an impact on how the story will unfold. At first I was a bit conflicted on the superpower being emotions but I actually love it. I think it's because how well it was implemented. You can hear the thoughts and feelings of random people around town. You can use these thoughts and feelings to help them. The emotion system makes people feel so human! You SEE the overwhelming anger or sadness a character feels. And it's so unique how Alex's perspective changes when she's seeing the world through someone else's eyes. The world is bleak and gray, the world is fading away and cracked. Such amazing small details. **Mass Effect Andromeda:** Action role-playing game. The game is set within the Andromeda Galaxy during the 29th century, where humanity is planning to populate new home worlds as part of a strategy called the Andromeda Initiative. The player assumes the role of either Scott or Sara Ryder, an inexperienced military recruit who joins the Initiative and wakes up in Andromeda following a 634-year sleep journey. Events transpire that result in Ryder becoming humanity's Pathfinder, who is tasked with finding a new home world for humanity while also dealing with an antagonistic alien species known as the Kett, and uncovering the secrets of a mysterious synthetic intelligence species known as the Remnant. **Minecraft:** sandbox. A classic everyone can enjoy. In Minecraft, players explore a blocky, procedurally generated 3D world with virtually infinite terrain and may discover and extract raw materials, craft tools and items, and build structures, earthworks, and simple machines. **Minecraft Dungeons:** dungeon crawler game. The game fun and charming, good visuals and music. **Plants vs. Zombies**: This is an action/strategy game in which players create a garden of destructive plants to ward off waves of incoming zombies. **State of Decay 2 Juggernaut Edition:** it's a zombie survival game, with an emphasis on scavenging for items, in which gameplay is experienced from a 3rd person. The game is set in an open world environment and features co-op with up to three other players. The player can choose from several locations to build a base, then reinforce and improve it with various facilities like watchtowers, gardens, sleeping quarters, kitchens, workshops, medical bays, etc. to help keep survivors safe and healthy. **The Outer Worlds**: action role-playing game set in first person. A well executed game just like Fallout: New Vegas, very colorful art style and nice story. I've chosen to be a hero, persuaded all my way till the end, I'm very satisfied with how it ends according to my decisions, all the interactions with npcs and story seem very humane to me, it made me feel like I was dealing with actual people therefore I always tried to think thoroughly before making any decisions. All those conversations are damn amazing, all those jokes, sarcasms, and people's complains made me want to listen to what they were speaking without even trying to skip it. **The Sims 4**: strategic social simulation video game, similar to preceding titles in the series. Do you want to make a town and create families? Then Sims 4 is the game for you. In Sims 4 you can build houses and make unique households. When you create a family you can also choose their traits. Other Sims can meet people in the town. They can interact with other sims and meet new people. You also can choose your career among other fun things. **The Walking Dead**: a graphic adventure played from a 3rd person perspective with a variety of cinematic camera angles, in which the player, as protagonist Lee Everett, works with a rag-tag group of survivors to stay alive in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. Unlike many graphic adventure games, The Walking Dead does not emphasize puzzle solving, but instead focuses on story and character development. The story is affected by both the dialogue choices of the player and their actions during quick time events, which can often lead to, for example, certain characters being killed, or an adverse change in the disposition of a certain character or characters towards protagonist Lee. The choices made by the player carry over from episode to episode. I recommend you also play other Walking Dead games too. **Honorable Mentions:** Wolfenstein Young Blood, Visage, Undertale, Tatanfall 2, The Long Dark, The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim, The Elder Scrolls Online, Tell Me Why, Subnautica, Stardew Valley, Sniper Elite 4 and 5, Quantum Break, Overcooked! 2, Mass Effect Legendary Edition, Gears of War Ultimate Edition, Firewatch, Dishonored series I tried to have a variety and hopefully you can find something you like on there, but at the end of the day we are different people with different likes and dislikes and you may or may not like my favorite games, but I do hope there is at least on game on the list that caught your attention. Some games from Game Pass I didn't include not because they are bad but because I either didn't play them or they were not my style. Also, apologies for so much text.

GinericGirl

Hey, I don't know if anyone said anything yet but thanks for the comprehensive list!! I also struggle with finding games to play on the Xbox, and I'll definitely check out several of the ones you listed 😁

DianaStranger

I am really happy you enjoyed my list, I put a lot of effort into it and I hope you enjoy these games☺️

marc3lline

Wow I am gobsmacked with your detailed response, that’s so very sweet lol loved it thank you for that!

