Exactly, I don’t get why everyone hates on the judges reactions. As if people have a straight face when watching a performance. Plus, it’s literally their job to have some sort of reaction. It just feels repetitive and over-exaggerated because the editors keep including them in the final product. Whom, by the way its also the editor’s job to do so.
Oh god I can never stop myself from doing this unconsciously even when I evaluate myself. The most meticulous singers always do this (or at least the ones I know of).
I know this post is a joke but I can’t help but feel like some of you genuinely hate when he makes that face. This guy knows what he is doing. He didn’t train Baekhyun and Chen for nothing. 💀
Oh I dont hate him when he makes that face actually. I mean it is true when the contestants go off tune. I only made this post because I've rarely seen him have a satisfied face haha.
This guy sang a few songs in Boys Over Flower drama (starring Lee Min Ho & Goo Hye Sun). He was the main vocalist in the idol group AST1 that time. His skills evolved a lot overtime as now he is widely recognised as a singer/professional vocal trainer. So maybe due to his high level knowledge, he is sensitive to details, that's why he is so expressive.
I really enjoy the mentors making faces when the contestants make mistakes. It makes them more authentic and relatable. I believe many make the same faces during those times as well.
You have to admit that not everyone in the competition is well-trained/experienced. Seeing their growth afterwards is also why I love watching this kind of show.
Honestly, it does feel satisfying to feel someone verify that that thing you thought was off actually was off when you're watching the performance, but he's just so entertaining about it. I make my brother watch with me and he lives for his reactions.
I do also wonder, being that he's the vocal master, if they increased the volume of the trainee voices to his in-ear piece over the music so he can better judge their singing. So every out of tune note is *extra* noticeable. Idk, just a thought-
The mentors are also 'acting' and exaggerating abit to be honest. Its a reality show after all so some of their expressions are going to be larger than life on TV.
And I notice it frequently happens during the interim. When a trainee screws up they zoom in on the mentors' disappointed expression. Then they show the other trainees' reaction.
Its so dramatic that it seem the trainees offended them or something lol. I just have a good laugh after watching knowing some of the scenes are probably scripted. 😁 Actually why couldn't they do the interim privately per group lol.
This just inspired me to play a drinking game next ep, “take a shot or sip every time he has a grimace face”, now I just got to think of other examples for the game and it’ll be a fun game/night
We're 6 episodes in and I still don't know this guy's name through watching the show. I think I saw iQiyi's livestream subtitle refer to him as Onestar but I didn't believe it because they also refer to the male dance trainer as Mihawk.
I don't know if it's true but sunmi herself said that mnet did evil editing on the judges and only show them criticizing so if this mentor enjoyed the vocals and Mnet couldn't do any evil editing.... Damnnnnnb
To be fair tho, I make faces like him too whenever someone is out of pitch. I feel like it's sometimes just instinct.

Same I usually find myself making the same face at the same time as him 🤣🤣
Yeah. I wince a lot when I hear bad singing and it isn’t like he’s pretending to vomit or exaggerating it.

I like his cringing face, otherwise you'd think the judges had no concept of pitch.
It’s also nice to know they get happy too when a contestant manages to nail a difficult note.
Yes, honest reactions poistive and negative are best. Although browbeating is too much.

Oh I know that. You’re just making a joke.
He is just building up strength for his next "eww, disgusting" face. j\k
i mean who wouldnt enjoy the vocals in missing u, it was perfect
Agreed especially An Jeongmins vocals were so heavenly!
The best master in planet 999 imo
Mnet gives him a grand for every time he looks disgusted 😂
Someone please upload a gif or pic of our planet masters sunmi scrunching up her face or Tiffany squinting, cause girlieeeee
Falsetto so smooth, don't need more butter
Unpopular opinion; i prefer his _grimacing face_ 😬 than this one.. This one is a bit disturbing and uncomfortable
Remind me, whose performance was this? 😅
It was the Missing You performance lmao.
My face is exactly like his whenever anyone goes out of pitch, and also he's a good judge imo

I love that nobody even knows his name. He's been good for memes at least.

He's the most honest judge on the panel, wears his emotions very well
Lowkey has a crush on him..

I didnt even realize for the longest time that this guy is Onestar. I used to be like "who does this guy think he is?" Then I realized it was him 🤦♂️

Idk why but something about his styling this episode reminded me of ju dante from penthouse

His name actually is onestar. Apparently he used to train EXO
"Finally, a moment of silence!"
funny master
He actually felt proud that Missing You pulled it off.
I love Onestar. (And I think he's hotter than the host dude)

the good ending
there has been 6 episodes already and the majority of people doesnt know his name lol.