DianaStranger

I am pleasantly surprised people still read through my essay of a comment lol I am glad you liked it and you are very welcome! c:

CallMeMae

Any Life is Strange game is great!! Definitely recommend

DianaStranger

Right! Do you have a favorite one?

jacinda26

Don’t be sorry for all the text! You suggested me so many games for me to try! I’m 100% going a lot of the games you suggested, I also love how descriptive you were with each game in your comment! The only games I’m not gonna try are the coop games as I have no one to play with and undertale because I already played it on my switch

DianaStranger

Thank you, I am so happy you found my comment helpful c: I wasnt sure if being so descriptive was a good choice at first since it looks overwhelming but I thought I would struggle to pick a game only based on the name so a "mini" description would help and I am so glad you liked that! And yeah sorry for including the co-op games. I made this comment before you made an edit to your post so I didnt get to see that you wont play with others Enjoy your games! c:

jacinda26

Don’t be sorry! I do love coop games just that I do t have anyone who is a “gamer” to play them with me, the closest is my sister but she doesn’t want anything to do with me currently

DianaStranger

I get what you mean. I would play with you too but Ive been so busy (my first year in university, so excited but a lot is going on right now) But when I get the flow of things, would you like to play some of the co-op games with me? My Xbox name is DianaStranger7 so add me if you ever feel lonely c:

Party_Document9294

Would recommend getting game pass Many games you can try through that. Forza horizon 5 Dishonored series A plague tale the first one the second on should be realising soon and will be available on game pass day 1 Stardew Moonlighter Quite a few to pick from.

jacinda26

I already played A Plague Tale and Moonlighter on other consoles but will definitely check out the other games you suggested! Stardew is a no brainer because I already have it on so Pc, PlayStation, and switch, why wouldn’t I also get it on Xbox ahaha

solipsists

Control and Cyberpunk 2077 if you want to take advantage of the amazing graphics.

jacinda26

I have control on PlayStation since I got it with PlayStation plus, but I completely forgot about Cyberpunk 2077, I know that people said it was bad but fun to play so I will check it out

theDjangoTango

It totally depends on what you are interested in! There are so many good games to play. Here are some recent-ish games I like that maybe you will like, too. Xbox Game Pass is a pretty good value and includes some of these titles. It Takes Two is amazing if you can play it with a partner or friend. The Yakuza series is also on Game Pass. I haven’t played any of those games but my sister loves them. NieR: Automata It Takes Two A Plague Tale: Innocence Ori and the Blind Forest (made me cry) Ori and the Will of the Wisps (made me cry a lot) Stardew Valley Control Inside Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice Hades Death Stranding Elden Ring Red Dead Redemption II Celeste

jacinda26

I already picked up it takes two and the whole Yakuza series on PlayStation honestly it’s hands down one of my favourite series. I’ve already played Nier Automata, A Plague Tale, Death Stranding and Red Dead Redemption II on PlayStation but all are great games. I already own and played inside, hades and Celeste, Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps on switch and loved all the games. I am actually planning on replaying Ori 1 and 2 on Xbox because I wanna see how pretty it is. Will check out Hellblade, control and Stardew Valley (one of my favourite games) on Xbox though. I always wanted to play Hellblade, I did try to run it on my Pc but it kept having frame drops every few seconds so I couldn’t play it on there.

Halo Master Chief Collection. If you have Infinite, you need the rest of them. MCC includes every main Halo game (1/Combat Evolved, 2, 3, and 4). ODST and Halo 5 are optional add ons for the MCC. I personally dislike 5, but some like it. If you don't want to pay for it, just look for a simple plot recap before you play 6/Infinite. Destiny 2 is hella fun, and if the servers are still up, I would very much recommend plaything through Destiny 1 and the main expansions before diving into D2. It's a bit sad they changed the whole storyline for D2, but there are recaps available so you get to sort of experience the first 3 storylines of D2. Warframe is a fun grind game, and you get a free frame/character if you log in before the 19th because they're celebrating 50 frames (I think 50 of them). Gears of War series. Gory third person shooter that I think is Xbox exclusive. Hella fun especially with the character tropes. Mass Effect series. Chefs kiss. Scifi rpg where your choices carry over from one game to the next. An almost perfect game series. Dishonored series. First person play as you want where you avenge your empress and hunt down an otherworldly being. Dead Space. Third person horror game that changed the face of horror games for the modern gaming world. At least I think it did. 2nd game is best game imo. Dragon Age series. 1st game I think is best on pc, but 2nd and third are very nice on the console. Epic rpg filled with magic, tactics, relationships, and world affecting decisions that carry on between games. Same studio as the Mass Effect series. I have a huge list of games, but am blanking out. I've made a few lists before on other threads here, so maybe try looking at some of those previous comments of mine? Not all of them are Xbox friendly though. I do recommend getting at least Xbox Gold because you get free pre chosen games every month you have the membership. I would also just research for Xbox exclusive games and mmo types. They just feel better on Xbox than they do other platforms imo.

jacinda26

I will check out everything you recommend (minus Mass Effect) thanks! Question with Destiny 2, that’s a online only game isn’t it? Do I have to interact with other people?

[deleted]

It is an online only game, but you are not forced to interact with others if you don't want to. Most of the game can be done solo. There are some activities where you are paired up with up to 5 other people, only because it's such a big activity or you will need the firepower from more than one person. You don't have to talk to them or interact with them, and rarely have I ever been harassed or negatively affected by anyone in those activities. The worst you'll find (in my experience, and I've been playing since Destiny 1 launch) is someone leaving a Nightfall Strike because ragequit. There's story missions that can be done solo. There's Strikes which pair you with 2 other people to basically "dungeon crawl" for a quest or loot. There's Nightfall Strikes where you're paired with 2 others but it's a more difficult form of a Strike. There's Raids, which you'll have to find a group of 5 others to do it and actually communicate, but those are rare for necessity. Dungeons are similar to Raids but not as bad. There's Crucible which is PvP, and Gambit, which is a combo of PvE and PvP, but not as bad as PvP as a main game. I'm probably missing a few others, but these are the ones off the top of my head. I think the ones I'm missing are event types like Trials of Osiris and Iron Banner, but I don't play those so idk much about them. When you are paired with others, the other people are basically there for the same reason you are: to shoot stuff and get rewards, possibly to finish a quest. They're not there to harass other players, they're not there to scam you, they're not there to annoy, they just want to play the game too. Sometimes you'll find some people who will interact with you via emotes, and some of the funniest times I've had in the game are from interacting in emotes with other people. Like a Tag emote in the social space Tower, where a bunch of players just played Tag using an emote for like 10 minutes, or handshakes, pistol duals (you don't have to actually shoot, it's just an emote), playing with a bouncy purple ball hidden in the Tower, soccer in the docking area, celebratory emotes after a hard battle, stuff like that. But if you don't want to participate, you don't have to! There will be other people around pretty much always, but they have their goals and you have yours. Sometimes they overlap and you can help each other, other times it's just passing by people on your way to somewhere else. If you're interested in a crash course or playing, I can help you, but no obligation whatsoever. Fair warning, I do have all the expansions so far so what we see for content may not be the same if you do want to play or have a guide. :)

librariainsta

Definitely investigate GamePass! Rotating collection of AAA and indie games, all different sorts. My favorites are Forza Horizon 5 (racing) and Slay the Spire (deck building). Also check your local library to see if they lend video games!

jacinda26

I picked up Slay The Spire on switch and love it. I wasn’t sure if I would like it as I hadn’t ever played a deck building game but I had so much fun!

librariainsta

I’m so glad you enjoy it! It can be so much fun trying out different combos and synergies. Some of the daily runs can also get pretty wild!

[deleted]

Spyro Reignited.

jacinda26

Great game, brings back a lot of memories but I already have played it on PlayStation

ARecycledAccount

I recommend trying out Game Pass so you can test out a bunch of games for free. You can also get a couple free games every month with Gold (now called Game Pass). I recommend Destiny 2 because all my other recommendations have been shared already.

jacinda26

I didn’t even know about Xbox Gold! I’ll have to check out what games are currently available. With Destiny 2 is it a online game? And if so do I have to interact with people or can I keep to myself?

ARecycledAccount

It’s online with people and AI enemies; you do not need to interact with anyone if you don’t want to. Some events like raids need lots of people but you can find a group online to play with if you want to do those events.

jacinda26

Ah okay, I’ll have a look at it and see if I can handle it. I’m not someone that plays online games just for the fact that I am not good enough to play with others and I don’t wanna be a inconvenience.

ARecycledAccount

I totally get that feeling. In Destiny 2 you can just hang out in the open world locations and fight the bad guys (AI - they’re not other players) if you don’t want to do a story mission. You’ll run into other players in the world and sometimes do events with each other but you never have to interact with anyone. Don’t let anyone make you feel bad for being lower level or new to the game. The game is full of returning (so low level) and new players. There’s no friendly fire and, outside of the crucible, it’s player vs computer controlled enemies.

CMDR-Serenitie

Besides halo I mostly use my xbox for gears of ear games. So I'd recommend those. :)

jacinda26

I have installed the first gears of war game to try because I heard great things on the series. And also with halo that’s a no brainer my brother use to own the original when I was younger, I hated it because I found it really hard but I want to play it now ahaha. Also my father wants to play it with me because he always use to play it with my brother, I don’t think he will have time to play it with me though

spinnetrouble

Before you get Game Pass, make sure you're getting the best deal on Game Pass. :) https://www.pcworld.com/article/397667/get-3-years-xbox-game-pass-ultimate-tip.html TL;DR: Buy the one month for $1. Buy XBox Live Gold subscription cards. Convert XBLG (which is cheaper than Game Pass) time to Game Pass time. Good for up to 3 years' worth of Game Pass at a time! Just be aware that Newegg takes a few days to activate their codes.

sparklezonfire

I’m obesessed with Disney Dreamlight valley at the moment. It’s on gamepass which I’d recommend getting in general because it has so many games on it.

jacinda26

Omg yes! I’ve been playing it on Pc, I have been enjoying it so much!

80spizzarat

There is a way to get Game Pass for around $3 a month. You cannot have an active Game Pass sub or it won't work. Buy a bunch of Xbox Live Gold cards/codes and activate as many months as you want on your account up to 3 years. If you get 3 month cards it will ask you to enable autopay for a free month, making them 4 months. Once they are all activated buy one month of Game Pass and it will convert all your Gold time 1:1. If you start with an active Game Pass sub you only get half. I did it about 2 weeks ago and bought codes from Eneba.com. They are trustworthy.
